  Vote for Us! (December)
Posted by: Mark - 12-01-2016, 07:38 AM - Forum: Bookkeeping Archive - Replies (351)

You like having more people to play with, right? That was a rhetorical question, because having more people to write with is awesome. Do you also like OM? If the answer is 'yes', which OBVIOUSLY it is, then please vote for us on the following sites!

RPGfix (every 12 hours. If you register, your votes count as x2. Worth the couple of minutes to make an account if you're going to be voting every day)
Top RP Sites (Daily)
Forum Roleplay (Daily. Please also leave a rating/review/comment!)

When you vote, please post here with your total vote count for this month. So "Voted: 1", "Voted: 3" or whatever. Just keep track of 'em. For our counting purposes, clicking vote on all sites, or on RPGfix if only that is available, counts as 1 vote. If you post less than twelve hours since your last post, we won't count it. This means you can get up to two vote counts a day if you vote exactly every twelve hours. Simple? SIMPLE.

At the end of the month, if you posted ...

7-13 times: You get 100 OM.
14-23 times: You get 200 OM.
24+ times: You get 300 OM.
Every day: You get 300 OM, and a hug from me for being so damn diligent.

If you have an alternate character and wish to claim your reward on that account as opposed to your main one, please let us know in the topic before the month ends. If you don't, we'll assume you want the OM on the account you posted with.

We're going to trust in this that people actually click the links and don't just reply. I mean it only takes a few seconds to click these links anyway, but if there's a discrepancy between the posts here and the number of votes, and people really want to try and scam their way to a few hundred extra OM without voting, then we'll just remove this. Capiche?

Thanks for voting everyone! If you have time, please also leave a vote and review for us on Top RPG sites (once only) and Distant Fantasies.

  Omniverse IC Christmas-type Party Interest Check
Posted by: Joline - 12-01-2016, 03:12 AM - Forum: The Whateververse, Man - Replies (9)

Yo.

Remember a few summers back when we ran a beach party thing?

Yeah. That. Except winter holiday-y stuff instead. We can decorate a tree, eat and drink way more than we should, sit around a fire and shoot shit or do whatever. Might also be a neat way for characters that haven't seen each other in a while to touch base again, albeit in a non-canon setting. Might even throw together a Secret Santa-type thing where you get assigned somebody random and have to think up a gift for them.

We'd probably want to get this show on the road as soon as possible and sorta run it as a side thing throughout December, so it's not like "ayy we're celebrating in february". So if I get enough people expressing interest by, say, Friday afternoon (my time), I'll get a first post together and all that jazz.

That being said, you're also welcomed to toss out ideas here if you'd like.

EDIT: It'd be run in the Creative Corner or something, not in the Omniverse proper. Because... I'm not sure I clarified that.

  (flashback and spoilers will be around later) Chara's story
Posted by: Marisa Kirisame - 11-29-2016, 06:02 PM - Forum: The Astral Realm - Replies (4)

Quote: This takes place on Around Mount. Ebott in the Year 201X; Chara is around 8-10 at this point.
Chara was sleeping and dreaming about nothing in particular; When she heard her mother yelled "Chara get you ass down here right now, or do I have to teach you some manners?" She got up as quick as she could and got dressed in her Green sweater and brown hiking shorts. "Coming Mother!"
She ran out the bedroom door, and down the stairs only to see her mom with a switchblade. Her mom was a imposing six foot, quite large and of Russian decent. Chara on the other hand was a orphan of a height of 4'1, her family killed by corrupt police officers, and was of mixed decent. "Now Chara go and, get your dress on true lady's don't wear boy's clothing."

Chara looked down and muttered with as much courage as she could "Yes mother." And walked upstairs to the closet in her tiny room; and pulled out a magenta dress that went down to her ankles, before putting it on. She looked across the room at the backpack and placed the clothes in there before zipping it up. She then grabbed the bag and walked downstairs to the kitchen to grab her locket and rushed out the door to the bus stop.

She sat down on the bench and saw a group of about five older kids walk up to her and threw her on the ground before saying your a demon over and over while kicking her before the bus arrived and picked up the other kids and moved before chara specifically got in the bus. She heard the kids on the bus say "Demons aren't allowed on the bus,' and ' you will never make a difference in history so why try?" By then the bus had turned the corner and was gone. She got up and dusted off her dress to the best of her ability, and started to make her way to the school hopefully today would be better."

Its first period at oak elementary and Chara sits down in the back as usual and waits to see what they are teaching today. Her teacher Ms. yellow got up and got to the front of the class before speaking "Class we have a new student, her name is tina; So I want every one to stand up and say there name." As most of the class goes it finaly gets to her and she steps into the isle to show herself and spoke quickly "Hello, im Chara" and before sitting down she looked at the girl she wore a cyan ribbon, was five feet tall, had white skin, and had blond hair. The teacher said thank you class and looked around the classroom for a desk for Tina to sit at and the only empty ones were around Chara. "how about you sit a few chairs away from Chara."

Tina looked at the teacher and shook her head before sitting by Chara something no one has done before "im fine with sitting with Chara." Chara at this point was speechless and smiled before saying thank you. this was going to be the start of something that would change her life forever.

  Jojo's Random Original Character Generation Thingy
Posted by: Joline - 11-29-2016, 12:02 AM - Forum: The Creative Corner - No Replies

So I got an idea, and we all know that's a dangerous thing. I decided I'd try and make an RNG-based original character creation system using the rules and stuff here, so I did. I'm sharing it with you because I'm really interested in seeing how many holes there are in it, and further, if anybody's interested in trying it and maybe coming up with something cool using it.

I'd like to be perfectly clear here - I'm not trying to make things gamey. My hope is to give people food for thought and ideas if they'd like to make original characters. You can make a lot of cool stuff with the Omniverse's powers and proficiencies, so I think randomizing combinations of things could make for some interesting characters. Explaining how they ended up with this stuff in their home universe, for one, could be neat. How do they cope with, say, their physical form changing into an unfamiliar one at will (flavoured Shapeshifting), or with the innate ability to control every living being's "internal clock" (Time Manipulation), or everything something does literally shaping them (Integration)? More importantly, how do other people perceive these things back home? Was it seen as something to be shunned or celebrated? How have your abilities shaped your character's view of life and the world? There's so much to take into account! Of course, another important point is to make sure your character isn't entirely defined by their abilities, and...

I'm... I'm rambling. You just go do the thing, and see what you end up with, if you'd like. Or just point out flaws in this, and maybe I'll patch 'em up if I've got the time. :frogpipe:

Oh, and before I forget - here's a handy dice roller.

Step 1 - Starting Proficiencies: Roll 1d2 (Flip a coin).
1 = Physical Strength
2 = Ranged

Roll 1d9 up to two times.
1 = Physical Strength
2 = Ranged
3 = Area Attack
4 = Area Shield
5 = Ranged Materialize
6 = Remote Control
7 = Homing
8 = Buff
9 = Debuff

Step 2 - Starting Powers: Roll 1d6. Roll for 2-3 powers or until 4100 OM has been spent overall.
1 = Movement
2 = Physical Manipulation
3 = Sensory
4 = Subterfuge
5 = Spatial
6 = Survival

If 1 = true, roll 1d4.
1 = Super Speed
2 = Burst Movement
3 = Super Jumping
--  3 . 1 = Basic
--  3 . 2 = Advanced
--  3 . 3 = Master
--  3 . 4 = Flight
4 = Master Acrobat

If 2 = true, roll 1d10.
1 = Elasticity
2 = Malleability
3 = Shapeshifting
4 = Growth
5 = Shrink
6 = Integration
7 = Mimic
8 = Hive Mind
--  8 . 1 = Disassemble
9 = Phasing
10 = Fusion (1d4)
--  10 . 1 = Basic
--  10 . 2 = Advanced
--  10 . 3 = Master
--  10 . 4 = Symbiosis

If 3 = true, roll 1d4.
1 = Enhanced Senses (1d3)
--  1 . 1 = Basic
--  1 . 2 = Advanced
--  1 . 3 = Master
2 = Insight
3 = Foresight
4 = Telepathy

If 4 = true, roll 1d2 (flip a coin).
1 = Stealth
2 = Suppression

If 5 = true, roll 1d3.
1 = Telekinesis (1d2)
--  1 . 1 = Basic
--  1 . 2 = Advanced
2 = Teleportation (1d3)
--  2 . 1 = Basic
--  2 . 2 = Advanced
--  2 . 3 = Master
3 = Time Manipulation

If 6 = true, roll 1d3.
1 = Regeneration (1d2)
--  1 . 1 = Basic
--  1 . 2 = Advanced
2 = Healing
3 = Survival

Step 3: Stats
Roll 1d6 four times. A 1 counts as a 0, a 2 counts as a 1, so on, so on. Lower each of your results by 1, starting with the lowest (or highest, if you’re lame), until your results add up to 10. Raise if your rolls were just really bad. If you tied everything and can’t add in ascending or descending order, reroll.

These are, in order, your stats. Your first roll is ATK, your second is DEF, your third is SPD and your fourth is TEC.

Step 4 [Optional]: Moves
You should have somewhere between 3 and 6 Proficiencies/Powers. 1d(# of Proficiencies/Powers you have) twice. Find a way to combine these in such a way that it makes a bit of sense. Congratulations! You have your character’s ‘signature’ move.

Do the same thing again. This is why you want at least 900 OM. These will combine to make your character’s ‘signature’ weapon, tool or other piece of equipment. You may want it to have two starting functions or applications, or you might want your ‘signature’ move to have two starting functions or applications, hence 900 OM.

And... that's about it! Unless I forgot something. If I did, feel free to point it out to me!

  Trapped, but not Springtrapped...

"Cole! Please, listen to me!"

"S-stay back! Please!"

He had nowhere else to go. Fear overtaking his mind. He can't think straight. He could hear the laughter of the other kids. But Lucy... Lucy was fearful herself. Afraid of what Cole might do to himself. She tried to get him to focus but it wasn't enough. Cole didn't believe that she was still on the good side. He continued to back away from her as she tried to approach him. Until... He fell down unconscious. Lucy looked down at him with fear, What happened to him? That was when he faded off. Lucy cried out his name one last time before he was gone. When Cole awoke, everything was black. He tried to call out something but there was no sound. All there was... Was a smiling silhouette. They told him what he needed to know. Why he was there, what Omnilium was, how to use it, and so on. Howevere there was still one unanswered question....

Will he ever see Lucy again?

He was greeted with no answer and left to wake up once more in a white void.

Cole Raven Evans has entered the Omniverse.

When he awoke, he looked around, there was nothing to be seen... Except for far away objects and a fountain. But what was weird most of all... He can't remember what happened before he was summoned by Omni. It was... Foggy, to say the least. But there was only one thing he could pick out of what he CAN remember.

Lucy's voice.

She was panicking, crying out his name in fear. Did she... Did she still trust him? Why? He killed her! Why would she trust a murderer like him?

He...

He couldn't believe it. But then again... He guessed best friends really are forever.

But for right now, he had to focus on his current situation. Where was he and... Where were other people?

"Hello?" he called out. "Is anyone there?"

  Switching Ascesnion to Hera Xerxes
Posted by: Gwendolyn - 11-27-2016, 06:09 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (3)

Name: Hera Xerxes

Source: Original

History:

Project Pantheon

Hera was only five when she was taken from her family, and enrolled in the Pantheon Program. A test to find out the possible neural capacity of the current generation. The best were hand-picked and molded into efficient and almost robotic soldiers, through the use of technology and physiological programming. Thus it was with Hera.

She took to the training exercises with a determination and focus rarely seen, and excelled, at the top of her category within fifteen years. She served as the Coordinator for her own squad for an additional three years before the war erupted. Tensions between the leading superpowers of the world over natural resources had led global massacre. Entire countries mobilized, total war taking over the globe. Entire swaths of the world were rendered inhabitable by radiation from bombs. Others were rendered useless by pollution long ago.

She and her team were tasked with eliminating high-value targets behind enemy lines. It was high-risk, high-reward strategy. It was on one of these missions, to destroy an enemy POW camp, that her team was betrayed and captured leading to the rest of her teammates' deaths. After her execution at the hands of her captors, she finds she isn't dead anymore.

Appearance:

[Image: 0b94ff761b3893800862e118bf6995ff.jpg]

Underneath her mask, which is removable, she has long, chestnut hair that is usually tied back in a ponytail. She stands about 6'5", and her eyes are the same orange color of the light of her suit

Personality:

A solider since childhood, Hera is very serious when it comes to Matters of combat or subterfuge. Off the battlefield, she is very protective and caring of other people, especially those she has chosen to champion. Her way of speaking is considered rude and unrefined to many, and once set on a decision, you'd be better off trying to get her to freeze over than to change her mind.

STATS:

STR:2
DEF:1
SPD:3
TEC: 4

Starting Proficiencies: Ranged Proficiency (1000)

Starting Powers: Stealth (1200) Suppression (1000)

Starting Moves:

Twin Pistols: (Ranged Cost: 300)

Each handgun is pretty simple
In design, a matte black color, each clip capable of holding seven rounds. They can be used in sync or individually, their maximum effective range at about 25 meters. Anything beyond that is not going to be accurate, due to the air resistance created by the hollow-tip bullets. They are holstered on her left and right thigh, and she can grab them and begin to fire in about three seconds. It takes about two seconds to reload a new clip into the gun, and they can be fired while moving.

Through the gate he went, his pace as painfully slow as it ever was. Countless eons of magic, knowledge of it gifted to him and made part of his mental library even in his millennium-long slumbers by his ancient masters had imparted a sense of when there was strangeness at work. And the portal within the gate, as he slowly strode through it on his shuffling stride, filled him with a clear sense of that strangeness. A shift in tone of the surroundings, from the blank, endless white of that insufferable void, to a dreary, desolate landscape of blasted, dying earth and swirling mists, suffused all through with a deep, penetrating chill.

It was enough to rob the sensation of balance and fine detail from anyone, and even the slow shuffle of the ever-living sorcerer was briefly arrested, sent into a light sideways stumble, before his balance caught itself and he resumed his forward stride uninterrupted.

He could sense it, here... It was in the very air. The very ground, under his sickly, bandaged feet. Pale, dull gray mist and fog blanketed the earth, making it difficult to see more than a short ways off, and giving the entire place an almost unbearably gloomy feel. It was not a place that anyone would come to of their own volition; not a place that anyone could reasonably dwell in if they had any other option. It was a warren of death and sorrow, and a place that could only give rise to more, and ever more, of the same. Dark, twisted by some ancient tragedy unknowable in its entirety to anyone not present to witness it first-hand...

It spoke to Mumm-Ra, deep in the last few tattered shreds of a soul he had left. It spoke of the promise that there was work to be done, here. Much work indeed. Ever did some brave, or broken fools try to remain proud and hopeful, forestalling oncoming darkness and an inevitable decline into the slow, painful end that awaited them. It would have been pitiable, had it not been entirely too laughable. Indeed, merely imagining the foolish notions that gave rise to such sickening hope, in the midst of all this despair clawing from every side, and spewing forth from the very earth, it was all that the sorcerous fiend could do not to dissolve fully into a mad fit of cackling. Even as it was, his dried, weathered mouth was curled in a grin, teeth parted to let a wheezing cackle flow out into his dim surroundings. There was no warmth in his breath to mist in the chill air, no sense of life to give the mirth billowing forth in ragged gasps any true source.

It was unsettling. That had often been said, by those who served him.

His mirth slowly subsided, letting his thoughts resume their dark path. There was no doubt such a foolish bastion of resistance to the otherwise total dominion of the depressing mire this place was made of somewhere to be found out there. And in so realizing, the goal that he had pondered over on his slow path through the nexus had been made quite clear to him: It must be destroyed. Evil had taken root here, but if it had not yet fully spread its black leaves over the entirety of this desolate place, then it must be cultivated and guided, strengthened and aided until it had done so.

It was very fortunate that Mumm-Ra would be very insistent on doing precisely that. He would let evil grow and spread if he had to plant it anew himself. Such a blighted location would perhaps be...suitable for a place to construct an altar to his masters. Not his permanent residence — there would be no room here for the mighty, towering black pyramid he would need to securely house his sarcophagus and other vital relics — but a sign of tribute nonetheless, to show the Ancient Spirits that their will was enforced.
