Why couldn't Palpatine summon space marines?

They serve as Palpatine's guard, but that is as far as Palpatine's Omni-influence goes. (too many unknowns) Oh yeah, oops, I forgot about that.
Proto Man Wrote:Why couldn't Palpatine summon space marines? The rules say that you can't summon Secondaries from unrelated places other than your world:
Quote:In regards to pulling NPCs from unrelated media - for example, I'm Samus but I want to use a Dragon Ball Z's Vegeta in my roleplays - this is generally a no.
Although, upon closer inspection and given the way it's worded, that might be more of an OOC rule rather than an IC one, right?
That said, Palpatine would still never have seen a Spehss Mehreen before, so if he had no idea what they looked like, would he even have been able to summon them? Although I guess if he met one of them, who was either a Prime or someone else's Secondary, he would have known from then on.
On a semi-related note: does that mean that it's okay for us to summon Secondaries from unrelated media, provided they're just nameless minions?
For example, if my character saw a stormtrooper wandering around and was all like "Oooo, I want one!", would he be allowed to summon his own?

Unless palpatine is one of the strongest npc's prime created to give the omniverse shape and mods/admins just thought it would be better if there were more different kind of secondaries than just stormtroopers.
And who knows....perhaps palpatine has a warhammer prime prisoner in the basement providing him with marines.....you never know ! Dont question everything...it ruins the magic

The rule about summoning not from your 'universe/canon' applies to named characters. It doesn't apply to nameless mooks.
So anyone could easily summon a space marine if they'd seen one and felt like it. They can't, however, summon Marneus Calgar or Cato Sicarius.
The first thing Proto Man deliberately summoned to the Omniverse was a Chocobo, because he remembered playing Final Fantasy II in a halfway house. And I'm pretty sure that the character Dr. McNinja rides around on a yoshi he summoned.

As a quick note: the Stealth Power does not inherently allow you to Stealth other people, and does not work if you are currently being observed.
You are completely entitled to attempt to leave the situation! Your success or failure will mainly be determined by the METHODS through which you attempt to escape. Also remember that you are all obligated to follow the Rules of the Omniverse, and manifesting convenient hover cars or other deux-ex-machina is not an acceptable way to escape this event. Write well, think hard, and if you come up with a COMPELLING STORY, you might be able to escape.

Demetri Malius Wrote:So in other words, we are still apparently screwed, but not as much, got it. I guess we could just have the stealth fail at the moment then. Jumping across builsing is atill fine though right? Yes, you are totally able to jump across/through the buildings would be fine, yes! Just keep in mind that the vast majority of the structures in Coruscant, especially Tier 1, are skyscrapers, so getting to an area that you can jump across might be tricky. Possible? Absolutely. Easy? No.
For the time being, the snipers that surround the block you guys are on will only attack you if you attempt to LEAVE the block. Also, they are snipers, so they are pretty darn far away. The two that got shot by Crash and Stuart might have been in a poor position, but a little more effort will likely be needed to kill the others.
If you ARE running, just by being able to look out and see the world, you would know that the shortest and safest path of egress is back through the Gate into the Nexus. That does not guarantee the pursuit will end there, but it's the fastest way you can currently see to escape.

Demetri Malius Wrote:Good to know, to the Nexus as fast as possible. I have an idea then for getting across. I'll be writing a short post now to update the group on the situation. Generally, unless a writer does something drastic, I'll be waiting for all 3 of you to post (or to say that you aren't going to) before posting a reply.

It's safe to say that, as it appears, that is not an option, no.
