Mandatory Roster Field: Source
#21
Adding character's sources to the actual rosters isn't an issue at all. Although, I'm not really comfortable saying it should be 'mandatory' without Omni's word on it. I already edited the source of my charactes into the character profile posts of their rosters.

I know the annoyance of having to guess which page I should click to to find a particular join form. I think putting it in their roster makes more sense, especially on a forum like this that by design has basically any media you can think of as a source.

Just my two cents, though. It's obviously up to staff.

You could just put the character's name in the search bar...

Right, but that still means you have to filter through every post they have ever done to find their join form, plus any that people have mentioned the character in. Some of the older accounts have more than 20 pages and if they've changed characters it just compounds the issue. You could avoid that by just putting it at the top of the roster page. One click and you have it, instead of spending a few minutes digging through posts.

@Zelda: Agreed. Mandatory is of course for staff to decide. I'm just backing Link up. I've edited mine as well out of courtesy.

I've added these fields to my original roster post, because y'know. You guys let us edit our roster how ever we want. (You guys must be thanking Christ. Editing rosters on CDBZ manually for any change got to be a hassle when I was only active staff.)

... I feel like this is a 'bottom up' sort of thing. If all members start doing this (including a section in their roster that states their source/background), then it'll catch on.

I mean, everyone has to include this when they join. It's just a matter of bugging people who don't include it in their official roster page to do so once they start roleplaying.

'Hey guy, where you from, can u put that sick source/background in your roster? Gracias.'
