  [Round 2 - C] Gilgamesh & Desman vs Erik Vrell & Deadpool
Posted by: Karl Jak - 06-25-2018, 04:12 PM - Forum: The Dante Verse - Replies (9)

Gilgamesh fumed as he tugged at the belt anchored around his waist.  He didn’t know what was worse—the furry blue parka or the fact that he was connected to Desman Black.

“Lookit,” Deadpool muttered to his partner. “Your boss got a leash.  Now he’s a literal mongrel.”

“I remember you,” Gilgamesh grumbled as he stepped forward, indirectly yanking an unwary Desman off his feet.  The young man smacked his knees into the ground and had a brief moment to wince before the king started dragging him toward Deadpool and Erik.  “Funny man.  You won’t be so funny when you’re on your knees.”

Deadpool pressed his palms to his cheeks.  “Is that a promise?”

“Snowdown” – This Fight Area is the (oddly) flat summit of a snow- and ice-covered mountain, likely inspired by a location or two in the Frozen Fields. The diameter of the Fight Area expands beyond the summit (which has a diameter of roughly 30 feet) by about 50 additional feet. Just be aware that the drop off from the summit is about three stories. So try and stop your fall, because that might hurt, pending your capabilities. Maybe your partner will save you, since you and your partner are connected to one another by an elastic tether cable. Have fun.

Stipulations: Tag team partners are clad in fuzzy parkas to protect them from the elements. These are optional and can be removed. The four-foot spandex tether cable that hooks partners together at the waist? Indestructible. The belt around your waist anchoring said tether? Locked in place. Indestructible. Well gosh. Hope you can communicate well.

  [Round 2 - C] Taloc & Makoto vs Ash & Jak Mar
Posted by: Karl Jak - 06-25-2018, 04:11 PM - Forum: The Dante Verse - Replies (9)

Taloc and Makoto frowned as they stepped through the door into the dining room.  The ornate entrance shut behind them with a resounding click that made both men glance over their shoulder.  Taloc jiggled the doorknob.

“It’s locked,” a voice purred from the other side of the room.

The two men glanced and saw a horned demon lying across the far end of a massive dining table.  Ash, twirling a pewter knife in her hand, glanced to the two new arrivals.  “Ready for a dinner party?”  She asked with a smile as a gurgling noise pulled everyone’s attention to a statue on the second floor.  A moment later, bubbling champagne started to pour from the spout.

Behind Ash, Jak scowled as the fizzing alcohol started to splash on the ground.

“Party TOO Hard” – The fight area is an elaborate dining hall, two stories tall (15 feet or so) and roughly forty feet long. There’s a table in the center with an elegant meal laid out, although obviously the intention is not dinnertime. Up above (eight feet up) is a balcony that circles three sides of the room. There are plenty of doors, windows, and even a fireplace, but the barrier of the Fight Area lines up with the walls of the room. Break a door, and you’ll just bump into the barrier. So sad!

But that’s not all! On the balcony is a fancy statue of an angel holding a cup. From that cup pours a steady stream of champagne. The bubbly liquid is unable to escape the room because of the barrier, so it will gradually fill up the dining hall. At a rate of about 2 feet per post. Even worse, the f**king Dante Verse has hexed you so you can drown. Finish the fight as fast as you can! Slosh around that bubbly quick and KO your foe.

Stipulation: Room is filling up with champagne. Destroying the statue will not stop the flow. Drinking the champagne will just cause it to flow faster and make you drunk (#DantePhysics). Something in the champagne makes it so you can ‘drown’ and die horribly (#DantePhysics).

  General Question
Posted by: A Rusty Bed Pan - 06-25-2018, 02:43 PM - Forum: Help Desk - Replies (2)

Quick question--are characters allowed that have knowledge of other characters?

For example, a person from the Ready Player One 'verse may have knowledge of other characters as they were in their world as pop culture. That may not mean they how that person is or is supposed to be now, but I just wanted to check.

Also, if my character is from the VR gaming world, can his/her name be a user name? Like...A Rusty Bed Pan, for example? >.>

Thanks!

  Terrifying God-Child
Posted by: Talos Quinn - 06-25-2018, 12:42 AM - Forum: The Nexus - Replies (3)

“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”

Omni hands you a glimmering orb in which all the colors of the rainbow coalesce. “This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.

“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.

“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

----

The most pertinent fact Talos had just learned was that his continued existence depended on being interesting to a terrifying god-child.

It occurred to him as he stood, trembling slightly, in front of an alabaster fountain, that he should have inquired as to what things the terrifying god-child found entertaining.

But there had not seemed an opportune moment to interject. And one did not interrupt terrifying god-children. It was not done.

On reflection, the entire experience had the feel of a recorded message. A miraculously high-fidelity recording that touched all senses. A truly unique orientation video.

Oh. And there was rainbow miracle stuff. What was it called? Omni-things. Wish-fulfillment material. The stuff of dreams made manifest.

It occurred to Talos that this might be a dream, but he dismissed that quickly as trite. It might be true, but to assume it felt cliche, and Talos disliked being cliche, even when his entertainment value was not being judged by a terrifying god-child.

Right. Entertaining the TGC (he was tired of saying terrifying god-child in his head, it was making him anxious, so he decided to go with an acronym). He should get on that. What did children like? Candy? Hoop trundling? His experience with children was somewhat dated, as he had avoided them like the plague since becoming a horrifying blood drinking monster two centuries ago.

Juggling. Children always liked juggling. But he didn't have anything to juggle.

But he did have some glowy-rainbow stuff that would turn into anything he could imagine.

...

He had glowy-rainbow stuff that would turn into ANYTHING he could IMAGINE.

Talos immediately forgot about being terrified of the TGC and started trying to manifest Escher paintings in the world around him.

  An Emerald Will Blazes Bright
Posted by: Jack Darby - 06-24-2018, 10:52 PM - Forum: The Tangled Green - Replies (2)

His right hand that had held the Oan Power Ring had been viciously cut off, and the wound was gushing out blood. As the wound continued to shoot out like a fire hose, Jack wished that he had been more skilled with the Power Ring he had once had. Now that he no longer possessed the Oan Power Ring there was a lot he couldn't do. The majority of the tricks he had learned with the ring were no longer options because he lacked them. Cursing the humidity of the Tangled Green, Jack made a mental promise to himself that he was going to master the next item he created. Wait, next item. She had called him a disgrace, and it was true. Jack had never had any training with the power ring. She had said it was one of the most powerful weapons in all the universes, so he planned on recreating the ring, but more stable than it had been. In order to recreate the Power Ring, Jack was going to need to possess something more than Omnilium because he didn't trust his skills at using Omnilium to make a power ring.

The Key to Vector Sigma would be a good item, perhaps if he could combine it with the Forge of Solus Prime. Sadly he had neither item, and wasn't a Cybertronian anymore. Using them was out of the question, right? No, it wasn't. Omni had said Omnilium could create anything the user wanted, should they have enough and desire it enough. In the mean time he needed to find someone to educate him on how to use the replica of the Bow of Primus. Since it was all he had left, Jack would have to learn how to operate it one handed until his hand regenerated, or he could restore it.

Livestream: King Bradley Addresses 13th Legion!
Posted by: Storyteller - 06-24-2018, 04:20 PM - Forum: Dataverse Messageboards - No Replies

Everywhere around the upper tiers of Coruscant a live news feed breaks through your regularly scheduled programming. Following the events and reports from the Holo-Net News Network, King Bradley has decided to address the entirety of the 13th Legion and personally award specific members the Imperial Cross. As the video feed focuses in you see Bradley walking onto the stage to a podium that sits in front of six battalions of Clone Troopers, all in their armor, minus helmets. As the King reaches center stage every person on the screen stands to salute him.

Quote:“At ease, Thirteen.” The King said, holding up both his hands.

Every Clone Trooper, as if programmed in unison, put both hands behind their back and widened their stance.

“I have gathered you here to honor some of the Empire’s finest soldiers. For in its hour of need they took the initiative and sought justice for crimes committed against the state.” He said into the microphones, motioning behind him to the special forces team.

“When I first met Captain Zulenka she was an Ensign with everything to prove to the Empire; that she wasn’t a criminal. That day I ordered a stay on her incarceration along with Corporal Terra. I told them both to prove themselves. I’d say they’ve done that and more. Wouldn’t you agree, Thirteen!?”

The last sentence he shouted, raising his hands to the crowd, which caused the entire room to erupt into cheering and shouts of praise for the team who had successfully stopped two full companies of Rebel Soldiers on Tier 2 and avenged the lost members of the Empire at the ambushed party. Trixie scanned the room as each of the Clones around her, including hangar personnel and military staff cheered for her and her team. To finally be on the good side of the Empire almost brought tears to her eyes, but the Mistress maintained composure. Righting her posture and fixing her gaze on Bradley, he had turned to take something from his assistant.

“Captain Beatrix Zulenka. In recognition for your heroic action on Tier 2 you are being awarded the Imperial Cross and promoted to Major. Congratulations!” He held out his hand for Trixie to shake, which prompted the newly promoted redhead to step forward and firmly shake the King’s hand.

“Thank you, sir!” She said, saluting him as he handed her a wooden box containing her golden oak leaves.

The video continues on to show King Bradley awarding promotions and medals to Seventeen, November, and Aisha. As the ceremony wraps up the video feed ends with the insignia of the 13th Legion being displayed. It lasts for a full minute and then the regularly scheduled programming continues.

  The Duel in the Green
Posted by: Harry Potter - 06-24-2018, 03:12 PM - Forum: The Tangled Green - Replies (5)

Luna Lovegood, the Jedi Knight, was meditating silently beneath the towering bamboo of the Tangled Green.

The witch floated gently a foot above the ground, her legs crossed, her hands on her knees, her platinum blonde hair levitating strangely. She breathed in through her nose, inhaling honeysuckle and lilac, and she exhaled through her mouth expertly.

Luna had thus sat for the last year, without eating or sleeping or moving at all, subsisting off the pure wave of omnidichlorians that was released into the omniverse since Harry Potter walked out of the Nexus fountain. She kept the same dreamy smile on her face.

Then Harry Potter had gotten his wand snapped by Bellatrix Lestrange, and Luna had winced.

Then Harry Potter got his head blown off in Dante’s Abyss, and Luna’s eyes snapped open.

She felt a great disturbance in the Force.

The Jedi witch uncrossed her legs, stood, and stretched. She idly brushed off some dust that had gathered on her otherwise immaculate white kimono fringed with bright blue. Held with blue silk on either hip was a wand; one willow, and the other pear. Her bare feet seemed to blow the leaves and twigs from her path with a gentle breeze as she started to walk into the thick bamboo.

“Hey Luna,” a sassy female voice called from behind her.

Luna stopped.

“Hullo, Hermione,” Luna replied in her high-pitched, dreamy voice.

The Jedi Witch turned to face the clearing.

Hermione Granger stood with her hand on her hip and a warm smile on her face. Her sandy blonde hair caught the breeze in strands, where Luna’s silky platinum hair drifted freely. She still wore her school uniform, though it seemed to Luna that it might be several years too small.

“Crazy seeing you here,” Hermione said in her prim English accent. “Where you headed?”

“To the Nexus fountain,” the Jedi responded through half-lidded eyes. “Harry is dead.”

Hermione shrugged.

“It wouldn’t be the first time,” Hermione said casually.

For a while, only the wind whistling through the trees could be heard.

The witches began to walk in slow, wide circles, their hands at their sides.

Luna would step left, and Hermione would step left, in an eerie unison.

“I think you’re not giving him enough credit,” Hermione said, a smirk creeping onto her face. “He is perfectly capable of finding his own way in Omniverse.”

The witches continued to circle each other, step by careful step.

“I’m just going to meet an old friend,” Luna replied, a little defensively perhaps.

Hermione laughed poshly. “Oh Luna,” she said, her hair falling in front of her face. In a heartbeat her wand was out and facing the ground, and a long red lightsaber blade emerged from the tip.

“You’ll be reunited soon enough.”
