The young boy had guts, there was little denying it, and the Sage nodded to himself as he studied the fire that Dane had summoned. It didn't appear particularly menacing, though he doubted the mage would display such aggression unless he was desperate enough to consider using it.
"I understand your logic, lad. However..." I gesture to his quite disfigured arm, "I do no sport the same level of injury as yourself and your companion." The Sage summoned a similar flame, cupping the infancy of a fireball in his hand, the flame hissing in the unabated rain. Odd that the lad's fire seemed unaffected...
"You will forgive me for saying that I do not feel overly concerned with my own abilities should this come to blows. You would do better to threaten the imminence of the collar detonation."
