Also, staff will be grading them anyway because of the participation bonus, it's just another step they would take, adding a faction grade/exp.
What do you think of this proposal to minimize the workload of staffers:
Thaal Sinestro Wrote:I sort of just figured that having a more word # based system of earning FacXP would make it easier for both staffers and the groups to keep track of, as the staff already has a sort of tough time keeping up with quests and etc. It also gives the players a more reliable way of knowing how much they'll get. Take a look at the Bonus Request topic if you're unconvinced about how those things can stack up, haha. If a PC can go "We have X many players, and the minimum post length was Y, this is how many FXP we get," then they can even track it themselves, like we do with our purchases and etc. The only time the staffers would need to get involved would be to audit now and then (or if something seemed fishy).
I get where you are coming from, but you have to realize that any thread with multiple players in it qualifies for the bonus request, so any faction based thread will be getting submitted there anyway. Even if we created a whole new auto system, that thread would still need grading for the multiple participation grade. So, making a new system won't alleviate any work load for the staff.
So, in retrospect it's not adding to the workload, it's just adding a step to the grading process.
Recap: this idea allows for factions to submit faction based threads for grading in order to lvl up so that they may unlock the ability to offer different amounts of om as faction quest rewards per lvl. Also at some really high level the faction could take on a quest that rewards the faction an Essence of Omni. (Artifact of their choosing)
Edit: I am all for having the Faction/Verse-- Influence/Recognition discussion, but I feel that they are two separate ideas. Lvls and Influence. Not one or the other.
