CHARACTER NAME:
Mordus Goldenmane
CHARACTER SOURCE:
Original, he’s one of my Monk D&D characters.
CHARACTER HISTORY:
Mordus comes from an ancient and dying world, named Az. His people were masters of the mystical locations called the pillars, large cylinder stone pillars that made up a treacherous place. His peoples name, long lost. His life was short in his world, and he participated in the last battle of his people. He fought monstrous beasts that towered skyscrapers, and wreaked havoc on his planet. In the midst of battle, he was struck down onto the ground level, below the pillar tops. He hit the ground roughly, and before him, a small stone door appeared. It slowly opened, and before he knew it, he was sucked in to the Omniverse, an inch away from death.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
His height is 5’6, skin color, Blueish purple. His hair color is Golden orange, like a sun setting, mixed with red. His eyes are a hazel brown. Short, but I’m providing a picture as well. As soon as I find out how.

STATS:
ATK:4
DEF:1
SPD:3
TEC:2
STARTING PROFICIENCIES:
Physical Proficiency
Ranged Proficiently
Remote Control Proficiency
STARTING POWERS:
Master Acrobat
STARTING MOVES:
Fists O’ Fury (400 OM, Physical Proficiency)
Mordus can charge up a melee based attack for a maximum of 40 seconds, and a minimum of 5 seconds. He must stay completely still. After charging this move, he can inflict a number of melee based attacks in the span of a few seconds, how fast these attacks are depends on the time spent charging it. I.E he spends 5 seconds, he can make a number of quick attacks in five seconds. Essentially, he gets really fast for a certain amount of time.
————
EX. “Mordus watches as the thugs step out from the ally way shadows. He notes their numbers, and proceeds to stand completely still. They slowly incircle him in the span of 12 seconds. The first thugs launches at him and time seems to slow to Mordus. His fists fly up and connect with the mans throat and gut. In one second, the man lies dead. Mordus turns to three others. He kicks out and flys at them in a fury. In another four seconds, they to lie dead. In seven more seconds, the rest of the thugs lie on the ground, lifeless and cold.”
Spectral Limbs (600 OM, Physical Proficiency, Ranged Proficiency, Remote Control Proficiency)
Mordus can summon another set of arms, ranging from normal sized, to as thick as trees. Summoning is instant, usually with a clap. Mordus can keep them on his person, giving him more limbs to attack with, lift, etc. Or, he can summon them as physical arms in a range of 50 feet. He can slam them into people, pick things up, etc. They work as really big (Or small) summonable arms, that don’t have to be attached to him. The only downsize, is that if they are not attached to his body, he has to stand still and control them with his normal arms, miming the movements.
Fireball (800 OM, Ranged Prof, Remote Control Prof)
Simple spell, know across many universes. Mordus can summon up a large fireball. It’s instant, and very, very draining. The fireball can range from as big as his hand, to as big as 4 watermelons combined. It’s properties kind of work like Napalm, from the Earth Verse’s. Mordus rarely uses this devastating ability, because once used, he’s practically defenseless.
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.
Um, yes I do indeed.

Quote:Betting
Each round, individuals participating in the tournament may place OM bets on the outcome of other matches. You may bet 50 OM per match. There will be a thread for bet placements. To make a bet, you must first post in your Purchase and Deduction Log, adding the amount of your bet(s) to Consumed OM. If you are making 4 50 OM bets, you would add 200 to your Consumed OM. It goes without saying that you need to have the spare OM to do so.
Once you make the PDL post, you'll post in the Betting thread with your selections, which locks you into those picks.
If you make the correct bet, you win 100 OM. If you lose the bet, well... better luck next time.
This is the Betting thread mentioned in the Rewards/Betting section of da rules.
Please post confirmations here (Bets and OM) -- All bets are 50 OM. Win, and you get back your 50 + 50 more. Lose and you, y'know, lose.
If you're one of our people coming back from hiatus, please make sure you get up to speed on 'Consumed OM' and how that works, if you're not aware.

Logistically speaking, it's difficult to do a double elim with a # of people that isn't an easy power of 4. The online system I used to generate it told me to put in 11 byes, but I thought that was a bit bonkers, since it means half the people do nothing round 1.
Instead, there will be 3 byes (4 if you count the team facing an NPC squad in round one, but who knows, they might fuck up)
The byes are as follows.
In the 2nd round (Winners Bracket), the top scoring team from Round 1 (raw score) will receive a Bye.
In the 4rd (Winners Bracket), the team with the highest Margin of Victory in their Round 3 match up will receive a Bye.
The team eliminated in the single match of the 4th round winner's bracket (the other team will be on bye) will receive a Bye from their first Loser's Bracket match (their first match up would be the quarter final of the Loser Bracket).
I hope this makes sense. I will try and draw up a visual later tonight or when I'm at work tomorrow.

If you have some type of circumstance where you feel you should be able to make a purchase (I just got this approved / I was working to get this approved / I just made the decision to enter this chaos in the last 2 hours) ... make sure you touch base with me, and I'll likely let you snatch that thing you need so you can actually write and enjoy yourself.
Otherwise, Purchases are locked.
I'll be sorting out the bracket, but you should all know your first-round match ups. I'll post the list a little later tonight.

CHARACTER NAME:
Isaac Gates AKA Felix
CHARACTER SOURCE:
Red vs. Blue, taken from before the Chorus Trilogy.
CHARACTER HISTORY:
Felix originally enlisted in the UNSC, also known as the United Nations Security Council, and fought alongside Samuel Ortez, otherwise known as Locus. The two were partners throughout the Great War against the Covenant Armada, which was an entirely race of hostile aliens who wished to wipe out the entirety of humanity. Although they were losing the battle at first, thanks to the efforts of Thebes UNSC (most notably Master Chief), humanity came out on top. Felix and Locus over the time they spent together, and soon after the war they became bounty hunters after they were relieved of their duties as soldiers.
Although at first they would only turn in criminals, they eventually began work for increasingly shady people, eventually dropping the bounty hunter status all together and becoming full on mercenaries who will kill anyone or anything for a quick buck. This led to a wealthy businessman named Malcolm Hargrove hiring Felix and Locus to wipe out everyone on a planet called Chorus for a large pay. Unable to turn down a profit, Felix and Locus agreed, though Felix was transported by Omni before they ever made it to Chorus.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Felix is often only seen inside of his armor, which is customized UNSC armor that’s been painted orange and black. He stands at about 6’0 and weighs roughly 140 lbs without his armor.
On the rare occasion that he’d be seen without his armor, Felix looks like any ordinary guy with short, brown hair and brown eyes. He is also very fit and in shape, and doesn’t appear to have an ounce of fat on him.

STATS:
ATK: 2
DEF: 2
SPD: 1
TEC: 5
STARTING PROFICIENCIES:
Ranged Profiency, Physical Strength and Area Defense Profiency
STARTING POWERS:
Master Acrobat, Basic Super Jumping
STARTING MOVES: - Combat Knife - A standard knife used for combat that Felix keeps at his side at all times. It has a skull painted on each side of the hilt. Aside from that, it’s just an ordinary combat knife. Will only be used in melee combat, as he only has one and would probably lose it if he threw it at someone. The knife itself is 7 inches long, making it a very deadly weapon to get stabbed with.
- Handgun - A simple handgun that Felix also keeps with him at all times. It’s a standard pistol with no special attachments to it, not even a suppressors or a flashlight. Its range lasts up to 27 yards (25 meters). The gun itself can hold up to 15 rounds per magazine, though it can only fire one round per second. He also has two extra magazines on him.
- Light Shield - A clear sky blue shield that Felix can spawn whenever he sees necessary. It covers the entire from of his body and can block standard bullets or low grade shots, though it could not withstand an object such as a missile or a whole lot of rounds from a powerful gun such as an AK.though it leaves his back completely exposed to any attack. He can summon it almost instantly by simply holding up his arm in front of him, and it takes little to no time at all to appear. As it is wired into his suit, Felix can only use this when wearing his armor.
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

“So you don’t remember anything?”
The pink-haired pint hadn’t stopped talking since they’d left the two angry non-Hollows back at the fountain. “Nah,” he muttered, barely paying attention as he honed in on the stone archway, steadily growing on the white-on-white horizon. “Last thing I remember we were messing with those Quincies back in Soul Society. It’s pretty hazy.”
“So you don’t remember anything like they said? Some guy telling you where we are?” At this point Yachiru’s face was pressed so near to his that the tip of her nose was barely grazing his brow. “I can’t remember anything at all!”
The shaggy shinigami thought for a moment, squinting as if to block out the sun that didn’t exist. “I can sorta remember something, but it’s almost like part of it is missing.” He frowned, shaking his head. “I can remember something talking to me, but the rest is just darkness. Something about...Omni?”
“What’s an Omni?” his lieutenant returned, this time flat-out smooshing her nose into his temple.
“Dunno,” Zaraki answered, shrugging. “That’s all I can remember, if it even happened. Coulda just been a dream or something.”
“Where are we headed then, Kenny?” The young girl had taken to swinging her legs idly, her sandals tapping against his chest.
“This way I guess,” Kenpachi said, tilting his head toward the portal. “Maybe someone on the other side knows what the hell is going on around here.”
- -
“OOH!” Yachiru’s high-pitched cheer split Kenpachi’s eyedrum like a knife through warm butter. “It’s like one big sand box!”
They pair had indeed found their way into what appeared to be the sandiest place they have ever encountered. Being that he had once battled soulless monsters in a dimension almost entirely comprised of barren desert, this was saying something.
“Can we stop and make sand castles?” Yachiru inquired, leaping from her perch atop his shoulder onto the rocky ground. Her eyes shone as she stared off at the dunes that rose out in the distance.
“You can try,” Ken answered, not really paying her any attention. “But you only have your hands, so good luck with that.”
She frowned, crossing her arms over her chest. The sleeves of her oversized robe slide down to her elbows as she copped a frown. “Maybe we can get some water somewhere!”
“I see some kind of city,” the towering captain called over his shoulder, completely ignoring the girl’s inane suggestions. “This way.”
“Good idea!” She replied cheerily, sprinting after her captain and springing into the air to land upon his shoulder. “They’ll definitely have some water! And maybe even some shovels!”

The first thing she noted was the air. The fairy didn’t notice it before, but the forest’s atmosphere - compared to that of the Nexus now behind her - felt... refreshing, actually, like she was finally breathing “real, true-to-life air”. If that makes sense. Most people can probably smell the scents of the forest though, but there was something else Eternity could sense too. Something that clouded the life of the forest just like oxygen, yet could not be noticed as easily.
The arcane aura of lifeforce.
The thought was brief, however; something else had caught her attention. Nearby, there seemed to be some semblance of a pathway. It was somewhat neglected... perhaps the only reason for its persistence being that travellers found it useful to have a trustworthy way around. Hoping to come across civilization or just… anything that can tell her more about the Omniverse, the fairy decided to take the road.
Along the way, the butterfly fairy discovered many things about this “world”. While she recognized most of the plant-life back when she explored the different regions of Gensokyo, there were also strange - sometimes downright exotic - shrubs and herbs that look like they were pulled out of someone’s imagination.
From the tiniest of herbs, to giants whose leaves alone were the size of one wing of hers. Flowers and mushrooms with enough colors to fill a rainbow. Some even seemed to glow fiery reds and vibrant blues under the shade of the trees. The forest seemed to contain every kind of plant possible! The animals looked to be just as diverse, but she can’t say for sure because the little critters keep running away at the last moment. She took this as a caution; there must be a lot of predators around the place if they’re that easily scared-
The fairy stopped for a brief moment, noticing the cloaked figure who had just passed by.
Eternity turned to face the figure now behind her. “Uhm, hello?” she said, halting it in its tracks.
Even with the rustling of trees and the chirping of birds(?), the silence of the moment could be felt. The brown-clad figure turned around to respond. “Make it quick, I’ve got things to do.” The voice was very slightly breathy, but it was also distinctly male.
“Ah! Well, I’m a bit lost, and I don’t really know where I am or what’s happening,” the butterfly fairy told the figure, “can you help me, please?”
An audible sigh escaped the figure’s cloaks. “Another newcomer, huh… Well, I’ve got no choice then.” His slow steps toward Eternity signalled the beginning of an unspoken interrogation. “I’ve already got a feeling, but I’ll ask it for peace of mind: are you Prime or Secondary?”
The clueless fairy was taken aback by the question - one she isn’t able to answer anyway. “P-Prime? Secondary? W-what are you saying?”
“Alright…” the cloaked man paused for a short while. “Before you woke up, did some person who looks all-white talk to you?” Eternity finally answered. “Oh, you mean Omni? Yeah! He’s an amazing-”
“Yeah, yeah, I know.” As rude as he sounded, she did realize that the guy knew more about the situation than her. “If so, then that makes you a Prime. As for me, I’m a Secondary. That just means I was brought here not by Omni, but another Prime.”
Right… things seem to make a bit more sense now. Those brought to the Omniverse by Omni are called Primes, and those Primes are given the powerful element of Omnilium. Somehow, those Primes can also summon Secondaries to the world. If she’s a Prime, then apparently she could summon a Secondary too. Eternity made a note in her head to try that out later-
“By the way, this world right here’s called the Tangled Greens. Forgot about that.” The man interrupted her train of thought. “Anyways, I have to go.”
The words marking his leave cited some kind of alert response in the fairy. “Wait!” she blurted out. “Where should I go if I want to meet more people?”
The figure made a long, descending hum. The fairy could hear his foot tapping on the dirty road. Clearly, this was testing his geopolitics. “Well, here in the Tangled Greens, you’re not going to find a lot of… welcoming people, I’d say. It took me quite some effort to get the trust of my clients here.”
“I’ll give you two options: From your looks, I’d say you would fit well in Camelot,” referring to her butterfly wings. “It should be one of the gates next to the one you entered; just look out for an archway made of marble.”
“Or,” he emphasized, “you could go to Dante’s Abyss.”
“...who’s Dante? You’re saying weird stuff again, mister.”
“Oh, I forgot. In short, Dante’s Abyss is a tournament held by some group called ‘Syntech’, and it’s pretty popular here in the Omniverse. Lots of Primes join in to fight over the prizes, and a lot more people come from everywhere to watch the thing.”
“If you want to register, you can go to one of those Syntech tents I just saw right along the road. Down there,” he pointed past Eternity’s shoulders, to where he came from. “I don’t think you’d want to join, though. Just my advice.” If the figure wasn’t wearing a hood, the fairy would’ve seen a smile on his face.
“Hmm… I still don’t get a few things, but I think I get what’s happening now,” Eternity said. “Thank you so much, mister!”
“Don’t worry, the Omniverse is pretty strange. You’ll want to take your time wrapping your head around it.”
Thus, the two conversing people went their separate ways. From just a brief encounter, there was already so much information the fairy’s mind had to process. She heard about another place, Camelot, which she might have to explore later on to learn its own set of secrets.
Plus, this “Dante’s Abyss”, as he called it, seemed to be her opportunity to find new friends and foes, even if her experience with the other Primes will take a very… direct approach.
In her excitement, she turned around as if wanting to ask another question to the man in the cloak. However, there was only nothing behind her.
A slight breeze blew on Eternity’s short, turquoise hair.
Somehow, the magnificent image of nature had become dull.
It was not long before the midsummer fairy discovered the tent that the cloaked man talked about.
