The storm troopers you see in the nexus would be strong enough to handle any fresh prime.

Except when they aren't. Which is most of the time.
Last I checked, almost half the people on the bounty list got there after killing or at least beating up some stormtroopers...

It's fine to say that the likes of the Marines and Dredd are capable of taking down Primes, but unless you're retconning out a whole bunch of what's been written on the site already, then you can't really make out the stormtroopers to be anything close to that level.

And honestly, I don't see why you'd want to; it's not like the movies portrayed them as being particularly useful in a fight, after all. Did any of them manage to land a single shot on target? At most, those guys have 1 TEC.

So, my question is: are you sure about that?

and most of those who did it in a ridiculous manner get razzed for it.
And others did it, not by just overpowering the stormtroopers in a dash of overpowering force, but by intelligent use of moves and environment. like you would have to with opponents your physical equal.
The main divide between a prime and a stomtrooper is that their moves are a lot more constrained. Frag grenade + Blastech E-11 until you get to specialized squads.
