Proto may overrule me on this, but I'm going to say no. Secondaries cannot possess artefacts, so you wouldn't be able to have a secondary complete the quest in your Prime's stead. 

You could have them 'attempt' the quest, if you so desire, but that would purely be RP fodder and the character wouldn't be able to obtain the artefact.

So would that mean a secondary could find it and report to your Prime or something along those lines? I would suppose not? And then what about a secondary accompanied by a Prime if not the first?

Well, if you want, you can have a secondary assist a Prime in his search for the artefact. But again, that would just be RP fodder. A Prime would still have to search for it themselves (or be involved in the search, I guess) and it would still be the Prime who would obtain the artefact.

How would approaching the quests and writing them with a partner effect the word requirement ?

I'm going to leave this question to Proto, since I'm uncertain if he had some sort of compensation in mind for partners who don't get the artefact.
