Valkyrie!

Kanda is the stereotypical "stoic mysterious hot guy" like Sasuke: he's cold, distanced, somewhat arrogant and determined. In a school setting those guys are also the ones with straight A+'s everywhere and with a fanclub dedicated to them, but they're not interested. On top of that, Kanda isn't the type of person to help the weak ones out: he's the kind of guy that wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice a few to the greater good, or to leave behind someone that slows him. And he's easily irritated, and quick to draw his sword if that happens. It's a bit brutal to be listing up all those things, right? Well yes, but what it boils down to is that there aren't many parties that would go well with the Akuma hunter that we all like.
Except for Valkyrie.
Kanda would not hesitate for a second to cut down any monster with a hint of evil, even if it's a monstergirl, and he wouldn't pay a shred of attention to a peace-loving angel that can't hold a sword the right way around. In a much similar way to Samus Aran, he needs someone strong and honorable. Someone who won't hold him back in battle and who won't hesitate to purify evil by any means necessary. That is where Valkyrie comes in. An angel-warrior of sorts, she is noble, righteous and valorous, and her holy mission lines up with Kanda's line of work. She seeks out individuals of great power and potential and helps them develop those skills to become grand heroes. Kanda might of course take this as an insult initially - is Valkyrie saying that he needs her help?! - but if he draws his sword against her she won't be very impressed. She is more than strong enough to keep up with him and noble enough to not tease or irritate him. At the very least, she'd be a good partner in battle.
The question is whether or not this would evolve from a "partners in battle" relationship to something more. Valkyrie will most certainly like Kanda, but will he warm up to her as well? Maybe. But does love really have to be hugging and kissing, marrying and growing old together? Kanda doesn't seem like the kind of guy to love anyone that way, and Valkyrie knows that. A respectful handshake and a wordless smile in her direction is all she needs to know that she has a special place in his heart.
