I'm inside a mechanical comet. I did not expect this. AT ALL. If nothing else, it's original. Settling into the seat to the right, Eric guided the strap across his body, and secured it on the other side, where it locked into place. The seat was surprisingly comfortable. They looked to be made of rough leather, but was a cozy as a chair in a metal comet could get. Jams closed the hatch, and entered the seat nearest to the controls. These were quite simple, not much more than two brakes, a wheel, and a few knobs, switches, and dials. After an initial lurch, the ride became quite smooth, almost as if they weren't even moving. That is, until Jams managed to ram it straight into the ground.
"What happened?"Eric asked. "Did we hit something? Jams muttered something about going over a speed limit. "This thing has a speed limit? Didn't seem like it was having any trouble. Weird. Anyways, we don't need to go that fast. We're already almost there." Pointing, Eric indicated a gate in the distance, which no longer was merely a speck on the horizon, but now had easily distinguishable features.
