Dark Rain: Part Two
#3
Koal felt his smile twist into a sneer of grim satisfaction of his new armor. He held the fabric of his cape between his fingers, testing the weight and thickness of the material. Doom might have been a little odd, but damn did he know how to make armor. He looked like an absolute badass, ready to kick ass and take names. He looked over at his comrade, who had similarly new armor. He sported a long, forest colored cloak, the shadows of the hood concealing the metallic mask that lay within it's depths. Doom had been a valuable ally. Maybe even a friend at some points. But Koal was still a little wary. The power that The man wielded was potent and unpredictable. A force to be reckoned with.

He glanced around at the torchlit walls of Fort Cinderstone, his eyes looking in every shadow, every little crevice for a sign of a fight. He was positively vibrating, his body thrumming with negative energy. Doom seemed to pick up on the gathering of ethereal essence, because he kept looking sideways at Koal, as if trying to figure out a puzzle. The swordsman was pleased to see that it didn't seem to be working. The less Doom knew about him, the less he could use against him.

"The map says we're close to the main gates of the fort. After that, we could go one of two ways to the Nexus gate

"The first and most direct route would be the main pathway, but I'm not sure if that'd be the safest way. The second and most dangerous route is a system of tunnels leading near the Gate." He folded up the tattered map and tucked it within his cloak, his violet eyes regarding a thoughtful Doom.he held a hand up to Koal, signaling for them to stop waking. As their step slowed to a halt, the Doctor began to speak in slow, elegant tones.

"I believe that we can handle anything that we may encounter on the trail." He threw a confident, almost... proud smirk Koals way. He strode forward, taking in the main gate to the Fort. They were heavy stone doors, intricately carved with grotesque scenes of raids and burning villages. It was beautiful, in an insanely morbid way. Koal braces his armored hands against the doors and pushed, the gate opening slowly with a groaning protest.

"Take note, Mr. Lynch. This is the beginning of our empire." Doom exclaimed while walking out the doors. Koal took in the burning fields of the Ashen and smirked, following closely in The Doctors wake.
"...If the soul is left in darkness sins will be committed. The guilty one is not he who commits the sin, but he who causes the darkness.”
