  A Tangled Mess
Posted by: Jams Bolero - 03-24-2016, 02:38 PM - Forum: The Tangled Green - Replies (11)

Getting closer to the portal, Jams felt a breeze flow past him into the white expanse of "the Canvas".  Looking through the brown trees into the portal itself, a simple white morphed into various shades of green roughly in the shape of tree leaves, circling around a center point in a sort of rotating tunnel.  As Jams entered, he felt his feet sweep up behind him as the portal sucked him in, like a magnet to... well, a magnet.

Flying through the portal felt like moving at the speed of sound.  Various shades of green and even an occasional purple or white flew by.  As the tunnel drew to a close, the colors darkened in tone until Jams found himself in the middle of a forest.

Regardless of direction, a tree would always be in sight.  Sunlight bled through the somewhat thin canopy, the shadows of the leaves gently swaying back and forth on the grassy, leaf-coated ground.  Moat trees were decked in green leaves of various shades, however a few wore purple or white flowers.  The air was cool and dry, but not too much for either.  This part of the forest felt like perpetual spring, assuming that this land had seasons at all.

Birds sang in the distance, each with their own song designed to make them distinct.  One of which reminded Jams of standing outside in his backyard where he would jump on the trampoline.  It started on a B flat, jumped to an F and glissandoed down to a D, and repeated a C thrice.  At least, Jams thought this was the case, he never was good at picking out notes by name.  He did, however, know this song by heart, resulting in an ultimately tranquil scene to behold.

Tranquillity.  Yes, the other world lacked that entirely, didn't it?  Floating in the void, technically there was no chaos.  There was nothing else, though, so it really just felt empty.  Its brighter counterpart was so bright that it hurt to look at.  Not here, though... here, there was just enough of everything to give the forest a peaceful feel.

Looking over to his left, Jams found Eric waiting patiently.  He held a notebook and pencil in his hands, positioned as if he were about to wrote or draw something.  It makes sense, the world is quite beautiful, and perhaps it had some scientific knowledge left to be found.  "Hey Eric!" Jams said with a grin, "What are you doing?  Writing a discovery or somethin'?"

  Memory Bank
Posted by: Proto Man - 03-24-2016, 01:31 PM - Forum: The Astral Realm - Replies (4)

Accessing memory banks...Date: 3 mo. BOV ... Location: Monsteropolis, NY...

Loading file 'Wily no Saigo!' ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ... Engage.

The red figure stumbled and clutched at his chest.

Power…. Failing.  Recommend immediate cessation of expenditure.  The words flashed on the android’s internal display and were accompanied by a few flickering warning signs.

“God… darn it!”

With a grunt, Proto Man fell to his knees.  Clutching a gloved hand to his chest, the android sucked air into lungs that didn’t exist.  Even though he wasn’t a human, sweat stained his temples and made the hair inside his helmet awkwardly moist.  Twenty feet in front of him, another robot watched with a grin as his opponent huffed and heaved on the ground.

“Just lie down, Proto Man; you can’t hope to defeat me.”  Although the other Robot Master lacked the finer intonation and speech patterns of his more advanced ilk, he was not without his fare share of evil bantering capabilities.

“You’re not intimidating, Drawl Man.”  With a grin, Proto Man firmly planted a red, metal boot on the ground in front of him.  A beat later, he clenched his synthetic teeth together and rose up to his feet.  Extending a hand, the prototype android clenched his fist, and all of a sudden—

—nothing happened.  A message popped up in the corner of the robot’s field of vision that spelled out the situation in rigid, unsympathetic red letters.  Power levels critical.  Proto Buster inaccessible.  Lowering his hand, Proto Man watched as Drawl Man threw a hand out to his side like a diva.  The next moment, the metal fingers closed around the high-tech revolver on the cowboy Robot Master’s belt.

“Dr. Wily is going to be so pleased when I bring your body to him.”  Drawl Man’s mouth twitched, which meant he was trying to smile but lacked the necessary level of sophistication.  Many of Wily’s Robot Masters were designed with the sole purpose to destroy things and bring and end to all living things, particularly Dr. Light and his cronies.  As a result, they all had limited vocabularies and usually plastic expressions.  There were always exceptions, like the morose Bubble Man and the overly egotistical Top Man.

Unfortunately, Drawl Man needed neither high-level sentience nor elaborate facial nerves to beat down Proto Man.  The cowboy-themed android had simply managed to pounce on his opponent when he was down.  As the very first ‘Robot Master,’ Proto Man was not without his flaws.  Dr. Light hadn’t perfect the hybrid nuclear-solar power cores that served to fuel his machines, but he rushed to production so Wily didn’t take all the glory.  The two men, who were partners at the time, were constantly embattled with one another for the bragging rights to their inventions.

From what he’d been told, Proto Man had once been closer to Drawl Man.  In those first few weeks—before the fault had happened—he’d been the obedient, cordial machine that both men had hoped to create.

The incomplete and untested core that went into Proto Man wound up being stable.  There were times when the fluctuations of energy were almost too painful to bear, and in the end, the casing splintered.  Proto Man knew that he could trace his real existence to that moment when the power core corrupted Wily’s programming and unlocked something in the prototype’s CPU beyond the scope of science.

He’d been trapped in that lab and left to his own devices.  Despite being brilliant, the two doctors didn’t really understand what they’d created.  They left the robot alone and confused.  Who could you talk to when you were the only one of you kind?  The closest thing to Proto Man before the creation of the extensive line of Robot Masters had been the computer AI that operated the Mettaurs.  While beyond anything else in existence, the Mettaurs were as close to sentience as a few circuits and chipsets could be.

So Proto Man ran away the first chance he got.  He kept running and running until his paint started to peel and his boots began to rust.  He wasn’t sure how many years passed, but he eventually found himself back on the outskirts of Monsteropolis.  In some cruel irony, his strength finally failed him as he wandered down the old country road into town.

It was then that Dr. Wily found him and promised him the gift of a life without an expiration date.  The scientist fixed the glaring design flaws but refused to correct all the outdated problems unless Proto Man helped him get revenge on Dr. Light.  And while the prototype couldn’t stand Light, he wasn’t the type to commit patricide.  In an attempt to casually depart from Dr. Wily’s headquarters, he’d been overwhelmed by an assortment of the man’s robotic creatures.

“Come on, now, Drawl Man, we can talk this out.”  With an attempted smile, the cowboy drew his revolver and put a round of energy through Proto Man’s chest.  The concentrated round shattered the prototype’s chest armor and exploded out through the other side.  Tiny bolts of electricity danced out from the small hole as a slew of warnings began to pile up on Proto Man’s display.  Before the robot could read the first one, the screen went black and all of his functions stopped.

  Dreams and Stuff
Posted by: ADventuresVDO - 03-24-2016, 10:57 AM - Forum: The Creative Corner - No Replies

Dreams are weeeeird, don't you agree?  Kinda wish I had more, they make for good story premises.  On to the weirdness.

Last night, I had a dream.  A dream where me and four of my friends, Will, Hunter, Peyton and Kelly, went to an auditorium with my parents.  The building itself was very blocky in design, composed of red bricks all the way around.  My friends and I never actually went in the auditorium, though.  We entered the building through another door that led to what appeared to be an old back porch-like hallway with dark grey wood and fencing along windowsill.
After I blacked out or something, we were walking into an underground high school.  It was much lighter in tone than the hallway, with somewhat dark tan bricks and white lining along the bottom of the wall.  I am fairly sure there was a bulliten board on the wall directly across the door we entered from, and a few people were walking by and waved at us as we arrived.  We walked down some short steps below the door and decided to separate and explore the school.
The farther I went around the school, the more it started to appear as a mall.  Several shops were spaced in round dug-out areas of the school and then tiled with those tan bricks to make them more visually appealing.  I saw another of my friends there... along with my old science teacher... for some reason... but that doesn't really matter as it had no bearing to anything and I forgot all about it.
I decided to go look for my parents since I kinda thought we should be headed home about then.  Heading outside, I noticed they were not at the vehicle, so I went back inside to look for them.  Albeit not finding them, I did see that (I think) Kelly wrote the following on the projector screen in the auditorium: "These chickens aren't so special... Because I can still catch them :3".
I blacked out again and found myself in my own house in the middle of the night.  The dining room was as tranquil as ever, what with its china cabinet and the lamp that never gets used, but I couldn't help but feel dread.  But for what?  There's no reason I could think of.  I promptly moved from the dining room to the dark kitchen, where a blue light gleamed through the window.  From the kitchen I transferred myself into the hallway, where I walked to the end and opened the door and was immediately filled with horror the moment I got a good look at the scene.
Although it was the only room that was lit, I wish it wasn't.  The bedroom of my parents was disgusting, with webs drenched in chicken stock all over the room.  It was hard to see what was under the covers at first, since it was night and my eyes were blurry from the sudden change in light.  But when they came to, I noticed that what appeared to be a couple of bones poked out from under the covers.  As soon as I could properly see, I fell to my knees as somehow, out of the blue, in place of my parents were a couple of raw chickens the size of humans, appearing as if they came straight from the butcher.
I promptly got up on my knees and ran out of the room, believing that some beast or witch or something had turned my parents into chickens.  I made a dash through the kitchen, an eerily dim red light shining through the window.  Informing the idea of 911 since they wouldn't believe me, I risked getting the beast's attention by heading up to my room.  Or at least, I did, until I heard a disturbing Moise come from the living room, right next to the dining room where the door to the stairs leading to my personal quarters resided.
        And then I woke up.

  Mind Control
Posted by: Loki - 03-23-2016, 06:36 PM - Forum: Help Desk - Replies (3)

I'm trying to find a middle ground with the whole Mind Control deal.

Is there a way to make it work? While it's not exactly a massive deal if it's a no-go, I'd just like to explore the options before I close the door on it completely.

The caveats are pretty huge as is; 1 I'd need strict OOC permission from the player to even consider doing anything to do with making their character a puppet, on top of that if there's anything they're uncomfortable with, I'm not going to force it on them.

As for IC caveats, Loki essentially needs to focus on it entirely. He won't be able to take part in anything for the duration, no combat, nothing.

If there's anything you feel needs to be addressed, please, feel free. I'm open to suggestions!

  Crimson
Posted by: Link - 03-23-2016, 05:22 PM - Forum: Coruscant - Replies (3)

The boy spat a glob of blood to the ground, the same crimson trickled down from his brow and ran profusely from his nose, staining his normally pristine emerald tunic a sickening shade of brown. He struggled against the restraints that held his wrists and ankles in place. Squinting against the reflection of the bright lamp against the metal table before him, the surgically clean room around his lie painted by deep shadows, his reflection repeated over and over in the mirrors that sat either side of him, along the walls of his confine. The brilliant white only sought to ensure that his head would continue to throb endlessly, a strange fuzziness wafting over him in sickening waves.

“I won’t ask you again,” a guttural, growling voice spoke from beyond the light, his form blurred by the sheer brightness, “what is your purpose here?” The suit behind the voice calmly gathered his hands together, resting them upon the clinical surface.

Another glob of crimson stained the formerly pristine metal ground.

“You’re a prime, no?” The suit enquired, “You must be, given the damage you dealt to our Troopers.”

The boy hung his head slightly, staring down at the small pool of scarlet that gathered around his boots. A rage came over the suit, growling in his throat as he stood, smashing the lamp to the side, it’s bulb flickering as it connected with the ground. A clenched fist came thundering down upon the green-garbed teen’s hand, a faint crunch resonated from the boy’s digits. Pained pants burst through gritted teeth, still no words. The suit shook his head, cheeks rosy red with anger. He raised his foot, placing the sole of his boot upon Link’s shoulder and pushed forwards, tipping the young Hero of Time to the ground, another pained wheeze escaped the boy.

“There’s little you can do to cease this, worm, you tell me your intentions and you’ll be on your way,” Suit hissed, “The Empire has sufficient evidence that pertains to your involvement with one ‘Sawada Tsunayoshi’. The rings he holds are of great interest. You provide us with information and this will all be over.”

A faint tingling rushed over the boy, his tunic began to shimmer faintly, a small section started moving, gently at first until the small creature inside had had her fill.

“Hey! Listen, Link hasn’t done anything wrong! We just met him! We don’t know anything about any rings..” Navi cried out, clearly concerned for her partner’s well being, “What do you want from us?!”

Suit snorted. This situation was getting stranger and stranger. First the boy refused to speak a single word, then this.. This ball of light and wings speaks for him.

“Information. There is nothing else you can provide us with.” Suit snarled viciously and turned, slamming the heavy metal door as he left.

“Link.. Link, are you okay?” The fairy pestered, dashing about the boy to check over the state of his body. If there was anything stranger to be thankful for, the boy found himself thankful for Suit’s assault upon his digits. He struggled against the restraints, his thumb reduced to little more than a source of pain, dislocated. Another fact he was thankful for. He would be able to slip his bonds without having to somehow dislocate his own thumb.

The fairy continued her incessant pandering, dashing from top to toe, inspecting the boy for any serious injuries.

“I know what you’re planning, Link, but it’s not going to go well. How are you planning on getting out without being seen?” Navi’s pleas fell on deaf ears.

  There Are No Lines
Posted by: Todd Ingram - 03-23-2016, 03:12 PM - Forum: Coruscant - Replies (3)

The young Vongola woke up in a small room, his hands cuffed to the steel table in front of him. The cold metal and the ominous grey room gave Tsuna the chills. What did Reborn get him into this time? Sawada was staring at his own reflection in the mirror. Considering the room he was in it could only be a one way see through window. Wondering who might be on the other side Tsuna's imagination was running wild, what kind of horrible person was watching him from the other side of the mirror? It was probably an old scary man, dressed in a black suit, rough hands. Maybe even a burn mark on his face to take the attention of the trenches of wrinkles upon his forehead. The dried up blood on his knuckles from what was most likely a result of his last interrogation. Scar's all over his huge body, signs of a man that has been through hell and back. A purebred badass who eats high schools boys for breakfast.

His imagination was running wild while he was waiting. Finally on the other side of the door he could hear some voices, people were coming. Not knowing whether he should be happy or scared that someone was on his way Tsuna closed his eyes instinctively when the door opened. Flashes of horrible interrogation techniques appeared all at ones in his worried little mind.

"I'M SORRY! I did not mean to, honestly. I don't even know what I am sorry for or why I am here! Don't hurt me! I'M SORRY!"

The door closed, his eyes opened carefully and standing in the corner there he was, the man from his nightmares, a shaved gray hairdo, military suit and a pair of shoulders on him that indicates he could snap Tsuna in half. A cold shiver ran down his spineless back when suddenly he heard a voice coming from the other side of the table.

"Don't worry Mr. Tsunayoshi, he won't hurt you. He is just here for my protection." A smooth female voice said comforting. Not expecting a friendly voice in this environment the young Vongola turned to his right and sitting in front of him he saw a beautiful woman. Dressed in the same military uniform as the man in the corner, well maintained blonde hair reaching her shoulders, a soft smile and eyes he had seen somewhere before. Kyoko! She had the same eyes as Kyoko. Observing the young woman made Tsuna feel more at ease. Still, he was recovering from the positive shock that just happened and had yet to respond to the woman.

"You are safe here, we apologies for the way you were brought in. I assure you, measures have been taken against the guards that have treated you this rough."

A blank stare was Tsuna's responds as it slowly all came back to him, Omni, the nexus, Reborn, Link and the white armored guards near one of the gates, "I remember! They were after me, Reborn tricked me into going there. After i tried to run, everything turned black."

"Yes, that would be the stun gun they used on you when you attempted to run instead of talk."

Sawada looked away, ashamed that he did try to run instead of reasoning with the troopers, " You're right, it might have been better to talk to them and explain the situation. Everything happened so fast, and when Reborn took out the ring I may have panicked. I'm sorry miss..."

Taking the opportunity to introduce herself the officer jumped in, " Agent Scarlett, officer within this military branch, serving Coruscant and the emperor. A pleasure to meet you Sawada Tsunayoshi." Finishing the introduction with a smile made the high-schooler drop his guard a bit more. It was not as scary as he first thought it would be.

"How,.. do you know my name?"

"Your unusual partner told me, Reborn I believe his name was." Sawada's face looked as if he was crying on the inside. 'Ofcourse it was Reborn.' He told himself.

"But why am I here? Why am I cuffed to this table?" The questions finally came out, regaining his common sense he could finally find out what was going on.

"I must apologies once again for your incarceration, we can never be too careful with primes these days. Some are less...willing to have a civil conversation. In the past many agents have been hurt because they approached the wrong primes."

"The wrong primes?" He asked quietly.

The young woman locked eyes with him, her voice was set in a more serious tone as she started to explain, "You are new to the Omniverse, so you will figure out sooner or later, this is not a pleasant place. Out there, there are many primes and other creatures that seek out power. Power to cause harm to others or the empire. These Primes wander the verses as if it was their own personal playground, there is no order with them and do as they please. Some of our less fortunate agents have crossed paths with some of these savages, most of them paid with their lives. In order to protect ourselves we have to get stronger ourselves and be more careful. That's the reason why we detained you like this."

The story had quite the impact on young Sawada, for a while he thought this place was a small paradise where people lived together in peace. It seems he was wrong, and even in this world innocents suffered. For a brief moment he was glad his friends did not come with him, he wouldn't want to endanger their lives ever again. The tenth looked back at the woman and just knew she was telling him the truth, this wasn't a bad person, she had a good strong heart that cared for the people around her, "I.. understand. What do you need to know about me?"

Agent Scarlett stood from her chair and reached placed a leather bag on top of the steel table. Several items were taken from the bag and were placed in a line infront of the mafia heir. The Vongola's eyes widened as he saw his mittens, Vongola Ring and Dying will pills spread before him.

"We want to know why Omni brought you here as a Prime, we want to know what these items are and how they are of use to you as a prime, and most importantly, what will you do now that you have been granted Primehood." The agent asked with a concerned voice.

The Vongola heir didn't even know where to begin. Was he a suspect? Did they believe he was one of those primes that causes problems for others? Speaking as fast as his tongue allowed him Tsuna wanted to set the record straight, "I don't know why this Omni character brought me to this place. I am just a normal high school boy that got in over his head the day Reborn showed up and told me I was the heir to the Vongola family. Ever since that day people have been showing up to either challenge me to that position or take the power of the Vongola ring for themselves. I never asked for any of this, all i have ever tried to do is keep my friends and family safe."

The agent offered a smile once more, trying to calm the young boy down, "It's alright, you're not on trial. So how would you keep your friends safe using this ring and these...mittens?" The woman asked holding up one of the white mittens, not to impressed by the piece of cloth.

"Well, in their current form they are not much use to anyone. But once I enter Dying will mode they change. My dying will flame is able to flow through them and the ring. It gives me the strength to protect the things I care for."

The agent nodded towards the bodyguard who walked up to the chained up boy and took out a small key. Sawada sat very quietly as the guard removed the cuffs and headed out of the interrogation room. "I can see you are good at heart young Sawada. And I myself have things I care for and wish to protect. So, on behalf of the empire of Coruscant I wish to ask you for a favor. Will you lend me your strength, will you help the empire protect the people that live underneath it's wings?"

The young Vongola was never any good in these kind of situations, especially when she reminded him so much of Kyoko, "I erm, yes, if I can, I mean I would if I can." He stammered. "But how can I be of help?"

Agent Scarlett's excitement was noticeable not only though the sound of her voice but by the look in her eyes, " Wonderful! thank you so much. We will go to the Coruscant lab, where we will examine your abilities as a prime. Hopefully to better understand how this mysterious Dying will flame of yours works. You will be in the best of hands here in Coruscant, I will personally take care of it."

"No no, don't go to any trouble, I'm happy to help."

The door opened once again, this time by an old familiar face, "It seems our next adventure is about to begin, get moving No-good Tsuna!" Reborn said jokingly, standing in the opening.

"Reborn! You were here all along?!"

"Ofcourse, I see Agent Scarlett has explained everything."

Tsuna got up and picked up the items from the table, forgetting all about the situation he was in a mere 10 minutes ago he started rambling against Reborn about how dangerous everything had been, that he has to be more careful. The duo started walking down the hallway, but before Agent Scarlett followed she talked into her communicator.

"Yes sir, target acquired, he agreed to it. Yes sir. I will Sir. He will never know."

  Finding Koal
Posted by: Beta Ray Bill - 03-22-2016, 08:14 PM - Forum: The Nexus - No Replies

This trip from Courasnt was all to different, I myself  is now a man out of his time. For all I  did in my past, I end up in this purgatory , funny, those so called stormtroopers all seem to be weak fools who's bright idea is it to yell out their orders in public. Well  at least I know were Koal is now ,Camelot.

Nihilus thought to him self as he transverse the Nexus. The gates all ways seemed to baffle Nihilus every time he saw one, he could feel the power that flowed threw them. Nihilus traveled further for the gate he was looking for.

How can one being have the right to pluck me from my rightful death, I would have been reborn and stronger , those who opposed me would have fallen and clam me as emperor, but no I the Lord of Hunger has been defeated and forced into purgatory or is this hell I do not know.

Nihilus thought to him self walking further and further in the Nexus all most confused of where this gate was he was looking for. finally the gate he was searching for laid out in front of him.

The gate to Camelot, with such power how this interests me, with the knowledge of such power I would be a most prestiges being in my victory  of common battle. I must proceed in finding Koal  he must know of what I have been bestowed of threw the Force.

Nihilus walked foreword into the gate spiraling with energy as he landed in the realm of Camelot.

It's a gun, y'all. 8 rounds in a clip, fires as fast as she can pull the trigger, range of 30 meters. Standard pistol of the ZPD. Completely black except for the insignia on the side, a silver police badge. Can be reloaded rather quickly, in about 4 seconds.
