I can say for certain that I've successfully made the bare bones for a functioning civilization, starting with Adam's Anachronomalous ChronoKingdom (fuck, I don't even know if I'm saying that right anymore).

It wouldn't look pretty if you were to actually play the game with it, but the bare basics such as AI, territory color, city names, and the like, the things you guys will actually be seeing, are ready to go, at least for this civ. The other 13 or so should just be some quick copy-pasting!

Depending on how much time I have, I might assign unique personality values to all of them as well...but that'd entail a lot of reading of profiles and translating words to mere numbers. Also certain values left in character would screw some civs over from the start, such as making them too non-aggressive or averted from building military units. Therefore my current course of action will be to just assign them all the most aggressive/deceptive personality currently in the game (ARC), which should provide for some interesting situations.

Also considering i've started a skeleton for each of these guys, I may actually turn this into a full-fledged mod. But that's a story for another day. First there must be a battle to the death for ultimate control of teh Omnivurse :frog:

XML is being a bitch lol. For some reason it's literally impossible to get a civ i made to work.

So instead of making my own, I decided to plagiarize other mods and screw with the text files to give different city/civ/leader names. Hallelujah. This also means that Episode one of the Battle for the Omniverse should be posted by tomorrow since this will be a very quick procedure.

I've already decided who's getting what sponsor, and I've provided links to the mod pages so that people will be more familiar with what their empire's going to be, as well as a lil explanation for each.

Let's begin:

Chronolord Adam Gaite of The Achronomalous ChronoKingdom: The Glorious PC Gaming Master Race
It was just too good to pass up. Hopefully they'll release that one game from that one chapter from that one web-comic that caused the apocalypse, I hear it'll be a "smash"ing success.

Overlord of The Domain of Circumvention (Atonement/Blue Eyes): The Unian Collective
I honestly had no idea what would work for this. The modded sponsors that made sense with the name and idea were poorly made. So I circumvented your expectations of circumvention by providing you in a most circumventing manner with a North American organization that circumvents the capitalist norm. Happy circumventionating!

Governor Ururu Kyuuei of the Academy: Academician Zharkov of the University of Planet
Switched from TMR since there were no magic factions except one that I found was unfitting, and this matchup I think makes a lot more sense. Ururu gets her own technocracy to rule over!

Vector Okor of The Infection: The Swarm (Queen of Blades)
It's that time of the year again, when Zergs everywhere swarm the ever-living fuck out of people. Time to infect some bitches m8.

Idk, I just figured it'd be a decent match. Unfortunately there were no frog factions :frog:

The Progenitors, from Civ: Alpha Centauri, and BE, are quite enigmatic. So congrats, you are now Monsieur Enigmatic Alien Man

With a cursory read of your profile, I discovered that Trixie's a Star Wars (OC, i think, if not I'm dumb) character. Besides me frickin loving that, I was quite sad to note there were no Star Wars sponsor mods. So I decided to keep the sci-fi theme and give you an autocratic faction from Killzone...seems Sithy enough eh?

General Connor Hound of Arcadia: Galactic Roman Empire
Since Arcadia seems to be in the general area of the Mediterranean and is quite the military power, I figured this would be a close enough approximation. Viva Romana. I think. Viva Romana also seems to be some Italian punk rock band, idfk.

Hokage Hatake Kakashi of The Hidden Empire: Brotherhood of NOD
You now command an army of cyber-ninjas adept at infiltration! Y'know, like actual ninjas. Instead of the ninjas that like summon shit that blows up the planet. Unfortunately that would kinda wreck the balance of the game if i took that route.

Princess Guu of The Principality of Ambrosia: Gaia’s Stepdaughters
Guu is a jungle spirit that protects her domain. Lady Deirdre and her Gaia's Stepdaughters are a bunch of badass Scottish space hippies that will kick anyone's ass to defend the Planet. Match made in heaven.

Hopefully this is as balanced as possible. While some of these factions have a strong early game advantage, they fall off to give way to factions that come into their own in the late game. At any rate, no matter who's playing who, this'll be quite fun to record and show. This might be worthy of a novella depending on what happens <.<

After an initial failure of a playtest, my shite computer nearly broke. So, in an attempt to make sure the game works correctly and doesn't fuck my crappy computer up, I've decided that there will be two preliminary matches. The top four sponsors that don't die will enter the final round. To expedite the process, the map will be tiny, so wars and alliances can happen soonah.

It's Turn 2, and the state of the game has been set: Let's take a look, shall we?

(sidenote: the resolution will be better in future uploads, just wanted to get started already)



Ah, Rubick's glorious capital city of Le Coeur. Take a good long look, it'll be gone in one more turn :poop:



Here we have the Eastern Powers, Kakashi's Hidden Empire (Konohagakure) and Gilg (Babylon) in the northern area, with Okor's Infection (Infector Prime) and Demetri's Freefall (The Void) to the south. This is a particularly interesting setup: both of the game's major espionage powers are in the same area. Meanwhile, Gilgamesh has it in the research department due to his own unique trait, while Vector Okor will soon be spawning zergs to overwhelm whoever pisses him off first. I'd say it's a tossup: if Okor's aggressive enough, he might claim an early victory here, but at the same time the other three major powers might attempt to crush him should he become too ambitious.

Let's move on to the next area:



Here are the Southern Powers, to the west of the Void (I guess Demetri also counts as a player in this sphere of influence, but Okor's Infection's a bit more attention grabbing). To the Northwest, the Dreamer-Mind (Dreamer Prime) and Empress Trixie (Coruscant) are close together, while Princess Guu (Guu's Landing) possesses a safer position, Ambrosia being tucked in the southernmost region of the map. Dreamer may find it a bit hard to grow at first due to his penalties to food and production, but his ability to assimilate the population of razed cities into his own, as well as his bonus to science, culture, and unit combat strength, might give him the edge here. However, Trixie is equally strong and aggressive, getting a culture bonus whenever her armies defeat a unit, and getting a small bonus to production early game with free autoplants in her cities. Without doubt, a war between these two powers is brewing. Meanwhile, Guu will probably set up a defensive, harmony-oriented empire to the south. It'll be very difficult to take her down, with her defense and tile yield bonuses in miasma, combined with a prime starting position, will aid her tremendously in setting up a strong power. Given enough time, she can make a decently strong military to offset her relative weakness in this area.



Finally, the Northwestern Powers, to the northwest and possibly including Dreamer-Mind's capital. Here we have Adam Gaite's ChronoKingdom (Chronopolis), And Jade Harley's Eastern Capital. Using her cunning, she's already tricked us into thinking she'll settle in the East...only to settle in the West. Meanwhile, in a similar fashion to Guu, Adam Gaite has a strong defensive position in the northernmost corner of the map. With a bonus to wonder construction, Adam can make full use of this position to gain the edge in the bonuses wonders can give a sponsor. However, Harley can create a strong harmony-based army that might threaten Adam's existence, or even Dreamer-mind's. One thing's for certain: this land will not go uncontested.

Unfortunately I had the last game set on the wrong difficulty. Since I don't want the AI to end up being a bunch of babies who got dropped on their heads, I decided to redo the game, this time on the correct difficulty: Super MLG Apollo.
