Monster Tinder
#61
Minor update: I'm finally moving on, the two blocks named "Colonel" and "exam period" have been moved. The good news is, exams seem to have gone well. The bad news is, Colonel is going home with no waifu (reasons stated within). If anyone has any ideas though, I'd love to hear them!

Anderson will be finished... hopefully later today.

Female.

Takezo is from Japan, 16th century and is obsessed with becoming a master swordsman. He is not known to be the most friendly to possible opponents, however those who share his goals, but don't seek to directly oppose him (such as his childhood friend) have traveled with him. There can be many masters, but only one can be Immortal Under the Heavens (a goal ingrained into him from childhood.)

He can be quite kind to women, especially those with softer personalities. This is perhaps the only time he appears to be less than a demon of the sword. Strong women sometimes annoy him, but he still maintains a gentler hand until doing so puts his own life at risk. At which point, he returns to his merciless self-preservation-driven self.

While he isn't necissarily "Evil" he is very chaotic and happily ends the life of another to prove his strength or prevent a threat against his own survival. This cold outlook on the value of life (that his is above everyone else's) has given him the reputation as a demon among many who know his name.

Insectoids are a no-go, as are equines and bovines. I'm a fly-swatting, bike-loving, pasturized-milk-drinking kinda guy. Tongue

Edit: Though he does not rely on anyone (preferring to rely on his own strength) he is not against others relying on him. In fact, he has been known to actually do good when it comes to the protection of innocence. This is something of a caveat to the "Demon's" otherwise murderous reputation.

Chara
[Image: dta__maneki_neko_yokai_boy_by_punkpeony-dangcq3.png]
Maneki Neko!

Most of you probably know Maneki Nekos as those statues of a cat with a charm in one of its paws and the other one raised in a beckoning motion, functioning as decoration, (economic) fortune and good luck charms. They're a very known and liked souvenir for people who travel to Japan. Cats are linked to all sorts of supernatural occurences, sometimes to bad luck and curses, but often also as good creatures who bring luck and prosperity.
Maneki Nekos are a type of youkai (japanese spirit) that, in a way similar to tanuki, can shapeshift and enjoy pulling an occasional prank but are benevolent at heart. They ward off bad luck and evil from homes and their families in exchange of offerings. This particular Maneki Neko tomcat likes to take the appearance of a housecat and live with people for a while, bringing them joy and good luck and being pet and fed for it.
Now, Chara... Chara is kind of a special one, in that she was supposed to be dead but still is alive and in that she is filled with hate, rage... and fear and sadness, deep down. After all she was forced to see Frisk, whose body she inhabited, kill everyone she came across, even her own parents, and the negative feelings of hatred and rage that were Frisk's emotions passed onto her. But even without that, she's an 8 year old who, depending on the theories, had a horrible childhood and killed herself in a gruesome, painful way to aid monsters. Someone that young is very impressionable. Such a series of bad experiences, of shocks, abuse, witnessing violence and dark feelings... I personally believed that these circumstances made her who she is. She deserves better than that. A figure that will see past these flaws and that will forgive her, and one that can help her. Now I realize that my last post said that characters should be liked the way they are, not changed (like Colonel), but Chara is different in that she needs a figure that helps her with her development as she grows to adolescence and adulthood. She doesn't have to be changed, especially not against her will, to conform to someone else's preferences. Besides, Maneki Neko would probably like her either way.
That's Maneki Neko for you. Chara's misfortune and negative emotions will attract him, and shifting to cat form he will observe Chara and approach her. She may swing her knife at him a few times, but a Youkai's tougher than to go down from that. They can be annoyingly persistent, in fact. Over time - and this may take months or years - he will find his way into Chara's heart and act as a sort of pet to her when in cat form, and playmate otherwise. Never mind his older looks - he's a kid at heart, and would probably be like Chara's older brother. He won't impose his views on her either, but he will try to help alleviate some of the damage that her past has brought - and most importantly, as a youkai with supernatural powers, he will be able to remove the hate and rage that is not Chara's own, but Frisk's, once Chara is mentally separated enough from it to let it go.
A romantic relationship is unlikely to stem from this, especially considering how young Chara is. They would probably remain as siblings instead. But hey, not every match on here needs to end up with marriage and children, right?

Desman Black
[Image: latest?cb=20150729074941]
Slime!

(Finally picking things back up here)

Desman's big problem, as explained by him, is that he blames himself for the deaths of those around him - and everyone around him seems to die for some reason as if it was fate. It is usually not his fault nor could he have prevented it but it drove him into a very socially withdrawn state and even made him give up his humanity. Now I know that I said that a good monster partner should match the character as they are, not forcing a change on them, but in this case it's different.
Slimes are among the more enigmatic monsters, and that's saying something. Some slimes have "cores" that form the organic, intelligent part of their otherwise liquid body, others don't - and this particular one belongs to the latter class. Each cell in her body is a deposit of thick liquid, capable of linking itself to other cells to establish an intelligence, whilst serving as a memory storage in and of itself - the conglomerate of cells shapes itself into a humanoid form, which is then a slime. Effectively, her body is immune to just about any form of harm - physical projectiles or weapons would simply pass through, whereas magical and other supernatural attacks have next to nothing to "grasp" at because you're attacking billions of single cells, not a single organism. That doesn't make her invincible, in fact her big weakness is a very common one: namely water. In all its forms it poses a threat to Slime, who could dissolve in a big body of water or absorb rainwater to give two examples, and lose the necessary consistency to keep herself in shape. Whether or not she can really die this way is unclear. Furthermore slimes are, while not dumb, only childishly intelligent at first and require the support and guidance of others to accomplish more complex tasks. They learn over time.
In other words Desman is not going to have an independant immortal girlfriend that he needs not to worry about ever because nothing will kill her - Slime would require constant care, in the event of rain he'd better have an umbrella ready to bring her somewhere dry. Slimes have another notable feature however, it's that their personality, much like their body, is very malleable. They learn by mimicking those around her and develop a personality based on that, thus Slime would rapidly become a useful ally if Desman just invests some time into her, and she'll wisen up to the dangers that surround her. Worst case scenario, she gets "killed"? She could give Desman a piece of herself to keep in a testing tube as a backup of sorts, though her loss would probably still feel bad. Not as bad as completely losing her. The backup can reform into Slime.
In short, Desman would keep losing Slime to various circumstances, then regain her by letting her backup out of the test tube. He would learn that by caring for her and by being safe he can save her. That maybe, fate is not absolute. He's not safe from losing her, but she won't disappear from one day to another. And Slime's childish, fun and yet friendly and caring personality (that's what most slimes develop) would remind him that there's fun in being with others.

Vision
[Image: Shirohebi_0.jpg]
Shirohebi (White Snake)!

Why not a regular lamia? Because Shirohebi has more waifu factor. Don't try to deny it Vision, you need more waifu in your life.
I know little about Vision but it is my understanding that he's an android who is mentally a human - not just simulating it, but really one. A human with a synthetic body. He's been married to a woman so we can safely assume that he's into girls. He may also be into humans more than monstergirls, but this is Monster Tinder - no humans here!
This match is more based around Shirohebi, Vision's match, than around Vision himself, though a few reasons can be listed as to why they'd be a great couple: first of all Shirohebis tend to be mikos - shrine maidens - to benevolent deities. Vision may not be a god but he's certainly a benevolent person, seeking justice and happiness for the world... even if the cost may be great. Shirohebi is not a fighter, though certainly not defenseless either, but she too seeks to bring luck and happiness to the world. And to be happy herself.
Now, lamias have one major problem: their tails. Or entire lower body, in fact. Humans are fragile creatures, and even among monster-people there aren't many that can deal with the immense physical strength and weight that said tail brings. Better leave the weight out, but an adult lamia could crush a car if she wrapped her tail around it, no problem. And when they get affectionate (not necessarily sex, cuddling works too!) they wrap their tail around their partner and restrain them tightly. They often don't even realize that they're doing this. While they have great control over their tail it may happen that they constrict reflexively when tensing up for any reason, for instance when getting shocked or surprised from an outside influence. That brief moment of constriction is enough to crush numerous bones in their partner's body, and the lamia will be horrified about it.
But, Vision. Here we have a being made out of one of the most durable materials on earth, capable of making himself even more durable AND capable of phasing himself out of a tight bind - literally - if things get hairy. Car-crushing muscles wouldn't be able to dent him. He'd probably comment on it, but otherwise just appreciate the tight hug, then phase his arms through Shirohebis restraint to hug her back, or pull her into a kiss.
Also, for those who can endure or don't mind the tail restrainings, lamias are among the best partners that you can have. They are incredibly cuddly and affectionate, very caring for their partner - though unfortunately not the best cooks because as carnivores their sense of taste is not very sensitive - and during the winter will be needing constant body warmth so as to avoid going into hibernation. They are a little clingy and needy, yes, but they can learn to be independant too - they're humanly smart and thus able to understand if their partner needs a little distance once in a while. Shirohebis in particular can become as devoted to their partner as they are to their chosen deity. Which is a lot. The only worry is that Vision might get overwhelmed by all the cuddlings.

Hiro Protagonist
[Image: Wyvern_0.jpg]
Wyvern!

Wyverns belong to the family of dragons and harpies, and in a way are the jack-of-both-trades between the two species as they sport the scales and physical strength of dragons as well as their intellect (though they are nowhere near as strong or resiliant as a full dragon) and the instinctual, primal side of harpies in addition to their wing-hands (but no regular arms in addition to that) and a relatively small, light body - though they lack the light frame and speed of harpies. Wyverns can thus risk falling to their own instincts (when hungry or tired, being scared of predator species etc.) and are more emotional and slightly more aggressive/abrasive than dragons. They are more intelligent than cliché "bird-brained" harpies however, capable of long-term thought and understanding large and complex problems, equivalent to an adult human.
As per his own explanation Hiro is someone who's intelligent and esoteric and who takes it upon himself to train so that he can save the world, but at the same time he's a lazy bastard and tends towards chaos - he understands the need for law and order but he dislikes an excess of control. Finally, he's a pragmatist - he's not above playing dirty to further his own goals, which is in line with his sort-of chaotic alignment. Ultimately though he fights for what's right - in his eyes, anyway.
Wyverns are, to put it bluntly, physical creatures. Because they are instinct-driven oftentimes and due to being part-reptile and part-bird, two creatures susceptible to cold temperatures, they need warmth. Hiro would be used as a human radiator many a time, especially in winter. Their aggressiveness means that the relationships they have are often controlling, though I doubt that Hiro would let Wyvern put him under her thumb(claw), in which case... well, it would be a relationship built on shaky pillars that can collapse easily and will need nurturing. I'm not going to sugarcoat it: Wyverns are a handful to handle and not everyone lines up with them. If Hiro wants to make it work he's got his work cut out for him. He'll deal with a girl that has a mind of her own and is certainly not afraid of butting heads, especially at the start of their relationship. Over time she'll warm up to him (though she may deny that!), but it's always going to be a relationship where disgreements will come up and will have to be resolved with compromises.
On the plus side? Wyvern's scales are not as sharp as those of a dragon and she's got four arms plus a tail to hug Hiro with, so physical contact will be comfy! And if he can introduce her to the wonders of modern-day TV and Internet, she'll have something to do when it's winter and she's in a semi-hibernating state wanting constant contact. Or when she's just having a lazy day. For these times, many an evening will be spent with literal (and eventually figurative?) Netflix & Chill.

Guu
[Image: 2157b80736a5049c93ffa7092f6a950b.jpg]
Dullahan!

Guu was one of the slightly more difficult ones because she doesn't seem like the sort of person that gets emotionally attached to someone - as in, genuinely attached. Haré, from what I heard, was more of a victim and a sort-of-but-not-really friend who had to endure her troll-ness and antics. She's not an unfriendly person but she needs someone who, while not completely ignoring that part of her, will take it. And they should be older than a kid, someone mature enough to grow emotionally attached beyond a simple friendship.
Dullahan will be that person. Yes, I know that the image is of a headless horseman with a jack-o-lantern head, leave me alone. I'm trying to paint a character here.
Dullahans, for those unfamiliar with them, are a type of supernatural spirit. While not Grim Reapers themselves, they have their roles before and after a person's death: it is said that they splash someone doomed to die soon with a bucket of blood, and that after their death they guide the soul over the Sanzu River to the afterlife. Some Dullahans are capable of influencing a person's fate however, to prolong or shorten their life. They could guide a person back from the brink of death or kill them on the spot using their weapon of choice, which tends to be an executioner's sword or a scythe.
It's likely that upon meeting him Guu would troll Dullahan for a while by stealing his head and replacing it with a jack-o-lantern or some such, with the best part being that he would not even notice for a while: his body, for lack of eyes, is blind and whatever he puts on his neck would gain the properties of a head. Until he encounters a mirror or finds that his head is oddly round and smells of pumpkin, Dullahan would be none the wiser - and rather quite enraged and embarassed when he finds out. Not that he could do much to Guu, with her being a supernatural deity and whatnot in her homeworld, and a Prime in the Omniverse. Not even Dullahan can permanently kill a Prime. And considering his nature as a spirit beyond life and death he may very well attempt so with Guu for no reason other than that she messed with him.
Dullahans are a serious bunch, and this one's no exception. Emphasis on serious: he's not stoic. Guu's antics and her failure to take him seriously would annoy him and the fact that she's so resistant to his supposedly absolute powers would cause his pride to feel hurt, meaning that while he would react to Guu's pranks and tricks he would not just leave her. He'd try to kill her in her sleep, sure. But at best that would just buy him seven days of peace.
Will the relationship evolve beyond that? Given enough time, yes. If Guu is patient with Dullahan, he's going to start seeing beyond the prankster that Guu is on the surface and discover her caring side. That she does this sort of thing not to anyone, but to people she cares about. And that she didn't give him his head back and tell him to gtfo because she enjoys his company. And his attempts at killing her might become rarer and more half-hearted. Guu on the other hand would have someone that she can show her real self to more, without being as cautious as she really is: an eldritch creature drives people to insanity with its mere presence, after all, but Dullahan's not people. If she musters the patience for it, this very peculiar relationship will turn into a good friendship and more than that eventually. It's just going to be a shaky start, and far from guaranteed to work out. But then again, what would be the fun if everything went smooth as butter?

In reflection of recent events, Ebony may find herself in need of a monster sidekick! (Male or female, must be cool. Like, cloaks and fire and lightning and maybe magic stuff. Also, they should probably need to be able to deal with how shy and easily panicked she is.)

Although it'll probably be a year until you get to her...

Hey, mind suggesting a platonic (cuz he's already married) monster relationship for Hunter please?

EDIT: Lawful Good. Hunter is a family man at heart, although his lunacy makes it difficult for him at times. He tends to end up on the gentler side of things, and Stella was usually the more assertive one. Without her to keep him grounded, he runs the risk of losing touch with reality, so someone mature enough to talk some sense into him would be appreciated. He'd also like to take care of things, so high-maintenance monsters wouldn't be as much as a problem for him.

Because it's platonic, either gender works. He probably won't be interested in demon-like monsters, however. Witches are also right out. Angelic creatures, on the other hand, would definitely appeal to him.

Always accepting sidekicks!
edit:
Alignment: Lawful Good
All Might has been dedicated to the role of "Superhero" since he was a teenager. He's been a diligent beacon of hope to the people he protects ever since, even to the point where he works himself ragged. When he is under the weather however, he'll give no outward sign of it until he crashes and is forced to recover. Someone to act as a sense of restraint would help in the long run.
In terms of his goals, he's got brawn down pat. In his homeverse he's the strongest man in Japan, while in the OV he's no slouch by any means either. It's not to say he's lacking in the brains department, but someone to help direct his actions would make him more effective, and he's open to such partnerships.
My All Might is pansexual, and he's attracted towards mainly other muscular people, and although he's not seeking out romantic companionship, if it comes along his way, he might find himself pulled head over heels without realizing it.
He has a distaste for attitudes that are 'supervillain'-y. Anyone who believes might makes right, ironically, doesn't get a good first impression.

For everyone that is after Guu (from Post #37 onwards!): please provide some information about what sort of monster you would like to be matched to in terms of personality! Every bit of information regarding the personality of your character, their hobbies, alignment, preferences and distastes is helpful. It's likely that I'll be contacting you anyway, but this helps me think of something and narrow things.

Thank you!

Sarah Kerrigan
[Image: Lilim_0.jpg]
Spirit-Demon!

Let's be up-front here: Kerrigan doesn't need someone who she can get romantically, let alone sexually, involved with. She's probably got some love hidden deep in there beneath the chitin exoskeleton, but what she needs - if one can even speak of that - is someone who's useful to her, who complements her in some form.
The issue is, Kerrigan has just about everything she could ever wish for: she's intelligent, she's powerful (one of the most powerful creatures in the Koprulu sector, if not the entire universe, second only to Amon and the other Xel'Naga), she has an army of innumerable self-multiplying and adapting soldiers under her absolute remote control... the only things she could want would be more power, and if she ran into a monster that somehow has more power than her she'd just kill it and assimilate its essence into the Zerg swarm, or zergify it. I find this to be a bad thing because it would take away the monster's individuality. On the other hand, Kerrigan would perceive someone that cannot be zergified as a potential threat if they're powerful enough. I can't say for certain, but I imagine that Kerrigan's physical body is relatively vulnerable if caught offguard.
This leaves us with the following: It must be someone who's useful to Kerrigan in some manner, who's weak enough to not pose a threat or be an assimilation target and who's either unzergifyable or in some way dangerous to zergify.

Hence, a Spirit-Demon. To give you the jist, Spirit-Demons are the souls of deceased evil people who enter Hell and are transformed. Contrast regular Demons, which are "living" creatures. Spirit-Demons are nearly impossible to kill permanently because one would have to destroy their soul, which is more resilient than flesh and blood, though they can be temporarily scattered, taking a while to reform. They are fairly powerful users of demonic magic and, because they are a soul with physical form and not a meat-and-bones body, they are effectively immune to disease, broken bones, blood loss etc. - and Zerg infestation. Effectively, Kerrigan would be unable to kill Spirit-Demon or assimilate her into the Zerg Swarm. This will, of course, be a bad thing initially, though Spirit-Demon would be fascinated by Kerrigan's immense powers and wish to serve her - with the hopes of getting a little planet or two to reign over once the Zerg rule over the entire Galaxy, that is. And Kerrigan is a smart cookie: she'll recognize the use for a near-immortal creature, be it sending her on suicide missions such as for info-gathering where Spirit-Demon gets captured and finds ways to invoke the whole "Before I kill you let me reveal to you my master plan" trope, then gets "killed" and reforms to tell Kerrigan everything she knows.

I don't think that the relationship would go much further than that - Kerrigan would at best tolerate Spirit-Demon as a sort of ally, but it's unlikely that she'll fall in love. If she could do that she'd be together with Raynor. Similarly, Spirit-Demon is in it for personal gain, so... a mutually beneficial relationship would work? (This reminds me of Hiro's Ferengi...)
