Quote:A typical battleground with breakable platforms in the form of crates, giant stone statues of some power figures scattered around the 120-foot radius arena, the height of the figures ranged from 4 to 12 foot tall. To one side of the area, a few broken tiles, apparently water damaged to the otherwise temple-like stage as a puddle of clear water sets in the slightly indented floor undisturbed. Otherwise, they stood on stark white floors that reflect their images. The edges of the stage are dark, rough walls with various wooden pole-perches, sticking out as if begging to be used to climb all the way up to some mysterious treasure at the top of the 200-foot tall space.

Ash slipped into the room on her left without a sound. The door was a square opening the size of a monstrous bull, the teeth that were the bottom of the grate loomed ominously but had no bearing on the demonic figure that passed under them; her tail whipping joyfully behind. Also behind her, wheeled a red, rounded, robot whose stealth was as impressive as his height. At 3-foot-11 it wasn't all that intimidating in the least.
He pointed his blaster at the jagged wood high above him as he passed under it - as if it would stop it from coming down on him. It seemed to do the trick because it never moved the whole time. Desman's upper torso turned on its base as he moved to follow his beloved demon. "A-"
"Shh!" She cut him off before he had the chance to say anything, and lead him past a sink hole full of water, across the stark white tiles. The puddle trembled as his wheels carried him across the edge of it. It actually went down about 2 feet in the center. He avoided playing in it.
"Look! Tire marks." They heard someone say behind them.
Ash looked back, snarling. "Shit." Then they darted past the water, from statue to statue. Her hook at her hip tapped her ass as she did, her rope looking like a second tail all coiled up against her thigh. Desman followed as quickly as he could, but like his stealth, his speed wasn't very impressive.
The woman managed to yank him out of sight a breath before a short figure appeared at the opening in the wall. Aquamarine was a bounty hunter and she lived for apprehending bad guys. The bounty on these two told her all she needed to know. They were bad guys. "These must belong to that robot." She said aloud, then moved through the gated way; looking around for her prey.
Behind her two cloaked figures. One had ears upon her hood, the other followed in silence. Their reasons were their own, but they all had reasons to follow the strange demon woman and the even stranger metal man.
Ash summoned her cyberdeck in the arm that held Desman firmly by the visor, knowing full well she couldn't silence him this way but knew he was smart enough not to give their position away. Before it even was done, she reached around her Clyde and popped open his chest case. Desman's visor steamed up a bit as he remembered the day this first happened but dared not to say a thing. As the cord was pulled free from his chest it made the faintest click, and again when it was snapped into her deck. If they heard it they didn't let on.
She pulled another wire from the deck, this one wasn't as loud. Its plug was thick, as thick as someone's thumb and as long as one. It also looked like a weird type of skeleton key with branching metal twisting about. She twisted her body to look out past one of the largest statues in the room and while watching the three search for their prey The Storm Demon shoved the metallic key into the Jack-In port at the base of her neck.
Both of them felt the pieces clicking together into place, and then it naturally twists. Thier bodies became one, and she grinned as he allowed her access instead of making her hack him again. Sparks crackled from behind the statue, alerting everyone in the room where she was.
Before anyone could take immediate action, Black Ash walked out into the open, with a grin that stretched out her new face. Instead of bruised colored skin, the figure had synthetic matte burgundy 'flesh' that was only accented with polished black joints and lines that made circuit patterns along her whole body in blue; these light up neon blue in a slow pulsing fashion. Instead of framing her face in soft raven colored hair, there were wire dread locks with the chrome colored tips on the ends and silver bands decorating each length of wire randomly. Her horns, usually facing whoever stood before Ash, now arched up to the heavens; they were plastic like but filled with something that pulses that same neon blue at the rate of her steady heart beat. Her blank eyes were still blank, but a holo screen of blue hovered over her eyes mimicking Des' visor. Lastly, the wire poking out of her tailbone sported a plastic looking pink heart that glows faintly as it traveled from side to side behind her.
She wore the same thing she wore before except for the old pirate style hat: Thigh high black lace stockings, knee-high simple high heel boots, a grey crop-top shirt over a skin tight hot-pink tank top, and finally a pair of booty shorts that barely cover hers and say 'BITE ME' across the back. In her hand, she began to swing the equally as terrifying grappling hook. As a wicked smile formed on her fuller lips and the grating falls behind the two cloaked figures, shadows formed on her face and around her while electricity began to spark to life around her SS-style. Her blank eyes began to glow, and her horns light up to be neon blue all the time.
"Let's get this shit started, then." Her voice was electronic and just slightly higher than normal. Across her screen numbers began to fly by as Black Ash took a good hard look at them all. Revan was the first to attack, notching an arrow as fast as he could properly and aiming. As he did, Black Ash flung her hook over her shoulder as if she intended to throw it away entirely. Instead, it wrapped around the ivory tusks of an elephant god statue. when Noctis' arrow is let loose, she is already swinging back. He let another arrow fly from his fingers, and it crashes fruitlessly against her new armored hide. She vanishes from sight once again, but the crackling lightning can be heard from the distance.
They chase, and as she swings back into view she has already summoned her cutlass with a purple energy blade. More and more like a pirate, her electric form swings towards the man with the bow with swift speed and runs him through the kidney with her new blade. The grin grows as chaos begins to unfold and she kicks off his shoulder.
'So it would seem that Ebony really is the most threatening one.' Desman commented from inside their shared head. He was going over all the information her commlink was sending him. Mostly statistics of the fighters. He made a note that he should work on his observations skills.
'Not when I have you with me.' Ash winked at him internally and enjoyed his blush. 'We should focus on damage... Let's not toy around with them too much.' Her inner tone serious once again.
'Then we should focus on the gem. She is not very impressive, is she?' Desman glanced at her stats.
'We shouldn't focus too much on one, they will use that to their advantage. Strike light lightning: harshly and spontaneously.' She instructed, leaving him with those wise words before landing with her feet on the statue. She climbed up the side of it quickly, aiming to release her hook from the tusks for mobility purposes; putting the cutlass betwixt her pearl white teeth.

Black Ash used:
Desman's Elemental Cutlass (Requires Physical Strength Proficiency):A Cutless made of the same energy as Des' shots, thus also allowing it to change color depending on the dominant element (which again, is just fodder); becurse of the fact that the energy doesn't need to be condensed in this form, the sword is only semi-opaque. The form is based primarily off of a 19th century French naval cutlass but it does have a few changes, like how the blade is two and half to three inches at the widest point, and 11 at it's longest. Needs 0.5 second of concentration to summon but doesn't need any concentration to maintain once summoned. Despite it's unusual material, it's feels much like a regular sword to hold and be hit by.

Desman: 1/2 SP (1 for Fusion)

A lot of people, especially newer folks, don't have as many friends to bounce ideas of off, to tell them when an idea is good or bad. This thread is for that. When you've got that new idea, and you're mulling it over ... and you need someone to talk sense into you. There is NO SHAME in this thread. But there may be brutal honesty!
To start: I've thought about switching out Samus AND Enel many times. Even had folks go "bah, let go of Enel, he's lame". Frankly I may have dropped him if not for third characters, and Meruem.
Anyone else?

It was a rough night. The stress of his upcoming decision would make or break his world. Could he truly learn to live with Faylinn as his wife? Would she ever grow a personality, or would he be doomed to a life bound to a strict know-it-all queen? Would Reglaive's daughter ever forgive him? Would he be forced to live, always looking over his shoulder?
Upon waking, he found things were not as they had been. He was surrounded by a darkness, in which he could feel nothing. His senses seemed dulled, mundane even. The only thing in sight was a faceless inverted silhouette. Faceless except for that smile, that is. It was eerie, and for a moment that stretched on forever, it seemed the figure just sat there.
All at once, it began speaking. Zi said nothing. One does not speak out of turns to beings like this. Abarration, celestial, fiend, whatever this being was he did not know its power, or its origin. He did not know if he could defeat it if the being was angered by his otherwise sharp tongue and eagerness to interject.
Omni, he learned, was apparently a deity of his own reality... pompously named the Omniverse. He even had a magic material named after him. Omnilium. This thing really was as pompous as they come. Zi quickly tried to hide the thought. Omni could very well be both omnipotent and omniscient. All powerful and all knowing. There was no telling if this man-shaped being could see into his mind.
The sorcerer took care to remember all of this information. He stored it away for later assessment, when this being had said its peace and left. Later came sooner than he thought it would. The explanation of this world and Zi's reason to be in it was kept very brief. The silhouette was gone. Zi was left alone in a suddenly bright world, obscenely white with naught but an oddly placed fountain.
... What now?
Ziyadah stood up to take in his surroundings. Standing changed nothing, the vast world around him was seemingly empty, all except for this fountain. As the young man peered into the water, he saw only himself. His mocha skin and amber eyes, the goggles upon his brow and his dust mask were still present. He had fallen asleep with them on, as shown by his mess of hair and the wrinkles of his sleeveless shirt and belted pants. He looked rough.
He sat upon the edge of the fountain, slowly dipping his feet into the water. It felt comforting, like he used to do in the town square back in Yorheim Keep. The ripples distorted his reflection for a moment, but soon enough it was clear again. His reflection was oddly still. The longer he stared at himself, the more confused he became. "Nothing to say?"
His reflection mirrored his words without sound, just as any reflection does. It did not help his chaotic mind process the situation at hand. He could not even sort through the thoughts running through his own skull to pick one, they zoomed too fast, had too much momentum to pin down and deal with. He sat there for minutes, just staring at his reflection, silently asking for help.
"They won't find us here..." The words were not said by Zi - or at least the real Zi. His reflection slowly took on its own life. It blinked on its own, its lips formed words that passed between the liquid barrier. "They'll assume we died. Mom and Pa will be sad, but Meloth won't be stripped of title."
Zi frowned. Confused, he leans over to better look into his reflection. "Why do you think that?"
"Simple," the reflection said. "We just assassinated the king of a war-nation. Everyone knows it was us." Zi nodded, showing he understood that much.
"Assassination then? They'll think someone killed us? But there's no body."
The reflection held up a hand, showing it was empty. "There doesn't need to be one, if magic is involved. Meloth will assume it was a powerful sorcerer... Someone that could simply blip us out of existence. Maybe someone who could cast a Limited Wish spell." Zi straightened back up. His reflection was absolutely right, his Blood-Oath did not work interplanar, and since Zi did not cast the spell to travel between planes, the King would know he did not go intentionally.
"So... our parents get to stay nobles... but I don't have to be confined?" Wait... "I'm not... bound anymore... I'm.... I'm free? HAH!" He leaped from the fountain, his wet feet slapping on the white floor of the Nexus. Immediately, he stopped. "Well, what now? This place looks so... empty."
"Maybe it's just big."
It was a possibility. Zi squinted to look out into the distance. Sure enough after a moment, he discovers a little dot on what he would call the horizon. "Holy crap, is this... a room?"
"It would explain why there's no sun." That was also true.
"So we'll go see what's behind door number one. Thanks Ego."
"Wait," the reflection said. "You should wash up. Mother may not be here, but I will not have us parading around with drool on our face and an afro full of... is that a stick? How-- eh. You know what? I don't want to know. We want to make a good first impression, so please tame that bird's nest."
Zi snickered. "Who knew my logical side would be such a prat?"
"Your logical side is why you are almost a sex icon..." He had a point. Ego did make him put in the effort to look good and take pride in his appearance. "Hair, face, then run. Maybe we will find some hair gel in the nearest town. You have our mother's hair." Zi's mother was a dark skinned woman with a head full of tight curls. Her bedhead was absolute chaos in the mornings. Zi's hair was a spitting image.

Gaston walked through the gate he had found, and instantly a sense of falling overtook him. It immediately reminded him of when the beast threw him off of the castle, killing him, and began to panic. Had it been a dream, and he was now waking up? But as quickly as the sensation began it ended, with Gaston ending up in a strange area. There were buildings, taller than any Gaston had seen before, even taller than the beast's castle. And they weren't made of any familiar material, they were seemingly made of some kind of steel. Gaston looked around, an expression of awe on his face. But he quickly straightened his face, focusing on the task at hand. He needed to find Belle here. And he would, regardless of what anything here was. Suddenly, an idea hit his head. He felt an unmistakable round object piercing at his thigh, and reached down, pulling out the mirror that he had used to see the beast. The burly man looked at it, speaking clearly.
"Show me Belle!" And yet, it remained as a normal mirror. Irritated, Gaston repeated himself. "Show. Me. Belle." Again to no response. Looking around, he began to move forward, trying to see who was here. Nearby there was a group of young girls, one looking at a small box in which the reflection of a man was seemingly falling off of a house. Perfect!
"Excuse me!" Gaston greeted the girls. One looked at him, a look of disgust and slight fear mixed. "Where did you get that mirror?" He pointed at the box.
"Um... at the phone store?"
"Where is this 'phone store?'"
"Why do you expect me to know? Geez, go find it yourself!" Gaston was slightly taken aback by their rude reaction. They acted like that to him? Gaston! Shaking his head, he walked away, hoping to find this "phone store." The man then approached a nearby man, who appeared to be wearing a full-body metal armour.
"Sir! Please, show me where the 'phone store' is!" The man didn't respond, and Gaston looked around him, seeing that he was... sleeping? There was nothing within the eye holes, and the mouth was open, but blank, as though his teeth and tongue were gone. Shaking his head in disbelief, he walked away from the man, looking at every building he could. Soon, what seemed like a miracle happened. He saw a large building, seemingly a shop, with a sign saying "phones" on the side. Running, Gaston came into the building and pulled his mirror back out. Immediately, the man went to the counter and smacked down the mirror. A woman behind the counter looked at him, confused.
"What do you want?" she said, in a rude voice. Ignoring it, Gaston replied:
"Please, enchant this with the magic of those boxes!"
"You want me to make this thing a phone?"
"Yes, if that's what those boxes are!" The woman sighed, and took the mirror into the back of the building, speaking as she went in.
"Listen, this is gonna take a few hours. Wait here, or leave and come back. I don't give a shit. Just come back for it, and pay me." And so, Gaston waited. And waited. For quite a long time. And yet finally, she came out, handing the mirror to Gaston.
"There. It's got the abilities of a phone. Now, that'll be 5000 credits." But by the time she had finished speaking, Gaston had already left, fiddling with the mirror as he walked down the road.

Reasoning: I just feel like I've been playing him inconsistently, and I'm no longer sure of where I had planned on taking him. I've been playing him too cautious as a character to be holding such lofty ambitions, and I feel like I haven't done him justice to the idea I had of him originally.
That said, the concept I invented him with didn't really work either. He was a non-sadistic but still vengeful villain who was also a patient benevolent (sometimes) chaos god who disliked disorder. He was just too many things at once. He appeared in the webcomic I wrote him for as the surprise final boss, and most of the background and nuance I've given him has been for the sake of the Omniverse, in order to try and save him from being totally flat and confusing... and I'm kinda tired of it. I still like the character, but I no longer want to write as him.
Larfleeze seems right to me. I'll still get to play a villainous, arrogant, asshole with high ambitions, but have a lot more fun doing it, while not having to pretend he has some kind of deeper ulterior motives. Larfleeze is also a fun character in general, with some better defined issues to play with.
Chakravartin current OM: 12421.16
12421.16 - 5000 / 2 = 3710.58
3710.58 + 5000 = 8710.58 new Starting OM
Character name: Larfleeze
Character source: DC Comics
Character history: Larfleeze was part of an interstellar band of thieves who roamed from place to place, taking what they wanted from others. However, their greatest heist was stealing from a group known as the Guardians of the Universe. They stole a box containing a Fear Elemental, and a treasure map. The Guardians managed to catch up to them as they raced to find the treasure on a war-torn planet called Okaara in a place called the Vega System.
Soon, only Larfleeze and one other of his band remained, the rest captured or killed by the Guardians. Larfleeze and his friend proved to be too much trouble, however, so the Guardians offered a deal: If the two remaining thieves returned the Fear Elemental, the Guardians would allow them to take the treasure the map was pointing to, and would leave Okaara, and the Vega System as a whole, alone, giving Larfleeze and his comrade an entire space sector to themselves.
Larfleeze agreed to these terms, and killed the last other member of his band of thieves, and claiming the treasure and the Vega System for himself alone. The treasure was a mystical object called the “Central Orange Power Battery”, an energy source that contains the very essence of Avarice. From this power, he forged a Power Ring, similar to the tools used by the Green Lantern Corps run by the Guardians Universe. He thus became the first and only Orange Lantern.
He used the Orange Light of Avarice to reign terror on the Vega System. The nature of his power is that of endlessly taking, and making everything he sets his eyes upon his: He stole from every empire in the Vega system, acquiring wealth, riches, art, and slaves.
He became known as the “Beast of Okaara” the equivalent of Satan for the peoples of the Vega System. However, the orange light began to drive him insane. Soon, he lost the capacity to feel other emotions- not lust, not hope, not sadness. All he had left was pure, unadulterated greed. In this state, he found himself unable to leave the cave where he stored his gathered treasures. His greed preventing him from ever leaving it unguarded. For millennia, his paranoia kept him trapped with his hoard. He faded into myth, alone in his cave, until the people of the Vega System knew him only afrom legends and old religions.
It was from this sad, stagnant existence that he was pulled to the Omniverse.

Starting Moves (900):
Construct Lantern (300 OM) Homing, Ranged Materialize

Larfleeze raises his Ring and calls for a Construct Lantern to come forth. The ring will begin to glow: and then a Construct Lantern will appear. The Construct Lantern is made of emotional energy, and materializes from the Ring in an explosion of orange light. This process takes about ten seconds. He is only able to control up to three Lantern Constructs at once.
Larfleeze will create his Construct Lanterns in the image of a creature or person he has killed before, as he feels he ‘owns’ their identities. But on the whole they are humanoids made of orange light, and attack either through punching or kicking. They hover just above the ground when they move.
The Construct Lantern is created with a specific “Want” in mind, which Larfleeze must focus on when he calls them forth. They will mindlessly carry out this Want until they have either achieved the goal he had in mind, or are destroyed. This goal tends to be very simple, usually something like “Attack them!” or “Grab that thing and bring it to me!” or “Make me lunch.”
A Construct Lantern is physically quite weak, only able to attack with regular human strength (2 ATK for reference) and will shatter if hit with more than the force of say, a baseball bat impact. They are not intelligent, and will follow the simplest path toward achieving the "Want" they were programmed with. They have enough AI to move around obstacles and to attack things that get in the way, but they aren't capable of considering much else.
They are essentially mindless zombies he's able to summon at will, except that they can fly.
If one is destroyed, he will be unable to replace it for an hour.
Claw of Orange Light (300) Ranged, Remote Control, Ranged Materialize, Telekinesis, Area Attack, Area Defense

Larfleeze raises his Power Ring, and in an explosion of orange light, a thin line will shoot from the ring. At the end of this glowing line, a large energy construct of his clawed hand will form. The hand is approximately four feet long from palm to finger tip, and three feet wide at the palm, with claws adding another foot to the length. He is unable to physically move while using Claw of Orange Light, focusing hard on his wants and needs. It takes about a second to create the claw.
He is only able to extend this beam and the claw 100 feet away from him. The further it gets from him, the more fragile it becomes. Within five feet, it’s as durable and unyielding as stone, while at its limit it's only as durable as thin glass. If destroyed, it will shatter like glass, then the shards will vanish. He's only able to move the hand about as fast as he can run (burst movement does not apply to Claw of Orange Light) After it is destroyed, he will be unable to recreate it for two minutes.
Ophidian Shield (300) Area Defense, Remote Control, Ranged Materialize

Larfleeze raises his Power Ring and in an explosion of orange light, an orange thread of light will shoot from the ring, and from the end of this light serpentine form will spring forth. This snake construct will then coil itself around Larfleeze or whatever he wishes to protect. The snake is somewhat slow-moving, and is more durable than his usual constructs, able to protect whatever is inside it from the force of a small explosive or perhaps a dozen bullets before breaking. It takes about two seconds for it to form, and if destroyed he will be unable to bring it back for two minutes. It is about three feet tall, three feet wide at the head, and forty feet long to the end of the tail.
He must remain in one place and concentrate in order to control its actions, should he be distracted, the snake construct will not move until it is destroyed or Larfleeze calls it back. He is only able to summon the Ophidian Shield within 100 feet of him, and the snake is only able to move at about 6 miles per hour.
He can use the snake to attack via its jaws or constricting around something, but the snake is so slow that the victim would have to essentially be holding still for the attack to be effective.

just wanted to say the Confederacy of independent systems is awesome.
If anybody wants to discuss them or Star Wars in general I'm happy to do so.

When surrounded by endless darkness, any show of color or light becomes an even more beautiful display of both. Contrasted by the black background the colorful fiery wings carried Jakob among the winds of an unknown world.
He floated on rainbows. He could only tell that they were his, but nothing more. Jakob could feel them flap in slow motion, but could not tell you if they were that of angel's or like a dragonfly’s. In fact, when he looked over his shoulder, the colors distracted him long enough to not remember what he was doing. Instead, he found himself mesmerized by the ever changing strokes of vibrant paint that are left behind in the after-image of the slow beating wings.
He looked out in the darkness, but couldn’t see any glimmer of light. As if his wings had carried him into space to fly among the falling stars and the cosmic gods.
Jakob felt free. Free from life’s messes, from responsibility, and most importantly…
Free of pain...

I just wanted to say thanks to Adam. He's put in a lot of great work for dark data, as well as plenty of admin work, and worked to make the site really enjoyable even though he didn't have to. Let's show some appreciation for this awesome guy!
