Zone A -- Lowlands - Karl Jak - 06-14-2017

Overview of Region - “Zone A” is a somewhat hilly stretch of land at the northwestern region of the island.  There’s some small patches of trees spread throughout the area.  Subzones A5 and A6 comprise a large abandoned farm with a few buildings and some barren fields.  Subzones A1, A2, and A3 flood during high tide.  The Safe House can be seen from a while away, as it’s just smack dab in the middle of the landscape.

Currently it is... Low tide. Clear weather.

Note: This OP may be updated periodically with extra information or to reflect changes in the Subzone. I will make notifications when this happens.

Note: -- Everyone must roleplay returning to the Safe House at least once in a 24 IC time span (once every 4 OOC days).. The first timer starts to tick at 4:30 PM CDT on 6-14 and will expire at the end of the IC day (4:30 PM CDT on 6-18). Regardless of whether you visit the safehouse early or late, everyone's timer starts at the same time (if that doesn't make sense -- ask me)

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Larfleeze - 06-14-2017

Well, that was a quick start. Chakravartin perused his bag, drawing out the Syntech tablet. Should be easy enough to use.

His first priority should be to track down Bendy and Abyss, but...

It was a quest for specific objects as well, wasn't it? The notification on the drop in Zone A was at the safehouse. He decided to get a leg up on his comrades. He would find them with a head start in the competition itself.

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Larfleeze - 06-14-2017

The lowlands were pleasant, but Chakravartin found himself wishing that they had dropped him into a wooded area. The trees would have aided in his mobility quite a bit, but as it was, he was still fast enough that the hills passed by in a flash.

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Larfleeze - 06-14-2017

Ah, there, just ahead was what his syntech device was implying was some kind of safehouse. It was also the home of the first drop of Zone A.

He moved closer, briefly checking his Halo to see if anyone he had passed by in the pre-show arena was nearby. Bendy was close, but he could also see a man he hadn't had the occasion to run into yet, for he didn't appear on his Halo's scope.

The man had to have seen the notification as well, and Chakravartin grinned. A race, then?

He made a mad rush for the safehouse, passing the glasses-wearing man with a friendly wave.

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Larfleeze - 06-14-2017

Ah, here we were! Chakravartin strolled into the building, and glanced around him. No one here that he could tell... Now, to look for the drop. There wasn't much inside the bunker, except for the small box.

He grinned evilly, picking it up and sitting down in the corner, no one could attack him while he was in the bunker, he could open it at his leisure.

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Larfleeze - 06-14-2017

He opened the chest, frowning when all he got was a can of some kind of frosty-cold liquid. His first instinct was to drink it, but luckily, he wasn't an idiot.

Reading the label - huh, that's actually a really low calorie count for a beer. "Namek-Weiser." Chakravartin said to himself, raising a bushy eyebrow. The liquid came with instructions, in addition to the tongue-in-cheek nutritional information. (Why would he care whether or not any Nameks were harmed in the process of making it?)
Quote:Namek-weiser (Consumable) – Beverage. Halves the damage you would receive in a fight, win or lose. Must be drank during first fight post.
Now, that was something useful. He slipped the beverage into his bag, before taking a step out into the hilly landscape. He tensed as he looked around, waiting to see if anyone was waiting to ambush him as he left the safe zone, but there was no such interruption.

The man from before, with the glasses, was still standing among the hills in front of the bunker. Chakravartin smiled at him, "Too late, friend. I've already taken the prize inside." he began walking towards him, absently checking his Halo- Bendy was nearby-ish, the Prime with the glasses was directly in front of him... "Harry Potter." his Halo informed him, and off in the other direction was... "Sterling Archer."

Both humans, from what he could tell. Now... the question was, should he indulge himself now, or would he join up with his "Golden Alliance" first?

"Harry?" he asked, and when the man tensed, Chakravartin knew his Halo had given him the correct name, "Tell me, would you like to fight? It's a tournament, so of course I'm welcome to it, but I also have some... acquaintances with utility, that I have to meet up with." in a few moments, his Palace Hands peeled from his body, and began to idly orbit his body, ready to grab, hit, defend, claw, and throw, at a moment's notice.

"So, what do you say, human?"

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Katrielle Layton - 06-14-2017

Okay, Bendy needed to start searching. He paused for a moment, willing the pentacle to float above his head. Who would he locate first? Abyss would be easier to betray when the moment came, but... when the locator pointed away from the safehouse, the demon was hesitant. He kinda wanted to examine the bunker first, and when the distorted halo revealed that Kong was close to his destination, the decision was practically made for him. Slinging his pouch of supplies over his shoulder, he started making his way towards the Saru.

The sun beat down upon the imp as he trekked across the sea of grass. He glanced around, unimpressed at his surroundings. While this particular expanse of the island was relatively empty, and in turn, boring, it made it difficult for him to be caught off-guard because there wasn't anywhere for potential ambushers to hide. Plus it gave him a perfect view of the bunker. The little tablet that the officials had given him had indicated that an item was somewhere inside of it, but as he drew closer, the location of the item had been crossed out. Late to the punch, he figured. Given how close Kong had been to the pickup point, the cartoon believed that the god had been the one to seize it.

He'd get him for that later, but for now he just needed to find the man and figure out what to do next. Lucky for him, he could see the human-like member of the Golden Alliance out in the fields. He appeared to be talking to another human, although he couldn't discern the features of the stranger nor what they were discussing from this distance. He needed to get closer. Just a little further and he could join in whatever the Saru was up to. Maybe he wanted to fight the newcomer? Oh, that would be fun!

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Professor Sunshine - 06-14-2017

While Abyss was wandering throughout the Lowlands, she was checking out the other functions of the tablet while she was noticing that the weather around the hills were less warm than it was on the mountains, which she guessed was probably just because of a change of temperature. As she flipped through the options on the tablet, Abyss saw a watch app that was showing her the time of day, which she guessed she wouldn't need since she already had the timer on the bracer on her leg. While she checked the map for where the safehouse would be, she saw that she was still quite a bit distance away from where she would need to be.

"Sigh, looks like I still have quite a bit to go, maybe there is something on the internet that I can use while travelling so I don't die of boredom in these hills." As Abyss bumped up the internet functions of the tablet, she decided to test out the search engine a bit by looking up some survival tips. The results of the internet, unfortunately for Abyss were very widely spread and varied, with some tips saying to look for high points, while other tips were talking about avoiding extreme heat or cold while looking for food, something Abyss did not have to worry about since she brought both rations from the gear bag and pizza from the bar with her to the island.

After turning off the tablet, Abyss sighed a bit before looking at a nearby tree that was blooming, before climbing it to check if anyone was nearby. As she checked the horizon, she could still not see someone nearby, which disappointed Abyss since she was hoping that the other Golden Alliance members would be close by. "Ugh, when are Kong and Bendy going to be here? I was hoping that they would be out near me when we got on the island, but either they betrayed me or they're on the other side of the island.

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Katrielle Layton - 06-14-2017

It didn't take long for the demon to arrive. He raced along the ground, skidding to a stop next to the two Primes. Now that he was closer to the stranger, he saw that he wore glasses and had brown hair. Just as he suspected: a simple human. Maybe more, considering that Kong wasn't human at all if he was telling the truth.

"Howdy, Specs!" He waved at the newcomer, and after a moment, his tracker gave him a name: Harry Potter. Definitely an easier to pronounce name than Charmyvrutin Wuu Kong or whatever it was. He turned to the Saru with a grin. "Glad to see you here, Kong! What brought you here to Harry?"

"How do you both know my name?" Harry asked, adjusting his glasses in a nervous gesture.

In reply, the imp pointed at the unholy symbol floating above his head.

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Larfleeze - 06-14-2017

"Ah, there's Bendy!" Chakravartin said, spotting the inkblot in the distance. Looking to Harry Potter, he said "I suggest running, soon." dismissing the wizard, Chakravartin began walking towards the cartoon demon. A quick confirmation from his Halo assured him it was Bendy, and not some kind of shape shifter, and he broke out into a sprint. Keeping an eye on Harry Potter, should the man decide to challenge him for his newly-acquired super beer.

The distance wasn't too difficult, but with all the running through open fields, he was quickly beginning to tire of walking. As soon as the tournament ended, he would focus on finding some way to use Omnilium to give himself back flight. He hadn't properly understood the scale, earlier, which was foolish of him. Omni had promised, anything he desired could be obtained with enough Omnilium. If Chakravartin wanted to no longer dirty his feet with the ground everyone else walked, he would have to invest...

He wondered if there was some kind of Omnilium prize attached to the competition. There had to be, with the sheer number of Primes who had shown up. Humans didn't tend to have a deep passion for brawling for the sake of brawling.

As he already was focusing on his Vita Compass Halo, he decided to check up on Abyss once more- and she was certainly closer. Hopefully all of them would be able to meet up in- He grabbed the syntech device, and switched to the map -Subzone A10. If need be, it would be a simple matter to get back to the Safehouse in time for the end of the day. Archer Sterling and Harry Potter were both still in Zone A. With the three of them together, hunting the two of them down before the end of the day shouldn't be too difficult.

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Professor Sunshine - 06-14-2017

While Abyss was wandering through the hills while waiting for her friends to find her, she was continuing to search through the other options on her Syntech Tablet. Besides the Map, Watch, and Internet Apps, Abyss also saw that there was some sort of Island-17 App, but at the moment the app had no notifications, which made Abyss wonder what the app was supposed to do. There was also a Omni-Twitter App as well as a blog and YouTube app, but since Abyss knew that she could probably use the internet instead of accessing them via app, she didn't bother to activate the apps. Since Abyss couldn't find any other apps on the tablet, she turned the Map app back on and continued to look at it as she moved around the Lowlands.

After a bit of walking, Abyss decided to check up on the pizzas that she grabbed from the bar before she was sent to the island to see if they were still fresh, only to see that the pizzas were covered in flies and were inedible. As Abyss sighed, she realized that it was probably her fault for this since she left the bag open when she put the pizzas in there in the first place. "Ugh, I was planning on using this as either rations or bait, but now these are worthless!" Before continuing her walk, she let go the bag containing the pizzas, and continued to walk while carrying the bag that held her gear.

Eventually, Abyss could see Bendy in the far horizon standing with Chakravartin, and while Abyss was a bit mad that it took quite a bit longer for the two to find her, but at the least she could now finally see them. Unfortunately, it looked like Abyss still had a long way to go to interact with the two, since they were on different hills, but even though there was a hill separating the group, Abyss still tried to run on the way to unite with her teammates.

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Larfleeze - 06-14-2017

Only just realizing he had passed Bendy by, he turned back to the demon, who was intimidating the wizard and explaining his own Vita Compass Halo.

"Nothing exactly brought me to Harry, he was simply here before hand. I managed to snag the first drop from him though," Chakravartin said smugly, pulling the can from the pack, "It's just a beverage. Made of something called Namek, or inspired. Either way, it's supposed to increase your rate of regeneration."

The demon narrowed his eyes slightly, "What, you decided to go for the prize before joining the rest of the group?"

"I figured it would be best to multi-task." Chakravartin said with a shrug, before returning the drink to his pack. He then checked his Halo, "Besides, Abyss is quite close and making her way here. It shouldn't be more than a few hours."

"The second drop's already fell." Bendy said, "I take it you've already gone in the safehouse?"

"Indeed."

"Well, I'm gonna refresh my own death counter here, before we go out and look for it." he said, tapping the metallic ring given to each contestant, "Don't want to lose anything important, after all."

"Fine, fine." Chakravartin said, looking away from his companion and the wizard, noting Abyss making her way over the hills in A10. "Let's all get to the safe-house before we go scavenging. If someone else gets the thing in-"

"Area 13." Bendy supplied, having already checked the syntech tablet.

"-Area 13, we can always just kill them for it later. As a group."

"Sounds fun." Bendy said, his grin spreading evilly, "There hasn't been much action yet in our neck of the woods!"

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Professor Sunshine - 06-15-2017

After a couple of minutes of running, Abyss was finally able to get across the hill and reach Chakravartin, and as she stopped near him to catch her breath a bit, she was glad that she was able to somehow find the others, but she was somewhat mad that the other two were not able to find her for a bit. "Hey Kong and Bendy, it was a bit longer then I expected, but at the least we are together again. So either way I need to recharge my death counter at the safehouse, but first can you tell me what happened while you arrived up on the island."

As Abyss listened to what Chakravartin and Bendy had to say, she was somewhat surprised that both of them had a somewhat uneventful time before meeting up with each other. "Well, that's a shame. I thought you would have run into someone else on your way here, but at the least we are all together now." As Abyss was talking she checked the Island-17 App to see if anything happened yet to the app, and to her surprise there were now updates on the app of item drops, which she thought could be useful in helping her win.

"Hey, apparently there are some new items on the island guys! Maybe after I get in and out of the safehouse to reset this death counter me and Kong can head out to grab it while Bendy looks for any other person on the island to fight." After saying this, Abyss waited to hear the other's surprise, only to hear that they already knew of the item drops before her. "Oh, so you already knew... Well either way, after we can get the item, we should probably try to find that demon swordsman so we can try to kill him. I am still a bit nervous of him, but for now I think I got over most of my fear, seeing as I managed to meet someone far scarier than him right before we got here."

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Dust - 06-15-2017

http://omniverse-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=8359&pid=103880#pid103880

Dust stood at the edge of the clearing, mud and leaves covered his toes to calves, but he did not show nay sign of it bothering him. He re-adjusts the pack once more as he joined the other two in catching their breath. All three primes have traveled a great deal in such a short time, anyone would be out of breath, but he liked to think he panted a little softer than the other two. This trip showed him something about his allies as well as himself, they had impressive boosts to speed that he could not reach yet, but he could probably last a bit longer than them in a marathon race. But only by mere miles.

They weren't exhausted, but they were feeling the run in their lower legs, thighs, and calves. All three of them surfaced from the tree line with gentle steps, Takezo sheathing his weapon as he had no need for it at the moment, and he was more dangerous with it put away before battle. As he stepped into the clearing, as if he knew the two would immediately join him, held out a hand to stop them. In his silence, Dust read confidence and responsibility, even with the man's back to him. They respectfully waited until he ventured out far enough to make himself a target, as that was the plan.

Dust glanced at Dawn, grinning even through the sweat that poured down his face and every inch of exposed skin, which was a lot when you were in just the shorts you came here with. She was covered from head to toe in black, and while that was effective for working among the shadows in the high noon sun it would only a hindrance. She was probably drenched in her own sweat, it just hasn't seeped through the layers. She still held her tablet in her hand, and just shook her head dismissively at him before turning her eyes on the map in hand, heading in the direction she believed held the best advantage where she could best implement her own plan.

Without any real direction o this own, Dust followed. She didn't need his help getting up high and into position, but he offered his aid nevertheless. If she did allow him to be of purpose, it was simple and probably out of pity. He then began to search the area. His tablet at hand but of no real use. The screen was still opened to the message last sent island wide: "Hey, there's going to be a present waiting at Subzone A13 at high noon. Smooches." While this was greatly appreciative, it only offered enough help to get him here. He stuffed the tablet back in its own pocket and shrugged the bag back on his shoulder as he stopped where he was to consider where this thing would appear. In such a flat landed area, although the hills did roll across the landscape, he can't imagine there being too many places to hide among the trees.

While Takezo continued to be the distraction, as well as the baited chance Calamari was likely to snag, and Dawn aimed her gun carefully to cover the Demon Swordsman, Dust did most of the searching. Gun shots could be heard for miles in such a flat, treeless lands. So as he kept his senses about him, the contractor would turn over every rock, every hole in healthy or hollow tree, every inch of the underbrush, and even the tree limbs of his shaded cover to find whatever was supposed to be here.

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Karl Jak - 06-15-2017

End of Day 1 -- Phase 1

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Oleander - 06-15-2017

“Found it!” Dust’s call received Takezo’s attention and a grin. “Are we ready to –“ Takezo thrust a hand into the air to silence Dust. At first the man might have been offended, but this was out of character for the swordsman. Something was wrong. Both smiles had faded. The hand that had silenced Dust slowly drifted across the field, then upwards towards the floating coliseum.

“Miss Yuki has been culled to the arena…” His frown intensified. They were one man down now, and with the Golden Alliance so close. The frown turned upside down soon as he checked on the whereabouts of their enemy faction. “And so has Bushy-Brows.”

Dust’s grin was back too. “So you mean Calamari and Inky are alone?” The ink-demon did not appear to be a noble creature, and the squid-faced female had expressed herself as a poor warrior to frighten so easily. Dust and Takezo shared the look.

Takezo took the lead, as usual, and Dust was quick on his trail. They did not say it aloud, but it was clear what the plan was. Assault the Golden Alliance while it was at its weakest. They were little more than predators picking off the sickly of a herd. It was natural selection at its finest – their dear friend Karl Jak only helped it along.

That tune returned to the swordsman’s lips. He counted bodies to ten, talking of demons feasting and playing with the dead. It might be a bit stunning how he could recite the rhyme and keep breath at the same time, but he managed it. Giddy as a schoolgirl, he was itching to cut down the Calamari, and the ink-demon too, if it did not run off.

They move deeper into the lowlands. In the distance, he could see two bodies, one wrapped in a yellow attire, the other a stark white. They were close – and distracted. He gestured to Dust, so that the man watching his back noticed their goal in the distance. It was almost time to ruin the Golden Alliance, once and for all!

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Dust - 06-15-2017

Among the limbs of the trees in a bird's nest Dust finds something, and while he knew it was what he was looking for by touching it he was almost afraid to claim it was something of value. Looking like a mere fishing hook, Dust reluctantly pushed it in the pocket that held his needle and thread, piercing it through the fabric to keep it safe. Surely this was a joke, but since he found nothing else he had no other choice but to claim it.

Dust tilted his eyes to the sky to see what the older man was seeing, his words bringing Dust's teeth to grit together as he held back a defensive growl. The idea of Dawn fighting by herself did not settle very well in his gut, but he was confident in her ability because she had so much in herself. Then his friend explained that a member of the herd was missing as well, rather the flock's sheep dog was missing.

This visibly delighted Dust, and the two men needed no words. He leapt from the tree tops he'd climbed up to get his prize, and quickly fell in line behind the leader of their pack as they moved as one once more across the waves of the earth. He felt oddly in tuned with his wilder nature as his feet the grass against his bare feet. Just over another set of rolling hills they could see the closing in figures of the squid girl - this time on her feet instead of cowering in fear - and the cartoon character. He could smell victory on the wind.

If either of them were the least bit observant, Abyss would see her Demon Swordsman rising to her challenge, coming to her on his terms rather letting her make the calls. In tow, the beastly large man, looking like a wolf on the attack..

Full Assault(Dust/Takezo) Challenges Golden Alliance(Abyss/Bendy)

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Katrielle Layton - 06-15-2017

Alright, Abyss was here! Bendy was ecstatic at the squid's arrival, if only because it helped pad out their numbers. Finally, the Golden Alliance had been reunited!

...Except it wasn't; when the demon turned around to talk to Kong, he noticed that the Saru had vanished. "...The @$%#?" he asked, the swear word having been censored with the noise of a bicycle bell. Abyss was just as confused, although the weird sound left the Mobius boss ready to laugh. That was something the cartoon found unamusing. "Don't you dare," he said as he pinged his tracker. It pointed up at the floating coliseum in the sky, and then the imp realized what had happened.

"Mother@%&%$@ got sent up to the coliseum," he muttered, the censoring sound that of a trumpet. "That's bull!"

Abyss tapped on his shoulder. "Uh, Bendy?" She pointed at a pair of people in the distance, her beak clenched in fear. "It's the demon again."

"And he's got himself a friend, too..." he added, his fingers curled up into fists.

"Maybe we should leave?"

"No, look. They're looking up at the coliseum too. I think they lost a member as well. I have no idea how long that battle will last, so we should attack now, while we're still on even ground." He paused for a moment to let the decision sink in. "Otherwise we could try to leave and fight them when we're tired and possibly down a member."

"Better decide quickly, 'cause they're heading this way!" Indeed, the samurai and the barechested newcomer started making their way down the hill. Bendy's locator identified the one with the sword as "Shinmen," and the stranger as "Dust."

"I'll take on the demon if that makes you feel better. You handle the new guy." He planted his feet into the ground, his fists raised to his chest. "Let's do this."

RE: Zone A -- Lowlands - Dust - 06-15-2017

Something ran deeper in Dust and Takezo, something that genetics couldn't ever bridge between them, but ironically blood was a factor in their unison. While Takezo was more Demon than man, and Dust more man that Beast, they both carried war in their hearts; monsters in their souls.. The predators lowered their bodies as they raced for their prey, inside the promise of battle left them lighter than air, and the scent of blood in the air hardened their focus. Without speaking the two have become one machine, the powerful legs that have already ran so many miles carried them across the last few meters to their quarry. Dust's bulkier build was meant for power, but he managed to keep up with Takezo, or did the older man know the value of intimidation and merely bridled his blood lust just long enough to close the distance.

Bendy moved into position, clenching his fists, barking his orders for Abyss to prepare herself for the fight, promising to come between her and the Demon with the blade; A promise he would not be keeping today. Like two wolves that have hunted together all their lives, the two began to move into a confusing arrangement where Dust shot to the left and Takezo shot to the right, zig-zagging to confuse their enemies. But Bendy was a smart guy, as smart as any other guy; smarter than the average guy for sure, he'd fix them. But the black and white ink creature was doomed to fail because these too had their priorities, and he was second on the list. Takezo fell back behind Dust as if he was going to use him as a shield, a distraction for his first attack, but Bendy was obviously smarter than these fools! He prepared his first attack, a head on collision between him and the towering human would not be easy or fast, but he could take him buy surprise!

About 10 feet in front of Bendy the swordsman pulled away in a full dash, passing Bendy up for the delicious looking Calamari girl, which left Dust to him. So much for their hurried plans, but that changed nothing between Dust and himself! But a skillful jump over the cartoon character would. While Takezo closed the distance between Abyss, staring into her very soul with those same dark demonic eyes that had crippled her in the Dojo; the disturbingly dark glare she was not able to meet before, Dust's shadow flew across Bendy's form from 7 feet in the air. He seemed to hover, if only because of how fast the fight was already going, before gravity pulled him back to the ground and Abyss. All 230 pounds of his weight set to land on her in the ungraceful form of a raw tackle that threatened to fail but the double feint left Takezo free to cut her down..

It occurred to him mere moments before landing he should have a weapon. Now was the moment of truth! He tried to transform, but something inside clamped down on his form that left him with a headache and thick razor sharp claws that reach an inch off his finger tips, a slight pain in his mouth, and the one feeling he hoped he'd never experience again. It crept into his nervous system, a twinge of impulse that told him he may have escaped his life from before, but neither without power or the cost of that power.

Quote:Action: Dust jumps over Bendy to tackle Abyss after growing out his nails.

A Pup’s Claw:
Dust’s basic attack is partially transforming by elongating his nails. The nails become harder and black, growing out to only about an inch longer than normal. This happens over a matter of seconds, and lasts until he uses another ability.
-The cost for this is a simple kiss that lasts 3 seconds at least. (Done before, during, or after the fight.)
