  waking
Posted by: PepsiYuuka - 07-25-2017, 02:30 PM - Forum: The Pale Moors - No Replies

She rubbed her nose as she awoke. Not to say she was horribly displeased with the smell, but just as something for her hand to be doing.

Vaguely she recalled her dream, but not perfectly. She'd need to work on that one, she told herself. In fact she couldn't quite remember what had happened before she fell asleep, either- a dull pounding in the back of her head told her she had maybe taken some injury that had helped along that bout of forgetfulness. There were the humans, for a bit... She'd fought something, she was sure enough of that. And it seemed by now they'd parted ways.

Sliding her fingers into the hair on the back of her head posed another issue. Though she had really just been doing so to feel for an injury, she was quickly sidetracked by just how long her hair had gotten. For some reason, though she thought she had just cut it not that long ago, it was already down past her shoulders again. Had she been asleep that long? Perhaps. She really needed to invest in something to keep her schedule better, with falling asleep for months at a time being such a serious issue nowadays- hereaplace. Not a real word. She smiled to herself regardless.

Oh, right, she was trying to figure out what she was doing.

She got to her feet and stretched out, ignoring the surprisingly healthy grass underneath her when compared to the rest of the ground. After a moment and a flash, her parasol reappeared in her hands as well. Yup, this was still dark and dreary foggy land. Just as she'd left it. Yuuka pouted a bit- well, she guessed she shouldn't have just expected to wake back up in Gensokyo. Would have been too easy. She clenched her fist again. Still didn't feel too strong, but stronger than before. It was an improvement. Maybe she did just need a good nap. Hibernation.

The noises behind her tipped her off to something wrong quickly. Slowly, she turned on her feet, glaring into the empty space behind her. Ah. It was one of those invisible things, wasn't it? From before. Annoying. Though she wouldn't usually do so, her pose shifted to one more suitable for close range combat.

Putting her arms up in front of her face proved wise- very suddenly, bleeding claw marks covered them. But these things were weak, if she recalled. So she swung her right leg in a kick- feeling the impact and then hearing the sound of the creature hitting the ground. Fair enough. Dusting herself off, she took a couple steps forward, only to feel the creature grasp her ankle again.

"I said be still."

Her tone was forceful as she spat out the command, her parasol arcing down the instant she finished. It hit, once, and again, and again, and again... She lost herself for a moment in beating the fallen thing until she felt its grip on her relax. With a disgusted grunt, she shook her leg off, as if she had stepped in something particularly rancid.

"Well- I didn't say it. But I implied it, didn't I? That's what matters."

Her words rang out as she took a few steps forward, in whatever direction pleased her. However, after a second, she paused, and continued-

"...Who am I talking to?"

Yuuka shook her head. She was going senile, talking to herself. She took a few steps towards a long-dead tree, sitting a moment to gather her thoughts, figure out which direction she was facing, and maybe summon something to fix these wounds. Though at a loss for some instant revitalization device or magical medicine, she eventually did find herself in possession of a small roll of bandages. That would do.

Scouring her brain for the direction of where she had arrived from, she slowly walked that way while applying the bandages to her arms, carrying her parasol with the handle between her teeth. Did she know she could just desummon it? Yes. Did she want to go to the trouble? No. Besides, who knew, there could be more of those stupid monsters waiting for her.

She had finished her bandaging by the time she arrived back at the stone door frame into the realm of pure white. Well. There she was. She hardly blinked as she walked on through, figuring it about time she go see somewhere less dreary and potentially not so boring it put her to sleep.

Joining: Third Character - Gardevoir the Emotion Pokemon
Posted by: Yukika Inoue - 07-25-2017, 12:16 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (1)

Just in case, this is Amber/Dawn joining with my third character. If I could have this account's name changed to Gardevoir, I would be most gracious.

-----------

Character name: Gardevoir

Character Source: Pokemon Series

Character History

Prior to the Omniverse, Gardevoir was owned by a gracious trainer in the Sinnoh region. She would have done anything for this trainer who had been her partner since she was a just a small Ralts. Things changed quickly, though, when Gardevoir was kidnapped by a less virtuous human. She was forced to aid him in stealing other Pokemon without an option of complaint. Without her original trainer, she had to obey he who held the Pokeball.

Just like any other day, Gardevoir was helping aid her new trainer in his malicious intent. She was becoming fed up with the constant shaming of breaking the bond between Pokemon and their owners. She had returned to her Pokeball, but wound up a completely different place. It was completely black and she was unable to speak or move. Omni appeared and soon, she would have her chance to see the end of her malicious ways.

Character Appearance:

Stats:

ATK: 3
DEF: 2
SPD: 2
TEC: 3

Starting Proficiency(2200): Ranged(1000), Remote Control(600), Ranged Materialize(600)

Starting Powers(2500): Foresight(1500), Advanced Telekinesis(1000)

Starting Moves(300):

Shadow Ball(300) - Ranged Prof

Gardevoir amasses psychic energy into her palm, creating a fist-sized sphere of blue and green swirling energy after a second. Once it is created she can maintain the sphere with minimal effort until she throws it, at which point it will fly in a straight line at around the speed of an arrow, dealing damage like a projectile and dissipating into harmless psychic energy shortly after the impact. The sphere can be charged while she is moving but as she must focus she will move at half speed.

  Stupid DnD Idea
Posted by: Dr. McNinja - 07-25-2017, 12:05 AM - Forum: The Arcade - Replies (2)

I had this idea for DnD 5E. It's all clerics. Everything else is customizable and of course we'd have to do something about the skill proficiencies, but we're all clerics. Like, we have different domains, so we're all discount versions of all the other classes. How do you think that would turn out?

  SWITCHING: Cole Tyson to Gaston
Posted by: Gaston - 07-24-2017, 11:43 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (1)

(If calculated correctly, I start with 6516.08 OM)

Character name:
Gaston
Character source:
Beauty and the Beast (animated)
Character history:
Taken from the end of the movie. He died, but was brought to the Omniverse just afterwards. (Will expand in Roster)
Physical Description:
Gaston stands at one hundred eighty five centimetres tall.
Stats:
ATK: 4
DEF: 3
SPD: 1
TEC: 3
Stat Upgrade I (1000) purchased.
Starting Proficiencies:
Physical Strength (1000), Ranged (1000)
Starting Powers:
Advanced Regeneration (2200) Basic Super Jump (300)
Starting Moves:
Blunderbuss (300): Gaston's most trusty weapon! A black gun measuring seventy centimetres in length, with a large opening at the end. To use the move, Gaston must first draw the gun off of his back, an action which takes about two seconds. The blunderbuss can fire bullets at a rate of one bullet every two seconds, and holds five bullets before needing to reload. In order to reload, Gaston must put bullets into the gun at a rate of half a second per bullet, but must then spend half a second placing gunpowder within, leading to a total time of three seconds to reload. This weapon has an effective range of fifteen metres, after which the accuracy starts to dip off. One could still hit a target until twenty metres, though it'd be nearly impossible after that. The blunderbuss cannot reload unless it is completely out of bullets. The shots from the blunderbuss are rather powerful, able to pierce through concrete and even dent metal! This move is not very taxing for Gaston to use, and the bullets travel at seven hundred sixty two metres per second.

French Bow (300): Another one of Gaston's favoured weapons. This is a wooden bow measuring about one metre in length, with a cloth where one would place their hand, paired with a leather quiver on his back. The bow can shoot arrows at a rate of one per second, including time taken to draw an arrow. Before using, however, Gaston must take the bow off of his back, taking about three seconds. His quiver holds fifty arrows, and when they are gone (or he just wants to) Gaston can summon more at a rate of one every two seconds, though his stored arrows may not exceed fifty. The arrows travel at a rate of sixty nine metres per second, and are rather damaging, able to go several centimetres into wood and easily pierce flesh. The bow is mildly taxing to use, and is effective for up to twenty five metres, though after that accuracy starts to dip off.

Knife (300): Gaston's weapon for melee. A small knife, this measures thirty centimetres in total length, twenty for the blade and ten for the handle. The blade is mostly straight and made of a silver steel, with one straight, mostly flat side and one slightly curved, sharp side. These two sides merge at a sharp point at the end of the blade. Gaston keeps this in a sheath on the back of his pants, and it takes about a second to to take out.
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

  Illegal Experimentation
Posted by: James Knight - 07-24-2017, 11:11 PM - Forum: Coruscant - Replies (5)

Quote:OOC: There are no Lines is this quest. This post is 1713/5000 words, according to the site's word counter. According to Google Docs, this is about 1591 words, so I will allow a staff member to tabulate the difference when it is all said and done. This is just the first of several posts that will be done, to cement something that will later be purchased by me, if that is alright.

There are some days that go exceptionally well. Those days are likened to sunshine, and rainbows. To a cup of lemonade on a hot summer day. Unfortunately for Veritas, the day he was about to have was not one of those days. For during the night while he had been asleep an Imperial Scientist had discovered the sound dampening Force Field, and the Holograms he had put into place to conceal his presence, in the place he was squatting. A squad of Stormtroopers numbered exactly thirty had captured him while he had been asleep. In fact, when he awoke he found himself strapped to a heavy metal table, in the middle of the room. His arms and his legs were completely immobilized, and there was a Force Field weighing down on his neck, so he couldn’t even move that, to look around the room. The room was pure white and sterile and was one of the hidden research facilities of the Empire within Tier One of Coruscant.

“So you’re saying he managed to outfox not one, but three groups of highly trained Storm Troopers with this device alone?” asked one of the scientists, to another who was currently dismantling the technology Veritas had used to conceal his presence on Tier IV.  “Yes, this equipment, as primitive as it seems was able to fool our sensors, and also hide his physical presence. It also seemed that he did manage to make something else, while he was down there, as primitive as the devices are,”  said yet another scientist.

“These devices appear to have the capacity to fire tractor beams, or to enable his ability to use them via implants.”  The head scientist said.

Veritas who was only half-alert, and heavily drugged by the scientists was in no condition to do any sort of responding to them, at present.

"We will need to neutralize him as a potential threat, given that he was brought here in similar fashion to the other Primes."  said one of the scientists.

"We could perhaps try convincing him to work for us?" asked one of the kinder scientists.

"No, we should try limb removal, and replace all four with limbs we could control. If he knows we can control his body's movements, and make him punch himself, or choke himself, or things like that, the chances of him being a danger to the Empire will be slim to none."

"But if we do it to him, and he gets mad? He could be a real pain if he knows how to invent stuff, and manages to "fix" what we do to him, with his own technology," said one of the scientists.

"Still, the possibilities provided by an Imperial controlled individual like himself are too heavy to ignore,"  said the lead scientist.

"Fine, but don't say I didn't warn you. I want no part in this," said the scientist who was objecting. The lead scientist nodded, and got out a Westar Blaster Pistol and blasted the scientist who had objected to the treatment of Veritas. It rendered him unconscious, and in no small amount of pain. Other than that, he was unharmed.

An hour later, surgical tools had been wheeled into the room, plenty of them. From hacksaws, to blow torches, to painful looking prosthetic arms, many tools were in the room that were not exactly what one would consider legal to have used on them.

Unfortunately, Veritas was conscious. When he noticed the presence of the tools, he started to shake, and try to break himself out of the shackles that held him, but to no avail. The drugs had sapped his strength, and made him unable to get out of the confinement of the chains.

Note to self, his home was not going to be built here, unless he did something about these scientists who were about to perform what he could only imagine were going to be very painful experiments on his body. Little did he know how right he was going to be.

“Please don’t,”  begged Veritas in as loud of a voice that he could muster, due to the effects the drug had on him, which also made him tired, and groggy.

“Don’t what?” asked the Head Scientist.

“Don’t make ourselves stronger, by taking advantage of your nature?” asked the Head Scientist.

“Oh, but that’s our job!”  He said, a wicked smirk on his face as he began to use the Hack Saw on Veritas’s right arm, without anesthetic of any kind. The doctor was not one who people liked working on him, and as such was not normally used by well, anyone with a brain.

"AAAAAGGGH!" screamed Veritas, as the painful procedure of the first of many surgeries began. The pain shot like hot knives through his nervous system, banishing any amount of any weariness he may have had. The effects of any tranquilizing the drugs that they had pumped him full of had done was now completely ineffectual. His entire world consisted of relentless, agonizing, long term, miserable, pain. Pain that made him hate the Imperial Scientist that was experimenting on him, by attempting to remove his arm. It also made him imagine several ways that he could put a stop to the scientist's actions. Only one of these was legal, and he was in no shape to perform the others, which involved severe bodily harm to the scientist who was currently doing this to him.

If he were to get out of this mess with his faculties in tact, he was definitely going to locate this facility, and plant some explosives here in order to prevent himself from being experimented on in the future. It was a matter of principles, in that he was particularly tired of getting experimented on. While his principles would not allow him to drag the scientist who was currently causing him suffering that would be worthy of a medal in Torture and execute him in a public square? It still didn't prevent Veritas from beginning to say several things, some of which involved wishing that the scientist would get ran over, or hit with a Speeder, or blasted with a blaster rifle by Storm Troopers.

"You know you probably won't even remember that we experimented on you, when we're done," said the Head Scientist, Doctor Kratz.

"And if I do?"

"If you do, what could one man like yourself do to us? It's not like you have an army waiting in the wings, to do anything about it. After all, all we'd have to do is get you put on the Empire's wanted list, and you'd cease to be an issue, you'd be too busy running for your life."

So he couldn't exactly do anything about the scientists, as much as he wanted to. Escape was not an option, and the saw was almost through with his right arm. The area where it had been cutting off was expelling blood rapidly where the arm had been removed, at the shoulder.

"Bring me my blow torch," said Doctor Kratz.

A blow torch was brought by him, and he seared the bleeding blood vessels shut. The searing, agonizing, flames of the blow torch felt like someone was activating all of the pain centers of his body at once, and only redoubled the screaming done by Veritas. With the amount of pain he was in, he was making a conscious effort to stay awake. He was not going to give this "doctor" the satisfaction of seeing him pass out.

“You know you won’t win, right?”

“How cliche,” said the scientist, holding up the forcibly removed arm so that Veritas could see it. As Veritas looked at the arm that had once been attached to his body, that had been totally removed by the scientist, his eyes drooped, and he sunk into despair. There was truly nothing he could do. No amount of science, unless he could somehow build a regenerator of sorts could undo what the scientist had done.

“Torch the arm,”  commanded Doctor Kratz and the arm was loaded into an incinerator. Once it had been destroyed so well that the arm could never be recovered by Veritas a series of painful looking prosthetic arms were brought in. “Let’s see, which one do we wish to give you, as our first experiment on you?”

Two hours later, after a series of painful surgeries and Veritas falling unconscious, a black, sleek metallic looking arm had replaced the one he had previously. The arm could blend in, and look like a normal one, due to holographic cloaking capabilities. For all intensive purposes, the arm was a normal one, albeit one that caused him no small amount of pain.

When he came to an hour later, he noticed the arm. He also noticed the smirking scientist. His arm, which had been unbound by the kinder scientist as a mistake, shot out and wrapped around Doctor Kratz's neck. Banging the head of the "scientist" into a nearby wall repeatedly until he was unconscious, Veritas let go and then started to free himself from the table. Escape was possible now.

Because I am a sucker for anything nintendo brings out with those self-insert Mary Sues we don't feel bad about using and abusing, I am probably going to buy Miitopia. But I'm getting bored of using the same mii that doesn't look anything like me, so I'm going to use a mii that is even less like me.

What do I mean by this exactly I hear you not ask, I'm going to take 'inspiration' from a man you was didn't finish fighting me (please don't continue, I'm scared of you) and add Omniverse charaters into the game.

Edit 17/08: I have decided that I will come on a first come first serve basis for the party, (unless the job who cjose is not available, in which guess you will get priority if you were skipped by this issue) with only one of your characters being part of said party cause fairness and stuff. Though you can still ask for your NPCs to be NPC in the game. :3
