I dispelled my fake fire. No use going down that route with an actual mage. But, at least I had an idea of some of his capabilities.
"Suicide pacts and fights to the death aren't my thing. I see no reason bluff my way through with that. Heck, for all I know you might take it in stride that you stalled two other to their deaths. Although, I believe you want to fight just as much as we do." I paused briefly, considering something. "That said, maybe this will sweeten the deal. If you have what we need, I'll part with it."
