So to fix a simple issue here...
#5
What Sasuke said is correct. Deleting a violating post and PMing it back to the author for editing is standard procedure. There is no conspiracy theory to be had here, so you can safely put away your tin foil hat. :tinfoil: Tongue

More seriously, from what I can tell, the issue seems to be that you mistook personal correspondence as official approval. Here's the thing you have to understand. Even if we presume that all your assumptions are correct (though I think it's worth remembering what happens when you assume Tongue ), it wouldn't change the fact that you hadn't submitted the NPC for approval (until recently, at least) and that you had used him without permission.

All NPCs have to be submitted for approval in the Submit an NPC thread and an admin needs to post their approval in that same thread. Even if Proto or Omni were to give you their blessing to do something in a private conversation, that still wouldn't mean that you could just skip the usual process. Ultimately, an approval outside the forum itself doesn't count for much; no matter who they are, everyone has to follow standard procedure (and one of the reasons for this is precisely to avoid ambiguity).

As for your point about edits, I'm afraid that what you're proposing isn't an acceptable solution. Simply changing the name wouldn't magically turn him into a different character. It would just render him a carbon copy.

In any case, since you've already written Gollum out of the story, as long as you refrain from using him, then this matter is settled. We'll see if Gollum can be set up to be a Site NPC.
