  Vehicle sizing
Posted by: Paige Turner - 01-25-2017, 11:14 PM - Forum: Help Desk - Replies (13)

Of course, it is mentioned that things like motorbikes and single horses are able to go through gates, but horse drawn carriages and wind-powered boats would too large to fit.  Makes sense; for instance, maybe the sail is really tall and would break upon entering the portal, rendering the vehicle itself completely useless.  What I want to know is would a car count as a large vehicle?  I noticed that, in the Nexus information, gates are listed as being twelve feet tall and nearly as wide.  Considering that Dan's car would be 5.6 feet wide and 4.9 feet tall, would it be able to drive through the portal itself or not?

I'm unsure, as the actual portal part of the gate is left kinda ambiguous in some points.  Does it stretch nearly to the edges of the gate, sorta like an archway?  Is there more gate than portal, making it look more like a door?  When Omni states that the gate is 12' tall and almost 12' wide, does that refer to the portal or the frame around it as well?  These kinds of things make it difficult to definitively say "yes, Dan's car can drive through", especially given my track record of being a dunce.

Hi!! I have recently come back from inactivity, but i've still been developing Cat as a character in other places, so a lot of what's on her roster is vaguely outdated. Appearance and Personality are more or less still the same. a few tweaks might be needed (i have new image references), but I've found a genuine reason for her having her powers that isn't just 'she got them when Omni brought her to the Omniverse'. To put it simply, I tied it to the greek mythology, using Hebe, the goddess of youth, and her son Alexiares (He who wards off war). Her power set won't change at all, it just has a more thorough origin, and she doesn't remember her past to begin with, so it's really just for me to have it written down somewhere. Is this something that needs staff approval first or can I just go ahead and do it?

So, I'm working on a poem for my creative writing class, and have come up with a rough draft. If anyone has any suggestions, comments, concerns, questions, or any other type of constructive criticism, I am happy to receive them. And, if you just want to say "Hey, you suck" That's fine to. I'll just be really sad for a long time.

My Mental State

I’m broken in a way that nobody can fix
I’m shattered in a way only time will heal
I’m torn by the person who I’d give anything for
I’m flattened by the damage caused by mistakes

I’m broken, demolished, incapable of repair
Too many have tried to help, and they’ve all failed
I shrug them off, saying that everything is fine
While on the inside I don’t even know what’s in my own mind

I’m shattered, the pieces spread to everywhere I’ve been
My mere presence can bring turmoil and strife
I’ve turned friends into enemies, I’ve caused teams to dissolve
But in the eye of the storm, I’m the loneliest of all

I’m torn, the shreds of me lie in a helpless pile
I was manipulated, played with by a succubus in disguise
I watch as the pieces of me are blown away with by the wind
And yet I’d still give her even my final dying breath

I’m flattened, I can never escape what I’ve done.
Between my ignorance and incompetence, I’m always at fault
It’s my responsibility, my mission, my job, my part
But even I can do nothing but watch it fall apart

I’m not who I appear to be on the surface
I sit alone at my desk, I might smile or laugh
But on the inside, I’m constantly fighting myself
Am I happy? Am I sad? Am I alone? Am I afraid?

I miss her. I love her. I want nothing more than her.
I’ll never tell her. When she learned it, she destroyed me.
Imagine what she would do if she knew what I would still do for her.
She will never hear these words, never know my true thoughts.

I am broken, and what is broken does not talk
I am shattered, and what is shattered can not be read
I am torn, and what is torn will never be cared for
I am flattened, and what is flattened is as good as dead

There it was. Not even two minutes spent in Camelot and Erika had found her first clue. Stone structures had been knocked off of their supports. The claw marks on the stone suggested that something non-human had gotten it’s slimy lizard-like hands on it, and the charred grass was another tell-tale sign that Ghidorah had been through. From there, a dirt path led off in the distance, charred grass and burned trees leaned feebly flowing in the wind, ready to fall. Someone seems to have been doing something along the road. Erika decided that she would have to talk to more people. The mere thought of social interaction tore at every fiber of her being, knowing she would actually have to be nice to those she spoke to if she wanted any information. The vigilante put on her best faux face and approached the the man who was working some wooden pole in the ground.

“Excuse me Sir.” Erika called out. “How goes your day?” How badly she just wanted to ask, ‘What the fuck are you doing?’ instead. God being polite is not only tedious, but annoying as well.

The man raised his head and smiled at the obviously foreign traveller. “Welcome to Camelot,” He said in a cheery tone. Shoot me. The vigilante’s thoughts contradicted her facial expressions. Why the hell is so happy? “I’m just putting up a new sign for the towns. Some had the nerve to tear it from the ground and snap it splinters!”

How tragic. I fucking piece of wood is snapped in half an people lose their shit.

“That’s horrible! What kind of person would just break a direction sign? How are people supposed to know which way they’re going!” Erika sounded sincere in that sentence when she was genuinely mocking the petty simpleton who would care about such a stupid thing. You can see Minas Tirith from the fucking gate. It’s a straight shot. How stupid can people be?

“I thought the same exact thing! That’s why I offered to replace it myself.” He said. “Something unnatural ripped this pole from the ground. There were giant claw marks scratched into the wood of the previous sign.”

“Do you happen to know what it looked like?” Erika asked, keeping up her faux tone of voice. The old man took a break from working on his precious sign, stretching out his back with his hands. His spine cracked back into place with loud, distinctive pops. He groaned in simultaneous relief and pain as he did so. Poor dude.

“Can’t say I did young lady. Why would you want to know? You aren’t thinkin’ about chasing after that monster are you?” He asked with obvious concern, like a tiny girl armed to the teeth weapons couldn’t handle an overgrown lizard with two heads that breathes lightning. How sexist.

“I am sir. Looking for a challenge and a dragon seems reasonable enough to me.” The old man looked dumbfounded at Erika. Was she truly serious or was that a joke? Getting another good look at her, she did have quite a few weapons and now he had realized she was a prime. Why anyone, Prime or Secondary, would go chasing dragons was beyond him. Nevertheless, he might as well help her out. She would just reincarnate at the Fountain of Infinity if she did die.

“If you truly want to go chasing after beings of destruction, your best best is to follow their wake of obliteration.” The man said pointing at the ruins forest. “I’d wager your target is somewhere in there, and if not, the trail should lead all the way up to his tail.” Thanks numbnuts. Would have never figured that one out without your input.

“Thank you sir! Have fun finishing up your sign!” Erika said with more mocking, this time a little more apparent. As she disappeared from the man’s view she mimicked the sound of dry heaving. “Daikiraidesuyo.” She muttered under her breath. People like that disgusted her.

The only thing she needed to do right now was follow Ghidorah’s scarred wrath. She walked through the blackened ash of grass and tree bark towards wherever the source might be. Let’s hope she didn’t have to talk to anymore simpleton idiots.

Grogginess filled Jacket as he started to wake up to a new day but the lighting of this district still hasn't changed due to no natural light. Outside looked to be the same way that it was last night when Jacket went to sleep with the colorful neon lights that illuminated the city. There was an alarm clock next to Jacket on a nightstand and it read 9:30 am. He rolls on his back, wiping his eyes from the sand under them. After laying there for a minute debating on getting out of bed, the prime decides to get up and experience another day in the Omniverse. A yawn come out of his mouth while sitting up at the end of his bed and stands up, stretching his arms even standing high on the tip of his toes. He takes off his varsity jacket from being too warm from the temperature of the apartment.

The jacket is hung on his right shoulder as he walks through the open door frame. He flips the lights on for the apartment so Jacket doesn't have to fumble in the darkness. Hunger fills his stomach with it growling for a breakfast meal to start the day. He opens one of the cabinets and forgot he hasn't purchased any groceries yet. Jacket puts his coat on one of the chair's back. His orb of omnilium drops from one of the pockets, onto the kitchen floor making a bang noise from hitting the hard surface. Funny, he remembers now getting this orb and what it's used for. Food can actually be possibly free from the use of it. The orb gets picked up from the ground being held by Jacket and he sits in the chair that doesn't have his coat on and thinks about breakfast food. Suddenly from putting it on his mind, the breakfast gets made instantly in front of him on a plate with a fork including scrambled eggs, three sausage links, and two buttered toast with a glass of orange juice.

Before he wanted to chow down, TV came to his mind and desired to watch the programs of Coruscant since the kitchen was connected to the living room giving a view where Jacket was at to see the flat screen. The prime gets up from the table and searches for the remote in the other room. It didn't take a minute to find the remote due to it sitting on the coffee table. He switches on the TV and a channel was on the main news. Jacket walks back to the kitchen and sits down facing the television then begins eating his breakfast.

"You are now watching Channel Four, action news. Coruscant's number one pick for the news. Here is Sophia Chambers bringing you the latest" said the male announcer of the intro to the program.

She had red business attire on with her race being Caucasian and age looking to be in the late 30s. Her hair was black and long going pass the shoulders. From all the makeup, the news anchor tried to present herself as clean and formal for the air. A big black desk was in front of her while sitting with some screens in the back showing some effects. She was the only one present at the table right now.

"Good morning Coruscant. Recently, reports are coming in about gang violence increasing in the following days. A name that locals have been lately that could be apart of these events are known as the 'Westside'. The EPD is investigating further into this situation." said the news anchor with a electronic tablet in her hands while she was looking at the camera.

"In other news..." continued Sophia covering other stories around the city.

After eating breakfast, Jacket goes to the bathroom for a shower. Body wash, shampoo, towel, and hygiene products were summoned by him. Cleaning off for him only took about eleven minutes. Fresh clothes got summoned by him which were the same pants, socks, and shirt that he wore yesterday which was his signature style. He walks out of the bathroom clean and goes to the living room to lounge out and watch TV of Coruscant. Interesting enough, some of the programs that he watch were entertaining. Over an hour was spent on the couch with Jacket, relaxing in his apartment and eating snacks he summoned.

Suddenly, he hears a phone ringing in his home that sounded like his old answering machine. Though, he doesn't even remember this apartment come with any phone service. Jacket still lays on the couch focusing on the TV and tries to ignore the ringing noise. Soon enough, the prime turns off the TV and goes to where he is hearing the noise. Strangely, there was a stand next to his apartment's door with an answer machine that looked just like his old one. The red light on the retro technology flashes with each ring that happened. A feeling fell over him again similar to the one he had at the phone booth. Jacket picks up the phone and puts it close to his ear to hear who was calling him.

"Hello, I was calling for an exterminator to schedule today to come over to my house and get rid of these pesky roaches. My address is 2034 Hyper Drive North. It's a nasty problem that needs to be taken care of now." said the caller then Jacket hangs up the phone.

He knows what has to be done and goes into the kitchen to grab his jacket then walks out of his apartment shutting everything off. The door opens automatically as Jacket walks out and shuts behind him. It gets locked up with him inserting his card to activate the security. Jacket begins walking down the hall and proceeds to exit the apartment complex. Soon enough, he's outside on the sidewalk of the street that had some residence walking and hovering cars passing by. His Delorean gets summoned from his ominilium that took about a couple of minutes. He opens the driver's gull wing door and shuts its when he got in the vehicle. Jacket also uses the orb to obtain a GPS that he has been hearing about in this city. It didn't take long for him to figure out how to put the address in and get directions. The car gets out of the parallel park space and begins driving down the street through parts of tier four.

That Spell That Turns People Into Sheep

A small island slightly off the coast of Kalimdor, aptly named Theramore. Such was the place that Jaina Proudmoore, the sole daughter and last living child of the once great Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, had begun to call her home. With her father’s influence and status, her childhood had been a privileged one, alas similarly a harsh one. Daelin had always instilled his military understanding upon her daughter - especially so after her brother’s death.

Of course, the girl had had her own aspirations as well; she could still remember the childlike fascination and sense of wonder she’d felt toward the tales and legends about the Guardian of Tirisfal, Aegwynn. It seemed only fitting that she’d developed a potential for magic, and as such had been carted off to Dalaran, home to some of Azeroth’s greatest mages and Kir Tor, to learn how to utilize her newly found talent.

Past the rose tinted glass of her tower, her eyes saw not the storm raging outside. Rather, the days which seemed to be now naught, but distant past. Those days that she had used to hide away, tucked under the comforting shade of an apple tree with a musty tome in her hands. Together with the soft, verdant grass beneath her toes and the overflowing, bristling magic in the air. All she had wanted to do, was to study. Magic had always fascinated her, driven her to understand the nature of it, to study whether it was in the beautiful, lively plazas of Dalaran, or hidden away in the highest of towers with the most precious of tomes. She missed it. She missed him.

A spiderweb of cracks appeared to the rose tinted memories before her eyes, shattering as the raging, pouring storm revealed itself once more. The sea churned, wallowing unhappily, its wrath unleashed upon the ships, swaying the constructs in its unforgiving caress. The howling wind cut through the stone towers of Theramore, chilling its residents down to the very cores of their bones.

There was something about the display of natural wrath that felt so very wrong. The air hung heavy despite the blasting gusts and the grass seemed to be dying of sickness, rather than displaying its lush green hues. It was of magical nature, the sickly taste of evil spiking her senses. The frozen winds of Northrend were once more reaching their icebound tendrils to Theramore.

But little did she know, she wouldn’t be there to witness it.

  Reimagining your character.
Posted by: Meriwa - 01-22-2017, 02:32 PM - Forum: Help Desk - Replies (4)

Ok, so I realised a thing about my character, Nezha.

I may have shut myself out of his progression by giving him flight from the start.

So is it possible for me to downgrade from Flight down to Master Super Jumping and maybe get a refund for the difference?

And I realised another thing. My character is the mortal Air Gear-verse reincarnation of Nezha the Deity (a version that has not discovered its ties to divinity). I realised that this could also be seen as my character being a sort of "cross-verse" unrealised aspect of Nezha the Deity?

So to my question regarding my second realisation, could I design moves/transformations/etc that would grant Nezha access to aspects of alternate versions of himself? Like a transformation move that would allow him to, for example, borrow the appearance of the Nezha Warframe or a similar change?

  Going home. Dress light.
Posted by: Erik Vrell - 01-22-2017, 06:53 AM - Forum: The Nexus - No Replies

Erik rubbed his eyes as he rose to his feet. He had failed once again. The psychic sat on the edge of the fountain for a while and moped, depressed that the blade had slipped through his fingers. Gathering all of his emotional strength, Erik stood and gingerly touched his chest where the sword had almost cut him in half. There was a scar running the length of his body, a disfiguring mark in the rough shape of an exceptionally morbid grin.

The scar wasn't just an ugly wound. While Erik could remove it whenever he wanted, the psychic kept it as a reminder of his failures, just like the scar over his eye. Breathing deeply, Erik began summoning a horse. It had been too long since he had been to Nippur, and he had no idea what state the city would be in. Seeing Shay was a good sign, but Erik wanted to see for himself. Speaking of Shay, Erik hadn't seen the Templar since the fight for the blade.

Erik finished summoning his horse and considered sitting and sulking more, but he knew that he wouldn't get anywhere without taking action. Reluctantly mounting, Erik spurred the horse towards the Endless Dunes gate, hoping that New Babylon would still be in one piece when he got there, preferably with Shay and the blade waiting as well.

  Garrosh Hellscream
Posted by: Alex - 01-22-2017, 01:12 AM - Forum: Site NPCs - No Replies

[float=right][Image: 467?cb=20161023134948][/float]Location/Role:  Garrosh's "New Horde," once dormant, has begun to wreak havoc in the Tangled Green.  Garrosh hates or at least looks down on most other established factions for various reasons. Rumors say he intends to assault Mokugare and Yggdrasil, and he openly deplores Ambrosia's all-are-welcome policies. His only allies are the orcs of the Hidden Temple, but even they are concerned of his war-mongering.

Garrosh and the New Horde can be found deep in the Tangled Green at their base of operations, a small camp of tents surrounded by a wall of pikes and Horde flags, a few miles from the Hidden Temple.

Story: Garrosh Hellscream was the former Warchief of the Horde. He is the son of the heroic warrior Grommash Hellscream. When the orc clans of Draenor united to form the first Horde in order to march through the Dark Portal to conquer Azeroth, Garrosh remained behind in Nagrand due to being infected with red pox, a plague that had begun to infect the orcs.

When then-Warchief Thrall, founder of the renewed Horde, traveled to Nagrand, he met Garrosh. Though he wasn't demonically influenced himself, Garrosh was haunted by his family's legacy: his father was the first orc to embrace corruption by drinking the blood of the pit lord Mannoroth. Garrosh lived in the shadow of his father's acts until he met Thrall, who explained to the younger Hellscream that Grommash ultimately gave his life to lift the demonic blood-curse, and freed his race from servitude to dark forces. Learning of his father's great deeds, Garrosh returned to Azeroth with Thrall and became a member of the Horde.

After showing his ferocity and bravery in battle, Thrall put Garrosh in charge of the Warsong Offensive, the Horde armies sent to wage war against the Lich King. Following the war's end, Garrosh returned to Orgrimmar as a venerated war hero. Garrosh eventually became the Warchief of the Horde after Thrall stepped down to focus on his shamanistic duties during the Cataclysm that tore Azeroth apart.

Brash, stubborn and impatient, all Garrosh wished as Warchief was to conquer all of Azeroth in the name of the Horde, and was willing to crush any who stood in his way, even the other members of the Horde. Garrosh's increasingly brutal pursuit of dominance led him to turn to ever darker sources of power, earning the hatred and distrust of the other races and leaders of the Horde and of the denizens of Pandaria, particularly the Shado-pan, the order of Pandaren guardians. After narrowly surviving an assassination attempt by Garrosh, the troll leader Vol'jin began an uprising against the Warchief, leading the other races of the Horde in increasingly open rebellion against their former leader.

Garrosh was defeated in a siege of Orgrimmar by Alliance and Horde champions. Both factions agreed to allow Garrosh to be tried for his crimes by the Pandaren, whose homeland suffered the greatest as a result of Garrosh's actions. Garrosh subsequently escaped imprisonment and went back in time to his homeworld of Draenor before the rise of the Horde. He changed the future, creating an alternate timeline in hopes of conquering Azeroth for the Horde.

As a result, Thrall challenged Garrosh to Mak'gora, an honourable duel to the death. As they battled at the Stones of Prophecy, Garrosh claimed that his actions were for the good of the Horde.  He roared that it was Thrall who had made him Warchief and left him to "pick up the pieces". Though outmatched physically, Thrall called upon the formidable powers of the elements to grasp Garrosh in a hand of earth. Garrosh raged that Thrall had made him what he was, to which Thrall retaliated by saying that Garrosh had chosen his own destiny, before Thrall ended his life with a bolt of lightning.

Or so he thought.

Garrosh instead arrived in the Omniverse. Shortly after his arrival, he sought a way home to Azeroth. He knew that he had to lead a march on the one responsible: Omni. He traveled the Omniverse alone, and uncharacteristically quiet, to acquire information about the vast multiverse. Finally, he learned there were other orcs in the Tangled Green.

Once he arrived, Garrosh expected a warrior's welcome. But he was disappointed to find that, not only did the orcs not know who he was, but orcs were considered a lesser and barbaric race by others. He saw a race of orcs too cowardly to face true threats, instead resorting to squabbling with each other for petty dominance. His pride stung, Garrosh took it upon himself to unite the small orcish tribes of the Green and to build a new Horde. And this time, he would learn from his mistakes of trusting foreign races - the treacherous trolls and the like. He would make a Horde of warrior orcs, the likes of which the Omniverse had never seen.

Garrosh slowly grows in power as he swallows up more tribes, whether they be orc, ork, or uruks.  He initially gained power by challenging other leaders to Mak'gora and defeating them. Sometimes he would raid villages and enslave other warriors. Now Garrosh's Horde consists of dozens of bloodthirsty and belligerent orcs, with Garrosh at their helm.

However, the chaos left in his trail has attracted the attention of both Coruscant, who hopes to direct his rampage at Camelot in an effort to further weaken their influence in the Green.
