  If I Were The Rain
Posted by: Orihime Inoue - 01-03-2016, 02:35 AM - Forum: The Nexus - No Replies

Ichigo’s body lay still on the ground with a pitch black hole gaping in the middle of his chest. He had just finished a grueling battle with Ulquiorra when Grimmjow had stolen Orihime away, and ordered her to heal all of Ichigo’s wounds. Her first reaction was to be grateful, because more than anything she needed to try to save Ichigo, seeing him like this brought tears to her eyes. However, Orihime couldn't trust this to be a gift from Grimmjow, she knew his motives were evil.

“I won’t” she whispered. Grimmjow’s look turned angry and annoyed, then, before Orihime could blink, his hand was around her throat. Gasping for air, she reiterated, “I won’t. If I do, you’ll just try to hurt him again. I won’t.”

Grimmjow had an intent to kill in his eyes, as he squeezed harder around her neck.

Suddenly Ichigo’s hand swiftly cuffed Grimmjow’s arm tightly. “Let go of her”, he warned.

Orihime was caught in a trance, as she looked upon Ichigo’s face and thought, Oh Ichigo, I never thought that I would ever see you again.

“Oh come on, don't look at me like that. I’ll be alright, trust me. I’ll win.” Ichigo promised and next thing, he and Grimmjow were engaged in battle. Grimmjow continuously provoking Ichigo to use his full strength.

“Be careful Ichigo”, Orihime pleaded, but in her heart she knew that Ichigo would win the battle with Grimmjow. She knew that Ichigo didn't say he wasn't afraid, because of fear and definitely not to try to fool himself, but because his win was a guarantee. Whenever he says something that is important, he swears it like an oath. Like he did when he first appeared to me as a soul reaper, and rescued me from my brother, who had become a hollow. That is who Ichigo is. He makes a promise to himself, and then to make his promise a reality, he recites it. Orihime believed Ichigo would win because if he said it, Ichigo would not lose.

In between the arrancar and substitute soul reaper's dancing swords, Ichigo roared, “What did you do to Orihime?!”

“Why did you come to this place, soul reaper?” quipped the arrancar.

With his zanpakuto looming over him, Ichigo replied, “Are you some kind of idiot, Grimmjow? I came here to rescue Orihime.”

When he said this, a ripple of butterfly wings filled her stomach and she had to look away from Ichigo. She still could not believe that Ichigo had ruthlessly fought his way there to rescue her from wakomundo. This vast wasteland had more dangerous foes than they had ever come across, and upon arrival she did not think she would survive. An unexpected spectral energy came right for Orihime, and it felt like she was seeing it come in slow motion. Orihime gasped, as she heard a muffled cry out from Ichigo and he moved to intercept the blast, shielding her. As the smoke from the impact dissipated, she noticed a change in Ichigo's spiritual pressure to something significantly stronger and menacing.

“Ichigo” she whispered timidly.

The air was stagnant as his head turned around slowly to face her. Orihime’s face was frozen in terror as a hideous mask had covered his face. His eyes where a demon yellow that brought on a sense of fear she had never felt from Ichigo before. He looked just like her brother, eyes threatening like they wanted to devour her.

After the initial shock he turned back away from her and said, “I’m sorry if this frightens you. There is nothing to worry about. I’ll finish this quickly.”

Tenderly, Ichigo whispered to her, “Orihime I need you to use your Santen Kessun to protect yourself for the remainder of the fight, and don’t take it off until I say so, OK?”

Returning to the fight with a new found vengeance, he left Orihime frozen in her own fear with thoughts of her brother’s thirst for blood and of what Ichigo had become. Grimmjow took advantage of the soul reapers back being turned and went in for another cheap shot, however Ichigo blocked the attack from doing any damage to Orihime.

Crying, Orihime wailed, “Ichigo, why?!”

Ichigo breathed heavily, his voice sounded like static while his bright orange hair peeked behind and around his mask, “This is nothing, don’t worry.” She trembled as once again she saw her brother’s face, forcing her to turn away in hesitation.

While the battle between the two began to escalate, she remained with her eyes closed and her arms gripping herself tightly. In the middle of her thought, she heard Nell yell, “Why are you not cheering for him? What, do you think, he is some kind of monster?”

“Cheer for him?” Orihime thought with shame, having not understood what she meant until Nell yelled through tears, “How will he feel when he does not even hear your voice cheering him on?”

Quickly opening her eyes, she saw that the battle was not turning in Ichigo's favor. She thought of them as children, playing together, and his smirk of his whenever he had the upper hand during games. Shame ran through Orihime, as tears glided down her flushed face, “Ichigo!”, she bellowed, “I need you!”

Ichigo stopped and looked up at Orihime, and with her beauty calling out to him, he found new strength. Holding her hands tightly, she whispered sweetly under her breath that she loved him. She remembered all the good about him, and how he made her feel, like time did not exist when they were together. Sniffling, she imagined placing her delicate hand into his and going home where they belonged.

“I’m going to take Orihime and my friend’s home safely!” Ichigo thundered as he plunged his zanpakuto through the arrancar.

“Yes,” she thought, “Ichigo did it.”

---

A bitter silence engulfed her as she stood baffled by what she had just experienced. A man, or rather a being, had just told her that she would never go home again. How is this possible? She did not remember going into another portal or door way into another dimension. Where is Ichigo? This super power had stolen her away, right before she returned with her love back to the world of the living. Incandescent emptiness surrounded her, there was nothing but what appeared to be a fountain off in the distance.

Falling to her knees she wailed, “Ichigo!” and like a dream, she remembered her hand going into his, as she looked up through joyful tears at his actual face. No, I just saw him. I was just with him, this can't be happening. More tears fell to the unnatural, white surface beneath her as her heart shattered. Orihime could not understand why anyone would have an obsession with the powers she possessed.

She thought again of Ichigo's smile and questioned whether or not she imagined that, or if she was really still in wakomundo. Deep down, she knew that was not the case, this was much different. “Oh Ichigo”, she wailed silently.

“I know you came and rescued me once from a strange place. I know you can save me from this one.” Orihime spoke while rising to her feet, and then made the trek to the glittering fountain on the horizon. Her mind was going over the many possibilities to what was happening to her but she could not comprehend any of them. Orihime remembered the being say that there was others in this place, so she nervously felt for her hairpins, but was relieved to find them still there. I hope someone can explain to me what's going on here she thought to herself. She was still wearing the dress that was given to her by Lord Aizen, her capture. The dress brushed against her legs silkily and made a soft whooshing noise as she walked, which was the only sound around her.

Where is everyone? she pondered as she approached the fountain.

There was no concept of time in this place. How long had it been since she started walking. One hour? Two hours? A minute? She didn’t know. Wakomundo had its own time there as well, that she remembered. Her footsteps whispered to her as her feet ached. Orihime made her way to what would appear to be an entrance just south of the fountain. It was coming more and more into sight as she approached. She felt like she was going mad with the deathly stillness and that although she was making her way across this luminescent landscape, the fountain had stayed the same. She thought of Ichigo crossing the desolate terrain of wakomundo and shivered.

At least I have not encountered any beasts, or arrancar she thought to herself with unease. Her mind went to Ichigo again and went to a memory of them at school.

It was picture day, so everyone was to look their best for the school yearbook. Orihime made sure her hair was curled, pinned with the hair clip her brother had given her, and that she was wearing her best uniform. The time for everyone to get together was approaching, but it felt like something was missing. Looking around, she realised that Ichigo was not with them. Orihime turned around, only to find Ichigo was suddenly behind her. As she inspected him, up and down, she saw that his uniform was slightly wrinkled, and his hair was a fiery, tangled mess atop of his head. She loved it. Giggling to herself, she asked him where he had been.

“What? I have been here the whole time. You look nice Orihime.” grinned Ichigo.

Returning to this place with a slight smile across her lips, she saw the gate was almost upon her. Puzzled, Orihime picked up her pace. It looked similar to the entrances to The World of the Living and The Soul Society, but very different at the same time. As she approached the gate she abruptly stopped right in front of it. She thought of what might happen if she got hurt while passing through it. Nervously she reached her delicate hand through the entrance and held her breath. The brilliant colors of the gate parted around her palm like that a waterfall. Fascinated, she pushed further into the gate until she was completely through it.

Character Change: Mami Tomoe to Neptune
Posted by: Mami Tomoe - 01-03-2016, 02:07 AM - Forum: Joining - Replies (1)

Quote:IT BEGINS. Again. Um.
The links in Moves and Physical Description have pictures, because why wouldn't they? So, if you'd like to look at those, that's swell.
I know I mention it later, but if anything needs fixing, call me out on said thing that needs fixing and it shall be fixed.
Oh, and I did the calculations for the amount of OM I get to keep - 12561.93 - Starting 5000 / 2 = 3780.965 + Starting 5000 = 8780.965. Omnilium's only shown up to the hundredth, so I'll assume it rounds up to .97 instead of down to .96, but if I'm wrong, feel free to call me out and/or fix it.
Thank you, and good morning, afternoon, evening or night.~
also um if there were people joining/switching before me please go help them first if you can or haven't already

Character Name: Neptune, Goddess of Planeptune - though she'll answer to pretty much any nickname that vaguely relates to Neptune (Also goes by Purple Heart when she's in HDD, if you're boring)

Character Source: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 and Hyperdimension Neptunia: The Animation

Character History: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 takes place, then The Animation's events take place (I'm specifically noting this because that's technically not the way the canon is, but this is the Omniverse. I can do what I want with Neppy's history). Neptune's taken from the Omniverse while sleeping the night after an exhibition fight with the other Goddesses of Gamindustri.

Physical Description:
Human Form

Stats: (+2 DEF for 3000 OM)
ATK: 4
Neptune may be four foot nine, but she's still pretty tough, even in her human form. Her strength fluctuates a bit at times as her Shares do, but even on a bad day she can go toe-to-toe with dragons all by herself.
DEF: 3
Neptune's human form is pretty durable. Most of the durability comes from sheer willpower, because all the pudding she eats certainly isn't turning her into a beefcake.
SPD: 2
Neptune may be faster than popes in heels, space marines and a few evil overlords, but she's not purple streak speeds by levels of fast. Not yet, at least. Maybe someday.
TEC: 3
While she's the youngest of the Goddesses, she's still a Goddess, and while she has no recollection of it, fighting in the Console War took considerable skill. She demonstrates said skill in more recent memory with acrobatics and some degree of tactical thinking in her HDD form.

Starting Proficiencies (1000): Physical Strength (1000)

Starting Powers (3000): Flight (1800), Master Acrobat (400), Burst Movement (800)

Starting Moves (900):
Holy Fang Blade (300)
Uses Physical Strength
A legendary blade used by the Goddess preceding Neptune. While it's been reforged so as to return functionality after uncountable years of not being used, it retains the power the original blade held. The sword is about three feet long (~90cm) and weighs just under two pounds (~.9kg). It's quite easy to swing and cuts beautifully, but its incredibly sharp blade quickly dulls and is easily disarmed or broken. Fortunately, re-summoning the blade in the Omniverse isn't difficult - all it takes is about two seconds to re-summon and unsheathe the weapon.

Tier 1 Offensive Super Move: Cross Combo! (600)
Uses Physical Strength
A favourite Move of Neptune's. A significantly larger amount of power is put behind Neptune's blade, making each strike much stronger and leaving thick orange lines in the air where she cuts. Neptune dashes at her opponent, then cuts an X into them, slightly knocking them backwards in the process. As the opponent staggers, she leaps and spins, cutting another X into her opponent as she lands. With her fifth strike she sends her opponent flying into the air, with her sixth she rushes up to meet them and sends them plummeting back to the ground. If the opponent can't fly or break their fall in any way, the seventh hit is impact with the ground.

Spent OM = 7900 / 8780.97

I can confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. I've done this twice before, so I'm pretty sure I didn't screw anything up - if I did, though, let me know and I'll fix things.

Where did you find us?
uh
i can't remember
can i get back to you on this one

  Vote For Us! (January)
Posted by: Kakashi Hatake - 12-31-2015, 09:07 PM - Forum: Bookkeeping Archive - Replies (506)

You like having more people to play with, right? That was a rhetorical question, because having more people to write with is awesome. Do you also like OM? If the answer is 'yes', which OBVIOUSLY it is, then please vote for us on the following sites!

RPGfix (every 12 hours. If you register, your votes count as x2. Worth the couple of minutes to make an account if you're going to be voting every day)
Top RP Sites (Daily)

When you vote, please post here with your total vote count for this month. So "Voted: 1", "Voted: 3" or whatever. Just keep track of 'em. For our counting purposes, clicking vote on both sites, or on RPGfix if only that is available, counts as 1 vote. If you post less than twelve hours since your last post, we won't count it. This means you can get up to two vote counts a day if you vote exactly every twelve hours. Simple? SIMPLE.

At the end of the month, if you posted ...

7-13 times: You get 100 OM.
14-23 times: You get 200 OM.
24+ times: You get 300 OM.
Every day: You get 300 OM, and a hug from me for being so damn diligent.

If you have an alternate character and wish to claim your reward on that account as opposed to your main one, please let us know in the topic before the month ends. If you don't, we'll assume you want the OM on the account you posted with.

We're going to trust in this that people actually click the links and don't just reply. I mean it only takes a few seconds to click these links anyway, but if there's a discrepancy between the posts here and the number of votes, and people really want to try and scam their way to a few hundred extra OM without voting, then we'll just remove this. Capiche?

Thanks for voting everyone! If you have time, please also leave a vote and review for us on Top RPG sites (once only).

  The Killing Joke
Posted by: Chloe Price - 12-30-2015, 11:55 PM - Forum: The Nexus - No Replies

An empty void.

Joker was in Gotham, after shooting the Bratgirl. And now he is in an empty void.

Confused, Joker looks around the area. At first, he sees nothing. He begins to think the Batman finally killed 'im. He chuckles a little at the thought. Then, the Clown Prince of Crime sees a grinning silhouette.

Quote:“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”

The Joker is smiling already at the thought of a new world to cause chaos in. He is still confused, but the idea excites him. The white figure hands him an orb that absolutely glows with color, and is all the colors of the rainbow. He stares at it for a second, and suddenly absorbs it.

Quote:“This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most."

The Joker's grin grows wider. So that's where Batsy gets all those wonderful toys! Joker thinks to himself.

Quote:“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn."

The Joker's grin remains, even with the thought that others are here. Others that can be stronger than Batman. Others who can be willing to kill. And yet, his smile remains.

Quote:“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

The black landscape fades away, and what's in its place is...A fountain and a similar, white landscape...Not much of a change in scenery. It takes Joker a few seconds to adjust to the whiteness. For some reason, I can't seem to recall what I was doing before I came here... Joker thinks to himself. Ah well! It's probably nothing. Just another game of cat and mouse with Batsy! Joker laughs a little once again.

Suddenly, a man starts to approach. He's wearing chainmail armor and carrying a mace. He has a half-covering chainmail helmet on his head.

"...Who the heck are you?" the Clown Prince of Crime asks, the grin remaining on his face as the man draws near.

"I'm a knight from Camelot. They sent me here to rescue a new Prime. I'm guessing you're new." the guard says.

"Indeed, I am." the Joker says, putting on a fake English accent. "I'm guessing we're heading to Camelot now."

"...Ha, ha, ha." the guard says in complete deadpan. The Joker laughs.

"Alright, now, let's go!" Joker says, dropping his fake English accent. The guard starts guiding Joker to Camelot.

"So, while we're headed off to Camelot, mind explaining what this Prime...thingy is?" Joker asks. He's still smiling.

"Sure...A Prime is someone who was summoned by Omni." the guard says. "They can summon items or people to them with Omnilium by focusing enough on summoning them."

"Mm-hmm..." Joker says. "Mind if I stop you for a second to ask why you're carrying a mace when you're just scouting for Primes?"

"Oh. That's just a precautionary measure." the guard says. "Anyway...I will explain the rest when you get there."

"Why not now?" Joker asks.

"Another precautionary measure. People don't really kill us if we still have information." the knight says once again.

They continue walking for what was likely...An hour and 45 minutes? Maybe it was less. Maybe it was more. Joker couldn't tell, there was seemingly no day/night system here. Finally, they're close to the gate; a 12-foot-tall portal of stone, and nearly as wide.

"So, that's the way into Camelot?" Joker asks, pointing towards the gate.

"Yep." the Camelot guard says.

"And that means, now that I know where Camelot is, I don't need you anymore."

Joker reaches into his jacket and quickly pulls out a lime green grenade. He pulls the pin, places it on the guard's head, and backs away as the guard grabs the grenade. As soon as he sees it, he pulls back his arm, about to throw the grenade back. The grenade explodes into a ton of green and purple gas. Joker wasn't caught in the explosion. The guard is unhurt, but left uncontrollably laughing.

Quickly, Joker uses his laughter as a chance to attack. He reaches into his jacket once again and pulls out a gun. It's a modern handgun with a BANG! flag on the end. He aims it at the guard while he's still laughing...

Bang.

It hits the guard's unused arm. The effect of the laughing gas wears off, and the guard runs at the Joker, struggling to lift the mace above his head with one hand. The Joker dodges an overhead swing, but it then hit in his left side with the metal mace. The Clown Prince of Crime grunts as the metal hits his side. He clenches it for a minute with his free hand.

"Talk about side-splitting!" Joker says. He laughs before aiming the gun at the officer's head. The BANG! flag moves a little from the sudden movement. The guard sees the barrel of the gun...

Bang. Bang. Bang.

The knight goes down. There are three bullet holes in his head. The Joker laughs, and walks towards the gate to Camelot.

"That guard said this is the entrance to Camelot...Well, looks like Camelot just got a friendlier face." Joker says as he continues walking towards the gate. His smile is unmoved on his face since his fight with the guard.

Another 15 minutes or so, the Joker finally reaches the portal.

"Well. No time to waste. I've gotta make an entrance!" Joker says. He tucks his gun away in his jacket, and walks into the gate.

  The World You Know
Posted by: Enzo Matrix - 12-30-2015, 06:54 PM - Forum: The Dataverse - Replies (5)

Matrix opened his eyes after the bright flash, then shook his head as his senses became acclimated to the Dataverse. He was standing in a grassy field, just outside of what appeared to be a small city. AndrAIa and Frisket were short distances away from him, as they had only been spread out a little on their arrival. What he noticed above all, however, was the way everything seemed so much less vivid. The colors were not as vibrant, the slightest movements seemed clunky, and everything felt slightly less real. He could no longer see the individual strands of AndrAIa's hair, nor the fur on Frisket's body. Even his own skin seemed like the detail was now gone from it.

That's when he realized that it all looked familiar, and this was what he was used to. This odd reality that was the Dataverse was, in fact, more like the world he knew. He held his hand up and inspected it more closely, wondering what exactly that meant. Was Mainframe hidden somewhere in the Dataverse? Somehow he didn't think it would be that simple.

He glanced over to AndrAIa, who was inspecting her own hands in the same amazement. She noticed the similarities to their own realm in this techno-world, which was comforting to Matrix. At least he wasn't going crazy. She lowered her hands and looked to her boyfriend, and the two made eye contact.

"Enzo..." AndrAIa rarely uttered Matrix's first name, except on the occasions that she was utterly overwhelmed by something. "This is..."

"I know," Matrix interrupted, since it was obvious their thoughts were aligned. "I couldn't place it until now, but this is more like Mainframe than the rest of the Omniverse."

"What does that mean, though?" AndrAIa asked as she watched Frisket wander around, sniffing the ground and making sure there was nothing in the immediate area. "Are we back in the Net?"

"I was wondering the same thing," Matrix said, as he looked to the settlement before them. "I think we could get a few answers in that place, over there."

AndrAIa looked over as well. There were a few tall buildings, and what appeared to be an ocean on the other side. It all looked pixelated and fake, however, like it was a cheap picture plastered against a wall. Despite how familiar it seemed, she couldn't ignore the oddities of it, and that left her even more concerned. She knew Matrix was right, though, they had to go investigate if they were to figure this out. She glanced up to the sky above them as she continued to take in her surroundings, though, and suddenly gasped.

"Matrix, look!" AndrAIa shouted, and pointed upwards.

Matrix jumped in surprise from his girlfriend's sudden exclamation. His hand instinctively wrapped around the grips of his gun, but he restrained himself from drawing and brandishing it in any particular direction. Instead, he looked up to the direction she was pointing, and his eyes widened in amazement of the sight.

High above them there seemed to see some sort of sky highway. Yellow lines traced in a full circle to shape out what appeared to be a transparent tube, with vehicles and vessels off all sorts traveling in both directions. It was difficult to make out exactly what they were because of how high in the air they were, even with the assistance of his cybernetic eye. What he could tell, however, was that no two crafts were identical.

"This isn't the Net," Matrix announced in awe as he released his weapon, and Frisket barked in agreement.

"You're right," AndrAIa agreed, somewhat deflated and defeated. For just a brief moment, she had thought that their home was in reach. "But it's something like it."

The three of them watched as a stereotypical white rocket ship lifted off from the city before them, flying straight upwards. It entered the transparent tunnel through a well defined gap in the lines. Then, it merged in with all the traffic and took off down the pipe at an incredible speed, quickly disappearing once it did.

"We're gonna need to get on that highway," Matrix realized.

"I agree," AndrAIa said, but then shifted her glance back downwards. "But let's go to the town, first, and get a feel for this place. Maybe even find a guide."

Matrix slowly nodded as they began to take their first steps towards the city. He really didn't like the idea of relying on outside help, but he had to admit that it might be needed. He shook his focus from the sky above, and instead looked to AndrAIa and Frisket, who had gotten more than a few steps ahead of him while he was distracted.

Something was unsettling about the Dataverse. It was foreign, yet familiar all at once. It just added to the mystery of the Omniverse, and he didn't like that. It only made him realize how far they were from getting back to their home.

A shrill wheeze for air filled the cold and empty void she lay, a short gasp for air soon following as the body of the woman groggily moved into a state of consciousness. Her black hair sprawled across the even darker floor, her glasses on the verge of snapping in two as the woman lie awkwardly on the ground of the abyss.

As she moved her head up, her eyes painfully adjusted to the scene around her, soon remembering her name and what had happened to her seemingly minutes ago. Morene, her name was. A huntress to most, but in her eyes, a striving soul hoping to make things right. Morene had realized that before she had awoken, hearts like hers would most likely run into more trouble than it's worth. Only then did the woman's mind flashed to her own blade locking with a burly winged beast, a legendary gargoyle known only to her as Grigore.

Yet, his name wasn't as important now, considering she pretty much turned him to dust. Of course, Morene thought to herself as she looked down at her arm with her increasingly hazy vision, sitting in this cold and dark room, that she was still bit by this Grigore individual. Didn't feel too nice, and it certainly done her in good considering she got knocked out because of it...

The huntress blinked. Wait, she thought... room? Was she even in a room at all?

Morene shook her head slightly, the migraine still heating up in her skull as she tried to focus. Every single tiny sound and scuffle the woman made as she inspected her wounds echoed throughout the vacant void she sat on. Something didn't add up here.

The woman slowly reached up to grab at her hat covered head, hoping that it would keep her brain from tearing away at every single nerve ending bundled up in a headache induced mess. Squinting, Morene inhaled, filling her already ripped lungs with as much oxygen as she could possibly breathe in. Thankfully enough, her watery eyes dropped enough tears to clear up the sleep building up in the crevices of her eyelids.

Her vision came back to her, yet she could still barely see. She felt no wobbly feeling in her knees as she sat, yet she saw nothing to stand up on. Everything around her was dark as death.

Perhaps she did die? Morene couldn't help but ask, before immediately shooting that theory down based on the stinging pain in her ears. Pressing her gloved hand onto the floor beneath her, the huntress' eyes seemed to deceive her based on her observation that she shouldn't be feeling anything in the first place.

It couldn't have been so dark that she couldn't see anything around her, because she had abilities that helped with counteracting that problem. Even if that was the case, she wouldn't have been able to see herself and the huge row of teeth marks that previously sunk and tore into the bottom of her right gauntlet.

Finally standing upright, Morene turned around, snapping her line of sight towards... something that wasn't completely pitch black.

In matter of fact, this thing Morene had seemingly discovered was glowing with such vibrance it appeared to be completely white.

The more the huntress looked at this figure, the more humanoid it seemed. The object looked as if it were getting closer and closer to the woman, yet it did not move. Morene's vision distorted and bent, almost like a bad drug trip. Could have been illusive magics, but for the strangest reason, the woman did not move in reaction to her suspicions. Morene only stood, waiting for this brightly glowing speck to come to her.

Morene waited and waited longer, watching as the sitting figure of what looked to be a man came only a few meters away from the huntress, not even moving a muscle. Despite this, the huntress couldn't help but feel as if that crooked smile on his otherwise blank and empty white face grew larger and larger the more she looked at it.

She knew he'd begin to speak. He knew he needed to speak. When his voice came however, Morene felt surprised as she listened to the terrifying, yet soothing sound of a thousand voices call out to her all at once.

Omni Wrote:“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”

The huntress blinked, almost unamused. This wasn't the strangest thing she's been a part of for sure, and yet despite her gut reaction to scoff at it all, she couldn't help but feel mesmerized by how vague this Omni was with his words. Perhaps it was the way he talked, or maybe it was the way this realm was described to her. Either way, Morene listened in, interested in Omni's next words as he was interested in her own life, or at least as he claimed to be.

Before Omni spoke another word, the figure raised his hands, forming a brightly colored sphere of raw energy suspended in the black void in front of him. It glided in the air, as if a leaf blowing in the wind, before falling gently into Morene's palms. The feeling of this energy soothed the huntresses various pains, and before the woman could look up and ask Omni of his intentions, his voice echoed into the void, perhaps reading the woman's mind.

Omni Wrote:“This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most."

If she could, Morene would have chuckled. Magic by any other name, or just life energy. Nothing she wasn't too unfamiliar with, so she thought.

As the Omnilium described by Omni pulsed through Morene's body, she couldn't help but notice it felt... different than what she was used to back on Terra, her home world. The huntress felt the need to experiment with this new gift, as she would best describe it.

Morene looked for questions to ask, though all of them came to her mind so fast that she couldn't pick anything specific. Before she even had the chance to think about it, Omni spoke his final words to her.

Omni Wrote:“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.

"That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

The woman's eyes widened. Not because of any sudden revelation as to what Omni had said, his mentions of revival, or the obvious assumption that there would be others like Morene wandering this realm, but because at that very moment, she felt her vision begin blur once more, fading into even darker blackness than the abyss she had stood on only seconds ago.

A few seconds passed, and everything went numb.

. . .

Only a few moments passed before Morene's eyes fluttered open, same as last time. Though the pain was noticeably less present, the woman immediately noticed all the darkness of the void was thereby replaced with nothing but a blank white plane, just as empty as the last.

Or, so it seemed to be empty. Feeling a scratching at her back, the huntress placed a hand at her side, feeling a rough surface behind her. She turned, realizing what she was leaning on to be no wall. Looking up slightly, Morene found the perfectly chiseled brick edges of a fountain, glistening with flowing water by the sound of it.

Getting up, Morene mumbled, "What--"

She stopped for a second as she got to her knees, realizing was finally able to talk again, though that wasn't exactly the reason as to why she stopped in place.

Looking at the strange fountain, the water spewing and flowing from the top of the protruding structure of concrete seemed to sparkle with every drop, subtle yet beautiful enough to put Morene in a sense of awe. She hadn't seen anything so clean in a long time, even though the situation at hand didn't let her spend too much time looking at how pretty the water is.

Sighing, the huntress took her hands and placed it on the ends of the fountain, sitting down comfortably. Crossing her legs, Morene looked around the almost blinding white void and onto the little dots and specs moving around her beyond the horizons. Tugging at her blue poncho she felt covering her shoulder, Morene rested her head onto it, still not quite sure what to make of the situation she was faced with.

Yet, despite the horribly confusing and pace-breaking introduction into this Omniverse, the woman couldn't help but chuckle a bit.

Only a few faint voices and the sounds of flowing water could be heard after that. Breaking the illusion of silence masked by the ambiance of the Nexus, Morene whispered to herself with a hint of irony in her voice and a grin forming upon her lips.

"I must admit, this is quite the first impression, Omni."
