Well, now that you mention this, Guu...
I gotta say, since this is all still completely new to me, ever since this whole base assault thing started up, I figured it was just gonna be another chapter in poor ol' Shay's story, something to remember considering the game's rules and the general quality of my opposition's writing, there's barely a chance we'd come out alive IC. I joined NB because it seemed to fit Shay, but after a while, I made some really great friends who found themselves in the faction as well, Mami and Victor being a definite factor into why I wanted to make this place home for 'im.
Then, all the metagaming came into play, and I assumed it was for good enough reason, since the immediate logic was "setting up our defenses," but there was a lot of times I kinda figured everybody was deliberately trying to screw each other over OOC as well. Artefacts came into play, people kept jumping in and out for various reasons, people got quite tense in the discussion thread, and I couldn't help but watch because that's all I could really do without making it worse.
Surely, it wouldn't get too terribly bad, I know we'd never stoop that low, but knowing now there's even the slightest bit of reason for people to burst out OOC within the community is kind of a scary thought, especially with how we've been in the past...
Please, do know I love y'all to bits, partly because this website you all contribute to has gotten me so much better at the thing I like to do for fun, writing. But most importantly, the reason why I stayed, is because you all loved me back, no matter which word you want to use for it, or however way you did it. I just hope you all can do the same for others.
For that, please... Let's use our words for good, not the bad!
