Sabrina's machine slowed to human running speeds as she approached the gate and the people there, not wanting to provoke them into firing what was obviously weapons they were wielding. Guns, probably, but she had never seen any of that sort. Maybe some sort of technological advancement? Well, this was a different world, she was prepared to see just about anything. But, better not take her chances. She came to a stop at a good distance, removed the helmet and biker goggles and put them on the seat, then walked the remainder of the way towards the armored men. Now she could see them in greater detail: they were wearing face-obscuring helmets and masks, covered in armor... was that Plastek? Ceramite maybe? It didn't look like iron. And yes, those things in their hands were most definitely guns.
"Halt. This is the Coruscant Gate. Please identify yourself before you pass." one of the faceless soldiers spoke as Sabrina came close. Even their voice was distorted by some vox system integrated into their helmets. They really did value anonymousness, huh... But notably, they were not raising their guns. Holding them ready to raise them, yes, but not aiming them anywhere but the ground. Were they afraid of her? She smiled amusedly. They had reason to be... but, this was not the time for confrontations.
"I'm Sabrina. I'm freshly arrived, so I'm... a Prime, I believe?" She held her hands out to show she was unarmed. "I mean no harm. I've just noticed that there are people here and I wanted to ask if you could help me."
"It depends." The speaker's voice, even through distorted, was visibly relaxed though they were on their guard. Sabrina slowly lowered her hands again and held them before herself, with her left hand holding her right wrist, still in plain sight so that the Stormtroopers could feel more reassured that she wasn't going to pull a gun or other weapon. She might not have been a paragon on that subject, but she knew how law-enforcers ticked. She had, after all, gotten out of hairy situations with Officier Jennys numerous times without issue. So, she just did the routine. Put on her innocent, friendly, clueless and above all unthreatening face, act unthreatening and make them feel safe.
"You mentioned Coruscant... is that a country? And what are those big things like the one you are guarding? Gates, you said?" She was fairly certain that those "big things" were some form of gate, maybe rifts or portals. But, it couldn't hurt to play dumb.
"Coruscant is the verse-city located behind the portal we are guarding. It is home to the Empire, the one true faction of the Omniverse. There are other groups, they are rebels and petty outlaws who oppose our reign. Our leader is the God-Emperor Palpatine, the greatest of all Primes." So in short, the Empire was a totalitarian regime led by a Prime... interesting. Sabrina remained silent though as the Stormtrooper continued his explanation. "The portals you have seen are gates, yes. There are eight of them, each leading to a different part of the Omniverse. If you wish to do further research on that subject you can enter Coruscant and obtain more information in our extensive library."
Sabrina hmmed. Time to do some boot-licking to get more info... "I just might! The Empire does sound like the nation I would want to be in - I don't like swimming against the current. What about you, if I may ask? Are you Primes as well?"
"No. We are Secondaries. We were summoned by the God-Emperor himself to execute His will, and are His loyal servants."
"So... a Prime is able to summon Secondaries? I see... but, if the God-Emperor summoned you, you must be very powerful too!" So that's why this Murasaki guy, the one accompaigning Amber, hadn't fought. He was a secondary, summoned by Amber, he was weaker than Amber herself. She could almost taste the dirt on her tongue from the amount of bootlicking. Of course these idiots were pushovers. Cannon fodder. Grunts. Mass-produced replacable mooks. But it was working out... the trooper was shifting on his feet and she could almost see his flattered smile behind the face-obscuring helmet.
"We are pretty strong, yes. We have to guard this gate from invaders after all."
"Hehe... true. I wouldn't want to get in a fight with one of you." There would be no fight, she'd rip them limb from limb before they could even raise their weapons. But no... she held herself back. She wanted to make friends, not spill blood. Onto the more serious questions. "But, uh. I had another question. Would you happen to know anything about beings called Pokemon? They're animal-likes with..."
The stormtrooper interrupted her. "We know what a Pokemon is. There are two factions here in the Omniverse, both rebels. The Liberation Front is the one you should be most wary of, they hate humans and launch attacks and raids at various imperial establishments, as well as other factions. The other group is the Cinnibar Island outcasts, they live in the Vasty Deep verse somewhere out in the seas. The God-Emperor has made numerous offers to place them under His protective wing, but they cling to their rebel existence."
"So... they are both enemies of the Empire." She hmm-ed to herself. Could this be a way to get her hands on some powerful Pokemon and be celebrated as a hero for it too? Unless other elite trainers or Gym Leaders existed in the Omniverse her vast knowledge of the Pokemon World, Pokemon battles and their strategy would give her a crucial advantage. But what she found interesting was that there were factions composed of Pokemon. Maybe they were led by some potent Prime? Pokemon by themselves were animalistic and lacked the intelligence to do something like this autonomously. She would need to investigate. "Well... I was a fairly decent tamer of Pokemon in the world I come from. If I may be so bold, I could offer my assistance to the imperial forces battling these rebels?"
The Stormtrooper examined her for a bit. "Any Prime helping us is greatly appreciated, though I cannot make such a judgement myself. You would have to speak to Judge Dredd in Coruscant, or another person of importance."
"Do you know who the respective leaders of those rebel factions are? I may have heard of them at home."
"The Liberation Front leader was reported to look similar to the Koopas from the Ashen Steppes - a blue-skinned bipedal being with a turtle shell. He calls himself Wartortle but it may be an alias. The Cinnibar leader is a humanoid with purple skin and a long tail that uses psychic powers and is called Mewtwo."
Sabrina held back a gasp at the mention of that last name. Mewtwo?! It couldn't be... the most powerful psychic Pokemon in existence was here? If she could get her hands on it... "Is this Wartortle bigger than a human? And does it have cannons protruding from its shoulders?"
"No. It's smaller than a human and has no cannons as far as we are aware."
"Okay... well, this is very helpful - both are names of their species, thus I know what they are. I could definitely provide the Empire with some assistance." She smiled happily, masking the mishievous grin that she was sporting mentally. Things were falling into place perfectly. "I would in that case head to the Vasty Deep and confirm my suspicions on my own account, before I formally help the Empire. Can you point me the way?"
"It's the gate next to ours that looks like two crossing palm trees." The Stormtrooper pointed it out. "You will come out in Costa del Sol, an outpost of the Empire. After that you're on your own."
"Of course. I sincerely thank you for all your information, you have been of great help!" She turned around and returned to her bike, hopped on and took it over to the gate which was conveniantly close-by. Without hesitation, she drove through, disappearing from the Nexus.
