[Round 1] Mickey & Yu Kanda vs Gilgamesh & Desman
#4
Behind the outraged King of heroes, a series of golden glittering portals emerged. The sheer number of them would strike fear into the heart of many.

Kanda glanced over his shoulder at the chained up and morally tormented Mickey who had no place to run, nor the desire to. The pain the heroic mouse was experiencing wasn’t of any physical nature, yet he was clearly suffering. The honor-bound swordsman had no choice and took an audacious stance, covering his wounded ally. With arms wide open he welcomed Gilgamesh’s wrath as if he wanted to get on his King’s bad side.

“You’re a fool, Kanda….You will regret standing in my way.” Gil spat before unleashing hell. It was a fearsome sight; blades, spears, and daggers all shot towards the exorcist’s direction. Like a wounded animal, Desman desperately crawled on both his hands and feet to the side, avoiding the deadly barrage.

Right then the innocence power reacted. On both hands a visible stigmata symbol appeared, unleashing gushing fountains of blood originating from the marks. Together with the divine blue energy, it created a mahogany crystal to protect its user. The metallic sounds of weaponry clashing against the impenetrable cocoon was like a hailstorm of death that dissipated into silence. It was music to Kanda’s ears.

“Impossible!” Gilgamesh uttered with disbelief. Cracks appeared on the outer shell of the crystallized tomb before shattering into a thousand glass pieces and revealed an unscathed Kanda shooting a satisfied, somewhat mocking grin towards his King.

Desman got up his feet, looking unhappy yet eager to continue his assault. The swordsman turned to Mickey, now freed of his chains, the prime sat on his knees, staring into the abyss. Gilgamesh's words had its desired unfavorable effect of getting into the conflicted hero's mind. Kanda had been there, he recognized the struggles his partner went through. A fight with his inner demons. Kanda was determined to help him,….someday.

*SLAP*

"ENOUGH!" Kanda roared, "This is no time to wallow in your own sadness. Do that afterward when you’re alone. Be a man and suffer in silence. I need the warrior inside you to have my back!" The swordsman's whack combined with his harsh words snapped Mickey out of his trance.

“Bu-” His response got shut down by a second slap across the other cheek.

“No buts, I will deal with the ginger over there, you keep the pressure on Gilgamesh.” A reluctant nod was given.

“I will not be ignored by insects like yourself!” Gilgamesh bellowed with anger.

The captain ignored the outcry; three dots appeared in his eyes before shooting off towards Desman. “Oh, shit!” the redhead shouted before sending two shots Kanda’s way. Both were easily evaded by the experienced swordsman during his gap-closing rush. “Can’t we talk about thi-..URGH” With Desman’s windpipe being forced shut he was unable to finish his sentence.

After squeezing a few seconds longer Kanda forced the young prime into the ground. The exorcist current form was simply superior in every way. Yu forced his foot onto Desman’s chest, asserting his dominance.

“OOOOOOOW AAH OW OW” Desperate high pitched cries reached Kanda’s ears. The armored King managed to get a hold of Mickey's iconic saucers, spinning him around. The carousel of agony came to an abrupt halt, launching the prime towards Kanda, “Here! Catch!”

“Wooooaaaaaah! Incoming!!!” The mouse-like projectile screeched as he torpedoed forward.

To avoid a ring out Kanda had to stop it. With his sword in hand, catching was out of the question. He dug his foot into the squishy foundation, bracing himself.

*WHACK*

A direct hit from the projectile knocked them both down. A trail of blood found it’s way down Kanda's cheek. “What happened?!” The exorcist growled.

“I...I can't.” Mick sighed.

Kanda knew this wasn’t going to work, his partner’s heart was not in it anymore, “Alright, I got an idea.”

The strategist started whispering into Mickey’s ears. With each whispered word his Disney eyes grew larger. “Yeah! I can do that!”

The duo got back on their feet and while Desman was still gasping for air they charged Gilgamesh. Kanda spearheaded the attack, picking up speed while rushing the king. A sudden burst of acceleration made it appear as if there were multiple swordsmen stampeding towards Gilgamesh who, in turn, raised his own sword. Flashes of high-speed exorcists appeared around Gil. Yet, he remained calm and focused. It was the warrior inside him that Kanda couldn’t underestimate. The king’s eye shot to his right before striking and clashing swords, “Found you.” Gilgamesh proclaimed with pride.

“Only because I let you.” Replied an equally smug guard-captain right before Mickey seized his opportunity. A kick against the back of the knees forced the King to fall onto them, following up with a ‘nelson hold’. Mickey held on tight, turned his head and closed his eyes, “Do it now!”

“Unhand me you rotent!” The king’s struggle stopped when the, now grey-haired, Kanda appeared in front of him.

“Yield Gilgamesh.” The exorcist kindly suggested before forcing his fist into Gil’s most prized feature, his face.
