Yeah, Omni-physics is fucky.
But, irl, it's much more efficient to keep a nuclear power station up for 48 hours than for 12 hours due to it taking time to start up and everything. So there's a "logical" justification and whatnot. It's easier to keep running once you're already running than to start running after stopping. It's easier to stay awake than it is to get out of bed after not sleeping enough. And so on.
There's lotsa weird Omni-physics stuff. Sometimes it's more noticable IC than others. And sometimes it seems more reasonable.
