Save for the scooter's motor and the tires hitting the ground road below, the trip was quiet. So quiet... It's incredible how silent this place was. One would expect birds chirping or bugs singing or something, but nothing pointed at some sort of life around, save for the muddled grass. The thick clouds above and the faint mist in the surroundings didn't help. All in all, the place was as creepy as it could get.
The town wasn't much different. There were guards who eyed them as they went through the open gates, but the streets were empty. They passed a few shops, but all of them were closed. One of them had cracked windows and blood splattered inside, but no bodies to be seen. It looked like a tavern, but Leo didn't give it much thought.
He stopped the scooter. "Well, I thought we'd find someplace to rest in here before the last stretch, but it seems we'll have to head direc–", something caught his attention on the corner of his eye. "Wait"
Behind the wall of an alleyway, there was a woman hiding. She was wearing a long gray dress worn on an almost skeletical body. Heavy eyebags with pronounced wrinkles marked her face, and she had a melancholic expression.
Leo kept looking at her direction, until she tried to peak on them from behind the wall, probably not aware that he was seeing through it. Once she realized he knew she was there it's when she stepped out of the alleyway, now facing both him and Touka.
"E-excuse me, young kids, b-but if you wouldn't mind...", she said.
"Yes?", he said. Touka was kept silent.
"I c-can't help but notice y-you're not from around here...". Her gaze turned away from them. "A-are you, by any chance, p-primes?"
"Why would you want to know that?"
"I... A b-beast had been lurking around h-here, and my d-daughter... I d-don't have much, I can't pay a bounty, b-but if you can... D-do me that favor... P-please... I'll repay you with everything I c-can..."
A kidnapping? A murder? Mmhh...
Not answering the woman, he glanced at Touka.

Quote:Play the old hag if you want. The stuttering is not out of shyness. She's also a naturally wary woman, although right now she's not fearing anything
