[NPC] The humdrum life of a castle guard (Mature)

Her trained ears perked up at a sudden call for help just across the road from her home , she peered from the window to see what was going on . Four men had a young woman surrounded , pulling on her hand and insisting she join them for some fun . Mina would not permit such a vulgar thing , especially not when she was close enough to deal with it herself . Stopping the water , she only had time to put on a bath towel . Rushing from her home with a closed fist , flattening one of the men with a stone like gaze at the other three . 

" Any one else think it wise to harass the nice lady ? "

The other three did not flee though , making remarks on her state of undress . Even having the nerve to suggest trying to take her instead , she rolled her eyes at the thought .

The trio attacked her all at the same time , her trained body skillfully evading such pitiful attempts to do harm . She Knocked the second out with an elbow , the third fell to a knee to his stomach . The last one got quite a show , albeit it was unintentional . His attempt to strike her was evaded easily , her hand wrapped in his hair . Her left knee meeting with his face , giving him a nice look at what was under the towel . He would not remember the sight though , his nose broken from the hit .

With that she tied the lot of them up , passing them along to the city guard . Speaking as a witness to the incident , all while still wearing just the linen that barely covered her . Showing no sign of shame whatsoever , once the matter was settled she returned to the woman who had been in peril .

The poor girl was shaken up but nothing else seemed the matter . She returned to her home to get dressed before walking the woman to her home , listening to the story she was telling .

Mina spent the next two nights rather upset about the ongoings , it seemed as if the whole world had gone upside down . Perhaps it was simply her , but she felt as if things were simply too quiet . Two nights of guard duty without incident , the whole thing struck her as quite queer indeed . Her eyes slowly scanning the hall she casually walked down , keeping them peeled for any strange doings . 

Once again the maid and her favored knight were having a late night meeting , nothing she had not seen before . She had little doubt she would see it again , she could not help but notice the feisty blonde girl of service had a nice set of ... 

EYES .. decidedly her eyes were her nicest feature , Mina violently shook her thought away . Going right back to her patrol without another thought on the matter . She let out an eep when she lost her footing , slipping on the freshly cleaned floors . The shriek was rather cute really , but she was thankful no one had noticed such a thing . 

Her closeness to the floor was a boon in and of itself though as she could hear chatter she would not have before , coming from the floor below them . Rumor had it that a beauty from a far away land was coming to preform soon , though there was a bit of a snag . The way this sounded it was a non human , something that may very well go sour in a hurry . 

Mina silently wondered if the princess would simply refuse the performer , and send her along her way to a different land .

Mina shook off the rumors that were swirling abound and continued her work , her dataverse device letting her know they would match her up again soon . She would be informed later , her eyes going back to scanning the halls . Using the device to light one of the more poorly lit hallways , catching something in her skilled gaze . Something that should not be in the castle moving through the shadows , she soon found out it was merely a mouse .

Mina's heart skipped a beat when she read her latest message , that simply could not be right . Had fate decided it was time for her to be tested in such a way ? 


What would she wear ?

What would they possibly do on a date ?

Would the princess even accept it ?

After kick starting her heart again she quickly mentally planned and even scheduled a day off in advance , her hands shaking so hard she feared she might drop her dataverse device . She took a few deep breaths waiting to see how the princess might react to finding out just who she got paired up with.

" she did ask for someone who would show up "

Her body seemed to refuse to follow even simple commands , her shift on guard duty had just ended for the night too . She had all the time in the world to plan what she might do , her mind wandering slightly . She knew right away which one of her outfits to wear if the princess accepted , the one she had in mind would make the whole kingdom jealous for sure .

She blushed swatting the thought cloud of that reaction away , her mind in the gutter for a few moments . Once she reached her home she put quill to parchment , planning out exactly what she would do in this instance . Having an entire day planned out in just a few short moments , she paused just then . Wondering if she had thought this over one too many times .

She refocused now her gaze moving to the clothing she was thinking of debuting , she faltered just then.

" I wonder if she will even accept the date ? "

" Why ? why am I shaking so hard ? "

" I mean I see her all the time , I am one of her guards even . Why will my hands not cease quivering and be still ? "
