Thanks, Dane! It's great to be here today, with you all. I was referred by everyone's favorite snarky wizard, Harry Dresden; already specified it in the paperwork as applying.
As for the utility power, my basic thought process was as such:
Shio is meant to be -dizzyingly- competent in mixed combat, allowing him to change his fighting style with little hesitation. He subscribes to no single martial art or fighting style, meaning if he's fighting an especially clever opponent, he can immediately disrupt their flow of combat, and continue his relatively unimpeded. It seemed like it would be a little too prohibitive to add a new move for each weapon I wanted, but that's largely contingent on what qualifies as a 'new weapon'; if we're treating spears and lances and fauchards as three separate weapons, then I'd be doing basically nothing but making new weapons, and then I'd have tons of SP and nothing to -spend- it on, unless I'm missing something.
Provided I could make 'hub' forms for the basic obvious ones, perhaps in a manner akin to Pathfinder logic, I could easily swap over to a series of nebulous forms. The intent was, quite simply, for Shio to 'make' items without spending OM, without explicitly breaking the rules of how creating items normally worked. In this case, I could even see it working as some sort of special version of the Transformation and Shapeshifting proficiencies, as time went on and he got even more skilled.
Ikkotsu's primary intent was speed over force, so I -did- undersell the damage a bit because I wanted to make it clear that if the opponent decides to try and get involved -after- he's had the time to build his stance, they're going to find it a lot harder to deal with. The intent was that anyone who gives him five or six seconds in a fight, just to see what happens, is going to find that to be a big mistake.
