This is something that got me salty rather than being seriously bad, as most posts in this thread, but anyway! Three short stories for you guys.

Godmoddery. I'm annoyed as all hell at this... some of you guys may remember Alexyana, the dragoness I originally joined OV with. For those who don't: in short, Alexyana is a bipedal dragoness, a fair bit taller than the average human and with brutal physical strength and endurance but slow - in OV terms, she would probably be 6/5/0/2 or some such.

Anycase, I was playing in a live-chat group channel when I got challenged for a bounty Yana had on her head. Sure, no problem. My enemy was an orc named Krod with about 30 weapons which he apparently carries all on his person. A very combat-oriented character, and apparently very annoyed at godmodders: he linked to a website explaining godmodding in great detail. Even privately sent me the link before we started our fight. Okay...?
So we fight, on the roadside near a forest. I get that Krod is a strong orc, but he blocks my attacks without fail (this is okay, he's faster than me) and without his weapons taking a scratch. He gets a few counter blows in, that's okay, but after I have allowed him to hit me several times for "free" as I tear out a massive rock and smash it down on him, he still blocks it with a katana, and it's unscratched still? After taking a half-ton boulder head-on, he is only pushed back a little?
So, I change tactics. Alexyana disappears into the forest, rips a few trees down to block his path and climbs a cliff. He stays right on her tail, cutting those trees down without even slowing his step and following her up the cliff. At this point I argue that Krod wouldn't be able to just cut a tree or even follow Yana this fast when he's carrying a small army's worth of weaponry around. He agrees, and promptly breaks out a weapon that was never mentioned: a lit lantern. With it he lights the entire forest with a "controlled fire" to burn it down, except of course for himself because apparently he's just that good with controlling the spread. Then he tells me that it's to take away my hiding spot. And if I didn't run I would burn.
The entire forest. Burnt down. To weed out one wanted character. Whose bounty is a handful of gold coins? And when exactly did he miss that my character is a firedragon? I decided "fuck it", and let Yana step through the flames, feeding on the heat to turn that puny orc into a pile of ashes. Guess who breaks out an "anti-magic" shield that wasn't on his profile to block those flames? I called him out on it and he said "Yeah, I did it only cause you're godmodding." For god's sake.

Second story, happened in the same room actually but with someone else. I was Yana still, meeting some battle-trained human with "ceramite" armor who wanted to fight me for no reason. He had no weapons, no magic, so I thought he was at quite a disadvantage and I wouldn't play Alexyana to her full strength. Big mistake.
While explaining that his armor strengthens his punches and kicks he took to kung-fu'ing Alexyana, punching against rock-hard scales and going for her eyes. Her eyes. Of a dragon standing almost a meter (~3ft) taller than him. Of course, her flame breath and claws leave no mark on the ceramite armor. Then he "sweep-kicks" Alexyana's legs away from under her, and takes a punch for it. A ceramite plate on his chest breaks, but his armor apparently takes the full hit, leaving him completely unharmed. Against the punch of a dragon who could lift four people his size with one hand.
But the kicker? He then takes Alexyana into a headlock while she's down, and whatever I do is apparently not working: if I push, his forearm blocks my air. If I pull, his back arm pushes my neck forward, into his forearm. So, Alexyana grabs his right arm and pulls on it. But it leaves him unharmed because of his armor.
I cut the fight short by having Alexyana pass out saying I wasn't going to deal with this shit, and had a pair of NPC guards in the area approach him if he tried anything funny. Yana had no bounty or anything, but seeing how it was a mature group, he may just have decided to... you know. Privately he told me that I'm the first person to have managed to break through his armor. This is a guy that fights almost daily. Gee, I wonder why?
The kicker? Two days later I meet him and he asks me how I plan on paying him back for that ceramite plate I broke. I asked him how he planned to compensate Alexyana for needing a hospital stay after he damaged her brain by choking her.

Last story, this one I find hilarious. I decided to try something different, playing a ridiculously underpowered character in that same room. A wraith as durable as a wet paper towel and long casting times. My first (and only) opponent, someone known for playing a fairly strong character, lets her have the first strike. How nice. I summon a skeleton dog familiar, taking 2 minutes, and send it after my opponent. This dog, as noted on my profile, is as fragile as its summoner: one good hit would destroy it. It's also slower than a regular dog.
He dodges the first bite and goes for me. I have the dog run after him, biting at his ankles. He responds saying that the dog clamps down, makes him scream with pain and barely able to advance. I noted that it's a skeleton dog, that it wouldn't weigh more than 6-7kg. Nothing that would slow him down. Regardless, he goes after my character who just backpedals while attempting to summon a second familiar.
I never got a reply. He disconnected out of the blue and I left the channel shortly after, for unrelated issues.

And that's the story how my wet-paper-towel Wraith won harder than my brutally-strong firedragon.

This is why I don't parcitipate in much pvp combat in the irc channel I've been rping at for the past eleven years. Not everyone will god mod but for those that do, I take note to avoid them. Fortunately the OPs are good at bringing things in order when it doesn't make any IC sense.

Plus there's a dice and level custom bot system or peps just free form, which is cool for people who have vast differences in their levels. But I do know your pain, sucks that it happens from time to time.

Slight follow up from yesterday...

A mutual friend noticed my likely former buddies girlfriend's harsh words and messaged me saying he's going to throw a little gathering this Thursday so we all can meet up and see where things stand. I told him I don't really need a mediator because I'm not upset, and don't plan on listening to any illogical fucked up excuses of, 'Oh she was just in a really bad mood because a coworker she doesn't like showed up' or his go to for her behavior and attitude, 'she just doesn't feel good.'.

Also, struggling to get back into rping and writing is difficult but fun as heck. I've deleted probably four pages of content and started over since waking up this morning...yeah it's good to be back.
