[Round 1] Mickey & Yu Kanda vs Gilgamesh & Desman
#7
Gilgamesh strode forward to destroy the mouse, but suddenly, the beam of energy blasted into his chest. He raised his arm to shield his eyes from the intense light, but left his torso vulnerable to the attack’s blazing touch. The energy had begun to melt the Gilded King’s armor, as if it were butter, and singed his skin, blackening and burning his upper body. Then, as quickly as it came, the beam had passed, leaving the King of Heroes’ flat on the ground. His knees trembled as he made an effort to stand.

Breathing heavily, he glared up at Mickey, who stood there, infuriating the king with with his heroic and righteous demeanor. Gilgamesh scowled, of all the things about the Mouse, he hated that the most. Wobbling back onto his feet, he winced at the searing of his left breast. Glancing down, Gil’s heart dropped to his stomach; the brand of Diablo was proudly illuminating. From it, thick black mucus began to crawl and envelop around his skin.

Tossing the, comically large, mouse ear onto the floor, Gilgamesh hissed at Mickey, “This is why I will never forgive you.” The plague on his chest had already swallowed his torso and begun to creep up to his neck. It had begun to drip from his fingertips, leaving a pool of tar at his feet. Not far behind and trying to ensure his “partner’s” well-being, Desman rushed up to Gilgamesh. Gil waved his hand frantically, causing some of the mucus to sprinkle onto Desman’s face.

His voice gradually deepened, descending a few keys. The virus conquered his face as he sneered, “This is the monster you created Mickey. This is your fault!” As the black finally finished engulfing his body, Gilgamesh fell to his knees and grew silent. Yu Kanda and Mickey were both completely taken aback by the King’s transformation and remained silent in shock. Desman put a hand on Gil’s shoulder, nausea washing over him as his fingers felt drenched in something akin to wet glue.

The former King of Heroes had begun to shudder violently and his head shot up, glaring at his hated enemy. “Miiiiickeeeeeeeey!” the creature roared. Without any warning, the demon grabbed Desman’s leg and exploded with a speed that shocked both of his opponents. With each swift step towards his ultimate goal, Desman’s poor head bumped upon the stone tiles. Mickey had no time to react, as Gilgamesh swung Desman’s body like a limp, rag-doll at the Mouse. The Exorcist had a good reaction time, however, and managed to intercept the two King’s, taking the brunt of the hit. The force of the attack pushed them both to the edge of the arena, with Mickey hanging onto Kanda’s neck, and his feet dangling off the edge.

The demon grunted, clearly upset that both of his opponents hadn’t been destroyed in one fell swoop. Gilgamesh dashed towards his foes, while Desman desperately hit at Gilgamesh’s hand, demanding to be released. Gil ignored him however and swung his human maul overhead. Kanda successfully evaded the blow, letting Desman smash painfully into the ground. With Mickey still attached like a necklace, Kanda stuck his sword deep into the former monarch’s side. Gilgamesh let out a hideous shriek and reflexively swung his fist into Kanda’s face, flinging him across the battlefield. The Swordsman and the Mouse both skidded across the ground, leaving them scraped and bruised.

With those nuisances out of the way, the demon took attention to the pain in his side. Gritting his teeth, the former king ripped the sword out from his intestines and revealed that the black sludge had stained the blade. As Kanda stood up, he clutched his head. Gilgamesh tossed the bloodied weapon over and grunted at the swordsman, “Take...back...pathetic...sword.” Dangling at his side, Desman continued his incessant punches into Gilgamesh’s torso. “Let me go!” the former robot shouted.

“Take...him too,” Gil said as he tossed Desman across the arena and into Mickey’s chest. Both the Mouse and Desman let out an audible, “Ow!” as their bodies crashed into one another. Gilgamesh began to float off the ground, outstretching his arm, and beckoning one of his treasures to come to him. Out of a large portal, came a giant blade. Gilgamesh took hold of the enormous scythe, however, the weapon blackened at his very touch, giving it the same aesthetic that Gilgamesh had.

The heavy weapon seemed weightless in his hands and without warning, he flew towards Kanda with amazing speed. The swordsman prepared his blade to block the King’s attack, but Gilgamesh effortlessly weaved over his head. Kanda’s eyes widened as Gilgamesh’s feet touched the ground behind him. The demon brought back his colossal scythe and swung it directly into Kanda’s shoulder. The black tar had begun to latch itself onto Kanda. He scowled as the filth had begun climbing onto him and dashed far from the King. Gil brought down the scythe and licked the blood that had gathered on the blade. Growling at Kanda, his pure red eyes seemed to flicker, “Tasty.”
