“I’ll be alright Dr. Sorrel, I know its dangerous but I think I can handle it.”

The tone that Ricter gave off when speaking over the phone seemed fully confident in the skills he had in himself as he walked down the path way leading from Ambrosia towards one of the gates. He had been given some directions to head to a certain location and look for some kind of item, which he found to be interesting but more so he needed this item for a remedy Dr. Sorrel, a close friend of his, needed to make.

Over the phone a feminine voice would speak back to him, sounding unsure and worried but accepting of the fact that maybe it was best he did go on his own and not take someone else with him.

“I know, however I still can't help but worry. Just keep in touch and refer to the picture I sent you if you get confused. I need it to heal the eternal burns from the fire salamanders that stay in the mountains, but feel free to add the herb to your weapon too. Maybe you could even find a means of curing it.”

“Wait, that would just mean you’d have less patients!” The stout complained with a frown while Dr. Sorrel seemed to giggle on the other end of the call, snickering to his reaction and finding it pretty funny.

“Guess you found me out, however it would be a good skill to add too your list of abilities, you did wish to heal all manner of things, yes? Well burns are just something your bound to face.” A true statement, and so far he had been faced with them before, just he choose to heal them fully rather than mitigate the wound and allow for the nurses to finish the job. It took more effort and so he would simply admit defeat at least on that front.

“Fine, hopefully I can be back in maybe a day or two.”

“To hurry along your trip feel free to search for the Gorons, they are a nomadic people of that realm, in their travels I’m sure they ran into the flower a lot, they might be a bit cold at first but if your nice to them I’m sure they will let you come along with them on their travels and lead you strait to what your looking for. The other option is to look for one of King Bowsers underground kingdoms, however from rumors of the king I’d avoid that as much as possible.”

Ricter understood, though he didn’t know whom the Gorons were he would probably find out now. “Alright, thanks, I’ll keep you informed.” After saying their good byes he hung up and would be met with the large gate that seemed almost like a massive portal to some kind of sci-fi related world. Funny enough he knew full well there was something like that around, but this one looked like it lead to somewhere hot, which given descriptions of this place, it didn’t sound fun at all yet he stepped forward and placed his hand on the gate.

Walking strait through he seemed to go past an array of colors and lights, taking him from one point to the other as by the time he came out on the other side he was hit by a blast of heat. He had entered into the Ashen Steppes, a place of such volatile nature that barely anyone lived here, looking out over the landscape it was dark and mountainous.

Rivers of lava flowed in certain locations while a constant smog drifted over where he was in, making it hard to breath at first but he would be fine, the stout more than adapted himself for this mission. Mostly in the form of staying in the hot part of the house for a couple of hours a day, he was great at preparing.

Ahead was a path that lead into an open field, but the field seemed to have spouts of fire everywhere, making him frown as he had no clue where too look, all he was told that he should look in caves and any places with immense amounts of heat. Which just screamed ‘jump in the lava’ or ‘fight a monster inside a cave’.

In fact as he stepped forward onto the hot ground he jumped as the rocks were hot, which normally would leave burns on someone else instantly he just felt a soft sizzle, like trying to step into a hot-spring but not being prepared for how warm it was. To him this place wasn’t as hot, if anything this made him feel like his mild ‘training’ paid off, still unknown that his body was just a lot more durable than it looked, in contrast to his fluffy nature.

“Okay, so the Gorons are around here somewhere, if I find them first they can lead me to the flower, if I find the flower I can high tail it back to the gate.”

He had no intention of staying here, lest he end up in some long standing conflict with someone or something he had no affiliation with prior. Basically he didn’t want a repeat of what happened in the rats town, but he knew in the end it was all for the greater good, so he would stay as long as need be.

Now, taking some steps forward Ricter began to head out on his travels. The weasel was equipped with his sword of course, some swimming trunks he had but never got to really use much, a short sheave shirt, a brown bag to transport the flower once he got his hands on it, and finally a pare of sunglasses just in case he wanted to stare at the lava for a while.

He would begin his hike around the lands in a similar way to how a nomad would view the land, he would search for places to maybe settle, places that weren't as hot and also sections of land that protected against random fire pillars springing up under him. Something very common here by the looks of it.

Passing by cave structures and even large separations in the earth he could guess they wouldn’t wish to go underground, even now he could feel the heated air existing a cave was he was currently near by. Making him wonder who would live down in there but maybe there was plenty that would wish to do so.

Hours would pass as he searched the lands for both the flower and the Gorons, his feet were beginning to hurt, being covered in black soot now making him groan as he flopped onto a rock and began wiping them off with a rag, maybe he should have wore shoes but he had a feeling unless they were made of metal they would melt from just walking around in this realm for too long.

Ricter was starting to get annoyed with the results of this, from rock formations to seeing large critters moving around the hellish land, even large worm like monsters that sprung up from the ground and spooked him once or twice with how sudden they were. He found nothing.

“Ugh this is stupid, no hints, not even a map could help me find these guys. Nor this flower, and I refuse to jump into some lava pit just to go looking for it!”

The mustelid was prone to talking to himself, a trait some people would find unattractive or just plain crazy, but for him it felt as normal as anything else he tends to do on his own. However as he finished and jumped up he heard the clinking of metal and armor near by, it was heading up the side of the mountain near the far side and when looking over a boulder he noticed whom it was, it seemed like a traveling band of adventurers clad in vibrant colored armor and wielding an assortment of weapons and even shields.

Who were they? Should I try interacting with them? Questions a normal person would ask but the stout was way too friendly for that right now, wishing nothing more than to at least get some advice or direction in this realm rather than aimlessly wonder around. Jumping up he climbed over a large boulder and would come towards them, waving.

“Hey!” He called out, causing the party to stop, most seemed humanoid in nature but just as he walked up he noticed one seemed to be a cat.

“Luis?” The weasel murmured under his breath at the small stature cat that stood on two feet, they reminded him of a friend of his but obviously they seemed more or less unaware of who he was so he shook it off. The leader, a man clad in scaled armor, resembling a breast of some kind they probably had slain would address him with a wave.

“Hello traveler, what brings you around here? You don't seem like your hunting for monsters, at least not in that garb.” The human pointed out, not wearing a helmet but his armor was cool enough not to bother with wearing one right now. It would probably only make covering his dashing good looks given it probably wasn’t needed right now.

“Yeah no, I’m actually looking for a flower of some kind, its a herb, its made to basically heal burns.” He took out his phone, showing the trio a picture of the flower he was looking for and hoping for some kind of direction as they moved in close and looked over it before shaking their heads.

“Sorry, beats me, actually have you seen any dragons on large behemoths around? We’ve had very little luck in finding them as of late. The gorgon’s said they were up around this mountain but we’ve yet to find even one today.” The leader asked which brought a frown to Ricters face, but it twisted into a smile at hearing about the Gorons.

“Nope, but I’m sure you will find one, um you mentioned Gorons just now, right? Mind pointing me towards their settlement?”

The man nodded and soon would point down the side of a ridge, off to the east, not too far away but far enough to take about an hour by foot if he walked there. “Near that ridge, they are staying in a camp, they didn’t quite enjoy us coming around but maybe you will have better lu-”

Just as he was finishing his statement a loud roar would rock the landscape, causing even Ricter to draw his sword, looking around. From the left a large dark scaled dragon would fly over head, wings flapping as they were headed past the group over head and up the mountain further, towards a cave that was hard to notice from a distance but soon the group of adventurers would smile and get prepared, holding their weapons.

“Sorry but we have to go now, good luck in finding your herb!”

“Good luck in fighting your dragon!” Ricter gave his response as he sheathed his sword, the trio lightly jogged up the side of the mountain, heading for their prize, in the mean time the stout headed for the ridge where he was to believe the Gorons stayed at for the time being. Probably bound to move eventually, however if he could find his herb in that time he would be happy to get this mission done sooner rather than later.

Posted by: Ricter - 08-07-2018, 04:25 PM - Forum: The Tangled Green - Replies (6)

The flora that dotted the clearing were just as lush and lively as it always is here in the Tangled Greens, from tall jungle tree’s that mixed in with forests, bushes, and other plants- to many other forms of organic light as well that dotted the area. In the middle of the clearing a meadow of white flowers thrived here for some reason, being plucked and picked up by someone who seemed to be taking them into a bag and then closing it once it seemed to be full of them.

Looking around, Ricter inspected the area, he had been sent here to collect a few herbs for the hospital. It would seem their resources were dropping now, and so he was to be sent out on long standing missions out into the Tangled Green’s to find and fetch items for them. Mostly to ensure that they had certain herbs for medical supplies, which he had no problems doing for his boss and for the well being of the people who lived in Ambrosia.

Looking down at the flowers, they were almost pure white along the petals, while the stem was a nice rose color, as well as the little stems that came off the middle of the flower. He’d watch as a small bee landed on it, cuddling and rolling along the pollen laced flower before flying away. Going off to make more flowers and possibly making it easier to find fields like this again in the future.

What he needed was actually the red stems, the petals made for a nice ointment but the stems held a potent drug that could be used as a temporary pain suppressor if mixed with the right ingredients. This would replace the medicine they needed normally and would allow them to better improve trade too and from Ambrosia if they made more of their own medicines and herbs.

Once his trance was broken though he looked over to someone sitting near one of the tree’s on the edge of the tree line. Relaxing there seemed to be a mouse or rat of some kind, he had an all white coloration to his fur, his nose was a pink color while his tail and inner ears had a gray coloration. The male seemed to be asleep, and even more so looked like they didn’t wish to get up as the weasel made his way over to them.

“Simon? I got everything, lets go.”

The rodent would perk up once his name was called, groaning as he looked over to the field and then back up to Ricter who looked back down to him. Slowly standing up and stretching, he was nearly at his height, standing at around 5’2” ft, fairly short but only around the average of a young pre-teen.

“Finally done? You took forever just to pick a couple flowers.”

“Its only been 10 minutes, your just not used to your body yet, probably why you get so tired all the time.”

The doctor informed as Simon frowned, giving a small glare as the previous gangster would dust off his jacket and shirt. Prior, Simon was the criminal boss behind a group of rats that terrorized many civilians, however as he was laying on his death bed Ricter gave him the choice of death or life under him, it was pretty obvious what he picked.

Now, he had a new body, probably made by Ricters own power. Not only this but is soul had been locked with in a gem that was now placed on the cross guard of the sword the weasel wielded, ensuring he would stick by him no matter what unless he wished to die, and given he was a secondary he resented the power that was now held over him.

“Why don't you just fix it? You told me you needed help on this damn fetching quest to get your clinic some weeds. If you really need my help I don't think handicapping me is the smart.”

Ricter raised a brow, mulling it over, at least he was wise enough to know that he purposely made his body less healthy in regards to how much he could do. His immune system was lower, making him feel tired after just small activities, in addition he was physically weaker in regards to just his strength over all.

“You did say you wanted a second chance Simon, so this is it. Besides you’ll be fine, as for the reason why I needed you along, there are certain plants around here that can cause massive defects too someone who walks along. So if I get entranced by one I’d need your help to break out of it, or a better excuse is I nneed an extra pair of eyes.”

Simon scowled at his example, “So you trust me enough for me to get you out of that kind of situation, but not enough to actually fight something. Next time don’t bother lying and just tell it too me strait.”

He seemed stand offish, which was understandable since Ricter was bad at lying, however he didn’t enjoy telling him the truth of just saying he didn’t trust the man yet, mostly because he hadn't warranted trust. Previously him and his sons had caused the destabilization of an entire town, while he was bed ridden and close to death he had ‘killed’ him and took his soul with the promise of giving him a second chance to maybe change his life for the better.

He offered him a new body to cure his illness that he couldn’t solve or fix, at least not at the time. So when it came to the present he was no longer trapped inside of the gemstone that was inside of his sword, instead though he was capable of summoning Simon in his now physical manifestation.

Of which he detailed every bit of himself and how he wished to look, something that took well over a couple hours given how vain the man was about appearances, however it was different from his original appearance. The fact that he was using his real name right now only showed that he knew they were alone, any other time he would address him by something else.

“Lets just go..”

Ricter responded back eventually as they began walking, the two were deep inside of the Tangled Greens, so far in that the tree’s were a different coloration all together. Plants were unique, from upside down tree’s, too simply bugs that resembled flowers that crawled away from them when the two got close.

Simon was walking in behind Ricter, looking up at the sword on his back, the broad sword was large and balanced to be both heavy but easy to swing depending on how you wielded it. It was inside of a leather sheath, nothing fancy, but had a few buckles to ensure anyone could carry what was inside once strapped to your back or side.

Not that he was planning on stealing it, that would only happen if he had enough gusto to attempt to fight Ricter over it. The main thing about the weapon though was the fact that it held a gem stone along the cross guard of the blade, this stone was where Simons soul was located, or at least would be pulled too once he was called to come back.

This could happen at any time, or by his understanding, after a few seconds of the weasel holding the overly large weapon that was nearly as long as his body. From their past meeting he understood what the stoat was capable of, he wasn’t too strong, but hie pelt was like trying to hit a wall.

Even worse was the fact that bullets just bounced off him sometimes, an annoying feature for when he planned on escaping this little hold he held over him right now. Surely he could pout about not being trusted, however he was right to do so, after all who in their right minds wouldn’t think about having freedom once again after someone willingly gave them a second chance at life after old age and sickness stunted their lively hood.

Being the boss of a mafia organization that held power for some long years before being taken down and forced to be like some pet to a kid? Yeah, no, that would be horrible for anyone's reputation, however luckily for him no one knew he was still alive. For all they knew he died in his home of a heart attack, at least that's what Ricter ensured of.

So this was his big break, however the only thing stopping him was the weasel who was currently clearing the path of a few vines, pushing them to the side with his paw. Looking up, Simon noticed the time of day, it was getting to mid afternoon, a time period he recognized after being above ground for a few days. Living underground for years had that effect on you.

“Hey, its getting dark, lets park it somewhere for now before we end up getting jumped in the middle of the night.” The rodent mentioned as Ricter stopped and looked back, both staring at one another for a few seconds before the weasel nodded.

“Yeah that sounds like a good plan, I’ll clear out an area for us to sleep and set up tents, wana make a fire and maybe get some food?”

The offer seemed sound and Simon seemed to give a thumbs up, his face neutral but he showed his support to the idea. “Sure”

After the two had figured out arrangements Ricter got strait to work, he would stop in a small section of flat ground, everywhere was lush with nature and uneven takes to hills and what not. Yet here it seemed mostly like the tree’s made for natural protective points given their large side. In addition the grass was short enough to not warrant cutting it ‘link style’.

So firstly he’d begin by up rooting and chopping away large plants that were in the way, they didn’t need too much room, maybe two or three meters of room to set up some living space and a fire to sleep near. In the mean time Simon was doing just that, grabbing sticks off branches and trying to get some fodder for a fire. Including some dry sticks and twigs to actually use for it..

Both Ricter and Simon carried no real items or even bags besides the one that contained all the herbs Ricter ust picked not too long ago. His plan was simply to make all the things they needed by this odd power that Omni gave him, the ability to just manifest things out of thin air with a bit of though. So after some moments of concentration he would form what seemed to be two tents, side by side with one another. While the other was a little larger for Ricter to keep himself inside.

The fire was lit not too soon after this was finished, starting small as the straw, grass, and plant matter burned and began to be kindled into a small pit of fire that hopefully wouldn’t be put out too soon.

Looking over to Ricters handy work, the rodent remarked on how well ‘made’ the tents were. The tents made for a nice shelter from the cold and possible rain that would come down on them later on in the night. “Nice work, I wish I could just summon things out of thin air. Wait- why the hell couldn’t you just make those flowers just appear out of no where if you have the power to make anything.”

Ricter has explained this to someone else before but was happy to say it again, “Making copies of things don’t replicate the effects or powers of it unless I know what it dose and its genetic make up. Or can replicate the powers somehow myself. Even then me making it wouldn’t really do much but make a deluded fake copy.”

His explanation seemed sound, but given Simon was a secondary he didn’t understand the mechanics of crafting things out of thing air, if anything he was just happy to know the basics of how it worked. However he was also envious, he wanted that kind of power, wanting nothing more than to make and create things that could change the very world around him.

So much power, if he had it in his hands he could very well become as powerful as those Primes who were so notorious no one dared to challenge them or they faced what ever wrath they could bring down on them. However for now he dealt with the hand he was given, but that wouldn’t stop him from trying to maybe pick up a few extra cards from his front sleeve in this ‘game’ they were now playing.

“Sounds complicated, well anyways the fires done. You coming with me to go hunting for food or were you just going to ‘think up’ some burgers for us?” Simon questioned.

“Uh Maybe we can hunt something, taste doesn't improve just because I remember what it is.”

Plus he didn’t want to exhaust himself by making food also, he needed to stay up a bit as well, after all they had to take shifts. Not that fighting would be any more exhausting, however the next question Simon gave would make things a bit more interesting dynamic wise.

“Gona give me a weapon then? I can’t very well hit a deer with my fist.”

“Sure, what did you want?”

Simon smirked, “Just a pistol.”

Ricter knew he wasn’t the swordsman type of person, and besides guns were more effective, faster, and better at almost every range. But giving him an automatic weapon felt like a terrible idea. Especially with what he could do with it. Though he was a little cocky, surely he couldn’t hurt him, even with a fully automatic weapon.

So he’d give it to him, thinking for just a minute or so he formed what looked like a M9 pistol, it was as close as someone could get to replicating how it looked with out being someone who could use it or better yet someone who even wants to use it. Handing it to Simon the rodent would inspect it.

He would take it apart, place it back together, then inspect the clip, “Good job, for someone that sucks ass at shooting a gun its nearly perfect.” Pocketing it, he placed it against the waist band of his back, getting up in the mean time as the weasel was already standing now.

“Alright, we just need something small, berries work too. We don't have too long to go back to Ambrosia but we just need enough food to make it there.” The weasel instructed as Simon seemed more chipper, probably because he finally had something to defend himself.

Especially after the fact that on coming here they had been harassed by multiple animals that wanted to nibble on the two of them. Either way he smirked, “Sure, but I think I like meat much more, lets go hunt something big.”

Ricter sighed at his recommendation, shaking his head as he looked around, with where they were it was best to find small animals or fruits, part of him wished he could go for something big but he wasn’t that hungry, nor was he interested in wasting food.

“Lets just look for food, we can split up if you want.” The stoat advised.

“Sounds good to me, be back when I find something.”

Ricter had enough trust for him to go off on his own, again if he wanted to run away he could just bring him back, however he still felt wary of what he was thinking of doing now. “Well then, see you in a bit then.” Ricter made his way off first, glancing back to Simon as the mouse just waved to him as he left.

Now that he was alone he would look around the camp, examining the tents, searching each one for anything but finding nothing of real use or helpfulness. Since Ricter carried everything all he had on his person was his sword and his side bag with the flowers, or he thought he did, not until he looked into the weasels tent did he find that same bag laying there.

“He left it here? Hm, guess that's smart, don't want it to get messed up or damaged.” Though not smart to leave it here with him, still why even bother to grab it? He could destroy the flowers, though the weasel would obviously find out and either just return him into the gem, or better yet beat the tar out the mouse and force them to go back to the flower field to pick more.

But he had a plan in mind, one that would get him out of this silly situation and also gain his own freedom to ditch the weasel and never have to bother with him again. His plan was to get some monster to maybe come by and ransack the place, he would hide and wait for Ricter to kill it before coming back surprised. If he wasted enough of the weasels energy he would be easier to steal from when they actually went to sleep.

Plus all he needed was Ricters sword and he could make his way off, especially now that he had a few bullets to his name, maybe Simon would even get as far as the gate. If he could make it past all the hazards that dotted this universe alone.

[Semi Final] Bandit & Kerrigan vs Mickey Mouse & Yu Kanda
Posted by: Karl Jak - 08-07-2018, 11:24 AM - Forum: The Dante Verse - Replies (2)

Mickey and Yu Kanda exchanged smiles as they looked out onto a very busy Fight Area.

"Oh, boy, Coruscant-y." The mouse spoke softly as he glanced down to see they were standing above some type of industrial waste pit.

"Brace yourself," Yu whispered as he pointed with his sword toward the far end of the stage.

On the other end of the heavily decorated Colosseum, Bandit smiled as she looked at the sleek turrets and parked fighters that adorned their staging area. "Not a truck, but it'll do."

Colosseum: Battle of Coruscant – ‘Hijacked right from the minds behind the Camelot Colosseum. You are fighting in a duplicate of that classical stone arena that has been modified to replicate the historical ‘Battle of Coruscant’. The floor of the Colosseum has been replaced with a fifteen-foot layer of toxic, polluting chemicals, not unlike those that blanket all of Coruscant. Exposure to these magic toxins will immediately cause the prime to develop a fever that quickly leads to boils, nausea, and lightheadedness. Even after leaving the chemicals, these effects linger. Being in the Dante Verse means you will be affected, and there is no work-around, regardless of whatever reason or loophole you try to create (#DantePhysics). The area at the bottom of the battle zone is littered with the floating remains of broken ships, so there are weapons to be salvaged if you wind up down there.

The action takes place on a series of elevated steel platforms that float twenty to thirty feet over the foul toxins below. These platforms vary in size, shape, and elevation. A few have little shacks or steel barricades on them. There are hooks beneath most of the platforms and a few of them have little springs on them to launch primes around.

There are also four turrets dispersed amongst the elevated platforms. These can be manned by primes and cannot be destroyed by them. Two of these are Coruscant-origin (so they look like turrets from a Star Wars capital ship). The other two are demonic and fire streams of hellfire.

On one side of the battle zone stands the standard of Diablo’s army. Beneath the standard lies a hellish armory of daemonic blades, guns, and other assorted bits and baubles stands. On the other end of the zone is the foul colors of the Empire and an armory filled with their various weapons, both long-, short-, and melee-range.

  [Round 4 - C] Skeletor & Kuzuru vs Pennywise & Shantotto
Posted by: Karl Jak - 08-07-2018, 11:14 AM - Forum: The Dante Verse - Replies (2)

Skeletor scowled. The ambiance was lovely, but the fact that he had just been bludgeoned and defeated by that damn Kerrigan woman had left him in a foul mood. Next to him was his partner. Whether that was Kuzuru or Renji or someone else, he didn't know.

Across the platform, their new foes were a fresh set of freaks. A sneering clown and a female of very small stature.

"Don't get your ass kicked this time," Skeletor's partner said with a smirk before he rushed across the platform.

“The Pit” – The sky is dark overhead. This Fight Area is a 25-foot-long platform, roughly 3 feet wide. In the distance, you can spot similar platforms, but you are constrained to just the one. Below this platform is a literal pit filled with massive spikes. Gore-stained remains of failed warriors decorate the bottom of the Pit and the spiked columns that support the platform.

Defeat your opponent. Be careful not to fall off. You will not get back up, regardless of your skillset.

[Round 4 - C] Jak Mar & Amber Veritz vs Dave Strider & Kenpachi
Posted by: Karl Jak - 08-07-2018, 11:10 AM - Forum: The Dante Verse - Replies (1)

Ash was gone.

Jak Mar glimpsed at the partner Syntech had assigned him and scowled.  Why had Ash disappeared?

Unfortunately, the answer to that would have to wait.  Down the beach, a very large man with an angry look on his face was charging for them.  In the backdrop, a smaller figure approached at a less manic pace.

"I don't know you," Amber mumbled as she drew her weapon.  "I've already had my shit kicked in, and I'd like to avoid it a second time."

"Lovely," Jak replied.

Beach Party – You’re on a pristine beach, like one straight out of Costa del Sol. There’s a life guard tower, some blankets and beach balls, along with anything else you might find at a restor-y beach. The Fight Area is a 60-foot stretch of sandy beach side property (roughly 20 feet of sandy fun and 20 feet of ocean). You can wade out up to about 12 feet deep, but there’s no undertow given the barrier at the edge of the Fight Area. While everything is beautiful where you are, if you look in the distance, the sky is dark and foreboding.

  Under The Cheerful Town
Posted by: Ricter - 08-07-2018, 10:19 AM - Forum: The Tangled Green - Replies (17)

Waking up was hard on days off, mostly because you didn't want to get up, rather stay in and sleep for a couple thousand hours and hope the world just implodes or something so you didn't have to worry about going back to work. Exaggerated, but it was close enough to the truth on how Ricter felt right now as he was currently laying in his room, the door closed while the clock would show that it was well around noon and that he was in a tangled mess of pillows and blankets over his body and head. He only groaned occasionally when his internal alarm clock would tell him to get up but he would try to ignore it, waking up only too see how bright it was outside and around the room before flopping around and then finding a spot where the pillows were the coldest and laying his head on there till it eventually got warm again from his body heat.

He was only in a pare of pjs and a green shirt, seemingly having gotten some clothes to wear, or just manifested it out of nothing like he was getting more and more accustomed too by the day. It had been around 12 days since he came to this realm, and exactly the same amount of days since he walked into that porta and became one of omnis fun little play toys. Granted omni seemed like one of those guys who liked to watch rather than touch so he had no qualms with him at the moment, in fact he was starting to enjoy his life here, it was getting to become more cemented every day and the weasel was getting used to it to some degree. He still wanted to go home though, and would aim to take that chance when given the opportunity, but he was more so happy to just be alive through all the small things that have been happening.

Namely that time he fought darkspawn and ran away to safety, part of him promised he would never go there again but he kinda felt like he should, not just to practice but to also learn about that lotion and why the blight was a thing in the first place. He knew that the way to cure a blight was to fight some sleeping god thing which he had no interest in since well...it sounded pretty intimidating, but maybe if he could find a way to cure something vague like that it would warrant some form of time spent just trying to explore that place. But he wasn't dumb, and wouldn't wish to stay there for any extended period of time, especially knowing the risk's of being captured and what not so he'd stay away for the time being, maybe he could find an instructor? Those didn't come too cheep but he did have the whole week end to do stuff, so might as well find something too do.

There was also visiting all of his friends, namely Elysia, Dovan, Maurice, Luis, and even the moogle twins whom he was currently living with. Starting to get up as he was in the middle of being half asleep and awake, an annoying feeling, he would begin to look around for his hose shoes, a pare of flip flops to walk and scoot around the room in. Yawning he would go into the bathroom and take care of his daily business, brush teeth, comb hair, take a shower, use the toilet and then step out. Looking around in the pockets of his doctors coat he would try to see if he had some extra omnilium in them, like pocket change or something, he'd find a bit, but not too much. Stepping out of the room after putting on some more civilized clothes he seemed to be a lot more awake now, not groggy or reducing himself to just grunts to any form of communication.

Walking down stairs he would notice that everyone was more or less enjoying their day, Vel, a male moogle with a blue ball on his head that was still in his pjs simply watched TV. Flicking through channels and not even bothering to greet Ricter who came down as the weasel smiled. “Good morning, Vel.” He’d say as it was met with nonintellectual grunts, like a cave man was trying to speak but was too lazy to even give it much effort. Only sparking a small snicker at how lazy Vel was on the week ends, looking around his sister Vee, and the one who had a red ball on her head, wasn’t around at the moment. He could guess she was up in the attic tending to her garden maybe, or simply trying to learn more about alchemy which he grew to be very fond of and in a way was happy he was able to learn so much about it.

It was the reason why his sword was so effective at healing others, mostly poisons but still a valid improvement to its normal skills and powers. Enchanting his sword with Vel’s skills using herbs and what not, cures for virus’ and diseases, and potions to make every cut more effective than the last. For which he enjoyed improving on, if it was in defense of his friends, patients, and practically family at this point, he’ do what was needed. Walking into the kitchen area he would look around for something quick to eat, which in this case would be a banana and some toast, munching on it he would head back up stairs and see that the hatch to the attic was down, so the weasel would make his way up there. Vee would hear him coming as the steps were older and made of wood but didn’t break under the pressure he applied to them, since the two residents besides himself flew around most of the time so they never got much use.

As he walked up anyone would notice rows of plants on grated tables that took up most of the space around the attic, they went from one end to the other and most were pushed together to seem longer than they were. On each of the tables she had a potted flower bed that took up almost all the space on each table, and on closer inspection each pot had its own label to them, no instructions though, but she probably knew what she was doing to the point that watering and tending to each one was just muscle memory at this point. Above them were some hanging plants, and on the walls they had a few shelves with more herbs that were scattered there, which was where she was currently tilting her watering can over.

The moogle was similar in appearance to her brother, a gray tint to her fur while also having blue eyes, she was around 2’5 ft tall and wore a simple pare of shorts and a sleeveless shirt as she ensured her herb got watered. Above he would notice that the roof was practically a window, this place looking more like a green house than any section of a home, allowing for sun light to be let in as only the surrounding walls helped keep the place looking somewhat like a home. “Good morning Ricter, its nice to see your finally up, I was worried you were just going to sleep in on a nice day like this. How was work last night? Tiring I take it.” She would ask him as he would seem to answer back with a scratch of his head, smiling a little bit.

“Yeah, sorda, we had someone come in who was missing a liver. We don't know how but we managed to regenerate it for them. That was on top of the small out break of black mold in someones home so we had to cure that too.”

If it wasn’t clear enough already Ricter was a doctor, having gained his job a day after coming into this realm, he was quite good at his job too. Managing to save lives and even cure those who had famous illnesses and things of that nature, always looking for something else he could do to help and or solve the problems that the clinic was faced with every single day.

The turn out, at least for his personal record, was well around thirty minutes to an hour at the most, which could be scaled down if he took special attention to help make sure you were out of there quickly but he also had to go by clinic policy of triple checking and the whole ‘getting everyone’s bio’ thing was sometimes a pain when the people who just came in for a broken arm would like to leave and go back to work the same day if they just repaired it. But it was a good policy, and so he’d stick by it, in the mean time Vee would smile and nod to his previous statement, fluttering over to him as she placed down her watering can on a table.

“I’m glad you were able to help them, wow its been only two weeks almost and you’ve done so much. Are you happy you choose to stay? Most Primes are too busy wanting to try their hand at traveling around, or something like getting into trouble. N-not to say I want to keep you here, you can go places if you want, just uh I’d rather you stay safe and not get hurt, ya know?”

Her concern was valid, he didn't know any of the realms outside of this one, the weasel has heard rumors of what the other realms looked like and maybe what exotic plant life and creatures they had there. But none of that really perked his interest, if anything he liked staying in Ambrosia, it was a nice little city that accepted everyone of any affiliation. Though given the time spent here he eventually heard about certain factions, those who wanted to run entire realms or take over certain ones for their own gain.

This worried him more than anything, that they would want to come here of all places and incite some war or something horrible on the people, better yet do harm directly to people who wanted no part in their silly antics. “You worry too much about me Vee, I’m pretty hardy, its not like I can't take a punch or anything. But I’ll be careful if I have to eventually go out and do something that’s not apart of this realm, hows the herbs and plants by the way?” Taking a small look around she seemed to be harvesting a few, or was in the middle of doing so as she would smile happily at this and go to grab her basket, Ricter walked with her and watched her begin to tug at an onion and pull it strait from the soil it was inside.

“So far so good, with that moss you gave me all my herbs and plants have matured almost every other day now. Its great! Now I don’t have to wait forever to test a new potion or something I wanted to do, also means I don’t have to spend money on a plant mage for a teacher. Though I still felt some kinda allure when it comes to that, oh well.”

Not completely giving up on her idea he could guess she still wanted to try it out, maybe he’d even fund her to go and learn a thing or two, after all she was his friend and he was getting paid well enough as is so why not? Helping her collect some of her herbs and learning how to treat some plants for small things like insect bites he would wonder what kinds of potions she had in mind to make. “What were you saving up all these herbs to make? Must be a pretty big potion if your harvesting all of these.” Ricter would comment as she took out a radish and placed it into the basket.

“Well some of these are just for dinner, others are for a certain something I was cooking up, once I’m done I’ll be sure to let you try it out.” Which raised a red flag for him as he wasn't the type to just drink anything, but she would see the expression he gave and giggle, clearing up what she meant. “Don't worry silly, its nothing bad, I wouldn't drug my best friend.” Giving him a small playful nudge as they both smiled to one another.

They would spend a few minutes simply tending to plant, not really talking too much about them as Ricter surveyed her collection and would look to see just how many she had up here. Given the attic stretched as far as the house did she had enough space for around two hundred different kinds of plants and herbs, but most seemed to be of the same ‘type’, or to put it better they could only be grown in average conditions. So anything special probably wouldn’t work out in this area, carrying her basket for her as they would come down from the attic he would ask about her plants some more, thinking about something,

“Have you ever thought about making little parts of your garden different for certain plants?” He’d say in a more so odd way, but she would understand him and give her ideas back as they waked into the halls and headed down stairs, not before pulling up the trap door to the attic. So it wasn’t blocking the entire hall way.

“Oh you mean like an environmental nursery, right? I have, but again that sort of thing will cost money, so I haven’t really invested in one. The Alchemy shop has one, its fairly nice too, but I’ve always wanted to have my own, you know?”

Nodding, having anything to yourself always felt good, especially if your earned it but it seems she had expanded a nice collection over all with what ever money she had on hand so maybe she was doing well and after a year or more she could get the things she was after. Coming down stairs it would seem Vel was actually up and about now, probably having passed the point of grunting and would actually address the two as they came into the kitchen where he was and placed a basket of veggies on the counter to be cleaned.

“Afternoon, hows the farming going?” Vel would ask, the moogle seemingly drinking a bottle of orange juice with a label having his name on it. Looking at the time it was the afternoon, which only prompted Ricter to wonder what plans should he go after today, their were plenty.

“It went well!” Vee would say, his sister smiling brightly as she ran the water in the sink and began washing off some of them. “Even got a few extra mushrooms, though they might go rotten before we get a chance to eat them.” She’d mention, which was odd that a fungus could go rotten, but they were pretty special and tasted nice from the last time he had them.

But Ricter would offer a solution, “I could cook them now and give them to a friend of mine? If you don't mind Vee.” Which she wouldn’t have to think about, she always wanted to share what she grew with other people, so in this case she was more than happy to agree.

“Sure! Tell me if they like them by the way, oh wait are you heading out somewhere?” Her tone inquisitive as Vel would look over to the two of them, not saying much but Ricter would answer back.

“Mhm I am, decided that I should go visit my friends, see what they were up too. Might even do a quest or two that's on the bulletin board.” Which was a simple board outside in the middle of town for people to place their problems and concerns for a price, it was nothing too amazing but it warranted some looking into as the missions varied and plenty of groups, solo adventurers and rescue teams looked into it every day to see what was on it.

“If you are you can take my mission if you want, my boss has been wanting to find an object that summons creatures. Said it would really make business boom if he could copy its effects and have it to where people can just make their own helpers, kinda skeptical about that since it sounds like he’s trying to fire me but I’ll say he’s probably got something else in mind.”

Hearing out his story he would think that kind of thing would be hard to find, a device or object that summons creatures? Eh, didn’t seem that hard to think of, but Vel’s boss did own the enchantment shop in which Vel was just a simple clerk, so maybe having that he could sell better wares, “Sure I’ll keep an eye out for something like that, so would any kind of item like that do the job?” Ricter would ask as Vel shrugged.

“Beats me, but I guess it would, though I think he might be interested in having a monster spawner, the stuff in games that immediately pop out monsters after a certain amount of time.” His example seemed to be a bit more spot on now, but seemed a tad dangerous too, since if he would have to find a monster spawner then he’d have to fight what ever it spawned. Hopefully it spawned nice butterflies, or harmless critters than some big fat ogre or giant that could step on him and flatten the weasel like a pancake.

Still, “I’ll keep my eyes open for one if I plan on leaving the city.” He’d say while taking the mushrooms and beginning to cook them, adding a bit of seasoning and herbs as both Vel and Vee instructed him prior on how to prepare this kind of meal.

While cooking he knew just who to go too first, and who would probably enjoy what he was preparing for them a lot as well. After all she did say to stop by for tea, though he hoped it was actually tea and wouldn’t taste horrible but he held faith that it wouldn’t be that, now finished after around five or so minutes of cooking he would place it into a container and then into his bag as he looked towards Vee who was still cleaning and snipping off a leaf or two and Vel who was flying upstairs to probably get changed.

“Alright see you two later, I’ll call you if anything happens!” Ricter stated as he would walk towards the door and grab his sword off the rack that was placed on the side of the wall for easier access.

“Okee dokee, see you later Ricter!” Vee would say as her brother followed, calling out from down the hall up stairs, loud enough to still hear, “Be careful if your taking missions off the board!” Which he appreciated the concern but he knew well enough to be careful when it came to anything like that. Waving good bye though he would soon open the door and walk outside, the air was as clean as it always was, a tad humid but he got over that some days ago while the sun was bright and shinny today.

  Dreams of Old Memories
Posted by: Ricter - 08-07-2018, 09:30 AM - Forum: The Nexus - Replies (2)

Dreaming, Ricter was seemingly stuck in his own mind, he had died from the actions less so of his own doing but in a way he kinda knew he might perish in joining some crazy battle royal like that. Something he would grow to regret later on given the amount of time that place took from him.

Odd images began to form around the dark shadowy expanse, images he recognized, shapes that contorted and moved in manners that were all around natural but also just scary in some ways. These images were parts of his past, things he’s gone through, seen before, memories collecting into one large cauldron that was this void he felt like he was standing in.

Moving closer to the images that passed by in what ever form he had taken in this expanse, he felt them drift by, moving along and no longer being really tangible at all, it felt like he was some kind of ghost. Though if these were in fact memories then he couldn't interact with them anyways, but was this a dream? Was this reality? It was a hard thing to discern.

It was here he tried to remember what had happened not too long ago, what he went through and why he was maybe here, thinking about this sort of thing. But before he could even pull his mind into a coherent thought process he would notice something about his past that he had long forgotten. Someone, and something that he had both repressed and forgotten about some time ago.

His eyes would now scan over the fractions of a memory he had long since held but never truly forgot about, watching the figures play out as this image seemed to distract him completely. Looking into it he would soon see both a little girl and a small little ferret like creature, big enough for her to carry with no problem in her arms but small enough that it wasn’t heavy for her.

The girl had black hair and looked to be around her late teens, she wore robes, open ones that showed what she had on underneath. Some pants, a shirt, nothing too amazing, and a pare of soft toe shoes that laced around her foot in a manner that resembled something more old and less of a the new age sandal you see normally.

She was running towards something, hearing loud noises in the back drop as the images began to swirl into a dome around Ricter. Ensuring the entire scene played out as he watched from the confines of the bubble that now formed in this empty space.

Eventually the girl would come to her home, placing down the small ferret that would stand up on its hind legs and look up at her, the girl smiled and bent down to pet him a few times before heading up stairs. The weasel would follow, scampering along and ensuring they kept pace with their master.

Inside of a room they would sit, the girl would be skimming over books and what not, pulling them off shelves and looking for something specific. She seemed to be only after one piece of script, and once she found it, eventually that is, she would begin to mouth out the words and read it off.

No words were said, no sound could be heard besides the moving shadows that clamored around outside of the dome, although no sound was needed. He knew what this memory was, and as he watched on he would sit down and simply let it play on. As the girl continued to read the ferret would sit on her bed, just watching and wondering what she was doing with a puzzled expression and innocent look to the little fuzzy creatures eyes.

Eventually as time went on odd sparkles would begin forming around the small critter, which seemed to be confused by this as they sniffed the sparkles and gently swiped at them with a little paw. Soon, a ring of energy would form around them, making them jump a bit from the sudden formation of light that now boxed them in, the feral critter was startled.

But calmed down as a hand reached down and patted them on the head, causing their worries to melt away, the girl would keep reading. Eventually once she stopped talking the circle would soon encompass the little creature and engulf them in a blinding light.

A light that would permeate through the area for some time before eventually fading, revealing the same little feral weasel however a bit bigger than average, at almost three times the size. However that didn’t stop the girl from reaching down and trying to pick them up.

“My aren't you heavy...”

Ricter would say, mirroring the words that the girl probably said as the large feral weasel would tilt his head and begin speaking back to the girl. It would seem what ever the young magician did to her pet allowed them to communicate back, in addition to making them a lot bigger than average.

The talking would go back and forth for a little bit but soon it would end in the large weasel hugging the girl and causing her to hug them back, they looked happy. At this moment the memory would end, the bubble breaking apart into wispy shadows that dissipated and released themselves to form new memories.

Looking around the shadows were forming again, some in this location, some in another, it was just like before, and he knew if he wanted to experience another he just had to walk over and sit down to watch it play out. Their was something about watching your own history that made him feel odd, like this was all fake but all so real at the same time.

Especially since he remembered this memory, it was so vivid in his mind now that he wouldn’t have forgotten about such an important event. It was the day he was made into a familiar by the witch who was his owner, it was the day he was given a mind to speak and a strong body to help her with.

It was the day his brain began to process things other than who was friend, foe and food. It was the day he was given intelligence and over all what lead to what he would become soon enough, which made him think about this for a moment, but his mind pulled him away from any thoughts he could try to make here.

Looking on he began moving towards yet another mass of shadows and what not. The shadows here were smaller, more compacted but the images were easy to tell once he got close. As like before the bubble would form around him once he got to close and stayed in the area, allowing him to see more details.

Ahead the two shapes began to show a small girl, around the age of five or so beginning to open presents, it seemed like it was her birthday and two adult figures were off in the distance, both watching on but their faces were obscured and even their bodies seemed to be blurry in the vision. There was also a third blurry image, a smaller child, probably an infant.

The child, also having black hair and being a female, would have on cute little pigtails and seem so happy to pull out boxes of presents as she opened up the lids to reveal toys shes always wanted and things of that nature.

However she was given a box with holes in the side and she pointed, asking the two figures that were around her why. Or at least it was easy to tell what she was possibly asking them with her overly dramatic pointing, making Ricter smile a bit. This was a memory his mind couldn’t process at the time but it seemed some part of him kept and retained it still all this time.

She would be given an answer from the two images and the girl nodded, smiling before popping open the lid and looking inside. Her eyes opened up in dazzling amazement as she reached in and pulled out a little tiny ferret, a young one at at that.

She seemed so elated, petting and rubbing it against her face as the small ferret would nibble on her fingers and seemingly enjoyed the attention. She would say a few words to the critter, none that would register in its mind for a while, but somehow he knew what the girl was saying even though he shouldn’t.

“I’ll call you Ricter, your going to be my best friend...”

The stoat stated, filling in the words for her as he began to get sad, not for what was mentioned but missing what he felt was now gone from him. He missed his friend, the life they had together and started on this very day, the day he was currently seeing once again.

He was beginning to recall when Abigail’s parents had picked him up at a pet vendor, they didn’t have a lot of money and couldn’t buy her a dog so they settled for him instead, a simple weasel. Nothing that would break the bank but it was a fuzzy animal and it was alive and tame, so why not?

Part of him snickered at the logic they had for picking him as a pet, especially for what it would lead too, most kids would want a rabbit, or a big dog as their companion. But she didn’t complain, actually she supported having him the entire time he knew her.

Sure kids teased her about having a weasel for a pet, and they always remarked on how dogs were better, or she should get a cat or something. But no, she stayed with him through out everything they went through together and in the end she offered him what was essentially an immortal life with her as a familiar.

He felt lucky, and proud to some degree, but as the images began to fade yet again he would begin to get up once more, the swirling of shadows beginning to form again, allowing him the choice to keep going to look into more things.

“Am I in my own head? I can’t really remember anything that happened before I got here..”
