You like having more people to play with, right? That was a rhetorical question, because having more people to write with is awesome. Do you also like OM? If the answer is 'yes', which OBVIOUSLY it is, then please vote for us on the following sites!

RPGfix (every 12 hours. If you register, your votes count as x2. Worth the couple of minutes to make an account if you're going to be voting every day)
Top RP Sites (Daily)

When you vote, please post here with your total vote count for this month. So "Voted: 1", "Voted: 3" or whatever. Just keep track of 'em. For our counting purposes, clicking vote on both sites, or on RPGfix if only that is available, counts as 1 vote. If you post less than twelve hours since your last post, we won't count it. This means you can get up to two vote counts a day if you vote exactly every twelve hours. Simple? SIMPLE.

At the end of the month, if you posted ...

7-13 times: You get 100 OM.
14-23 times: You get 200 OM.
24+ times: You get 300 OM.
Every day: You get 300 OM, and a high five from me for being so damn diligent.

If you have an alternate character and wish to claim your reward on that account as opposed to your main one, please let us know in the topic before the month ends. If you don't, we'll assume you want the OM on the account you posted with.

We're going to trust in this that people actually click the links and don't just reply. I mean it only takes a few seconds to click these links anyway, but if there's a discrepancy between the posts here and the number of votes, and people really want to try and scam their way to a few hundred extra OM without voting, then we'll just remove this. Capiche?

Thanks for voting everyone! If you have time, please also leave a vote and review for us on Top RPG sites (once only).

Along Came a Gildarts - Ambrosia Awaits
Posted by: Gildarts - 04-30-2015, 03:47 PM - Forum: The Tangled Green - Replies (2)

“That was a cold adventure...” Gildarts didn’t look behind him as he shuddered from the memory and his warmed joints grew glad. His time in the Frozen Fields had turned his lips purple and now the blood began to draw back to the surface of his skin, reminding his muscles of the circulation his body demanded. With every warm step, some part of his iced-over body began to melt. After a while, the last thing to dry was his black cape, that flapped in the light breeze with his every step.

It seemed as though he had wandered into what appeared to be a forest-type setting and glanced around. This wasn’t the Nexus. Hm, maybe he had passed it. As his experience grew and his journey continued, he thought he had known a little more about which direction he had chosen to take. Apparently not.

Acorn shells crunched under his toes as he stomped heavily into the ground, tired from his tedious adventures. He heard an explosion in the distance, one that shook the very roots of the trees that surrounded him. The hair on his neck bristled as he heard a plummeting high-pitched whistle. Something descended from above, the wizard immediately crouched into a braced position. His hand held high in the air, and he saw only an acorn slowly making its way toward the ground. For a second, the Prime seemed perplexed, he had sensed danger and felt his thawing brow furrow and watched as he expected the acorn to lightly drift to the ground. Suddenly, an explosion! It didn’t take long for him to realize the acorns were imploding like grenades and as one hit the ground, it only shook more of them free.

Bombs of fire chased him from the area as he dodged the many trees that curved along the path. There was seemingly no escape, but his pace slowed as he inhaled the fragrant scent of pine. With great triumph, he held his chin high and the ease of the challenge he had overcome surrounded his shoulders. It was too bad there was no one else around to see how he had skillfully evaded the attack from above, especially when he didn’t even have to battle in opposition. His boasting grin grew as he wandered forward and through the forest that seemed to only grow thicker. There were no trails in sight, nor could he pinpoint the exact direction he was going in. Gildarts, the mighty mage of Fairy Tail, was lost.

He looked around for the spot he had taken the wrong turn at, but he realized he may have even chosen the wrong verse. Darn that Nexus, everything looked the same. I may have even taken the wrong gate. Oh well, I think I’ll ask this local... His thoughts trailed as he approached someone picking a spiked fruit from a tall tree. They were standing on a ladder but the forest dweller was quite evidently nimble. The woman around twenty-five wore clothes of cobalt and her head turned to see the mysterious man approaching.

“Excuse me, uh..” he pondered for a moment as he thought he saw the back of someone’s head, “Could you offer me some directions?”

The middle aged woman smiled, it wasn’t often she saw outsiders this close to town, “Sure where are you going?”

“I’m trying to get to the Black Gate.” Gildarts said as the taboo topic impressed a weight upon the woman’s face and warped a distorted expression as the Prime received a nasty retort. His ears rang as he heard the shrill woman’s yell and he rubbed the side of his head to bring the life back to them.

“Huh? What do you mean its not a real place? I’m trying to go there!” Gildarts didn’t want to hear no for an answer.

“That topic is taboo here!” the scowling female cast a look over her shoulder as though the trees were whispering with the rattles of wind, “The thing you wish to see doesn’t exist. Unless you really wanna see it that bad? I’ll show you with this banishment circle! Prepare to meet Diablo!”

The fiery secondary woman held up her self defense, a black orb of spiraling death. Where she was from, the orb was better than any pistol or pepper spray. “Stay away Prime! Or else!”

“Huh? I’m not gonna attack you,” his voice rumbled in tones of nonchalance, but this only peaked the woman’s interest. She raised her arm as though her fingers were itching to banish the evils of man.

“Oh no...” Gildarts muttered to himself as he scratched his itching nose. The woman seemed to smirk with satisfaction as she got the man to admit defeat.

“I thought so.” she said with a smile and placed the un-deployed black hole back in her pocket.

“I’m gonna sneeze, you may want to stand back.” Gildarts plugged his nose and warned the woman, whose quizzical look was enough to state her curiosity. What a strange man

“Ahhh- Ahhhh...” The tremors in his nose seemed to fade and after he was sure he had evaded the sneeze, suddenly the tickling sensation rose in his nose once more.

“AHHHHHHCHOOOOOOO!”

The Prime released a loud sneeze and sent a burst of air in the direction he had came from, suddenly the earth beneath their feet was uprooted and the smell of fresh soil mixed with the air.

A huge chunk of the forrest’s trees seemed suddenly shaken or overturned. Fruit that she had spent days trying to pick and loosen from the stems suddenly fell to the ground in enormous piles at the base of the trees. Despite his clumsiness, he caught the woman who swayed on the shuffling latter until she safely landed in his arms. Her cheeks were painted rouge as she quickly leapt from the powerful Prime’s clutches and the horrified secondary ran from his sight with her expression morphed into one as though she were about to scream.

“Jeez,” the oblivious Gildarts rubbed his nose, “That was bad timing. And I didn’t even get the directions...” Instead he followed the woman to where she was running, maybe she fled into a town that would have a map or potentially someone with more helpful insight.

He dared to look over his shoulder to gaze amidst the destruction he had wrought and saw only piles of prickled pomaceous fruit. Gildarts plucked one from the pile and bit into it, only to taste a sharp sweetness that caused him to gag and recoil with a crinkled nose.

The Prime followed in the tracks of the secondary into town, as she alerted the her sister of her experience by shouting about a mad Prime that will bring destruction to them all.

“TRISHA. You said the same thing happened last week, get oover it.” Her sister groaned as Trisha cried-wolf once again.

“No but it REALLY happened this time! You have to believe me Nama.” The oldest pleaded with her gasping breath.

“No Prime is going to destroy us, or don’t you think our leader is good on her word?” Nama, a woman of about twenty, rolled her eyes at her panting sister distastefully.

Gildarts approached on a path into town carrying a heavy basket, it was full of the prickled fruit and was piled high over his head.

“Whose that?” Nama’s eyebrow rose.

“Thats... HIM!” Trisha shrieked with terror and was frozen with fear as Gildarts drew closer and set down the heavy mound of fruit. Without knowing it, he had saved Trisha a month’s worth of work.

“There.” Gildarts said with a content breath as he relieved the weight from his joints.

“You dope! This was the only GOOD part of the forest after the blight! Can’t believe you ruined it.” Trisha sent an angry punch into where his arm would be below his shoulder and her knuckles met only metal. CLANK! The impact of her strength caused her whole body to become rigid as the frenzy zap jolted from her head to her toes and caused her hair to burst on end, much resembling an animated lion.

“Hah, I don’t know,” Nama smirked as she grabbed an fruit from the batch and took a crisp bite. She spoke with a mouthful, “I like him, I think he suits you.”

Trisha sneered to her sister and the man had already walked off in search of someone to give him directions. Gildarts had unknowingly entered the town of Ambrosia.

...

Fiore? Gildarts looked around and the scent of crisp leaves blew with the wind. Gildarts shook his head and the thought of home dissipated as the stone cold reality resembled brick houses and pebbly streets. Can’t let it get to me... This is just like all those times before, nothing’s changed, and yet... Gildarts reminded himself and let the nostalgia that had he felt rise in him pass as soon as it had made itself known.

The outsider walked through the town of unusually young people, who all turned their heads to see whether the intrusion was one of a threat. He was met with a bit of ridicule, considering their last scare and the things that may follow with his arrival. Ideas swarmed in their minds, some very optimistic as they hoped to gain some warriors to defend the town. Some negative, such as inviting adults to the town would only assure betrayal, as their parents had all ditched down for Camelot. Still, some found a balanced ground on the mystique that swept with the breeze that followed him. Was he a harbinger of death? One person in town rose above the others and noticed the distinguished man passing in the streets as well as the citizen’s reaction to him.

Suspicion rose within her, the man had a cape and didn’t look very friendly. The Prime was not very well received by the youth inhabitants yet it was not because of his age or stature. Something trailed in his footsteps, perhaps an omen? Something ominous fluttered with his cape that couldn’t be shaken by the breeze. Just who was he? And why was he here? Sylvia would find out as Gildarts found himself being approached by the tattooed woman.

His eyes sized her up in a polite sense, but he could never be too careful considering his current predicament. The Omniverse was full of people who could desire to hunt and kill him; Gildarts would have to rely on something much more than a glance at his could-be enemies if he wanted to survive. Women were more ruthless adversaries than any man had proven against him. Not to mention things were not always as they appeared and he wasn’t willing to take a guess at a confrontational woman’s opposition for she could hold a hidden amount of tremendous power. So, he watched her tattoos, not very much like the one on his chest as he tried to figure out what guild she was in, but to no avail.

“Hello, not to seem rude or anything, but what business do you have here in Ambrosia?” Sylvia had guessed the worse and would leave nothing to chance -for it could mean life or death to her citizens- and she stood before the mighty Gildarts with no fear. Sylvia was driven by a strong emotion and loyalty to protect those she had grown to care for.

Gildarts admitted to himself that she was impressive, but she bore no mark of a guild and had to wonder if she mentioned it, “Ambrosia, is that what you call your guild? Oh, sorry, I’m Gildarts.” He flashed a half-way smile that showed only how many long and weary hours it had taken him to get here.

“Guild? Ambrosia is this town! Or don’t you know where you’re walking?” Sylvia said with some gusto.

“Oh, uh. That’d actually be the problem,” the simplicity in his manner seemed to settle the woman’s ease, if not just by a hair. “I’d like to speak with your town leader if I could, it’s a matter of urgency. I hope they are an experienced secondary, or a Prime, as I’m told that my questions can’t be answered by someone who hasn’t been here at least for a few years.”

“Humph.” It didn’t seem like this big and intimidating Prime was anything more than an oaf, but Sylvia had to know if the guy was serious and tested his resolve, “What gives you the right to come strolling into town and requesting an audience with her, she has other things to do than deal with someone who has a few questions.”

Her challenge seemed to go over his thick and oblivious head, either because he seemingly didn’t register it as pertaining directly to him or other things were on his mind, “Oh, and sorry about your uh... Orchard. Can’t exactly help it when I sneeze.” He hoped he hadn’t caught a cold from that deserted wasteland and pushing himself too much, his injuries however, had seemed to rewoven into his sleek skin rather nicely.

“WHAT?! What happened to the trees?!” Sylvia’s shouts could be heard echoing down the corridor and bricks reflected them right into Nama’s ears.

“Sounds like your friend there has met Sylvia.” Nama spoke to Trisha who ran up behind him to hopefully explain for him, because the stranger really seemed to suck at doing it himself.

Gildarts wasn’t sure how many days he had endured without sleep, man it had been a while, but he couldn’t find it within himself to sleep for recreation. Sleep, however conventional, took time he didn’t have and he had overcome many sleepless nights on his missions where only evil crept in the darkness, and a break couldn’t be caught. No, not here. He wasn’t on his last leg yet... But he was pretty close to it. There were no signs of fatigue other than the seemingly corrosive strength in his muscles. As far as Sylvia or Trisha could tell. the Prime was in the best shape of his life.

Sylvia caught sight of her and warned, “Trisha! Stand back, I think this guy is here to attack our-”

“No, I met him earlier, he would have attacked on first sight had he wanted anything near destruction for this town. He’s not one of the people coming to attack us.” Trisha spoke sincerely and Sylvia weighed the expression on her friend’s face. The woman’s eyes then cast back to the Prime, who hadn’t heard a word of it, but she couldn’t possibly know that based on the determined look he maintained on his weathered face.

“What happened to the trees?” Sylvia asked the intruder, her patience wearing thin. She was intent on catching a threat before it became a problem, unfortunately, that threat was Gildarts who snapped back into their conversation.

“Oh, I accidentally bumped into a few, lots of those fruits fell, but they aren’t my type. Tasted funny. Too ripe or something...” Gildarts remembered the taste on his tongue. Never in his travels had a fruit resembled that.

Trisha interrupted him, “He actually saved me some trouble of picking them all myself. I think this Prime is new to the Omniverse and would be worth taking to see the Princess-”

“I’ll be the judge of that,” Sylvia was still determined on hazing him, how else could she tell guu’d from evil? “Oh great, a new one on our hands? It’s the inexperienced that are the worst. And lemme guess, he wants to be briefed? You’re immortal, get over it. As for the fruit, I’m not sure I buy into what you are covering up but I think I’ll look into it later. Also, Prime, those fruit are poisonous if not eaten when their skin turns purple. You probably ate a green one.”

“Poisonous!” Gildarts spit out any remaining film on his tongue. Good thing I didn’t swallow.

“Yeah, fortunately for us, we know the secrets of this land and it actually works as a bit of a defense tactic. Fields of false gold for intruders and the like but who would suspect it would be camouflage? Nature works in mysterious ways, after all. We just play them to our advantage. Lucky for you you aren’t dead right now. So then, I have another question. Who are you and what do you want to see our leader for?”

The Fairy Tail wizard was still wiping off the taste from his tongue as he was beckoned to reality, it seemed Trisha had come from no where again and this time had been on his side. Maybe punching him in the armless armor had an effect? Or maybe she just wanted to see him locked up. Sylvia’s demanding question rumbled in his ears as he saw it. She fought for the safety of the town with careful caution she squandered from within; for there sake, she was even daring to be on the front lines against a powerful mage like himself. He responded to her with only four little words, “You guys have spirit.”

“Wha... What?” Sylvia said, “What kind of...” Gildarts seemed now, to be smiling more than he could. His eyes kindled with inspiration and he knew why he was reminded of Fiore when he stepped into town.

...

Somehow he had managed, with charm or just with a stubborn grace, to persuade them. He now found himself near the great mansion’s doorway. It was huge, center of town, and surely its capital building.

Sylvia still screened him, fearing he was sent by the mighty Gilgamesh (as their names were acutely similar) and wouldn’t let him immediately see her. Sylvia found Guu and had left Gildarts a way aways with Trisha. Hope that girl doesn’t do anything she’ll be sorry for. It didn’t occur to Sylvia that her thoughts were on protecting the town, they just were instinctive. When Sylvia had left them, they seemed to be in a thick conversation about some sort of dragon, but who could care about one of those... Unless Gildarts was part of the team that had slain Rathalos. So many unanswered questions, they could hopefully be answered with Guu’s judgement.

With a knock on the door or the equivalent, Sylvia approached Guu with a perplexed emotion that didn’t fit her normally soothed face. It wasn’t discomfort or anger, but it was unease and urgent that were distinct in the rushed tones of her voice, “Guu, there’s someone that would like to meet with you.”
...

Gildarts remained where he was, thick in conversation with Trisha; they spoke about adventures and stories and all sorts of things. “So Ambrosia isn’t the name of a guild?”

“No of course not... What’s a guild?” Trisha was swooning but because of his fatigue, Gildarts didn’t seem to notice this, only her laughing smile prompted him with another story, each crazier than the last. “Wait, so you’ve done worse than take out a fruit orchard with just one of your sneezes? And here I am thinking you it was an accident!” Trisha’s smile carried him through the moment.

Eventually Sylvia emerged and beckoned the two to follow. They had been waiting a while and no doubt Sylvia had briefed Guu on all she knew. Trisha waved Gildarts off with happy tears still forming in her eyes as he departed from her to approached Ambrosia’s busy leader.

  Dust and Desolation
Posted by: Shay Cormac - 04-30-2015, 08:45 AM - Forum: The Endless Dunes - Replies (1)

Shay opened his eyes, feeling the intensely hot breeze bristling his tied back hair. Blinking, all Shay could see was nothing but a barren land of... practically nothing. The sandy-yellow ground had only a few dry bushes scattered about every so often from horizon to horizon. The more Shay looked at the scene in front of him, the more and more he could almost hear the winds themselves whispering in his ear. Shay could already see faint haze lines in the air, a drop of sweat forming on his eyebrow.

Having not much of a choice at this point, Shay decided to walk, still looking around in any which direction for some hopeful clue as to where he was going. Seemingly on some sort of rocky hilltop, Shay looked down to see a peculiar set of railroad tracks set along the flat ground of sand. Although these tracks looked familiar to Shay, he still failed to recognize it's technology. Shaking his head, Shay realized it would probably be a wise idea to follow these tracks, although in which of the two directions, Shay did not know.

Shay scratched at the back of his head again, supposing he might as well pick one way and see where it takes him. There had to be some sort of inhabitants here, and tracks like these, whatever they did, always had to lead to something, unless of course, the worst of the worse happened. Shay was doubtful he wouldn't find anybody with an average intelligence and sentience on either which direction he choose, although this entire situation seemed way too risky anyways. Shay only then remembered why he came here in the first place. New Babylon.

"I certainly hope this will all be worth something..." Shay grumbled, wiping the sweat from his already moistened forehead.

Looking both ways, Shay couldn't help but feel he had to go right for some reason. Nothing inside him told Shay that this was the correct choice, but at this point, nothing would. Shrugging slightly, Shay swung his body to the rightmost direction, and walked his way down the side of the railroad. Shay walked for minutes, feeling as if he hadn't accomplished a thing as a result of every tract of land here looking almost completely identical. The minutes Shay walked felt like hours, and for once, he wasn't sure if he was holding out that long or not. Trying to hold back the fact that he was clearly exhausted from the heat already, Shay closed his eyes, not noticing he began to walk slower than usual.

Shaking his head, Shay was disappointed in himself for not being able to hold out this long in the heat. He could swim for minutes at a time in ice-cold waters in the North Atlantic, why was a bit of warm weather getting to him? Shay could already feel the sweat from his face dripping onto the ground beneath him, the rest of his body nearly soaking up his coat. Holding his hand to his forehead, Shay staggered a bit, looking around for a place to sit. Conveniently enough, there were plenty of rocks to hide under for a nice shade. It wouldn't help too much, but Shay figured it was better than nothing.

"Finally..." Shay desperately spat out, slowly walking towards the shade. It took him more than awhile, but when Shay finally got there, he took no time at all to drop himself right under the rock itself, leaning backwards and breathing in as much of a rhythm as he could keep it in. Feeling the pressure of being away from most all of society at the moment, Shay began to talk to himself.

"I've got to get used to this..."

Shay kept his gloved hands to his face, shaking his head to regain his senses, or whatever he had left of them, anyways. Sitting for a while, Shay could barely feel how uncomfortable this was for him, only the relief of the cool shadow covering the blistering hot sun soothing his nerves. Finally being able to think straight, Shay began to thought of this Omnilium again. Shay looked at his curled up body, murmuring to himself once again.

"It has to help me here... It did all the other times... If I keep going like this, I'll be passed out under the sun in no time at all..."

Shay held out both of his hands, making it seem as if he was trying to hold something. Shay closed his eyes, leaning in to focus.

"Water... Come on..." Shay gritted his teeth as he spoke, trying to remain focused under his hazy state of consciousness. His eyes were closed, but even Shay could see the blinding rays of the bubble of light beginning to form in his hands. He wanted to smile knowing that this would hopefully work, but he couldn't, remaining to focus in as hard as he could now. As Shay's head began to increasingly get hotter and hotter, he could feel the weight of a flask in his hands, finally realizing he didn't need to strain himself any more.

Immediately, Shay opened the flask, and began to gulp down at least a third of the water inside. It was a relatively big container, just what Shay needed. The water inside was cold and seemingly fresh, cooling down Shay almost the moment he began drinking. Shaking his head, Shay's vision began to focus more and more, and he finally got up from his seat under the shade, not too far away from the tracks he was following. Keeping a steady breathing pace, Shay began to quicken himself to a jog, putting all of his energy into not giving into the heat.

Shay had found some purpose here, after all. He wanted to help these Verses and turn them into prosperous, peaceful lands. Shay felt more motivated than he did before, no Assassins holding him back, no Templars but himself. For the first time in his life, Shay felt at ease with being alone, following his own creed, his own order. The more Shay thought, the more Shay ran. He ran, and kept running, the heat not even bothering him anymore.

It was time to start anew.

The 'Elf' and the Soldier from Camelot
Posted by: Zelda - 04-30-2015, 01:04 AM - Forum: The Nexus - Replies (1)

If there has ever been a story that needs to be told: it isn't mine.

The void is an empty space between dimensions - whether parallel or otherwise - that exists merely to provide some small shelter of sanity to those that pass through it. It's torture for some; purgatory for others, and still more find themselves wondering if they (in fact had) ceased to exist, or if the world around them had merely vanished - swallowed whole by some Great Power far beyond any normal means of comprehension.

On the day that a young Hylian faded, there weren't any songs of praise; no crowns upon royalty's head, or even the cheers of subjects once so severely oppressed that they had forgotten freedom. Instead, only Zelda in bed, whisked away in the night by the very being she suspected had freed Ganondorf from his eternal prison days prior. She might have been snoring. As it had been the first time she had slept since the discovery. Strange, that this particular 'eve happened to also mark her abduction. And, while the state of Hyrule would certainly fall into question without the presence of the Triforce, there were more immediate concerns.

Darkness. But, not so. She had never seen anything quite so impossibly black. Yet, the dull shimmering glimmer of her 'kidnapper' (she presumed), brought comfort. Just another torch lit so a person might see, and though not a friendly face, a face at all could combat isolation. Still adorned in what could pass for a humble nightgown, the former Princess of Hyrule, stood firm and listened. In fact, she didn't bother to attempt to speak. Maybe because within a dream not remembered, she learned what was to come. Or simply the order of her mind, found the notion of arguing with an entity that basically ripped through the folds of space and time, foolish - suicidal. So, she let the sphere of rainbows grow warm in her extended hand, and merely lent her ear to this stranger.

A Boy in White with a Massive Grin. Nothing else at all. That or it forced nothing else to matter. Reality blurred and contorted into a thousands upon thousands of shapes, images, people and things to form nothing. Everything would be nothing and this Trickster probably found that amusing; a boy with his sandbox and his many dolls to play with. At least, it looked like a boy, but what could she know?

Gods can have many forms, and they choose what to reveal to those of lesser qualities.

Under different circumstances, Zelda may have asked: 'Are you lonely?' But, the mannerism of a rehearsed affair, rushed along the brief meeting. Before long, the Boy in White, departed. In his place, he left a realm of sheer brightness. Blinding at first, but after a few moments, a vast span of white that led ever onward to great Arches in the distance, became clear. However, she first approached the Fountain, drawn to its melodic sounds of constant current, and the only indication of life so far otherwise. She knelt beside it, dipping a hand gently to test its waters: cool. Cupping both her hands she brought the liquid to her mouth and drank (before she had been taken she had been thirsty).

Is this where he came through? Omni spoke about the others . . . immortality. Reborn over and over again. He would consider that a gift. It's a curse though.

Parting her hands, Zelda let the remains trickle through the cracks back into their home. "The implications," she muttered. "I can't allow him to reap destruction upon these realms as he did Hyrule. I must go from here - before he learns of my arrival." Lost in thought the Hylian barely realized she spoke aloud, but the youth clad in iron and clutching steel certainly had heard her. He too, had a thirst; on the other side of the welled source, he quenched it. But now, he looked upon her staring at her odd presentation, and mostly, upon the points of her ears.

"Were you talking to me?"

"Oh, no - I'm sorry!" She replied, stumbling clumsily to her feet again. "I only just came here, and I thought I was alone. Mistaken on that part of it." Tilting her head at him she assessed easily enough that he was a solider. His armor, blade, helmet and the shield upon his back, were signs enough of this fact. She watched briefly; his eyes darted from her nightgown, to her ears and back again. She looked away.

"Milady, are you an Elf?"

Zelda shook her head. "I'm not sure what an Elf is." Despite the situation, somehow, she kept herself from stammering. Then, she remembered the colorful orb and what had been told to her. When had she lost it? She couldn't recall.

"Your ears though, you look like an elf." She saw his hand lingering quite close to the sheathe of his sword. Her eyes widened - could this be a place that attacked kin like her upon sight? She dared not think what would have happened to her people, if they were brought here. But, no one save for Ganondorf had disappeared. Maybe, they were still safe. "But, you say you just came here - you must be a prime then." His voice rose interrupting her thoughts. "Did Omni speak to you?"

"Yes." A simple response. Presently, she worried over Omninilium; something that supposedly would come naturally with a mere musing. A second or so later she felt something momentarily weigh down a hand. With a glance she saw the sphere once more, even smiled at its warmth. The Soldier crept quite quickly around from the other side of the Fountain at the sight of it. Instead of glaring at her ears, that orb had him in a daze.

"That's Ominilium, you must be a Prime. You're my assignment. I mean - " he rubbed the back of his head. In his swiftness he had left his shield and helmet behind, resting against along the edge of cool granite and stone. "I'm supposed to be recruiting you lot for the Kingdom in Camelot." He pointed off to one of the great doorways in the far off way. "But . . . "

"Elves aren't welcome?" Zelda intoned picking up on his hesitation. She swirled her fingers around the chunk of rainbows. Smooth and warm, whereas most objects like it would be cold. It's as though it was made for forging and its fire could not be put out by the most violent of storms. Capable of creating either destruction or peace at the whim of the user. A terrifying prospect if true, but it would also solve her more cosmetic - the wardrobe problems. As the man-at-arms continued, she focused longing to swap out her nightwear for something more appropriate.

"It's not t-that, but, there are some people that still remember. They . . . I-I admit to still fearing the Magic that flows through your people. My father - " He stopped his advance. His hands had fallen back to the comfort of that familiar hilt. The gleam of steel would be swift if he drew upon its wrath. However, she knew that he wouldn't. Although dressed as one, an instrument of war, this boy would never be. Too young and filled with life, and hope for better times. He only wanted to help his friends, family and those to whom he sworn fealty.

Zelda had turned back to him with a smile. That had stopped him in his tracks. "It's alright, be still. I won't cause harm to you, nor your family. And, I'm not an Elf. I may look like one to your eyes, though." After speaking once more, she peered down at her clothes, and for a second her face was filled with a blush. Thereafter, she could feel a 'force' begin to surge through her body. A bright light eclipsed her entire form. It remained as new cloth was fitted promptly unto her figure. That orb in her hand, poofed out of existence. Several minutes had passed, but she now knew that - regardless of what Omni is - he wasn't a liar.

When the light disappeared, she now wore a deep-lavender cloak about her person. A long hood trailed down her back, and vestments of purple, gold and white covered her person. Most notably however, her face now was concealed by a soft rose-colored mask. It swept across her mouth up to just before her nose, almost Arabian in appearance, leaving only her eyes visible. Without a word she raised the hood and covered the majority of her luscious hair.

"You just - you did that!" He cried out. "Summoning as many call it. Only Primes like yourself do it. It's a magic in its own right, but, I've never seen it done before." He appeared more relaxed at the sudden shift in her adornments. Probably because before, she only wore what a person might wear to sleep. Now she was no more out of place among the White than he was. "May I know your name, Milady?" He almost stuttered, but restrained himself by talking far slower than he usually spoke.

For awhile, Zelda only stepped forward and gazed into the stream below her. If I am - if everyone is - to live peacefully. I can no longer be who I am. Another path must open. She taxed her mind remembering those songs she played for the Hero of Time. The Ocarina, the lullaby she played, and the sound of Time itself as it slipped right-on by. Even imagined, the tones soothed her. Now, they could calm others (help them too), and serve another purpose in ensuring that the peoples that lived across so many of these fabricated worlds, could remain in harmony. When she faced him once more she replied: "You may call me Muse. What is your name?"

"Hector, I'm only a scout. Actually, I should be reporting in soon. Time is funny in the Nexus. Oh, that is what you see before you now, Muse. And, the doorways lead to entire worlds." He proceeded back to the other side as he spoke, and then retrieved his equipment. Without another word he began the long walk back to the Gateway to Camelot. Although, he did think that it would be better if he said nothing to his supervisor about the latest Prime. She seemed out of touch and worried about someone that was not among them.

He had left her alone by the Fountain. Zelda reached out for another rainbow sphere. It shined in her grasp. She thought deeply upon it. Then, time passed and the unchanging waters trickled on and on. She shut her eyes feeling her body, mind and soul straining to grab what she wanted - what she desired - and needed.

Character name: Zelda

Character source: The Legend of Zelda

Character history:

***The following is used with permission from Dark Link***

The crown princess of a land known as Hyrule, Zelda is among the many namesakes that had existed in her royal line. Tracing their lineage back to the original Zelda, who was the mortal reincarnation of the goddess Hylia, many of the female members of the royal family were often named in honour of their primogenitor. Thanks in part to their divine bloodline, which was subsequently also imbued with a powerful form of the life force called Light Force, several princesses within the dynasty held a wide range of mystical powers.

This particular Zelda was no different in that regard, hence why she was referred to by some as the "Princess of Destiny". When she was but a child, growing up within castle halls, she had a dream. In it, dark clouds covered the land of Hyrule, threatening to engulf it in darkness...when a ray of light appeared from the forest, dispersing the clouds and illuminating the earth. The light transformed into a figure that held a shining green stone and was followed by a fairy. Zelda shared this tale with her father, the King of Hyrule. Though he dismissed it as a mere dream, his daughter thought that it was a vision of things to come.

Her fears were affirmed when the castle was visited by one of the king's associates, the Gerudo king Ganondorf. Though he pledged his allegiance to the Hyrule throne, Zelda saw evil within his eyes and realized that his intentions were less than noble. She began to suspect that he represented the dark clouds from her vision and that the only reason he was attempting to earn the royal family's trust was in order to get his hands on Hyrule's most sacred artefact...the Triforce.

Left behind by the three goddesses that created the world, the Triforce was the basis of its providence and had the ability to grant any wish to the one who managed to hold it in his hands. If someone righteous at heart made a wish, it would lead the world into prosperity; if, however, the wish was made by someone evil, it would lead the land to ruin instead. The goddess Hylia was tasked with protecting the Triforce, a duty which would later be passed onto her descendants. However, many craved for the artefact's immense power, which lead to Hyrule experiencing an era of chaos and strife. In order to prevent evildoers from claiming possession of the relic, the entrance to the Sacred Realm, where the Triforce resided, was sealed and its whereabouts and the method by which it could be opened became a closely guarded royal secret.

Zelda shared her concerns with Impa, her nursemaid and guardian as well as one of the last of the Sheikah. Together, they payed close attention to the movements of the Gerudo. But there was little that the girl could do beyond this and Zelda feared that she would be powerless to stop the events that were coming to pass right in front of her eyes. One day, while she was observing a meeting between Ganondorf and the King, a boy of her age managed to sneak into the castle garden....a boy who hailed from the Kokiri forest, held a shining green stone and was followed by a fairy.

The princess was ecstatic to realize that he was the figure from her dream...and potentially the solution to the evil that wished to befoul the land. The boy introduced himself as Link, a name that Zelda found oddly familiar. Regardless, figuring that he was the one who would put an end to Ganondorf's plans, she revealed to him the secret that the royal family had kept for so long. The entrance to the Sacred Realm was located in a chamber within the Temple of Time. In order to access the chamber, one needed to gather the three Spiritual Stones as well as a mystical instrument called the Ocarina of Time. Link already possessed one of the Stones and the Ocarina was a royal heirloom. In an attempt to prevent the upcoming disaster, Zelda enlisted the boy's aid and instructed him to retrieve the other two Spiritual Stones while she worked to ensure Ganondorf wouldn't be able to steal the ocarina.

But the Gerudo warlock revealed his true colors sooner than expected, before Link could return with the Stones. Leading an assault on Hyrule Castle, he overwhelmed the ill-prepared defenses and slayed the king. However, Zelda took the Ocarina before he could steal it. With Impa's help, she escaped the castle, Ganondorf following them in hot pursuit. As they dashed out of the castle town on horseback, Zelda caught sight of Link as he dived to get out of the way. She threw the Ocarina to him, hoping that he would keep it safe while she and Impa continued to evade the Gerudo king. Telepathically, she asked him to go to the Temple of Time and protect the Triforce.

As Zelda went into hiding, Link did as she requested. Using the Ocarina of Time and the Spiritual Stones, he was able to gain access to the chamber. There resided a weapon in a pedestal; known as the Master Sword, it was said to be imbued with the power to repel evil and that only a hero the blade considered worthy would be able to wield it. The boy pulled the sword out of its resting place...but this had consequences that Link and Zelda had not anticipated.

Though the Master Sword recognized the boy's potential, it deemed him too young to be able to bear the title of 'Hero of Time' and sealed his spirit away until he came of age. In addition, the Master Sword served as the key and final barrier to the Sacred Realm; once it had been removed, the entrance was open and the path to the Triforce was laid bare. But unbeknownst to Link and Zelda, Ganondorf had not failed to notice the boy and had been tracking his movements. When the boy practically opened the way for him, the warlock seized the opportunity and entered the Sacred Realm in an attempt to claim his much coveted prize.

It was only thanks to a safeguard left by the three goddesses that the Gerudo king failed to achieve his goal; if the Triforce was touched by a person whose power, wisdom and courage were not in balance, the artefact would shatter into three pieces. Ganondorf, who had sought nothing but sheer might his entire life, was such a person. As a result, when the warlock tried to grasp it, the Triforce split into three smaller parts and he only received the Triforce of Power. The other two went to the individuals that better represented their aspects; the Triforce of Courage imprinted itself upon the sealed away Link while Zelda became the bearer of the Triforce of Wisdom.

But though the Gerudo king's ambitions were thwarted, his success in gaining entrance to the Sacred Realm had serious ramifications. The realm changed to reflect his evil heart and covered the world in darkness. In addition, the Triforce of Power enabled him to exert absolute authority over the land of Hyrule with ease. His position secured, he proceeded to rule the kingdom as a tyrant; in addition, he demolished the old castle and had a new one built in its place. But the warlock was ever vigilant; he knew that, as long as the other two Triforce bearers remained at large, his future dominance would not remain absolutely certain. So he never ceased looking for Link and Zelda, awaiting the day they would reveal their presence.

Feeling responsible for what had befallen her subjects, Zelda spent the next several years under the tutelage of Impa, learning the ways of the Sheikah. Disguising herself as a boy named Sheik, she kept her identity and presence secret from Ganondorf while she actively battled his forces and worked to undermine his rule. But though she did not remain dormant, the princess was aware that there was only one person who could put a stop to the warlock's evil reign. As she made all the necessary preparations, Zelda awaited the day that the Hero of Time would finally emerge.

After seven long years, Link was finally released from his prison, having grown into a young man in the process, and reappeared inside the Temple of Time. Though she maintained her Sheikah disguise, Zelda was the first to greet him upon his arrival. She told him that, in order to stop Ganondorf, the seven Sages would have to be awakened. Serving as the kingdom's guardians, their power was passed down from generation to generation and only came alive in times of need. With their combined strength, they had the ability to seal Ganondorf inside the Sacred Realm. In addition to giving him this task, "Sheik" also gave Link further instructions as to how he could use the Ocarina as well as how he could travel through time in order to help him in his undertaking.

With the Sheikah warrior's aid, Link traveled the land and vanquished many foes in order to release and awaken most of the Sages. Upon completing this, he was instructed by one of them to return to the Temple of Time. It was there that he once again encountered "Sheik". Feeling that the time was now right, Zelda finally revealed her true identity to Link, presenting herself as the seventh Sage and the leader of them all. But this encounter did not escape Ganondorf's notice; as soon as the princess exposed herself, he used his powers to abduct her and taunted Link, goading him to try and rescue her at the top of his castle.

But the Gerudo king's hubris turned out to be his downfall; upon reaching his chamber, the warlock turned out to be no match for the Hero of Time and Link managed to defeat him and release Zelda from her imprisonment. Using the last of his powers, Ganondorf attempted to collapse the castle on top of them; however, thanks to her magical abilities, Zelda was able to remove the barrier that was keeping them inside and the two escaped as the structure broke down entirely.

That seemed like the end of it....but the warlock emerged from the ruins. Utterly consumed by hatred, he used the Triforce of Power to transform himself into an enormous monstrosity known as Ganon. But in spite of its vast strength and cunning, Link was still able come out on top. Once the barrier that had kept her away from the fight evaporated, Zelda used her strength to pin Ganon down, enabling Link to deal the finishing blow with the Master Sword. Immediately afterwards, the princess called upon the power of the other Sages; together, they banished Ganondorf to the Evil Realm, where he could no longer try and claim the other two pieces of the Triforce and cause further harm to Hyrule. In gratitude for his great service, Zelda used the Ocarina to send Link back into the past so he could experience the lost years of his childhood.

Peace returned to Hyrule and reconstruction efforts began in earnest. Though many desired to see Zelda be crowned the Queen, she herself thought that it wasn't appropriate to do so while the kingdom was still in ruins. So for the time being, she opted to turn Hyrule into a principality and oversaw the rebuilding of the land. She also used this opportunity to mend old wounds. In recognition of the Gerudo Sage Nabooru's efforts, the Gerudo were permitted to leave the desert and return to Hyrule. In addition, together with the other sages, she worked to remove the curse that resulted in the Gerudo having only a single male born every hundred years so as to avoid the situation that had lead to Ganondorf's rise in the first place.

Through much sweat and tears, much of the damage that had been done by Ganondorf and his minions had been repaired within a mere year and Hyrule had been nearly restored to its former glory. However, there was one thing that hadn't gone as well. One day, Zelda sensed that something was amiss...and upon further investigation, realized that Ganondorf was no longer imprisoned inside the Sacred Realm. It wasn't even that he broke free like he had promised to do with his final words; the seals that contained him inside had been intact. He had simply...vanished. Gravely concerned about this, Zelda sent people to search the entire realm. Yet, in spite of their efforts, there was no sign of the Gerudo king. As far as they could tell, he was gone entirely from that plane of existence and the princess dreaded the thought of what could have been so powerful as to whisk away the warlock without breaking any of the barriers in place.

Little did she know, however, that she would learn of this power or entity firsthand. Just prior to her intended coronation, the princess was pulled out of her reality by an unknown force. At first, she thought she was somehow being sent into a different time against her will...but this was different. As she unwittingly crossed through time and space, scenes flashed before her eyes...through these, she witnessed the lives of all Zeldas, both past and future. It was thanks to this that she realized that she wasn't merely one of many women named Zelda in her lineage...in fact, she was one of many incarnations of the same person, going all the way back to the original Zelda. It was also through this that she realized another fact...this was not the only time she, Link and Ganondorf had gone through this song and dance; and wherever she was headed, she suspected that Ganondorf, or at least A Ganondorf, was there....and that he would attempt to use her for his nefarious schemes if he became aware of her presence.

Just Some Regulations:

  • Please follow all site OOC rules to the letter.
  • Format can be whatever you'd like providing that you follow these rules.
  • This shouldn't need to be said, but please be respectful and offer positive comments. Negativity in any form is highly discouraged. While pointing out all the errors may seem useful 'to you' it certainly doesn't make that person feel good. There are ways to help someone improve without nitpicking. As a rule of thumb try to have 5 Positives for every 1 Negative (courtesy of resident teacher protoman).
  • The above doesn't mean you can't criticize, but there's a way to do it without being negative. For example, make suggestions, don't say something about the topic is 'wrong' or poorly written. Maybe point out a confusing section and suggest revising it for instance, or even offer what you think may have worked better in that situation. Additionally, you could offer to proofread a member's next post for them: be helpful instead. Positive reinforcement will keep people writing and reading here.
  • While you're free to develop your own way of critiquing and commenting, I wouldn't recommend making a 'scoring' scale. This isn't competitive and you're not grading topics. Instead, only offer advice and comments in whatever format you wish. Maybe offer directions the Plot can go from there (whether that is into a new topic or not).
  • As there is a flat rate of 100 OM for participating, I feel I need to include this: please do not skim, thoroughly read before posting. If you skim, especially the wordy topics, you're likely to miss a lot. In addition, please put actual effort into your written responses. I don't want to have to put up a word count requirement for these; so please don't make me question whether or not you have actually tried to help a fellow member, or if you're just trying to get easy OM.
  • OM is a nice incentive but if this starts to be abused, I doubt it will continue to be a reward. Do not abuse this for easy OM. I highlighted that above already, but it deserves a separate bullet. Seriously don'tPlease.
  • As a final point: yes you can offer suggestions as to what topics you would like to be included here next. I have no problem with that if you happen to be dying to read a given topic but need some excuse to do so.
  • These regulations should be copied and pasted into every new Book Club topic (in case I don't do it for some reason).

  The Immortal Swordsman
Posted by: Kuzuru - 04-28-2015, 05:07 PM - Forum: The Nexus - Replies (7)

"Kill him! Take his soul, feast on his blood!" Kuzuru's voice growled loudly, his rampant blood-lust drowning my own thoughts. A deep breath quieted his hunger and I focused on my opponent. I would say he was a younger man, but I've lived for over a thousand years and everyone seems young to me. Regardless of his age his name was Ken Takimi and he was a swordsman, that was all I needed to know. Our battlefield was the roof of a mega skyscraper, the air up there was thin enough to make breathing difficult.

The younger bladesman smiled arrogantly and asked "You look out of place here mate, are you sure you wanna fight me?"

Slowly I unsheathed by blade, Kuzuru's presence bombarded me but I pressed through it. "You're Ken Takimi right? The self-proclaimed 'sword-god' ?"

He smirked and pressed a button on his bracelet. The bracelet hummed and a bright blue energy blade formed in his hand. "I'm the one and only, that sword you have there looks like a relic. My cyber blade will cut through that piece of crap like paper, are you sure you want to do this?"

The cyber-blade was a recent technological advancement that came about because of recent advancements in armor. In this day and age the only thing that could crack through a good suit of armor was a skilled blade master with a cyber-blade, well that and a blade infused with the souls of thousands of dead warriors. Even with my demonic blade technology was finally starting to catch up with my power, maybe in a few more decades my sword would finally become obsolete. My daydreaming was interuppted by Kuzuru's booming voice.

"What are you waiting for? Slaughter him already Renji! Rip him to ribbons!"

My patience was thinning and I growled under my breath "Be quiet already you damned nuisance."

A stiff breeze howled across the rooftop and sent my wide-brim bamboo hat flying off the building. At that moment I knew, in my heart of hearts that that day was going to be a crappy day. Almost reluctantly I raised my blade and dashed towards Ken, like a crashing wave I was upon my poor opponent. He certainly wasn't an amateur but he didn't have a thousand years of experience. My blade matched his blow for blow, forcing him to stumble backwards as I continued my assault.

"Yes! Let me taste his blood, oh lord yes" Kuzuru cheered as one of my strikes found Ken's chest, spilling red across the ground. As much as I hate to admit it, I did enjoy seeing the fresh blood spill across the floor. A sinister grin crawled across my face and I could see the fear in Ken's eyes.
This was what I lived for, the perfection of my craft. The utter domination of my opponents. He swung at me blindly, his instincts were guiding him rather than any form of training. I ducked below the wild horizontal slash and punched him in the gut, stumbling him towards the edge of the skyscraper. This was getting pathetic, he definitely did not live up to the hype.

Taking a few steps backwards I asked him "Is this all you've got Ken? Is this what the famed 'sword-god' has to offer?"

"How, how is that ancient piece of crap deflecting my cyber-blade?" his voice trembled with fear as he pushed another button on his bracelet. The energy sword changed into a bright blue pistol. Swords, I can deal with swords but guns become tricky. I sheathed my sword and assumed a more traditional stance, taking deep slow breaths.

"Calling upon my power against someone like him? You must be losing your edge Renji!" the demon within my blade mocked me.

Ken fired a bright blue bolt, moving as fast as lightning it raced towards me. Time slowed down, or rather my perception of time slowed. The bolt almost froze in midair as I took another deep breath.

"Demon cut" I whispered as I drew my blade and slashed outwards.

Black and red demonic energy swallowed my blade. The energy of over a thousand souls coalesced into one beautiful attack. A line, thin as a razor cut forth from my slash. It moved fast enough to break the sound barrier several times over. The blue bolt was consumed by the oppressive force of my attack and Ken was cut cleanly in half. A deafening crack echoed across the rooftop, signalling the end of our battle. Kuzuru cheered as Ken's soul escaped its mortal coil.

"Delicious"

After Kuzuru was finished feasting I sheathed my blade and turned towards the exit. However there was no exit to be found, in fact I watched in horror as everything faded to black. My mind went numb and I found myself unable to move. Even Kuzuru's ever-present presence was oddly absent. Then before me a white silhouette materialized against the black void. It spoke about foreign concepts such as the Omniverse and Omnilium. Then as quickly as it began I found myself standing in front of a fountain, surrounded by starch white walls and floors.

"Where am I? Kuzuru, where the hell am I?"

My sword was silent.

"Kuzuru?" the demonic force that once consumed my every action was absent. In fact even my body felt slower and weaker. I took a step away from the fountain and looked around, several others were around the fountain lost in their own business. Cautiously I gripped the handle of my sword and Kuzuru's booming voice echoed into my head.

"Where did you go Renji!? I can barely feel your soul anymore, in fact I can hardly feel anyone's souls! Take us back!"

"I don't think I can Kuzuru" before he could object I released my grip and his corruption disappeared from my mind. Apparently even the great demon was weakened by the trip to the Omniverse. Perhaps this is a good thing, at least I'll get some nice peace and quiet.

Character name: Akame of the Demon Sword Murasame

Character source: Akame ga Kill!

Character history:

Akame was sold as a child along with her sister to the empire that had the privilege to be in power in her world. She was trained in the most cruel way possible. One hundred children in a forest full of beasts with only one goal, survival. Needless to say Akame and her sister where one of the few to escape the forest alive.

From there she was split apart from her sister for siblings where not permitted to be apart of the same group of assassins, yes assassins. Akame joined the Elite Seven where she would tain to become one of the most successful killers known on her tiny, worthless rock. She killed for the empire without knowing just how corrupt and evil her employer truly was.

Eventually she began to despise how the Empire treated its people and the jobs she was being put on made less and less sense. She began to feel like a tool being used by corrupt individuals, exactly what she was to be perfectly honest. Eventually she defected and joined the Revolutionary Army. She was assigned to a highly skilled squad of individuals who excelled in how many bodies they could accumulate for the rebellion.

It was one of the first ten missions, it is really all a foggy mess to be straight with you, when she found herself surrounded by a multitude of enemies who she obviously engaged. Like the bad ass she was she cut through hundreds before she began to feel light headed, weak, she was not without her own battle scars from the engagement.

As the darkness pulled her in she lost all sense of permanence. She was a floating body, no she had no body, she was just there, she existed for the sake of existing. What could she think of the situation? All she knew was that it was not an end but some sort of new beginning.

The next part you all know, blah blah mystical face in the blackness who answers questions. Lets move on to the good stuff.

A long blade Katana which comes from her home land as one of the Teigu. With a blade length of about 32.5 inches and a hilt a mix of maroon and white the blade is whistles as it cuts through the air itself. The blade has a debilitating poison where as when it cuts through flesh the wound takes much longer, about twice as long to be precise, to heal over and stop bleeding.

Alright, so I've got a vanilla survival server in Minecraft. The wonderful Mami Tomoe has already joined up and started crafting. If anyone else wants an invite reply here with your minecraft name. Smile
