Really, if you want to merge the elements together, it could just be seen as Aang pushing past what the avatars already could do by using elemental moves in tandem. Making that also follow Magicka's systems seems like you might be overcomplicating what you want, which - at it's core - seems to be combining and mixing the elements you have together to new effect. or at least that's how I see it.
