An Angel Among the Wind (Open)

Victor was impressed by how fast the Flash could move , at least his name was about how he moved in a flash, and not the other type of flashing, he doubted that the girl next to him could handle such a level of exposure. However the Flash was not the only one who could move fast, over long distances the Flash would undoubtedly win in a race as it appeared that to reach his top speed he needed to get some momentum, this was the opposite of Wolfe, who thanks to his quick burst of movement was always able to move at top speed from the get go, it was like comparing a marathon runner to a 100 meter sprinter.

" I am no slouch either Flash, I am pretty sure I can keep up with whatever these guys have to throw at us, besides I have my own special set of skills too. you see I have been trained for years in the arts on how to deal with people that cause problems for my...friends, and one of those skills is precision control of my speed" Victor said with a grin.

As if to emphasise his point Victor ran around Flash using his burst movement to circle him faster than Flash had done to him , He had to stop pretty quickly though, or risk exhaustion under the roasting desert sun. Victor patted Flash on the back. " It is nice to meet a fellow speedster, your name fits pretty well"

Victor turned to the girl still trying to contain her blushing and decided to have a bit more fun, he walked over and grabbed one of her hands and whilst looking her directly in the eyes said " I am really glad that you trust me, the first person I met in this land spoke nonsense and when I would not believe him assaulted me, it is so nice to see a very friendly and pretty face for once , I hope we become good friends with many great memories, perhaps even more one day..." Victor kept eye contact and as he seductively let his sentence fade off let go of the girls hand as her face turned back to beet red.

He turned back to the Flash " so we head East now to stop these criminals, let us go forward for the good citizens of New... I mean the Endless Dunes, I feel like with all three of us no one could stand in the way of justice, and maybe once this is over I will introduce you both to my friends, one is a king after all and I am sure he will be willing to give you any information you are looking for."

Not long headed East, we found a turtle-like creature; yellow skin, black shell, red, glowing eyes, and black boots. "That looks familiar..." I said, staring at the turtle. "Wait a minute...Isn't this a-" I was cut off by the turtle creature. "An Apokalips Troopa, the army to the bringer of Apokalips, Darkseid?" the turtle creature said. "Wait a minute...Darkseid...I was supposed to be fighting him!" I said. "He is in that one place, the...Ashen Steppes, was it called...?" I asked Sisco. "Yeah, we MIGHT want to go get him..." Sisco said. I turned towards Raina. "Well...I guess this is goodbye...I hope to see you again..." I told Raina. I then sped off, dragging Vibe with. Remembering the path, I trailed towards the glowing portal to exit the Endless Dunes.

Raina just stood there flabbergasted. She looked at the turtle and then formed an elemental circle and blasted it with wind shooting it far away. "Damn turtle. Now where the hell am I?" She said looking around. "Vic, what do we do now?" She continued as she looked the man with her. She had some ideas in her mind that made her blush before she let out a slight giggle.

So she also had offensive magic to, this girl could prove to be very powerful in the future, Victor walked over to the turtle creature unsheathing his dagger, it looked dead but there was only one way to be sure.

Victor dragged the blade across its throat watching the blood flow, the body twitched slightly although this may have just been the nerves firing off and not a sign that the creature was faking its death. When he was sure he would not be ambushed by it he walked back over to Raina sheathing his dagger.

" Well I am sure we could find plenty of ways to pass the time with just the two of us" Victor said lustfully " But alas I do believe I have prior arrangements with some very powerful friends, you see I met a man in the Abyss, as I healed one of his companions back from the brink of death, he told me about his kingdom in this desert, and how one day he would rule over this entire desert bringing justice for all the people who lived here , freeing them from the oppressive grip of an empire. The confidence and passion behind his words left an impact on me, thus I have decided to help him achieve his goals using my very particular set of skills" Victor said with a smile.

" However I am sure for a lady as lovely as yourself there may be room in New Babylon, after all healers tend to be in short supply , and I doubt someone with as many talents as yourself would be turned down"

Victor walked over to the girl and offered her his hand " so shall we visit the the capital of what will eventually be the greatest kingdom in the world my lady? we could even call this a date. " Victor said with a grin, it was fun to interact with someone that had a normal range of emotion for once.

Raina eyed the man as he walked over to the defeated turtle and slit his throat. She grimaced as she saw the dagger cut into the turtles skin and watch the ruby red liquid flow. Killing was not her. She could not bring herself to kill even the most evil of creatures. She ran over to the turtle to see if she could heal him. He was dying but not there yet. Her eyes begin to glow, then her skin, and eventually her hair sparkled the glittering light that it does when her powers are activated. She spoke in a soft, but powerful voice. "Oh Heavens grant me your eternal love. Let the divine light bring him back from the door of death. I beseech thee. Use my body as a catalyst to help place your divine wish upon the wounded. Let us form the pact needed for me to do your bidding. Benedictio Curatio!" She said as her eyes flashed from the shimmer lighting and the wound on the turtle healed. He was alive. "*cough* *cough* Thank you, Divine one." The turtle said as he took off.

Raina stood up and had her back to the man with her. She wrapped her arms around herself and spoke. "All life is precious. I hope this you will learn. No matter how small or how evil. It is precious. I do not think we should kill unless it is the only way. Yes I did get angry at the Turtle, but my magic was dampened not to kill." She turned her head and looked over her shoulder at the man. Something definitely has changed in her. No more stuttering and no more blushing. Only confidence remained.

"This kingdom you speak of, I will join you there to see how it is, but for now it has no interest for me. I must warn them about Captain Cold, Reverse Flash, and even Aria. If soldiers were to run into those three, it would not end up well for them. Just let me change first." She said as she held her hands over her hearts and started a magic circle at her feet. It was obviously she was using Omnilium to acquire new clothing. The circle raged with magic potency until Raina's clothes turned into a long sleeveless white dress with a slit up the left leg. Many belts hug around her waist and a circlet was in her hair. "Much better. Show you lead the way?

Victor watched as the girl healed the turtle monster, it scrambled off before Wolfe could give chase, he would need to watch out for this girl, she seemed like the type that would heal her enemies after a fight and whilst this could win her some friends it could also lead to more unsavory characters killing her after she had healed them. Victor knew many crooks who would do it, and he did not want to see one of the first friendly faces he had seen in a long time get hurt because of her morals, thus he decided to give some advice based on his experiences in the past.

"Oh my dear if only you knew, I view life as more precious than anything in the world, it is why when I was taken from my homeland and forced to become an assassin, I decided to use my new talents to prevent senseless killings, with one slash of my dagger i could cause entire armies to lose their moral and surrender thus preventing the peasants undoubtedly being forced to fight as fodder from being slaughtered by the armies of a bloodthirsty and expansive empire." Victor Wolfe said with a dark look on his face

"I realised sometimes there is no way to prevent death ,and if I had to chose between a long and bloody war with thousands of casualties on both sides, including many civilians who wanted nothing more than to protect their lands, or slit the throat of the general at the back of the field in his tent drinking wine whilst the army he was in charge of did the work for him, then I think the answer is obvious. Sometimes the world needs people like me to make the hard decisions and do what others will not, I do not take any pleasure in the act of killing, I was however conditioned to believe that it is a necessary evil" said with a harsh and serious look on his face, before it faded back to his natural warm and smiling face

" I am sorry if you disagree, but let us talk of more pleasant things from now on, morality can be a subject that leaves no one happy and I would hate to see you upset" Victor Wolfe started to walk in the direction that he had been told to head for hoping to reach the city before night fall.

" So as a way of changing the subject, do you have anyone special to you back home, I assume you were taken from your homeland too? And what is your world like, I have always enjoyed traveling and exploring new lands, and it might be a long walk, so why don't you tell me about your world and your past" Victor said with a smile.

The gentle breeze seemed to turn into a roaring scream. The sky became clouded and gray, dull and lackluster, void without color. The first tear fell from the heavens and hit the ground in front of the two. "Finally." The girl whispered mysteriously as the rain started to pour. She seemed to almost dance as they moved together, her head held up embracing the sky. She didn't seem to care that her white dress was getting soaked. She seemed to really enjoy the rain. "The rain and I share a special bond, it was the birthright of my name. I am Princess Raina, the Maiden of the Dawn, and with the dawn there is the morning rain." The girl's words hung with a cloud of mystery as her eyes seemed to water along with the rain. Tears fell down her face sparkling against her sun kissed skin.

"Feel happy you were taken from your home. There are fates much worse then that. My home, Mystia is locked away in a distant dimension that is unavailable to beings of less then divine blood. We did not realize that someone could take over a divine. That was our Achilles Heel. My sister, Aria, was always the jealous hot head type. She was cursed with an inferiority to Mana. Her body couldn't not process like mine. My sister and I are polar opposites. I am what is called a Relic in my home world. A user of elemental Mana almost limitless in what I can do as long as I train properly. While Aria was a swordsman. She was better skilled at weapons then I. Her thirst for power and jealousy of mine caused her to become weak of mind and led her astray. A demon known only as SIN, warped her view and granted her dark powers. She killed our family and everyone in our dimension before setting her sites on me. SIN granted Aria the power to absorb power from her victims. I managed to escape and thought I entered a portal to Man's World, but ended up here." She said as tears fell down her face.

"So now you know why I cherish life. For it is so fragile and can easily be destroyed." She finished as she turned her head to the man. "Anyway, lead the way."

Victor thought about exactly what the girl had told him, her story was even sadder than his, he had lost his family and country but had gained a lot in return , his skills , and much of his world view were shaped around what he was taught at a young age in the academy. This girl however had lost almost everything , she had also suffered one of what Wolfe considered to be an absolute taboo, to be betray one's kin, this girl's own sister had turned against her and caused her homeland to be locked away.

He noticed the tears starting to stream down the girl's face and felt something he had not felt in a long time, Empathy, a feeling that served very little purpose to an assassin but still was nice to know he could still feel, he felt a slight tinge of guilt for bringing up a subject that had brought the girl to tears.

He walked over towards her and embraced her, pulling her towards his chest and said softly " you know I always used to hate the rain, I found it cold , harsh and that it would remind me of all the bad things that happened in my life, but now that I can associate Rain with you , it does not seem that bad. So please don't cry , its always saddening to see such a beautiful face without a smile on it" Victor let go of the girl and began to walk forward towards New Babylon, emotional outburst where not that normal for him, and he decided to try and collect his thoughts, he turned to the girl and said one last word of encouragement " the new dress looks great on you" And proceeded to walk onwards keeping a slow but steady pace.

His warmth. It was odd for her. He was a stranger to her, someone she just met and here he was embracing her? Humans sure are odd. She waited for him to release her from his grasp and blushed a little at the comment about her dress. She tried to follow Victor but slipped on the wet sand and landed on her bottom causing her chest to jiggle. She rubbed her head a little and made a cute embarrassed face. "Damn this hellish sand!" She said as she just sat there. It was obvious sand was not something she was accustomed to. She tried to get up but slipped on her heels and fell again.

"What madness is this!" She cried out. "Um.. Victor.. I don't know if I can get up. Could you help me?" She asked obviously embarrassed.

Victor Wolfe giggled at the girl, so innocent and childish yet with so much jiggling he could not believe that after being strangled to death in a blood sport the next thing he would be doing would be to play around in a desert laughing with a girl. It was some good innocent fun.

Wolfe walked over to try and help the girl up forgetting that he had never tried to walk through a raining desert before , his over confidence caused him to fall into the girl face first as the sand came away underneath him.

he could not see anything , however what he had landed in was amazingly soft, clearly not sand, he lifted his hand up to try and get a grip onto something , so that he could stand up again, what he felt was squishy and soft but warm, he lifted his head and realized the position he was in, the unfortunate fall had landed his head directly into the gap between Raina's breasts, and that was what his hand had been squeezing moments ago.

She had a look somewhere between embarrassment and anger and before Wolfe could laugh it off and apologize she had launched him into the nearest sand dune with a punch, it felt like a ton of bricks, this girl could hit extremely hard when angry a note to his future self, not to get on her bad side.

Still Victor looked at his hand , so soft! He blushed slightly but managed to contain himself, he walked over to the girl making sure to be careful on the wet sand and after convincing her that he would not grope her ,managed to lift the girl up.

"your bleeding!" she said as she started to cast a healing charm but Victor denied it , gently lowering her hand away from the bleeding bruise now on his face " you got me good with this one, save your magic , This much is pretty easy for my healing rate to recover , you see I may be frail but its pretty hard to keep me down for long" Wolfe smiled as the wound began to patch itself up and within about a minute of walking was completely healed.

" you see I am much tougher than your average human, just one request , please don't hit me in the face and I will avoid fondling you without permission, after all my face is one of my better features or so people used to tell me"

Victor and Raina had almost reached Nippur the capital of New Babylon, it could be seen on the horizon looking much more like a small town than a capitol for a mighty kingdom, but it was a start, and all it would take would be the right people working on it.
