Got my car back from the body shop. Quarter panel looks brand new. I haven't had the car since last Monday. Of course now my passenger window does this:

Just...*sigh*

At least you have a car. It's been 3.5 weeks now and my insurance still hasn't decided what to do with my car AND won't credit me for the month I haven't had my car.

Yeah it would have probably been ok without the pointless CAI. The car came with it and it doesn't do shit for me except make the intake louder and its ability to drink water more effective, apparently.
Hell, it probably has less horsepower with it than it would have had w/ the stock intake. Completely worthless.

I replaced my stock with a Perrin CAI and the stock Catback with an Invidia one. Car sounds really nice now.

Yeah. Some cars it's an upgrade.
Mine, Nissan's tuned the intake so goddamn well that a CAI will always be a downgrade unless you couple it with a tune and supporting mods.
I hope the car gets fixed because I've been saving for a supercharger.

Nice!
I'd prefer to go the turbo route but a decent turbo setup would cost me about $20k. $10k for the kit/parts and $10k to build the bottom end so it doesn't grenade the first time the turbos spool.
Supercharger setup w/ parts will run me about $6k new and won't make enough power to blow the engine up in stock form.

Yeah for you a turbo probably makes sense; you're rocking a 2.0 right?
My cap is ~400 whp but it's a 3.5 and it's both the transmission and the bottom end that can't really be pushed beyond that w/o putting money into it.

YEEEAAAAH!
Got a call today. They approved an engine Nissan sourced for me. It's got half the mileage of my current (dead) one. I'm told best-case I'll take delivery of my car w/ a non-Flintstone powered engine on Friday next week.

Sold the Trans Am many many many moons ago. Just couldn't grow a mullet spectacular enough, y'know?
Nah, I got into a really bad wreck doing illegal things I shouldn't have. Fixed it and sold it & bought a Cruze Eco thinking it would keep me out of trouble. In fact, it just made me depressed - the car has all the makings of a spectacular car but so many little problems that I'd not recommend one to anybody. Drove that for a few years before someone blew a stopsign and both our cars were totalled in the resulting crash.
I decided "fuck boring cars" and found a minty 35th anniversary 350z and picked that up.
Definitely doesn't have the straight-line grunt the TA had (a 363 whp 5.7L'll do that for ya), but it's way more fun to drive/much nicer to live in, and an absolute beast around bends. I've been racing a lot this summer (legitimately - like, on a track). Hope to keep it a long time. They're already selling for $10k more than what I purchased mine for, so I'm glad the insurance company's willing to fix it.
