Heh. Funnily enough, that thread was actually part of the reason I've been considering Stormtroopers to be some of the weakest Secondaries. Specifically, this section of Proto's first post in it:

I was assuming that the "more than enough Secondaries" referred to the likes of the Space Marines, whilst the Stormtroopers were, as Adam said, about as powerful as a Tier 1 assist (admittedly, he used that as a minimum guideline for their strength); meaning that I was thinking they couldn't have had more than 2 ATK or DEF. Maybe 3, at the very best.

But yeah, point taken. I'll try my best not to slaughter entire mobs of stormtroopers.

Yeah. The misleading thing is that the people who tend to kill them are Dredd and his Marines, not the stormtroopers themselves. If they're really each half as tough as a level 1 Prime then surely they'd only need, like, three or four guys to take one out, and they usually have a lot more than that. The fact that the Storyteller tends to have them call for backup rather than deal with it themselves just appears to confirm that they are indeed weaklings, y'know?

They were portrayed as incompetent or inaccurate in the movies because of the age-old necessity of the bad guys needing to lose.

It doesn't matter why they were portrayed the way they were. The expanded universe may not be cannon (which is a pity for them, since the non-sith imperial forces were actually halfway competent in some of those stories) but the movies sure as hell are. You can say that they have the best training all you want, but all that means is that the Empire had some really dreadful trainers.

That said, I can understand them being amongst the best in the galaxy. Greedo managed to miss Han by a huge margin despite the fact that he was literally sitting a couple feet in front of him. Clearly, decent aim is a rare thing in that reality.

Regardless of how they work in the Omniverse, in their home universe, the stormtroopers are inept.

To be honest at this point I think we need Proto or Omni intervention.
