What's in a name?
#7
Most of my OC names usually have something to do with Xaqairy or Charles Xaqairy.

I like the odd spelling for Zachary. Over the years, it's kinda evolved from Zak, which is what I wanted to name my first son. After learning the word "qat", I thought that a "q w/ no u" would be interesting, so I changed it to "Zaq". A year or so went by, and I decided that a Z wasn't weird enough, so it changed to Xaq. Time passed and it eventually changed to Xaqary, Xaqry, and finally to Xaqairy.

For a few years now, I've come to realize that my son would probably hate me for being named Xaqairy, so I came up with a solution. "Charles Xaqairy" sounds like a professional name to me. "Charles X. Stewart, Attorney", "Charles X. Stewart, PhD." While my son may not actually go for a "professional title", I think it still sits well enough that he has enough nicknames to get around the "professionalism" of his name.

After all this time, though, it's come to be more of a character name, rather than lineage. Until I come up with another name for a son, though, I'm sticking with it.
