This was hard, y’all. Summer is such a special time here and this is such a special time for me being back freshly and I’m feeling some type of way about all of you. What a nice, talented crop of people we have.
‘Best’ Character – Gonna have to give this to Yuuka Kazami. Very close race between Yuuka, Gilgamesh, Bandit, and Kerrigan, but at the end of the day the winning factors were just how intrigued I was by this character’s endgame combined with the fact that I admittedly didn’t really know their stuff before. She’s delightfully morbid to read and is putting out some lowkey great stuff in DA.
‘Best’ Writer – Whirda. The way he and Yuuka (also on my short list for this) weaves a comedic tale with characters who don’t necessarily lend themselves to comedy, and in fact are the antithesis of it, in at least one case, is awesome. Also very impressed by Gilgamesh, Luci, Kerrigan, Eternity, Trixie, and so many more this month. Everyone is fucking epic.
Most Helpful – Luci. Whether on the bonuses, helping out in general, or in doing good work to flesh out the verses AND include newer characters in her work, Luci’s grabbed my attention as a staff member who is really working to make the community a better place and she’s been on top of it.
Rising Star – Talos Quinn. The little stuff of this guy’s I’ve gotten to read so far has been really solid. Tyson’s up here as well if only for trying so hard to really engage with stuff.
'Best' Story – Panic at the Disco (Trixie and 17)
I’ve said this before in the chat but if you aren’t following the Trixie/17 drama Joe and Alex are writing up, you’re missing out on (maybe) the best ongoing storyline in the entire Omniverse. I’d feel bad voting for them every month even though it can be argued they deserve it, so for now it’ll suffice to recognize this great climax point. Led by Joe’s incredible portrayal of Trixie, he and Alex make this the most tightly written engaging thriller threads I’ve read in a WHILE.
'Best' NPC – Gonna abstain from this one for now.
Purple Ribbon - Wyatt (Gilgamesh/Atelos/The Hunter). Got qualities of literally every single accolade above mixed into him — a helpful staff member with several engaging characters, all written well, with NPCs (Junior!) and stories that are epic. Lowkey shout out to Daniel also.
”Best” Team Player - Sarah Kerrigan. Just one of my truly fave people and it’s because they are such a positive presence, never getting into any unsavory business in the chats or anything and always there with an interesting conversation or comforting word. Stellar person, shout outs also to Ricter and Eternity Larva in this category.
