Foible, because of the way it sounds in my head.

Tsunami- because natural disasters...

Oh oh! And petrichor, can't forget that word >.< makes my nose happy and my mind both serene and cleansed.

Words that have a very visceral, vivid sense to them, usually words that involve an action. Stuff like crumple, crunch, shatter, crackle, whistled.

My favorite words come and go, but they usually have some kind of internal rhythm or lyricism to them.

Sonorous - capable of producing a deep or ringing sound.

Palimpsest - a manuscript or piece of writing material on which the original writing has been effaced to make room for later writing but of which traces remain.

The only ones I can think of right now: Volcano and Forest, both because they paint very fitting mental pictures of the thing they stand for, based on how they sound.

I like sarcophagus, mostly because I can imagine the stone lid closing on the "coph". Also, breakfast, after I learned the etymology. (You don't eat at night, so night is like a mini fast. You're breaking that fast.)
