Just passing through
#4
Seika used the alleys to her advantage. She noticed that the building next to her was an abandoned storage facility and cut through the rows of storage units. She decided what she really needed to do was change the game plan for them. They were prepared for her here on the surface, but she was willing to bet they were not as ready for chasing her into the sewers of the city. It was high risk to try and use the sewers to hide and travel. If they figured it out early enough they could cut her off from both sides and she'd be forced to attack people directly which she did not want to do. But she needed to try something, so she moved out from the storage units onto the street and looked for the opening to the sewer she needed.

The sewers were dark and quiet. Seika made her way by the light of her own barrier on her forehead and the lights to the outside from other storm drains along the way. She held out one gauntlet and made a bright square barrier around it to light her way better and began to sprint down the sewers, her feet splashing in the water from a storm that must have been recent. If she wasn't spotted by the army going in here she could follow the path for quite a while but she couldn't take that chance of getting cut off so her plan was only to follow it for a few minutes which at her speed was still quite the distance. If they didn't catch her dipping into here she could be outside their expected search zone, but even then she would have to be careful of spotters.

Things did not go as planned down in that dank sewer, but it wasn't her current enemy that made her pause. As she pushed along the featureless space she felt an all too familiar presence at this inopportune time. Seika felt that a witch was born just now somewhere on the surface off of the path of her underground route. Despite everything that was going on, Seika still felt a need to go after this witch. The fight was something she believed in even if Kyuubey was behind it. There was some logic to his plan to fight the heat death of the universe and stopping witches could save the innocent which behind Seika's logical exterior spoke to her idealistic heart, though she knew how foolhardy it was to trust idealism. She could also use the grief seed as her stockpile was dangerously low from the fighting and avoiding the military. She always come up with some kind of excuse to do the good thing her heart wanted, often without even realizing it. It was also a plus that the mundane people could not sense the witch's labyrinth. While normal people and their guns could manage to deal with a magical girl, they had a weakness to exploit. The witch inside did not and her familiars are usually numerous and unrelenting. Some witches would be easier than others but many could attack huge areas and wipe out armies when a magical girl could take that kind of attack or dodge it.

So, Seika started moving towards the feeling of the witch. This was still an unanswered question though, how did a witch form in a city with no magical girls? Seika knew that they were normally formed out of magical girls falling into despair or familiars escaped from other witches after eating a bunch of people. They would even eventually reform if a grief seed was used and then discarded. Normally they were given to Kyuubey who ate the seed. Perhaps there was a simpler answer that one of the magical girls that was here before had stashed her unused grief seeds and they had come from that.Since the start of being a magical girl though there always seemed like there was an abundance of them appearing in random locations and while lost familiars did turn into witches, she had seen it once before, Seika herself has never fought the same witch twice. There was no more time to think of this now as she jumped up through one of the storm drains to exit onto the streets. She landed and quickly jumped forward multiple times before going to running again. Fortunately so far her plan to avoid the army seemed to be working so she probably cleared past the area they were currently looking for her in and it takes time to clear a wide area.

Ahead she could see the shimmer of a hidden labyrinth, so she slowed to a stop at the entrance. if she burst in Seika could easily attract unwanted attention from the witch and bring the familiars running right to her to start fighting depending on the nature of the witch. Some witches and their familiars were not even hostile until provoked but there was no way to tell until you walked up to them and then they could be triggered by some otherwise innocuous action. She put one hand up to the shimmer and a magical circle appeared at her hand on the labyrinth. With this she could carefully slip into the labyrinth, it was a trick any experienced magical girl could learn eventually just like healing. So she focused and the black circle shifted to the color blue and then into a blue portal inside. Seika stepped forward and then everything faded away and turned to white.

Elsewhere, the Dean of Evil Acadamey was preparing to head out. After his defeat at the hands of three troublesome primes he was hunting in the Tangled Greens, he had sped himself back to his base of operations. Fortunately this was an easy task as he pulled out his recall pad and in a burst of light he re-appeared at the teleportation pad in his hidden secret base in the Pale Moors. He had his minions heal his wounds with healing magic and then rested for the night while he contemplated his new situation. In the morning he ordered his ninjas to regroup and prepare to move out. Meanwhile he checked in on his experiments. The Hollows he had used were too weak to be worth anything. It was time to step it up a notch despite the risks. "You, get some of the Prinnies and throw them into the Hollowization room! Maybe human souls we know are full of evil will work better than animal-men." The wood Golem that was standing there nodded. "Yes Master Mao." "And make sure the Hollows don't escape! I'm going out again." "Yes Master Mao." It would be just his luck if the new Hollows created this way broke through and ransacked the place, but some of his best minions were always here on guard duty.

Mao made his way out of his base and out into the dark and mysterious Pale Moors. He had a well hidden base, especially as he was not on any terms with the local overlord Dracula. The entrance to his base behind him was protected by a patch of particularly think brush that was a very common feature in the untamed wetlands. As a Prime he could easily touch up the outside where even the best cleanup crew would leave traces of unusual activity if you knew what to look for. Omnillium allowed him to get almost any component he wanted and this also allowed him to reconstruct the landscape as if it was brand new and by breaking down and rebuilding it he didn't need to spend any precious OM in the process. He also didn't need logstical support by making deals with the locals for food and supplies as he could use omnilium to summon in any amount he desired though at times this was an annoyance. Sometimes it felt like he was more of a vending machine supplying food to his minions when they should be doing the work for him but only Primes could manipulate Omnilium.

Mao's three remaining ninja appeared suddenly in puffs of smoke next to him. "Let's get going, I want to track down those two demon girls we met in the forest again. Their blogs should make this easy for us so I won't take failure this time! I'm going up front this time to make sure the job gets done right." The ninjas nodded obediantly, demon ninjas were particularly well known for their loyalty to their master. When Mao got to the Omniverse, he knew he had to get some of them as henchmen as the could usually be trusted with the more secretive tasks. They would sooner kill themselves than betray their master. That delinquent Raspberyl had shown Mao just how useful they could be, evne to someone that shows up on time, even early, to class at the academy. "Yes Master Mao." "Good. I want those two as subjects in my Hollow tests. Yes, we can perfect Hollowization technique! *Huff huff* Just imagine if I can make the process safe and reversible! I need to find out if the ressurective immortality Primes have will restore them to their original bodies after death. I need subject material that are demons to ensure the test is accurate as possible! Now, let's go!"
