  The field of amber flowers
Posted by: The Humble Sage - 03-08-2016, 05:25 PM - Forum: The Astral Realm - No Replies

The four stars flowed and weaved amongst each other, cycling through the night sky in a dizzying display of speed and precision. The small girl watched their flight through the blackness, and gave a laugh full of youthful exuberance. She sprinted off through the fields, bare feet pounding on the dirt as she raced softly through the long grass. She was one of those stars.

The Sage watched her run past him into the star-lit night. She was so free.

The seal of a letter, closed, brings only promise.

As he watched, she ran farther and farther, off into the night. He moved to follow her, but was unable to match her pace. She went wheeling away, and as the Sage followed, she seemed to leave the field behind and began running through the sky as well. Around him, the bulbs of plants unfurled into glowing golden flowers. The sky was now above him and below. The Sage was floating through stars and space.

Once ope'd the promise flees out into the distance.

No, he wasn't floating, he was falling. Faster and faster, the stars streaking past him, their light stinging his eyes. He was out of control, lost among the stars. A comet, errant and purposeless. A messenger of portent; a harbinger of doom.

Every footstep on the beaches, passes beyond the realm of men.

Ahead, the stars were actually the flowers of the field, and he was streaking towards the ground at incredible speed. The girl was running through the fields. He was going to smash into her. With desperation he through all his force into changing his direction. He would not hit her. Somehow, he managed to veer away at the last moment, and crashed into the field behind her.

But a word on the lips of the wise lasts until the end of all days.

He screamed out of the sky, striking directly into the small boy, that was trying to keep up with her. There was a deafening sound, and the world went black. The small white figure floated there, grinning at him. The Sage was unable to move, his body wouldn't listen. The white form grew larger, and started to laugh at him, mouth a wide, black, gaping maw. The Sage fell again, into Omni's laughing mouth.

And the leaf of a tome lasts beyond even those.

Well, I feel comfortable enough to tell the Omniverse that I have been debating whether or not to have surgery to have my sex change to female. I have already given it weeks of thought but havent decided yet. This is why I wont be posting though just to inform you guys..

Character It Would be Fun to Play
Posted by: Paul Atreides - 03-08-2016, 02:32 PM - Forum: The Whateververse, Man - Replies (36)

First off, love playing Paul, but I got to thinking about what weird/unconventional characters we could play. I mean if we have a carp streamer and the like I’m sure we can come up with some other fun ones. Any thoughts, join in. Just for fun.

Godzilla
How much fun would it be to play as a massive green beast with only a basic intelligence. Sure, you’d be able to talk in some fashion (or else RPing might get a bit dull- maybe telepathy?). I could totally see him with some energy breath, and just stomping around the city. Btw, I’m talking more about the Toho era Godzilla rather than “Zilla” from America. Give him really low speed and pretty bad technique but boost his Str out the wazu. Other Kaiju could also be as fun to play.

Arthur Dent (Hitchhikers Guide)
As long as you took him from some point after the 1st book, the Omniverse would be pretty par for the course. “Oh, another weird universe? Is it Tuesday already?” Certainly by like the 3rd book he’d be pretty jaded about the whole thing. Give him a towel, a copy of the guide, and maybe eventually the Heart of Gold?

Wade Watts/Parzival (Ready Player One)
Dude. The sheer number of 80s / geek memorabilia you could cram into playing Parzival would be glorious. Best part? He could totally still think he’s on the trail of James Halliday's Easter egg and just trapped in the OASIS or something.

  Open Roads to a Destination

It wasn't long before the thief was back in the Nexus, hands in his pockets as he strolled at a fine speed, where no regular human would even hope to catch up, even by running. He spoke to his programmed companion.

"I'd appreciate if my disguises were no longer at humorous expense, IRIS."

A mechanized giggle was halted as she gave a whirring sigh. "I know..." she started. "I just couldn't gelp myself, plus i knew you were gonna make it out perfectly fine. Even better, the guy doesnt even know who you are!"

"That is true, but still. I feel mocked..."

"Aww, I am sorry Creator. If it helps, ill be helping you when you create the base for the guild! By the way, why Camelot? Its pretty busy over there, so it's a higher chance of getting caught."

"Exactly, but there are also more opportunities to practice our art, and for our future members to refine their skills. If the law ever comes down on us, I gaurantee that I will be on the front lines."

"A noble statement for someone that lives off of others." The machine giggled jokingly.

"Ahah. Yes, it is. But there is at least aome honor among thieves, some things that we simply abide by, as respect to others and ourselves. Without it we are just a bunch of rampant fools under the same name."

"You have given a lot of thought to this haven't you?"

"Lass, it has been on my mind for at least the past week. It is time that we pool our resources and begin to widen our reach and influence. Camelot will be the first to fall under our eyes."

"I like it when you plot, Creator. You sound so confident!"

The thief gave a nervous laugh, realizing that he was being a bit too prideful. "I suppose." He then stopped for a moment and looked towards the fountain. "IRIS what information is there about that gathering of primes over there?"

"Hmm... it looks like someone really wants to gang up on Sasuke, isn't that the guy you fought in Nippur? He had that really cool sword!"

"Indeed he did. Is there a count for who is present?"

"Hmm... a bit, though not all are registered on a dataverse device."

"I see. We should not interfere. Though an artefact like that would no doubt be useful, trying to take it within the crowd would no doubt bring eyes towards us. I have had enough war for the time being. However, perhaps we shall see if any new primes have arrived. I find it useful to introduce ourselves to them, it may prove beneficial later on..."

"Sounds good to me, Creator!"

  Riding the Worm
Posted by: Paul Atreides - 03-08-2016, 12:00 PM - Forum: The Endless Dunes - Replies (25)

Dune. Arrakis. Or as close as Paul would get to it. His lungs sucked in the dry desert air and his soul was at peace with himself. Gurney, ever the attentive friend, had traveled  this far with him and he had been joined recently by the Atreides swordmaster- Duncan Idaho. The two stood some distance back as Paul completed a sort of informal ritual of returning to the desert- he never knew he’d missed this place so much. He was as a fish returning to the seas of Calidan- the silky sand slipping under his feet in a welcoming gesture.

“Are you alright master Paul?”

“Yes Gurney, very much so.”

“Shall we continue then?” He pressed, Paul rejoining his two friends.

“Yes. Let us.” Paul agreed and turned from them once again to survey the sandscape before them.

“Where... exactly... might that be Paul?” Duncan asked, a little quizzically. Gurney shot the much younger swordmaster a glance but Duncan just folded his arm and set his hips. The two did this dance often and it did Paul’s heart good to see it once again; having lost Duncan to sardukar, the swordmaster sacrificing himself to afford Paul and his mother time to escape.

“Where the sands will take us Duncan. Wherever our path will lead- it is where we will need to be.”

That was a very un-Fremen thing to say. Wandering without purpose on Arrakis would have been effective suicide- a method they used for capital punishment. Put this world was not near as hot or foreboding. If Dune was torture to the body, this was a lightly skinned knee. The temperature, at least here, was nowhere near as hot, and he could even see scraggly vegetation hartley clinging to life around the occasional rocky outcropping.

“I think it would be best, master Paul, if we formulated a-” Gurney began but the Duke cut him off.

“It matters not where we go... now we have desert power.” Paul said distantly, a great plume of sand erupting into the air several miles away in the open desert.

“Is that a spice blow?” Duncan gasped and Paul flashed him a smile.

“Yes Duncan... and it is our ride.”

Paul wasn't sure if he had summoned it or if it was a part of this world already... but where there was a spice blow- there was a worm.

  Vergil (Joining)
Posted by: Vergil Sparda - 03-07-2016, 04:34 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (4)

Character name: Vergil Sparda

Character source: Devil May Cry (Video Game)

Character history: I'm Using The Vergil Sparda Of Devil May Cry 3, And 4 (They're All The Same Person With The Same Background, Of Which I Plan On Putting Elsewhere.) He Will Be Taken From The Very End Of Number 3 (He Was In The Demon World At The Time)

Physical Description: (originals only)

Stats:
ATK:1
DEF:1
SPD:4
TEC:4

Starting Proficiencies(3200): Physical Strength, Ranged Proficiency, Ranged Materialized Proficiency, Remote Control Proficiency,

Starting Powers(700): Super Jumping (basic), Master Acrobat,

Air Hike (Super Jumping (basic))
Air Hike Allows Vergil To Manifest Demonic Energy In The Form Of A Blue, Rune-Like Platform Below Himself That He Can Jump Off Of To Propel Himself A Few Extra Meters Into The Air

Master Acrobat
Years Of Combat Experience, And His Natural Demonic Heritage Have Made Vergil Very Evasive During Combat, Easily Performing Master Level Acrobatic Skills Such As Flips, Running Up And Across Walls, And Air Combat.

Starting Moves:
Yamato (600, Ranged Proficiency, Physical Strength)
The Yamato Is A Katana-Like Sword Roughly Four Feet In Length. It Weighs Very Little, Giving The Wielder The Ability To Swing It Very Quickly, But Is Limited In Terms Of Offensive Strength. The Sword Is Infused With Half Of The Demonic Powers Of The Greater Demon Sparda, Giving Vergil The Ability To Quickly Release Some Of This Energy By Unsheathing The Sword. The Effect Causes A Whir Of Slices In The Area Of The Opponent That Take A Few Seconds To Manifest. If A Swift Opponent Were To Notice The Unsheathing Motion, It Could Leave Time To Attack Vergil.

Summoned Swords (600, Ranged Proficiency, Ranged Materialized Proficiency, Remote Control Proficiency)
These are blue, magic bastard swords usually spawned in groups by Vergil at a rate of about one sword every 1.5 seconds, that he can use for a variety of purposes. The main use is to it be launched telepathically at his opponent. They offer the ability to cause a lot of damage, at the cost of the speed of a bullet. Another use for these swords, is as a major boost to melee defense. Vergil has the ability to have to swords spin around himself rapidly, making melee hits hard to connect. This ability drains his power quickly though, and the swords are fragile. A few bullets are enough to shatter the summoned swords.

Beowulf (300, Physical Strength)
The Beowulf are a set of clawed gauntlets and boots of angelic power. These offer high amounts of maneuverability while worn, as they act as an extension of the body. Beowulf, very much unlike the Yamato, offers very high physical damage output and combat maneuverability, at a severe detriment to speed.

  Getting kicked out!
Posted by: Omni - 03-07-2016, 08:15 AM - Forum: The Whateververse, Man - Replies (19)

As some of you know I've got a pretty sweet deal with my current place where I get cheap rent for a large property in exchange for the knowledge that I can be kicked out at any time with a month's notice. It's called a guardianship and it's a special deal that's not technically a tenancy. It's also how I've managed to stay afloat on low income.

Well I've just been given notice for twenty-eight days - that's 4 April. So at some point in the next month I'm going be having to move house, again. Not sure where that's going to be yet. Just a heads up that my timetable just got frenetic.

Yo, it's Sam (aka Stu) here with some original icons for the peeps on the site I'm closest to.
First up, Luger, who I'm sharing my first story arc with.

Next, Ryner Lute, who I used to share the arc with back when he was Crash.

Next, my girl Jade.

Can't forget Jams.

Nor can I overlook Tartaros.

And, of course, we can't forget the main man himself, Omni.

Uh, that may be a little feminine. How about you make the colour a bit less garish?

Ok. Good. Now could you make the font a bit more threatening?

Great. Now get rid of all that frilly crap.

No, that's the wrong image. Use the first one.

Sigh. Sorry, Greg, that first one may be as good as you're gonna get.

  Lupercal Enterprises/Marethyu
Posted by: The Rogue - 03-06-2016, 03:30 PM - Forum: Omniverse Discussion - Replies (3)

So hopefully before Nealpph's Volvagia strike, I plan for Connor to start his Faction. If everything goes as planned he is going to set up Lupercal Enterprises as a front for Marethyu.

Basically you can contract Marethyu if you need: bodyguards, someone dead or banished, extra people for a team, forceful industrial espionage, or supplies smuggled to a certain place or group.
