Quote:The room had gone quiet. A feud between the two female parties had begun and Sage growing frustrated; which was unusual for her. Beatrix narrowed her eyes, her pink irises slowly starting to glow. Wisps of pink mist began to vent from her figure as she too readied her energy; her goal wasn't to scare the valium addict so much as to assert that she meant business as well. Unbeknownst to Sage the demonic female had only dismissed it for the sake of situation.

"Yes! That's why I'm upset!" Roared the valium addict. She was seething with confusion, which in turn was feeding her frustration.

Vad was watching his wife with intent. He knew why she was able to control the grief she had gone through. Three things; Experience, Love, and the desire to overcome it no matter the cost. James moved to offer his opinion, but Trixie quickly shut him up silently lest he make things worse.

"Don't tell her, Trix. This isn't the time or place to reveal that. Your past is not important at the moment. Your birth parents are not going to solve anything. Just let her be for the moment. Please." Ordered the Saiyan soldier, but with an easy tone.

Mistress Zulenka relaxed her energy and exhaled deeply in a long and relieved sigh. She felt her emotional state slightly crumble, her equilibrium being disrupted by old emotions. Vad took her hand and pulled her into his lap. A stream of silent tears flowed down the woman's cheeks. She lowered her head and rested it against her husband's neck, her red and black locks partially covering her distressed face. Sage was instantly calmed upon seeing the normally spunky female with tears in her eyes.

Vad stood up, his wife in arms. His pupils dilated and he lost himself in the stress of the situation; only this time he released it in a constructive way, so to speak. Starting with a low growl he tried to resist the urge to scream, but the adrenaline was already flowing and the anger swelled within him forcing his mind into a rushed state. His nerve endings became jumpy making it harder to restrain the urge to unleash his stress upon the room.

Endorphins raced throughout his body as he let out a war cry like scream that nearly deafened those in the room. Cain jumped in his skin, James covered his ears, Charles shot up from his cot, Trafford coughed upon inhaling on a cigarette, Sage flinched, and Shou covered his ears as well. A gentle kiss upon his cheek ended the rampage mid scream, almost as if her touch had a therapeutic calming. Trixie moved her hand to his right cheek and kissed him once again.

"Relax. We'll figure this out, and...and I'm fine. Just a mishap is all." The mistress said, her voice trembling slightly, but soothing all the same.

Sage began to tremble as well, a rush of guilt invading her consciousness. Letting his wife to her feet the Saiyan moved to the elevator. Pushing Trafford aside he pushed the button.

"What are you doing!?" Shouted Cain.

Beatrix stood looking at her husband, who had his back turned to her.

"I'm tired of this shit. If I'm going to die, I'm taking as many as those fuckers with me. I'm not sitting here holed up in a concrete prison waiting. It isn't my goal in life." The man retorted.

James turned to Trixie who was staring at her husband. He was now facing the room, his right arm holding the elevator door back; his gaze fixated on his wife's eyes.

"Stop him! Talk to him! Do something to keep him from going to his death!" Pleaded the retired assassin.

Doing exactly the opposite, she joined him in the elevator.

"We're going to distract them. Do whatever you need and good luck. We'll see you on the other side. Wherever that may be." Beatrix stated calmly.

Sage was in tears as the elevator door shut.

This is one of my favorite excerpts from a Saga in 2009 on another site where I wrote Vad. Magus' character Sage and me had rescued Vad's wife, Trixie, previously on Planet Frost home of Freeza's race and Sage couldn't understand why despite having been through that hell Trixie was able to operate as normal. The enemy was closing in and as a last ditch effort both Vad and his wife went to hold the line for as long as they could to give the rest of the Saga members a chance to survive. ((Note: Different Trixie.))
