Hey everyone, I just wanted to remind the first round of posters that there is ~8 hours left to post. Desco reminded me and I really appreciated it, passing it on~

And that's game for me and Kopaka/Neal.
@Kopaka: Though our middle posts were strange, overall enjoyable. Also I don't think I'd mind losing, your writing is well composed and I find myself quite jealous that my grasp of the English language isn't as good. We should do it again soon sometime, though with more back and forth and more posts.

Yeah sorry about that. This was actually my first fight so I was flailing a little.

Hey, I'm writing up the judgement now, and I just want you both to know that you were stellar. It was a GREAT first round matchup, and it's a shame that one of you won't be continuing into the competition. You both put up a great show, and it was a really fun read from both of you. I'll reiterate that in your write up, but I just wanted to say it here since we're already talking about it haha

I'll be reposting in a bit. Minus the naughty part. *forms a cross with his fingers*

SITE PSA Hey folks! So Luffy just did something in his fight that some players might consider to be scandalous. Due to a few little factors, it SEEMED to be an issue, when in fact it wasn't. The problem at hand was that he did something that some writers might find TOO insulting to their character, and would be actually real-world offended by. Here's the important part though: Luffy asked permission. He went out of his way, BEFORE POSTING, to ask the other writer if the thing they were planning to do would be ok. And here's the other important part: they said yes. They didn't not reply, they didn't talk around the issue, they gave a definitive "Yes, that is ok." This site, as in real life, everything you do that's above and beyond the normal, day to day interaction with another person, DEMANDS consent from the other individual involved. If you get clear, express, and ENTHUSIASTIC consent, do whatever you want so long as you slap an [M] tag on the more lewd things. (Luffy's post was not inherently sexual, but involved a "rude" part of his body, which is still far and away something that he needed to ask consent for.) We're all writers writing on a site that has adult content, and we are all capable of consenting or NOT consenting to whatever the hell we feel like, and, in general, it's ok so long as SUFFICIENT NOTICE is posted for anyone that might stumble onto your post. Included in that warning, please include the disclaimer that your actions were CONSENTED TO, so that the Staff doesn't blow up your post (or your account) from orbit. However, if after a bit of due investigation, we find that you have written some degrading or sexual content about another character without enthusiastic consent, we will ban you. We will ban you off the face of the planet. I will personally do my best to ensure you never, ever come back. I hope that clears up why Luffy's post is ok (now that they've added some [M] tags and a note about consent), and certain other posts by now-banned members was not ok. If there are any questions, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MESSAGE THE STAFF. This is not a topic we want there to be any ambiguity about.

Let's all just consider this an opportunity to clarify some things that may have been left vague prior to the incident. As an added tip, I would never intentionally disrespect someone like past members have clearly done so and received punishment for.

Adding a Mature tag to your post, to inform them of potential naughty/overly vivid content, is usually necessary for anything on the taboo side.
Also, if the opposing writer gives their consent to something, then the actions within the content were agreed upon by both parties. While the post is pretty vivid, and possibly distasteful (to some), it should still be ok within the realm of Artistic Freedom.

Feeling the need to ask this now:
Are injuries based on what's occurred within the RP itself, regarding the health mechanic? additionally, how does it work if someone wins but is reduced to 0 HP in the same fight? ![]()

Damage is calculated by one of the judges after the fight. They look at the scorecard and give out the actual dmg taken accordingly. They usually follow the rp and hand out wounds that are relevant to the RP.

Just to repeat this -- Damage Points are irrelevant in this situation, because everyone is given enough time to heal or get healing between rounds.

What kind of edits would be permissible to already posted battle posts (in particular the most recent)?

Proto has final say, but I think it's final when you post.

I posted this (perhaps erroneously) in the Going Away Topic, but due to a new job hitting me liek a bus, I'm not gonna be able to post my score cards til the end of the weekend. I have them all like, half-filled out, but there's just no time for me to finished them before I leave tonight.
It sucks and it's not fair and I'm sorry, but I'd appreciate some patience on that one, I got hit by the oncoming train of life >_> You'll all have scorecards before it's time to move to the next round, I promise.

No one can deny you are doing an excellent job and offering very thorough feedback on the grading, I think they'll understand and the suspense will just add to the HYPE. congrats on the new job!

Also keep in mind: the different judges will judge more or less generously. It just happens. Try not to take it personally if you're comparing your score against another person's and there seem to be discrepancies in standards.
The important thing is the COMPARISON between two scores in a fight. |
