"Have you ever seen Nora eat?" Ruby asked with an intense look, and I had to admit - She had a point. Weiss thought about making some response, like "Nora also uses a giant hammer", or "Nora's insanity feeds on her extra calories" - But for once, Weiss figured she'd stop telling her fearless leader what to do and join her in giggling at the question like a five year old instead.
Weiss and Ruby continued to laugh at the question until a slight nudge brought them back down to earth - to her surprise, the guy they’d just bought Ice cream from handed her a little vanilla cone. Weiss opened her mouth to thank the guy, but a gentle smile and a simple gesture silenced her, and she chose to just smile instead. They ate in silence for a little while afterwards, as they walked down the town's boardwalk. Weiss breathed in with a smile, as she held up her ice cream to block the sun from her face.
The little area they found themselves walking through was a quaint, beachside area - There were a bunch of little stands, all made out of wood and canvas, and selling a bunch of different items that Weiss assumed were catered to tourists. Judging the Omnilium price for a T-shirt was the same amount she could have gotten a feast at the carnival for, she guessed they weren't catering to the smart tourists.
“Hey, Weiss~.” Ruby called sweetly, leaning on her shoulder. Weiss was immediately on her guard, as she saw the sinister grin on the girl’s impish little face.
“What’s that look, Ruby Rose?” Weiss asked with an impassive look. To handle Ruby, one had to learn a steadfast resolve, not giving an inch to her constant little pranks and poking. It wouldn’t stop her in the slightest, but at least you could feel like you didn’t contribute to it.
Ruby didn’t actually answer Weiss with a sentence though. Instead, she grabbed the young heiress by the hand and pulled as hard as she could, running.
“H-hey! Can you go one minute without dragging me off somewhere! Or into something!” Weiss complained, as Ruby dragged her across half the boardwalk at what felt like mach 1. At some point, Weiss had dropped her ice cream, and the drenched huntress just thanked her lucky stars that it seemed like it had dropped somewhere on the boardwalk, rather than on her soaked dress. “Where - are - you - dragging - me?”
Ruby just smiled back, an impish grin on her face as Weiss realized they were in front of a little black booth of some sort. “We’re getting photos!”
---------------------
Weiss raised her eyebrows. “You want to pay to get some bad-quality photos in a booth? You know we both have our scrolls, right? We don’t need to get photos from some-” Weiss was cut off by a hand pulling her through the curtains, and something in her clicked that no, Ruby was not making this request optional.
“I already put in the rainbow stuff, Weiss. No use complaining about it now. We get a whole bundle of photos together this way!” Ruby said with a smile. “Let’s do a grumpy one first.” her scarlet-haired partner said with a grin.
Well, this one was easy. Weiss swore she almost hit her head on the stupid top of the booth when Ruby pulled her in, so she channeled all that into a displeased glare, which Ruby followed suit with, glaring with her cheeks puffed out.
Okay, maybe this one wasn’t so easy. It took every ounce of willpower the Ivory-haired huntress had not to break out in laughter as she saw her partner’s face. Ruby Rose could do a lot of things. Look scary on command? No. Look adorable in the attempt? Maybe.
As soon as the “click” Sound from the booth sounded, Ruby broke into a grin. “Okay, happy face for this one!”
And on it went, with Ruby specifying one pose or another for what felt like a hundred photos. Weiss wasn’t sure she’d even shown all those emotions on her face until she’d been asked to, though given how specific Ruby was getting one of these…
“Okay, now make a face like you just saw Jaune eating a gigantic booger!”
“Okay, for this one pretend that you just found out that Nora had the power to turn people into pancakes!”
“Alright, now make a face like you just saw the end of ‘Bad dudes with attitude 4’”
“Ruby, I’ve never seen that movie...”
“What?!”
Ruby’s face actually teared up a bit as she realized that Weiss had never seen the movie, her face utterly crestfallen. Over “Bad dudes with Attitude 4.”.
Weiss couldn’t help but laugh in response, giggling right in Ruby’s face, and pretty soon, Ruby ended up laughing too, both of them leaning on each other just to stop themselves from falling over, even as the camera clicked and took the last photo.
--------------------
“So, um, Let’s see…” Ruby said with a squint. “There’s the restaurant with the palm trees and the outdoors-y area… or there’s about eight or so fish-and-chip stands. And a noodle bar!”
Weiss slumped. “Let’s go to the one with the palm trees…” She said dejectedly. Given the price-tag they’d seen on the menu outside of the pink-and-black building, Weiss had figured out this was a restaurant that valued a burger as more Omnilium than most people might value a house! Of course, Weiss and Ruby definitely had more than enough to get in and eat, but it was the principle of the thing!
“We could always just wait and find a place somewhere else, Weiss.” Ruby added, but Weiss shook her hand in her face at that statement.
“Too hungry. I’d like to eat something nice and cooked that I didn’t have to find.” Weiss grumbled. Her stomach groaned loudly in agreement, and Ruby took a step back as she observed Weiss’s stomach with awe at the admittedly loud sound her stomach made.
Ruby smirked as she tried hard not to giggle. “We’ll get an appetizer.”
