Hokay, so I'll go with a near enough complete run down of a smoke grenade.

Much the same as a regular grenade, a smoke grenade has a pin, rather than an external fuse (that would make it a smoke bomb, not quite the same). They're cylindrical and hold a certain amount of smoke composition. The smoke composition ignites and let's off a large amount of smoke. You'll need to figure the radius out for yourself, it depends on how strong or weak you want it.

To make the move as realistic as possible, that's about as much of a description you'll need. Unpin, throw and after a certain amount of time it'll erupt into a pillar of smoke, or a smoke screen.
