Omni’s introduction isn’t actually posted in the forums. Before the move to myBB it was located in the Rules section. We’re working on getting that up and running again, sorry about that! Here’s the text, more or less: 

“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”


Omni hands you a glimmering orb in which all the colors of the rainbow coalesce. “This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.


“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.


“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

I am guessing now that the sent box and trash are now included in the message total for PM's? On the old site I was only 30% full (inbox, my sent messages seemed to not count towards this total) but when we switched over I got an email saying I was overfilled and also that someone had tried to PM me.


The only way to get rid of this was to clear out the sent message folder and the trash can. Is this going to be a thing from now on with the new system? Just asking so I can keep track of my inbox better.

Yes, that seems to be the case. If some way of expanding/changing this is found, Omni/Proto will post in the Update thread.

My question was to ask someone to clarify that using the brackets / formatting of that kind are not allowed (in excess) so no italics or holds? I'm a bit confused.

Bold and italics are bbcode formatting, so yes, they are not allowed in excess.

Omni has actually clarified here that bold, italics, underline and strikethrough are all permissible. The excessive formatting we’re concerned with is changing fonts, colors, size, etc.

How many characters in the "post title" before they trail off into "...." ?

As far as I can tell, they don't -- I saved a new thread in drafts and it never trailed off into an ellipses (I don't know whether or not this would change if I were to actually post it); it did, however, allow no more than 85 characters in the title.

This is true. If you’re referring to the titles as seen from the front page, however, the cut-off appears to be 25 characters.

Can a person complete several quests in one thread?


If so, does the required word count go over to the higher minimum (say 6,000 is the minimum of one and 4,000 the minimum of another, then 6,000 is the minimum you must write), or do they have to write a combined minimum (using the last example, 6,000 + 4,000 = 10,000 minimum), perhaps not overriding the higher maximum (say 9,000 is the highest maximum of words required, it would take precedence over 10,000; ie, 9,000 at the very least, not 10,000), or is it all something else entirely?


Also, is it okay to fail quests in-character (such as the character ending up helping the criminal commit crimes instead of capturing them as they should have been doing) as well as out-of-character (you absolutely cannot produce the muse to write it any longer)?


It is also all right to simply reference quests but not actually participate or at least attempt to complete them?

I’m going to say that unless I’m overruled, you can only do a single quest at a time. As for failing them, I don’t see why not. Bear in mind though that if you decided to assist a criminal element you’re susceptible to having a bounty placed on your head by the opposition (The Empire, for example). And yeah quitting it by just deciding to have your character walk away is fine and wouldn’t have a penalty at all.

By reference a quest, do you mean mention someone asking for help with a quest and you turning them down? If so, that’s fine.
