Just passing through - Schwi Dola - 04-11-2015 There was a jungle clearing with lush, beautiful flowers all about with large bushes and tall trees surrounding it. The wind blew through the clearing moving the grass back and forth as a little boy all bundled up and wearing a big red hat cried. All alone in this clearing, he had fallen from the sky in a small bit of luck as his kidnappers that flew with little propellers on their heads were not far from their destination. However his brother was still taken away to the castle of an evil royal family of turtles. Nearby, the sounds of the crying could be heard by a heard of dinosaurs. Intelligent and gifted with the ability to speak the word of man, the tribal dinosaurs got curious and worried at the continuous scream of the young child so they approached. One by one they appeared in the clearing around him, but it wasn't until one of them walked up to the boy that he stopped crying. The green dinosaur threw him onto his back and he giggled playfully. But this moment was quickly ended by the sudden dive bombing of the kidnappers that had dropped them. They attacked the green dinosaur and made a grab for the boy, but the tribe threw their spears while the green dinosaur grabbed one with his long sticky, frog-like tongue and spit him at another. The battle was quickly over and most of the attackers escaped save for one stuck in the dinosaur's mouth. In exchange for his freedom the lackey told the dinosaurs why they had kidnapped the child and told them about his brother. They were ordered to do so by the one watching over the last child of the royal family. The dinosaur's decided this could not be allowed to continue, so they set off across the island to seek out and rescue the boy's brother. ------------ "Hey Dood, what is that?" A Prinny interupted Desco's concentration as she was playing this platformer type game on her dataverse device on a website. She looked up and took a moment to register what he had said. "Desco found a video game online!" The group were traveling through the Nexus, unsure of where to go next. They had picked a door at random and walked on in this weird white void of a place. Since there was no scenery to really look at after five minutes of pondering the void, Desco had gone to her dataverse device for entertainment while the Prinnys conversed amongst themselves. Re: Just passing through - Schwi Dola - 04-25-2015 Desco continued to move her little feet along, paying more attention to her dataverse device than the path ahead. It was a white void after all. Boring and not at all interesting, it wasn't like anything changed as she walked along. She was a little distracted anyway. Earlier she stopped playing her video game to browse the internet on the dataverse. She looked back at Guu's old twitter posts and blog once she found them. Guu had some interesting and weird things to say, talking with this Doom person and Gilgamesh. What was up with that blond haired guy that called himself King? He certainly sounded like a run of the mill mid-boss demon if there ever was one. Desco didn't like him, mostly because it looked like Guu didn't like him. But she wanted to meet this other guy. She considered posting something on the twitter but she was inclined against doing that right now, she felt a bit shy going out and trying to meet people. Now though, Desco's focus was on her game. It took fast reflexes and twitches to keep her little dinosaur mounted on a dog directing the dog's movement. She needed that dog because it was immune to the lava and Desco would die instantly if her character touched the red underneath. She moved to the left and right on the dog to make it move in that direction and moved quickly back and forth to try and keep him from moving at all. When she jumped off to collect coins or because the path was too short, the dog followed along on the lava. This made Desco die a few times, because she would jump off not expecting the dog to overshoot her target landing. However, Desco had plenty of lives from collecting all of the collectibles in previous levels and lots of coins. Because Desco was focused on her game, she didn't notice when two of the Prinnies disappeared. They kept walking for a little while and she jumped into the winner's circle on her game to complete the level and try for a bonus minigame. "Dood, where did the other doods go?" The Prinny that was left interupted her focus and she looked back at him then around her. There didn't seem to be anything in the area. "What happened to them?" "I don't know dood, they were here a few seconds ago." Desco looked back, and started to move when she noticed a shimmer in the air. "What is that?" "This is starting to get creepy dood. If this was a horror movie we are about to die because you said that." --------------------------- In another place there was a young magical girl clad in a sailor uniform as many magical girls are. Dressed in a blue skirt and white shirt with a blue rose bow on her chest and a headband holding a blue rose shaped jewel on her forehead, she jumped across the open road swiftly into the ally and landing into a run. She was greeted from behind with the hail of automatic weapons fire to which she immediacy threw up a barrier on her back, the transparent blue circular shield pulsing with the bullets that struck it while the ground littered with rubble as pieces of the two buildings on either side of her were shot off. She was in quite a different place from most magical girls and a strong survivor having lived for two years as a magical girl in Omaha Nebraska. Most do not live two weeks after having contracted Kyuubey, but Seika was a reserved and patient girl. Her options were wearing thin. In every direction now the enemy was upon her. She risked continuing forward for a ways and then turned a corner into another alleys jumping from wall to wall to the rooftops. The people that were chasing her, they were the army special forces assigned to deal with supernatural phenomenons. Re: Just passing through - Schwi Dola - 05-07-2015 There was a variety of reasons that they were after Seika and not just because she was contracted. When someone contracts with Kyuubey they get a wish. This wish could be anything from going to the past to a slice of cheesecake. Seika didn't have much time when she made her wish. She had stumbled into a witch's labyrinth and the only thing that talked to her was some alien looking cat. She thought it was a daydream that she had walking home from school, so the first thing she thought of was to be the best hacker, and that is what she got even now that wish was serving her. The satellites high above could not track her with the viruses tearing attempts to track by returning severely reduced resolution pictures so she didn't need to be worried about being spotted by them. But there were other things to worry about so she quickly slipped back into a new alley below continuing her mad dash. They could have snipers anywhere, and if her barrier over her Soul Gem wavered she could die from a well placed shot. The power she was putting into that barrier was steadily draining her magic supply. Seika's skill at first was put towards more selfish and silly goals like pranks on large websites and providing herself with as money as she wanted. But even then her newfound hacker instincts guided her, she avoided standing out too much and used layers and layers of security so that nothing could be traced back to her. She eventually discovered some of the darker secrets of society and found out about the special unit assigned to the supernatural who already had data on her and the other girls in her area. When Seika tries to move against them is when she got caught, her friends and family captured now. Though she was not close to her family the other magical girls she had met, she had made friends with so it stung when they were taken from her. There was a blacksmith in town that had had a daughter that fell prey to the magical girl contract trap many years ago and took measures to help those that he found. He had offered Seika advice and a shoulder to cry on when things got tough. She also made a couple friends with other magical girl, though more often than not it was a fight to the death to defend her territory. One was an girl that was an armored catgirl in her transformed state with super heavy armor that she needed to manipulate with magic just to move. But even she wasn't immune to the pursuit of the army as a Magical Girl dies when her Soul Gem shatters. Seika was the last magical girl in the city that she knew of now. What they needed to do was to pursue Kyuubey and stop him, not attack the girls. They knew about the source of magical girls though, Seika had read all of their intelligence files, but they were as unsuccessful at stopping Kyuubey as magical girls had been. Most girls didn't last very long before becoming witches and never found any of this out just feeding Kyuubey this energy he supposedly harvests from witchification to save the universe from heat death. As Seika passed out onto the street again she was immediately greeted by the sound of a shot and her head shoved back from the pressure as her barrier was shoved back. Her neck cracked and she felt the pain of that but it was nothing compared to the many injuries she has suffered from before. She used the backward spinning motion with her arms to grab the ground and acrobatically push herself back into the alley while at the same time small blue cubes materialized around her neck and then dematerialized healing her injury. All magical girls had self-healing capabiliy like this. Re: Just passing through - Schwi Dola - 05-15-2015 Seika used the alleys to her advantage. She noticed that the building next to her was an abandoned storage facility and cut through the rows of storage units. She decided what she really needed to do was change the game plan for them. They were prepared for her here on the surface, but she was willing to bet they were not as ready for chasing her into the sewers of the city. It was high risk to try and use the sewers to hide and travel. If they figured it out early enough they could cut her off from both sides and she'd be forced to attack people directly which she did not want to do. But she needed to try something, so she moved out from the storage units onto the street and looked for the opening to the sewer she needed. The sewers were dark and quiet. Seika made her way by the light of her own barrier on her forehead and the lights to the outside from other storm drains along the way. She held out one gauntlet and made a bright square barrier around it to light her way better and began to sprint down the sewers, her feet splashing in the water from a storm that must have been recent. If she wasn't spotted by the army going in here she could follow the path for quite a while but she couldn't take that chance of getting cut off so her plan was only to follow it for a few minutes which at her speed was still quite the distance. If they didn't catch her dipping into here she could be outside their expected search zone, but even then she would have to be careful of spotters. Things did not go as planned down in that dank sewer, but it wasn't her current enemy that made her pause. As she pushed along the featureless space she felt an all too familiar presence at this inopportune time. Seika felt that a witch was born just now somewhere on the surface off of the path of her underground route. Despite everything that was going on, Seika still felt a need to go after this witch. The fight was something she believed in even if Kyuubey was behind it. There was some logic to his plan to fight the heat death of the universe and stopping witches could save the innocent which behind Seika's logical exterior spoke to her idealistic heart, though she knew how foolhardy it was to trust idealism. She could also use the grief seed as her stockpile was dangerously low from the fighting and avoiding the military. She always come up with some kind of excuse to do the good thing her heart wanted, often without even realizing it. It was also a plus that the mundane people could not sense the witch's labyrinth. While normal people and their guns could manage to deal with a magical girl, they had a weakness to exploit. The witch inside did not and her familiars are usually numerous and unrelenting. Some witches would be easier than others but many could attack huge areas and wipe out armies when a magical girl could take that kind of attack or dodge it. So, Seika started moving towards the feeling of the witch. This was still an unanswered question though, how did a witch form in a city with no magical girls? Seika knew that they were normally formed out of magical girls falling into despair or familiars escaped from other witches after eating a bunch of people. They would even eventually reform if a grief seed was used and then discarded. Normally they were given to Kyuubey who ate the seed. Perhaps there was a simpler answer that one of the magical girls that was here before had stashed her unused grief seeds and they had come from that.Since the start of being a magical girl though there always seemed like there was an abundance of them appearing in random locations and while lost familiars did turn into witches, she had seen it once before, Seika herself has never fought the same witch twice. There was no more time to think of this now as she jumped up through one of the storm drains to exit onto the streets. She landed and quickly jumped forward multiple times before going to running again. Fortunately so far her plan to avoid the army seemed to be working so she probably cleared past the area they were currently looking for her in and it takes time to clear a wide area. Ahead she could see the shimmer of a hidden labyrinth, so she slowed to a stop at the entrance. if she burst in Seika could easily attract unwanted attention from the witch and bring the familiars running right to her to start fighting depending on the nature of the witch. Some witches and their familiars were not even hostile until provoked but there was no way to tell until you walked up to them and then they could be triggered by some otherwise innocuous action. She put one hand up to the shimmer and a magical circle appeared at her hand on the labyrinth. With this she could carefully slip into the labyrinth, it was a trick any experienced magical girl could learn eventually just like healing. So she focused and the black circle shifted to the color blue and then into a blue portal inside. Seika stepped forward and then everything faded away and turned to white. ------------------------------------------------------ Elsewhere, the Dean of Evil Acadamey was preparing to head out. After his defeat at the hands of three troublesome primes he was hunting in the Tangled Greens, he had sped himself back to his base of operations. Fortunately this was an easy task as he pulled out his recall pad and in a burst of light he re-appeared at the teleportation pad in his hidden secret base in the Pale Moors. He had his minions heal his wounds with healing magic and then rested for the night while he contemplated his new situation. In the morning he ordered his ninjas to regroup and prepare to move out. Meanwhile he checked in on his experiments. The Hollows he had used were too weak to be worth anything. It was time to step it up a notch despite the risks. "You, get some of the Prinnies and throw them into the Hollowization room! Maybe human souls we know are full of evil will work better than animal-men." The wood Golem that was standing there nodded. "Yes Master Mao." "And make sure the Hollows don't escape! I'm going out again." "Yes Master Mao." It would be just his luck if the new Hollows created this way broke through and ransacked the place, but some of his best minions were always here on guard duty. Mao made his way out of his base and out into the dark and mysterious Pale Moors. He had a well hidden base, especially as he was not on any terms with the local overlord Dracula. The entrance to his base behind him was protected by a patch of particularly think brush that was a very common feature in the untamed wetlands. As a Prime he could easily touch up the outside where even the best cleanup crew would leave traces of unusual activity if you knew what to look for. Omnillium allowed him to get almost any component he wanted and this also allowed him to reconstruct the landscape as if it was brand new and by breaking down and rebuilding it he didn't need to spend any precious OM in the process. He also didn't need logstical support by making deals with the locals for food and supplies as he could use omnilium to summon in any amount he desired though at times this was an annoyance. Sometimes it felt like he was more of a vending machine supplying food to his minions when they should be doing the work for him but only Primes could manipulate Omnilium. Mao's three remaining ninja appeared suddenly in puffs of smoke next to him. "Let's get going, I want to track down those two demon girls we met in the forest again. Their blogs should make this easy for us so I won't take failure this time! I'm going up front this time to make sure the job gets done right." The ninjas nodded obediantly, demon ninjas were particularly well known for their loyalty to their master. When Mao got to the Omniverse, he knew he had to get some of them as henchmen as the could usually be trusted with the more secretive tasks. They would sooner kill themselves than betray their master. That delinquent Raspberyl had shown Mao just how useful they could be, evne to someone that shows up on time, even early, to class at the academy. "Yes Master Mao." "Good. I want those two as subjects in my Hollow tests. Yes, we can perfect Hollowization technique! *Huff huff* Just imagine if I can make the process safe and reversible! I need to find out if the ressurective immortality Primes have will restore them to their original bodies after death. I need subject material that are demons to ensure the test is accurate as possible! Now, let's go!" Re: Just passing through - Schwi Dola - 05-17-2015 In the wide and white Nexus, Mao stopped and his two Ninja's stopped with him. "I think we need some reinforcements for this." Mao pulled out a big chunk of glowing rainbow Omnilium. "This time I'll try something new, well recruit a bunch of zombies! While they focus on the zombies you two will sneak attack." The Ninja's remained silent as Mao helps out the Omnilium and focused on what he wanted. Seika was standing among the zombie horde on the edge. She quickly looked about and her eyes grew wide. This was nothing like any witches labyrinth she had seen before. Now each one was different from the last but all labyrinths shared one quality and that was the otherworldly feel and appearance of the space inside. The very air just felt wrong in a labyrinth, but here it was not. In fact, she didn't sense the Witch anymore. "What's this? I didn't try to summon a human." "Where am I man?" "Anyone got some brains?" "I was just having a nice time on the Beach..." The zombies talked about random things and in general confusion while Seika looked at them and Mao. "Now listen up!" Mao pointed to the crowd he had summoned. "You are all now stuck here in the Omniverse with me. I have summoned you all to serve me, Dean of Evil Academy! If you do what I say without question, you get to live! How does that sound?" The zombies grumbled among themselves about the situation while Seika started to edge her way away from them all. She had no idea what was really going on but she didn't come here to play evil minion for some red eyed freak. "And you! I don't know how you managed to get here but you'll have to go, I don't have a use for a human right now." Mao held up a hand and cast a magic. A pink magical circle faded into view at his feet, an action that Seika recognized as a spell of some kind. By his attitude he was about to attack so she reflexively created a barrier around her body, a light transparent blue energy shot out from both gauntlets forming into a sphere. But three spots of yellow energy and a ring appeared around her and the starbursts tore through the barrier and over her body to the opposite sides they started on. He was strong, but Mao looked annoyed that his attack hadn't killed her in one shot. "So little girl, you are stronger than you look!. But we'll see how tough you really are!" In response, the two ninjas took off at different angles while the zombie horde just looked on with varying levels of interest. Blue cubes formed around the areas that the star magic had seared through, healing the affected areas. Then she redoubled her efforts to protect her Soul Gem with as tough a barrier as she could get. It didn't look like she could avoid this fight and while this was no witch, there was clearly magic at work. The two Ninjas came at her and she threw a barrier up at her right while she punched the ninja that came at her left, slamming into the sword he had swung and right into his face. But the square hit only pushed him back and made him bleed as he quickly regained his balance with a couple acrobatic jumps while the other ninja with his axe made a heavy swing and cut through the barrier and into Seika's body. Something was wrong here, Seika could tell that she wasn't moving or reacting as fast as she was just a few moments ago. Then Mao struck, he came in fast with his sword and spun circles around Seika until he started up a tornado that carried her up into the air. "Take this!" As she reached the apex, she formed a barrier to meet with the coming blow which sent her catapulting into the ground and making a crater. She gasped out in pain as she hit the ground, then blue cubes started again to repair her wounds. The Ninjas tried to hack at her but she grabbed their weapons and with her Superior strength she pulled them along. They didn't let go, so she brought them together and slammed the pair into each-other. But a torrent of wind formed right on top of her and cut her body from all angles. She gasped again, but focused and suppressed her pain altogether as it wasn't helping her in this fight. Doing so reduced her reaction time but she couldn't afford to flinch right now either. "I've had enough! You are impressive but you won't survive this!" Mao focused green magical power onto his hand, which quickly gathered and created a green fireball. He charged forward and Seika put up her gauntlets to block but he jumped into the air and came down to grab her chest, then lifting her up with the charging fireball. The power grew and grew until it exploded in a green cloud. When the smoke cleared, Seika's body was on the ground with a hole in her chest, but the barrier protecting her Soul Gem was still in place. "Ha, there!." There were murmurs of being impressed among the zombies. While Mao started to organize his zombie horde, a seemingly dead Seika thought to herself. 'So this is it. I don't stand a chance here. I'm going to die here in some strange place? I'm not even going to be fighting the enemy I've fought for so long, I'm going to lose to an unknown. What have I spent all this time doing?' Blue cubes formed around the hole in her chest and quickly her body began to repair itself. Like any Magical Girl, her body came back every time but it cost magic to do it and it wasn't cheap. Now she was depressed, the absurdity of the situation and the uselessness of everything she had done hit her hard. Tears streamed down Seika's face, as Mao looked at her again, surprised. "I didn't give you enough credit after all, I guess I'll have to put out the big guns." As Seika brought her body slowly up, a blue magical circle appeared at Mao's feet and a sphere with two rotating rings. The sphere expanded out and everything around him faded away, following with a new magical circle around Seika. She stared out at the magic circle as it created a large series of water bubbles in the air. They hung there in a serene moment, then everything froze and her body was completely frozen, then it shattered. Her body tore apart from the force of the shattering leaving only her soul gem and a mess best left to your imagination. The Barrier around the soul gem fell, but it was black now and pulsed. "What is this now?" Mao started to approach the Soul Gem, which only sealed his fat as the soul gem cracked and burst in a torrent of darkness as it transformed into a grief seed. The entire area saturated with the emotional power of the newly born witch and the labyrinth quickly formed. The otherworldy appearance of the new dimension formed by the witch's emotions quickly swallowed up Mao and his minions and then faded away, leaving only a small shimmer in the air for an entrance. Re: Just passing through - Schwi Dola - 05-18-2015 As started to decide to touch the shimmer, her dataverse device/communicator vibrated. Desco pulled it out and the screen lit up with the face of her father, Genjuro Kazamatsuri. In the background Desco could see a test tube but his body blocked the contents. "Daddy!" "Hello Desco! I need you to come by the lab. I have some experiments that will take you specifically to perform because your body is that of a Prime unlike DesX." Normally Genjuro wouldn't be contacting Desco for favors like this. He knew that Desco would do anything for him and he did not want to interfere with her natural development in the world. But today he had access to special technology that needed a Prime to test on and with DesX he had a better control group than with any other Prime he could use as a subject. He also knew everything there was to know about her body as he had constructed her sequence by sequence. "Uhh, of course Daddy! But where are you?" "I work in the Empire's capital, Coruscant. Just follow this map to the gate in the Nexus and a yellow taxi cab will fly you here quick. I look forward to seeing you again in person Desco!" "Bye Daddy!" Desco switched off the device and shook with excitement and pleasure that her father wanted her for something. "Come on come on Prinnies! Daddy in needs me!" "Well Dood, what about the other guy?" "I think its better this way Dood, who knows what would happen to us in there.." |
