The EventVerse
#21
Omni Wrote:I like the basic concept but I already basically think that most of our big "events" are based on this idea. And based on past experience, saying you can run one once a month is crazy talk. For one, people don't post that fast and once they get going they really get into a story and it'll end up taking two or three months if you're lucky.

In short, I like the idea of members running their own little events like this and even ones that take place in new "events verses" but people need to be in it for the long haul and for that reason I tend to restrict it to members who have been around for a while.

I already have several storyline concepts based around this idea. No time to run them now though.

Alright, yeah the monthly thing was kind of a stretch but I suppose a three month event would be fine. Oh, and Omni I disagree with you on the point that this is really similar to the events that take place already. No one else seemed to think so, this is my idea so please don't act like you already have something that's the same or similar. That kind of stuff really offends me. I'm here to be in it for the long haul, bias based on how long someone has been around is a major flaw. I don't stop sticking around a place unless the people are rude or bullies or such, I stay to see all my projects finished. It's really important to me that this is seen through, so please consider taking up the opinions of the others who have posted in this thread and WANT my original idea to become a reality. The community has spoken, thank you ^_^

Sorry if you think that's a major flaw, but we have people that drop into the site and then drop out all the time. Every RP does, that's the nature of these sites! It wasn't a personal judgement, but rather one I make based on years of running these kind of sites.
Curious about me and the characters I play? See the 'Staff' page! See also the rosters for my characters Samus Aran or Enel if you'd like to see examples of well-formatted rosters. Hope you enjoy the Omniverse!

No one ever said that it would take people away from their storyline, and I'll wait for an admin to decide whether or not it can be canon. I apologize but I don't see the difference between it being canon and it being non-canon, everything would happen exactly the same. And yes, I know it will have to be approved each event. That's the point of convening with staff >_>

You do know that the Omniverse is Frozen Time? No one could participate in Canon by our rules unless they were taken away from their personal story lines. You could have it be Non-Canon and then people would be able to participate in it without leaving their story lines.

Also Canon would be that it actually took place in the Omniverse- See the Dante's Abyss Thread
or Non-Canon which would be for fun and NOT really happen in the Omniverse- See the Beach Party Thread

But they do. You're crazy to think your idea is super fresh and/or unique. It's a nice idea - a good idea - but it isn't original.

Take note that, in a community, it's nice for fresh people to be actively suggesting things. Just don't get carried away with the idea. It's not easy to implement something centered around a person who is untested yet. Maybe chill or something? Omni's just doing his part.

*lets out a low growl and cracks a beer(Budlight)*

I've wrote on a site with Omni and Prot man, for quite a few years. I joined this site and accidentally caused trouble. A LOT.

I've been in trouble a lot by Omni... Not for trolling really... Well kinda... But not all the time and most was accidental..

But I am going to say this right now, you are stupid as hell to speak for the community. I haven't said a damned word about this. Neither have quite a few people.

You don't disrespect these people. You don't. You ask for permission. Like I learned to do. When the guy that owns the server says no, you try to reach a compromise.

I am REALLY good at ideas. Ask anyone. I don't purposely break the rules. I have personally butted heads with Omni on accident...But I respect and will always respect him.I Have Respect for Proto and Guu as well... I have respect for all Staff members.

Usually>_>

You feel like you have been smacked down? Get over it. It happens. No one is going to join an event unless you have established it and well... Got Staff approval itself. Staff told you NO. Prove yourself as an active writer. Ask another Staffer for Ideas...

BUT DO NOT BITCH AND MOAN AT THEIR JUDGEMENT.

Trust me... It isnt good

PS: Don't defend me and who I am ever again like we are friends. Do it again and I will show you what a TROLL really is. What someone thinks about me is one thing. But I wont have someone defending my name and making me look as if I was offended. EVER

I refuse to lose this battle,
Let whatever come my way.
I am stronger then my rival,
No, I will not fall today...

I appreciate the defense guys, but let's try not to escalate. XD

Sometimes I say stuff and it's taken more bluntly than I intend, because I don't have the time to check the tone of everything I write here and I think that's what happened with my earlier post.

Oh and just for 100% clarity, if this is a non-canon thing I really don't care. And I'm not putting a hard limit on anyone running these things, but I do think if this is your first time running a gig and you're very new to the RPG, it's probably better to get a few months under your belt first. Certainly in a mod capacity we wouldn't facilitate anything world changing such as opening up new verses if you're brand-new.

Best example is Flash running the Darkseid event. Which is just a strong prime turning up and being the precursor to a large storyline. We okayed that, but we said that we would stay hands-off and see how it went, if it merited it we might step in with rewards such as an artefact.

... And Flash disappeared somewhere about halfway into June <.<

I suggest you calm down and take posts like these to PMs instead of... This public thing that I am choosing to call a thing because the other word isn't nice. I would also suggest you don't post these thinga while drunk or under the influence of something (whether it be stress or deigs) like I do because I promise you if I wasn't controlling myself these would not be suggestions. Lastly I would like to apologize for crossing that sacred boundrynof respect, I won't give an excuse but know until now I felt completely justified. Thank you for stating your opinion and goving a suggestion, I will take them into consideration in similar future questions.

On a further note I would also like to soncerely ask for yor forgiveness.

PS: I apologize if I seem rude in this but be aware this is me trying to be nice, my first instinct was to type two thousand plus mean words >_> I didn't. If it seems cold, it is, I don't know how to peocess this kind of feedback because of several personal... Quirks so I'm just trying to calculate it through my brain. I really do hope you forgive me, though, that's an important thing to me... In fact forgiveness is the reason I have most of my relationships IRL, basically I gripe at people until they say they forgive me and then they want more(not really but if you don't forgive me and say "maybe later" I'll ask every day, likely as soon as I see you). Uhm, sorry for the small rant, I'm hyper, out of wack with my meds and stuff, so please... Just please forgive me Retane.

Additionally I'd like to apologize to anyone and everyone I offended, especially Omni. I'm quixotic, meaning I'm overly idealistic and at times unrealistic with my explanations.

And yes I know that if I ended the upper portion of this with a corporate tagline I'md sound like all those email replies from major corporations... Freaking robots

I understand and I'm sorry for the double post, but I offended you and you and Retane will be getting PM's shortly. The message above sounded forced, like someone pressing hot plastic into a mold.
