CHARACTER NAME:
Lemmy Koopa
CHARACTER SOURCE:
Super Mario
CHARACTER HISTORY:
Born in the Mushroom Kingdom, Lemmy's true origin is still a mystery however he did end up in an orphanage with Larry Koopa who would become his future brother. While there, Larry was something of a friend that helped the Koopa out especially in the rough streets of Rougeport where Bandits and other baddies lurked around. It wasn't until one day, him and Larry had ran away out of town and came across others, traversing as a group. That was where he met Iggy, Roy, Ludwig, Wendy, Morton Jr. down the line and of course, Lemmy was shy at first but he had a big heart. It was by Iggy that the two actually became closest of friends, if not like brothers, and according to him, he began to accept that Iggy was his long lost brother and they were therefore like twins, separated from birth. The group of that would be called the Koopalings were born and it wasn't until they made trouble around town that Bowser and Kamek had found them, only to agree to take in the children and make them apart of the Koopa Kingdom as high status.
While in the Koopa Kingdom's time, Lemmy and the others got what they desired and Kamek became a mentor to the young Koopas, training them in their magical ability and other things. Lemmy's magic was at the most part, playful in nature, and he would be using his prowess to sort of play around at best. He wasn't as noted to be like his older brother Ludwig nor his younger siblings at the time. Of course, after being defeated multiple times by the Mario Brothers on the attempts to take over the Mushroom Kingdom, the small Koopa became serious and started to train himself, albeit at first if he wanted to train on his acrobatic skills and even start picking up interest in explosives, namely because of Iggy. It wasn't long before Lemmy would be given the title of "Clown Prince of Koopas" due to his clown-like, goofball nature. However, despite of this, in his younger years, he was bullied and picked on due to his tiny size and other things; the worst contenders were the delinquents of Rougeport in the before-time but sometimes, Roy mess around with the Koopa, along with Iggy, Larry and sometimes even Ludwig.
Ludwig would protect his siblings and would act something like a third parent to the younger siblings and that was before tensions grew with the Bowser Jr. ordeal. Lemmy didn't particularly see Bowser Jr. as anything bad but though Jr. did had his share of acting like a brat towards him before they truly got along together. Over the years, Lemmy's relationship grew with his siblings and with Iggy, he would do anything for them. To Iggy, Lemmy was the one that willingly undertook scientific tests with his stuff and albeit some were questionably dangerous, Lemmy was the perfect lab assistant to him. In the overall family, Lemmy was the optimist, a cheerful little koopa at best but hidden away in his smiles tells the tale of a Koopa that is internally suffering from sadness as well as anger, made worse to the fact that he had grown something of a crazed and menacing nature due towards Iggy's influence in those years.
However, during his time, no Koopa would ever imagine what Lemmy has been through especially in terms of participating in the famous Mario Kart tournament and even was brought in to the multiversal Super Smash Brothers tournament. Despite of his time being rough, he always had some format of adventure going for him at best and in a sense, it made his day that much better.
Eventually, it was one day, when Lemmy was performing on tricks for the next act for when he encounters the Mario Brothers again, a strange white light came out of nowhere and that was where he had mysteriously disappeared.
STATS:
ATK: 3
DEF: 2
SPD: 3
TEC: 2
STARTING PROFICIENCIES: Physical Strength (1000), Ranged Materialized (600), Ranged (1000)
STARTING POWERS: Super Jump (Basic) (300), Master Acrobat (400), Burst Movement (800)
STARTING MOVES:
Shell Spin (300) (requires Physical Strength/Ranged Proficiency): An instantaneously melee-based attack which Lemmy retreats into his tough and spiky Koopa shell. While inside, he has direct control of wherever direction he goes. The real threat is his speed combined with strength that would be essentially be enough to possibly knockback weaker targets, however the drawback is to the fact that Lemmy cannot exceed his over his SPD.
Fireball (300) (requires Ranged Procifiency): A precise aim projectile attack which is slower than the first attack as it takes a window to three to five seconds to deliver on in a medium sized fireball onto a target. Whenever distracted or unable to keep up, the Koopa won't be able to concentrate, easy for him to lose his flame or otherwise.

| Mimic, lowering its power for my character |

So, I know some restrictions can be flavor and don't really go against the rules. Like having a requirement that Schwi be hit by something before actually being able to Mimic it. But I was wondering if I could pose other restrictions and flavors to be more in-line with her canon
1) She needs to be hit by something to mimic it. This may get a little more fuzzy on enemy defensive moves (which I know she can mimic), and I know she its not a strict requirement, but taking a hit would let her mimic faster and is generally required for offensive moves.
2) Technology - Flavor wise, I was wondering how I might change the visual parts of moves. Namely Schwi would mimic things by basically improvising a new tool to implement the same function. Say for instance, Goku used Kamehameha, Schwi would mimic this by summoning a gun to do the same energy wave. Her copies would be obvious non-originals but perform the same as the original. Still the summoning of a gun had nothing to do with the move she copies.
3) Partial power Mimics. An especially powerful move or one that only hits a glancing blow might be copied but at a reduced power/effectiveness. This is a bit iffy since it would have room to copy some one highly draining move in a lesser form that is also less draining.

As Marisa walked into Camelot she looked around and looked completely confused. “Well at least it isn’t Makai.” She chuckled as she remembered the forced trip to makai Mima made her do.
At least she was pretty lenient towards the ordinary magician. She started to fly around the sky smiling as this was one of her favorite things that her training taught her. She soon was faced with another magician who challenged her to a duel. “How many spell cards?” She asked earnestly.
This made the mage confused as she dug up a bottle of ink, a feather, and the duel paper. “Well where i come from we fight with spell cards. Also we can’t kill each other even if we win. Though if you break the rules we get some leeway.” She spun her finger around as she smiled at the rules that kept the death rate at a extremely low number.
She sighed as they opened their spell book and a ball of fire erupted in there hand. “Look, i don’t want to end this quickly but i will . . .” She pulled out her mini-hakkero before stepping onto the ground.
As they sent out a torrent of flame she slid her left foot book back cupping her magicial furnace in both of her hands before yelling. “LOVE SIGN MASTER SPARK!” She thrusted both arms out before being pushed back from the knockback as the laser went to disintegrate the hapless secondary mage.
The damage was serious with the road being turned into a crater and the smell of magical residue was strong. She didn’t know who was around but she went to check the remnants of the magician. She took the satchel and the book that somehow survived the master spark.
She then got on her broom before she started to fly once again. Leaving the smouldering boots there she knew she would just have to keep from using spell card rules since it seems that nobody else knew about them or at the very least followed them.
She knew that she had been flying for about an hour but the sun bared down on her back she could feel the heat cook her alive she kind of regretted wearing her black outfit.
Soon she found herself near a village. It was dusk and she could see that the people were busy tending to others. She could see the villagers glaring at her. She looked confused before someone walked up to her. “We don’t want you here so scram! Ever since they came here they only brought trouble for us! Specially that you are a witch.”
Marisa sighed as she shook her head before walking away. “I did absolutely nothing to agitate them and something else did.” She started to walk into the forest using the mini-hakkero as a light.
Soon her fear was eating at her with shadows looming at her. She also noted that sleep was wrestling her body for control. She knew she had to push on through the thick wood because she didn’t know what lived there.
She groggily reached a shrine went up to the entrance and opened it before slumping down at the dinner table and went to sleep.

Is it possible to transfer OM through the dataverse?
Reason I ask is because Dawn completed a couple of my faction quests and I wish to pay her. Problem being that we haven't had a good chance to convene face-to-face. So can I wire her the money over the dataverse?

Death was a new and exciting experience for the demon Kuzuru. He had always enjoyed a sort of pseudo-immortality. For as long as humans fought and slaughtered one another he would draw breath. He was the ugly hate that mankind would bring upon itself. Even being confined within the prison of the Ouroboros blade only meant a difference in quality of life rather than a death sentence. Those vessels that wielded the blade and borrowed his demonic powers served as his temporary bodies. Despite his autonomy being limited to what he could forcibly wrench from these meatbags he was content with having front row seats to his favorite show on earth. But the Omniverse changed that. For the first time in an almost inconceivably long time Kuzuru felt he had a body he could truly call his own. Though it was nothing more than a palimpsest of Renji Kiyomasa’s visage it was something that the demon had come to cherish. And he cherished his mortal coil by destroying it in the most exhilarating of ways.
It was a profound experience, he discovered, to be completely incinerated in an explosion. It happens fast enough that you don’t even register pain, just a vague sense of heat and pressure followed by nothing. Well, it would have been nothing if he were anywhere except for the Omniverse.
Kuzuru opened his eyes and found himself in familiar territory. The soft embrace of his leather chair wrapped around his body and provided a comforting sensation. Forming a “U” shape around him stood a desk, covered in dusty paperwork and neglected office supplies and trinkets. Paintings depicting ancient and grand battles hung on the walls. A grandfather clock, constructed from wood stained a deep red, sat in the corner. It stood as the silent guardian of his office, its dulcet tones occasionally echoing throughout the prison of souls. Indeed nothing seemed out of place or agitated since he had left. Nothing out of the ordinary asides from an hourglass sitting on the corner of his desk. Inside the glass trickled a steady stream of rainbow colored sand. The demon raised an eyebrow and reached for the object, only to discover that his hand phased through it as if it did not exist.
“Neat,” the demon quipped.
He leaned back and kicked his feet up. If what he had read on the Dataverse was true he’d be back up and kicking in a few days times. R&R, he figured, would do him a bit of good. After all getting exploded was quite an exhausting experience. So the demon closed his eyes and took a nap. More accurately, he tried to take a nap. No matter how hard he tried to doze off he simply couldn’t. And it wasn’t because he wasn’t sleepy, rather it was an innate function of this place. After all how could a dead man sleep?
For a while he simply sat reclined in his chair. A slight smirk had found a home upon his face as he reminisced the sequence of events that led to his demise. What a glorious end! These thoughts sustained the demon for quite some time, but as he turned over every facet of his excursion he grew increasingly bored. Eventually the lack of stimulus forced him from his seat and up into the center of the room. He paced from end to end, glancing at the hourglass from time-to-time. The iridescent sands moved as if they were cold molasses. The demon reached across his desk and grabbed an old-styled intercom microphone. He pressed a button at its base and spoke.
“Renji Kiyomasa, please report to the warden’s office, thank you.”
Satisfied he took a seat at his desk and watched the door intently. After a few seconds of silence a rumbling echoed throughout the prison. The door creaked open revealed an impossibly long corridor that looked like the throat of a strep patient. Covering the tunnel’s walls were wriggling red tendrils. Kuzuru smirked. Hurtling towards him at breakneck speeds was a vaguely humanoid shape. The figure was being carried along by the tendrils, their ropey bodies wrapping around his limbs long enough to pull him to the next set of tendrils. It only took a few moments for him to cover an unfathomable distance. Without fanfare Renji Kiyomasa was vomited onto the floor of Kuzuru’s office and the door slammed behind him.
“Renji-boy!” Kuzuru cheered and clapped his hands together, “thank you for coming, you’re looking absolutely sanguine today.”
Renji collected himself and climbed to his feet, “what do you want?”
“Oooh, so spiteful,” Kuzuru tittered.
“Bite me,” Renji answered, turning his gaze towards the ground.
Kuzuru smiled and stood. In this realm of his he was able to manifest his true form. He stood several heads taller than the average man and his body was riddled with lean and sinewy muscle. His frame was reminiscent of a human, if that human’s limbs had been stretched to aberrant proportions. Burgundy skin covered his body, it was as rough as sharkskin. Two gaunt arms extended from his shoulders, each of them splitting at the elbow and extending into two sets of forearms. Narrow needle-like claws protruded from each fingertip and a row of razor fangs lined his maw. A row of horns started from his forehead and trailed down his spine, eventually ceasing at the tip of his ropey tail. An almost imperceptible aura of maliciousness surrounded him, subconsciously infecting those around him like a poison.
“Come now Renji-boy don’t be like that,” he said. The demon snapped his fingers and the ground in front of his desk rippled like a pool. From this pool materialized a red leather chair. Kuzuru beckoned towards Renji, “come, sit, it feels like ages since we’ve been able to have a chat.”
“You stole my body,” Renji said.
Kuzuru sighed, “who would’ve known you’d actually grow a spine in here, please just sit down.”
“No,” Renji answered.
There was a moment of silence before the coming storm.
”I SAID SIT!” Kuzuru shouted, his voice becoming impossibly loud.
Red tendrils erupted from the chair and wrapped themselves around Renji’s wrists. In one violent motion he was wrenched into the air and pulled onto the chair. Thick vine-like restraints kept him locked in place and he knew better than to struggle.
“Good,” Kuzuru said, taking a seat himself, “thank you, now get comfortable you wouldn’t believe the past few weeks.”
And so the demon told Renji everything. He spoke of his flight into The Ashen Steppes. Kuzuru’s eyes were alight with excitement as he recalled the Coyotle’s and their prodigal warrior Cinder Salt. He spoke of Charles and Mallory as “effective knuckleheads” taking his time to recall every detail of his fight against them. After that he covered The Ashen Blades, eventually leading into their hunt for Ballad.
“Oh what a fight he said,” he said and snapped his fingers.
A flat screen television materialized itself and began to playback Kuzuru’s fight with Ballad from the demon’s perspective. Every now and again he’d replay a particularly violent spot and get as excited as a kid in a candy shop. Once the fight and subsequent execution was over Kuzuru sighed contently.
“Shame you couldn’t have been there Renji-boy,” he said, “you would’ve had fun.”
Renji said nothing.
“Come on, don’t be so sour, this was just the tip of the iceberg, we haven’t even gotten to the really good part yet.”
From there he launched into his dream with Luci and the Sage. He spoke of the painted girl with a saccharine fondness and spoke well of the Sage’s combat prowess. The ultraviolent town that served as Haunter’s playground and Jacket’s nightmare brought out a longing in Kuzuru the same way a tourist would long to return to Honolulu. He grew increasingly animated as he regaled Renji of Haunter’s demise, eventually pantomiming the final blow.
“That painted girl is a treat though,” he said, “you know she actually got away from me? She was only a few feet from me and she managed to escape, isn’t that crazy?”
Kuzuru didn’t care that Renji had nothing to say, he was just glad to have an audience. Without a break he started retelling his “magnum opus”. He told Renji of the darkchips and Nebula. He spoke of his fight with Morene and Ebony, eventually pulling it up on the flatscreen.
“Check this out, she just tanks my spear and keeps going,” Kuzuru said, replaying the moment that Morene was skewered over and over, “I think I’m in love Renji, this chick can take a beating, it gets better, she takes another one of these and keeps on trucking, but I’m getting ahead of myself.”
This went on for hours, days, weeks; time meant nothing here. Eventually his stories were exhausted and he fell back into his chair basking in a twisted afterglow.
“So?” he prompted Renji.
“So what?”
Kuzuru sat up in his chair, “so, what do you think?! Pretty fucking awesome right?!”
“You’re a psychopath,” Renji muttered.
“Oh come off it, you’re just butthurt that I took your body out for a joyride,” Kuzuru said, “look this place, this Omniverse is designed for shit like this, it’s one big free-for-all and I, for one, have no interest in being a bleeding heart pussy, Omni gave us this wonderful gift of immortality we might as well use it.”

| How Effective is DEF? |

I've been unable to read much of what goes on in the OV, but I have been keeping track of the Coruscant threads, at least, and a couple of them in particular got me thinking about DEF. Gunther Stein was shot a bunch of times and ended up with quite a lot of gunshot wounds, even if they were mostly shallow. He has 5 DEF.
On the other hand, Harlan Higgs (3 DEF), was supposed to be tortured with a scalpel, but then it broke without even scratching him as soon as the ork holding it tried to cut him. According to Omniphysics (as I understand it, at least) moves are supposed to be more powerful the more drawbacks they have, and scalpels are considerably shorter range and slower than bullets... so in theory, they should be more harmful... at least, if the characters wielding them have equal ATK.
Prior to reading these two accounts the only information I'd seen on DEF was in the Rules, where it says:
Quote:3: Astoundingly resilient, the kind of person who would make doctors marvel.
4: Inhumanly resilient, as though wearing armor all over.
5: Mega resilient, most-calibur bullets will not break skin with just one bullet.
So going by that info there, both Gunther & Harlan are clearly correct: I dunno about you, but I'd sure marvel if I were a doctor and I met a patient who was immune to scalpels, and Gunther was definitely hit by a whole lot of bullets, so if we assume that 5 DEF is nothing more than bullet-resistant skin then it's not surprising that he'd be injured quite badly.
From my point of view I'd say I'm probably closer to thinking of it Harlan's way (I briefly mentioned one of my NPCs as being barely affected by lasers when she had 4 DEF). The way I'd interpreted it before reading Gunther's post was that 5 DEF meant being basically unkillable by normal guns. My reasoning was that to a normal human (2 or less DEF) small thorns, pins, or even a sheet of paper could all 'break skin'... whereas a person with 5 DEF would require multiple bullets for the same effect. By my logic trying to kill someone like that with RL-strength guns (3-5 ATK) would be like trying to kill a normal person by throwing paper aeroplanes at them and hoping to give them enough tiny cuts that they'd somehow bleed to death from it.
Clearly, though, that's not the direction Gunther went with it. So now, on the actual point of this thread:
I was hoping that other people who've written about characters with abnormally high DEF (above 2) would tell me how powerful they portrayed the stat as being in their posts?
And maybe even post a link to one if you're able, so I can read through it if I get time?
Thanks! :fullderp:

The vigilante shook of the lightheadedness that came with crossing the various gates around the Nexus and ‘verses. Never a pleasant feeling, seeing the Nexus’s blank whiteness but by now she had become acquainted with it enough to know where her destination was without having look. Luckily with her speed she was able to make it to the western gate of Coruscant within an hours time, where the scene had seemed to be cleaned up. The assaulted stormtroopers were being replaced by their next rounds and those new guards were talking to witnesses. She abruptly butts in.
“I need information on the person who assaulted these guards.” She says to one of the witnesses. The trooper pushes her off though.
“Move along, we have this handled.” He says to the Prime.
“Judging from the 10 or so guards that were on their backs I assume not.” She bites back. “I'm a Prime, now I want that bounty and someone is going to give me information.”
“Fine, talk with the Commander and he’ll probably help you out.”
Dawn wastes no time in find the commander after the stormtrooper points him out with his finger.
“Hey, Dawnika Snow, bounty hunter and Prime. I need information on Rogue.” She says plainly.
“And, why should I help a Prime who’s not aligned with the Empire?” The commander says.
“Because I doubt you want two angry Primes running around Coruscant causing trouble.” She chuckles. “Let’s save ourselves some trouble.”
The trooper eyeballs her as if she doesn't know what Coruscant is like, but he’s already got too much to deal with.
“Alright, their name is ‘Rogue’. All we really know about them is that they can change their appearance into anything willingly. He was even able to copy voice and is probably still in that disguise.”
“Thank you.” She says leaving him and entering the Coruscant gate.

The inside of the city that Gaster had arrived in was bustling past the forest landscape that he had journeyed with Chara and Flowey through the Tangled Green. In general, the journey had no ambushes but the last moments on it did involved being stopped by the Ambrosian scout and later guards before entry.
How everything came together in not even a day in this strange world, it was satisfying that he was feeling the freedom to go onto places unknown beyond the home reality. To live a live of his own chapter, he couldn't help but to smile at the thought. Now all he needs to do is to reunite with Sans as the murmurs have it around the city as Gaster passed by the crowds of strange creatures from places unknown along with the occasional mix of Humans.
The populace all seemed peaceful. However, the Princess is one additional thing on his mind on top of the Ashen Steppes and the existence of this so called Koopa Kingdom. Never in all his time had he would encounter additional powers besides King Asgore of the Underground and the Humans of the Surface up until now at best.
With his arms wrapped behind his back as he walked in silence, the sun in the sky was reaching the twilight stages as it is now crossing the western horizion and the golden rays of sunlight was seeping through the trees making for a calm aria for him. In fact, the streets were not as rush happy; however, for some reason, he can't helped but to be reminded of New Home, the Capital of the Underground.
Yes, it was extremely specific in it's name but that was because Asgore wasn't exactly good at naming things out tier. In fact, the original city that was the Ruins was Home before the mass exodus of monsterkind coming in from the Surface as the Humans had banished them, sealing the survivors away under a Barrier. The Barrier of the Seven Human Mages, a barrier that time and time, Gaster tried to crack open with his scientific means.
Just remembering it all was starting to give Gaster a headache. A headache that was merely induced by remembering and stress.
Maybe he should get someplace to rest and in the peace of the surrounding forest. Could there possibly be such a place around here? Perhaps but that would require some assistance from the locals, whom much unknown to him, decided to approach out of curiosity as he seemed to had stopped for some odd reason. People were watching him, well, they had been since he had been there for sometime. It would seem that he got distracted..
"Excuse me, kupo?" asked a voice, causing Gaster to perk up and looked down at the unfamiliar creature. He knows that this wasn't a monster of the Underground as they had small purple bat wings, white fur-like body, along with cat-like ears, red nose, closed eyes and a pom-pom hanging out from their head. In fact, what a tiny little creature they were. "Yes, what is it?"
"Are you lost? You seem to be a newcomer here, kupo." replied the other. "In fact, you look like one of the skeletons..we don't see alot of skeletons around. Well, maybe one, I heard his name is Sans. Guy's a big fan of ketchup last I saw; he drinks the stuff constantly and somehow gets drunk off of it, kupo."
Typical Sans behavior, that's for sure. Mentally, Gaster rolled his eyes before he questioned,"What about Sans?"
"Well, you look like you're related to him.. and I know it sudden but what's your name, kupo?" asked the creature before Gaster lifted his head up and brought his arm forward placing it on front as he answered,"My name is W.D. Gaster and I am merely his mentor. If anything, I was the Royal Scientist of the Underground and helped out improve living circumstances among other things, namely with the creation of the CORE."
The Moogle's eyes widen as he perked up in surprise. "Mentor? Royal Scientist? Wow! That's a big title, but..was? What, did something happened before? I mean, with a title that wellknown, other Moogles would admire you. After all, we are known to go into the scientific stuff and I known some very intelligent Moogles, kupo!"
Gaster could feel those haunting memories flooding back but denied it before he sighed, lowering his arm and folding it behind his back. "It's nothing to be concerned about. By the way, what is your name and if I may inquire, what exactly are you?"
The Moogle nodded. "I'm Moogie the Moogle. Well, one of many around here; we live under harmony with our Princess. To be honest, we're not from around here and are travelers if not denizens from other areas around the Omniverse. In fact, you may notice that the varied creatures and people, there's little creatures called Pokemon, ponies and other things that make up the population. As of late, we have been seeing monsters around but the good thing that atleast you aren't one of those forest orcs or other guys lurking for trouble, kupo."
"Interesting." mumbled Gaster as he looked down to Moogie. "How about the Princess here? Do you have information about her?"
Moogie nodded. "Well, yeah! Everyone knows Princess Guu! She established Ambrosia a long time ago and we have been living around here since. Though, she is only ten years old and a little strange but.." He points to Pokute Palace up ahead. " ..in the middle of town, there's Pokute Palace. She lives there but ever since her absence, the city has been heavily guarded then. That's why there's a lot of guard presence."
Great, a literal ten year old little girl that is the ruler of the city. He's going have to cooperate with the likes of a little child and in his words, this is completely asinine. Atleast when he worked with Asgore, he respected him...but this? This child is their ruler? He could already feel the headache worsening. However, if she is ever going to gain respect from him, she will have to prove her worth straight down to the line. No child's play!
Before long, he continued,"If you would like, I can give you a tour around the city. It's the least I can do to help. Maybe act as navigation? Atleast something to get you to be familiar, but wow! I'm never going to forget this day ever because I want to know more, kupo."
Well, seems like he had already gained an admirer but maybe, being around the Moogles might give him a chance to learn more about their race. It was always interesting to learn more about the cultures and the world that surrounds them. The less he knew of the child ruler, the better.
"Very well, lead the way." Gaster answered before Moogie nodded and lead the way for he to get to know the city.
